Lovely setting good pub, served good food, good outdoor area, nice choice of ale and beers. I had the halloumi panini, really filling and delicious!! The vegan choice also looked good (burger and hotdog!)

Came here with the family for food last night. Hadn't booked, so we were lucky to get a table as the restaurant was pretty full and (as far as we could see) there was only one young girl serving (her name was Lilly). Despite that, she managed to make us feel welcome and looked after; she literally didn't stop! Steak was delicious, but this could've been a very different review. Would suggest that the restaurant needs to look at their staffing levels, but well done Lilly, you did great!

My husband and I broke our journey home feom Surrey to Southport and called in at the Boat Inn. Our three dogs were welcomed warmly. The staff were all excellent and checked that we were happy with the food throughout. I have multiple food allergies and the waitress and kitchen staff could not have done more to ensure I was safe. The food was excellent and generous in its portions. My husband really enjoyed his Tomahawk steak with a good portion of peppercorn sause and I had the beef sizzler with rice. We regretted having a shared portion of pulled pork nachos first, so no room at all for pudding. We have friends who live locally and will be recommending The Boat to them.

This place is a little gem Had Sunday lunch there -£20 2 courses -food lovely & service very good. Will definitely visit again

Nice atmosphere. Friendly helpful staff serving decent beer with a fun quiz. Very helpful, well organised quiz and a decent evening out - good value all round

Sat at a table for a couple of drinks at 5pm.table booked 630 .at520 asked to move because table was booked for food. Not happy as regulars. Never had a problem before.

Not good enough. No hello … no welcome… no please or thank you…. Busy or not busy… unfriendly staff … one server was working incredibly hard but the rest look like they don’t want to be there. Didn’t stay for food as wanted a nice and happy environment to relax in.

I ordered two drinks, both were made wrong as we asked for no Milk. The young girl was incredibly rood. As was her friend. I don’t recommend here at all. And will never go back. £8 for two small drinks. Better going to Costa or Starbux

Food was fine but the hygiene standards lacking. Hairnets and gloves were needed. The toilets were absolutely atrocious, no soap to be found and had to ask three times for a bottle from a staff member who was away with the fairies. Given most passing trade is walkers, some hot water and a bar of soap at a bare minimum wouldn’t go amiss. A missed opportunity to be something much better.

Great pub and bartender down to earth good for a quite drink with friends.
