The Swan in South Staffordshire

Probably the best pub in the world. Beer is great, staff are fantastic and the atmosphere is on point. Highly recommend.

Didn't realise they sold Pork Pies. With crisps and drink for under £6, was a lovely light lunch in a great pub. Will come again

My new favourite pub. The staff are so friendly and a really good laugh. Makes a difference! Good drinks and not a rip off at all like the *cough* local chain pubs!. Keep it up guys.

This is my favorite local pub. It's one of the few proper pubs in the area. Decent pint of Guinness too, and that's coming from a Dubliner and a certified Guinness snob.

Ahhh, The Swan! Been living abroad for 10 years in The States & could not wait to go back to The Swan - a traditional, nearly unchanged, authentic pub. It was our local for many years. Lovely beers & pork pies & friendly conversations with the locals. Many, many good times here!

Best kept banks's in wolverhampton. Great staff. Fantastic atmosphere. Very friendly atmosphere, if you talk to anyone they'll befriend you. So go with friends or go alone.

A good place to go for a beer and a chat. The Snug/lounge is very cosy and warm. You do get the odd look from the regulars if you take ‘their’ seat but most of them are about a million years old so don’t cause any trouble. Staff very friendly all the times I’ve been there.

I used to like going here until we had an incident of offensive comments made about us by some ‘regulars’ Even the bar maid sat with them talking did nothing to discourage it and was pretty much complicit in the whole conversation.

Good variety of real ales and drinks. The staff and regulars are lovely. A unique pub with plenty of old-school charm and character.

A proper traditional beer drinking pub that I've used now and again for many years. Beer quality always good, usual Bank's ales. If I was using the restaurant and large eating pub over the road I would do my drinking here first and after!

Could only do 3.30 we couldn't make it for that time Happy to lose the booking The last time we went waited for ages!!! Gone to the Oaken where response is welcoming and service is good!!

Busy day at work ,but relaxes in minutes when I arrived at the Swan .Beer and cider really nice . Staff friendly and welcoming . Nice atmosphere greeted as a customer , left as a friend . will return

It's like a throw-back in time to the days when people went to a pub for a drink. There's no hot food served, so the traditional pub atmosphere is maintained. They always have a good selection of drinks, including several real ales... the ales are always perfect, probably due to the high turnover. It's been a pub since 1777, & some of the decor looks as if it might be original. Great atmosphere, & friendly staff & clientele. Highly recommended.

Went in for a curry and it was delicious! Really nice, strong flavours in the sauce and the keema naan I had was great too. My friend had a grilled sizzler and couldn’t eat it all so I polished off that sheesh kebab, absolutely lovely....

Great place to go for a few pints with the lads. All of the ales I tried were kept really well, better than most pubs nowadays. Only flaw was the smell of wet dog. I'm a pet person myself but the smell really lingered so we sat outside drinking good job the weather was okay. Will definitely be going back soon!

Found by chance and must say what a pleasure to just sit and enjoy a relaxing drink with the family and lovely staff who were more than happy to assist us in places to visit xx Thank you

A traditional boozer! Pork pies, cobs and beer what more could you want from a proper pub! Staff and manager always friendly and helpful! If you like banter then the bar is for you!

Fab pub with brilliant atmosphere excellent beer .The staff are always friendly and very welcoming.Very handy for dog walkers who need a warm dog friendly pub .

Recently refurbished, great outdoor area, well maintained draught lagers and ales. Good selection of spirits for this type of establishment. Snacks and crisps available. Recommend!

We went here to meet up with some friends who had used the pub before. Very friendly pub with decent beer and good service. We will definitely be going there again.

Esta fue mi primera visita a la Swan por recomendación de amigos. Nos reuniones como grupo y contentos de encontrar había un montón de zonas agradables para un grupo de diez a sentarse. Buena variedad de cerveza y bebidas no alcohólicas, incluyendo una cerveza sin alcohol. rollitos de queso (fragmentos) y bonito no rebanadas de cerdo tartas y mostaza.

Started going in over twenty years ago, lived a two minute walk away for about 8 years, moved away and regretted losing the ability to pop in when the mood took. Great people, friendly, welcoming...that goes for the .locals as well as the bar staff. Positively love the place and always will.

This pub has a good selection of beer, and the surroundings are properly traditional. The bar staff are very friendly, as are the locals, and the prices are keen. You can generally get a pint of Old Empire, which is, in some people's opinion (mine, mostly) easily Marstons' best.

I`m reluctant to tell too many people as it might get too full. The beer is kept and presented by dedicated professionals. Good choice of real ales rotated regularly.You get a PINT and not a Coronation Street PINT with an inch of froth. I`m a believer in getting good value. You wouldn't expect short measure if you were buying petrol.Beer is £25 a gallon. Ben is a good landlord. Naomi is a great bar person.I don't drink anywhere else.

This pub is by far one of the best in Wolverhampton. It's a "proper" pub that serves good real ale. The beer is always spot on and the bar staff and manager are professional and friendly. There is always a nice atmosphere in the place and it's well worth a visit!

The Swan is what a pub should be like a comfortable atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy a great pint of Banks's beer amongst other beers and lagers. It has a good feeling about it and a good reputation locally where you can socialise and meet a friendly varied mix of people for some friendly banter, particularly good at weekends for an afternoon drink.

The Swan is a very friendly pub, just as a pub should be, great staff led by a very friendly landlord. Just the right atmosphere for a couple of drinks after a walk along the canal, or a night out with friends and family.

A group of us visited The Swan for a drink on a Saturday afternoon.We have been here a few times. Its a nice quiet pub with good beers. The pork pies are very nice.Well worth a visit if you want a nice relaxing beer.

The Swan at Compton is a wonderful Public House where you can get a very warm welcome and an authentic pub atmosphere. The Pub Manager, Ben, is a very friendly and welcoming host who has made a big difference to the pub since taking over. He ensures that the customers feel valued and that their needs are his priority. The rest of the staff are also very welcoming and attentive. I would recommend this pub if you want a night out with friends in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Brilliant atmosphere fantastic landlord beer is always served perfectly. Bar staff are hard-working and friendly. I can definitely recommend the Swan.

This pub is one of the best! Ben the manager keeps his beer well! Always welcoming very dog friendly and always dog biscuits on hand! If u fancy a decent pint of real ale and a good atmosphere I would highly recommend this pub! Staff r always helpful and have a good laugh!

We went to the swan on Sunday for a lovely Sunday lunch. They do a 3 course dinner for £8.95. Excellent service,food and lovely staff. They offer 5 starters. Choice of 3 roast meats, a Yorkshire pudding, sausage and stuffing and roast potatoes are served to you and then you help yourself to the rest of vegetables, potatoes, gravy and sauces. Then you are given a choice of 10 cold deserts and at least 6 hot ones.

I've been going to the swan for the last 32 years so have seen a few changes. Can't recommend this place enough. The beers are always excellent and the ambience is very relaxing. Staff are polite and welcoming.
