Took my Mom in her 80’s for her birthday 🎂 Superb service wonderful table and incredible roast beef crispy outer tender inside. The gammon and turkey were wonderful too mu Mom was thrilled. Our starters huge prawn cocktails were much larger than elsewhere and full of taste. All the staff were excellent polite helpful & very professional. We learned that Sam & Paul are retiring which is both sad and also very well deserved after 20+ years of superb quality and service. Our Monday bike club Wednesday blokes dining and weekend carvery goers plus I would say majority of people within 35 mile radius will really really truly miss you and your fab team😢 Thank you for looking after every one of us so fantastically and enjoy your retirement both With love xxx

Food is okay, but the place overall feels run down, needs a good clean and sort out, bad set up with the carvery station within the corridor which causes chaos with people queuing, staff carrying hot plates trying to avoid people.

We visited The Bradford Arms for a birthday and it was fantastic. It’s a great pub, with amazing food and a great selection of drinks. It’s your typical English pub, with a great atmosphere it far exceeds expectations. Portion sizes are enormous, but prices are such good value for money - for the price we paid you’d expect portion sizes to be far smaller but we were pleasantly surprised, and quality isn’t cut to make up for it (some of the best onion rings I’ve had!) Staff were fantastic, especially the lady who was either the owner or the manager on this evening - nothing was too much and it felt like she loves her job which really helped the overall welcoming atmosphere. It’s a shame we don’t live a little closer but we will definitely be back! Would highly recommend!

When we arrived on a very busy Sunday we were served straight away The Carvery had a huge choice of vegetables which were all delicious and piping hot and a generous portion of meat etc. It was also very good value in comparison with others. The only reason it wasn’t a 5star was that the place itself needed a good clean eg dead flies, cobwebs etc and didn’t match up to the high standard of food.

There is a great variety of options @ the Bradford Arms’ carvery - served to an impressive standard. The quality and quantity of food available represent good value for money. Service could have been slightly more attentive. I also disagree that any children over 8 are charge for an ‘adults carvery’ however, in hindsight, they eat nowhere near as much food as an adult.

Hadn’t been here in years but we have been told best Sunday Carvery anywhere near it, so we visited for lunch on Saturday, waited sometime for our starters and then mains but now realise why! All the food is cooked/made fresh and extremely well worth the wait. Both had bruschetta starters and I went for beer battered cod (nearly a foot long) my partner decided on the lamb hot pot, definitely will be returning on a regular basis.

We had a lovely Sunday Lunch at The Bradford Arms for our Grandson’s first birthday. Overall we all enjoyed it and the carvery lunch was delicious, with such an extensive choice of meats, vegetables, potatoes, sauces etc., we didn’t have to ask for anything! We did, however, have a problem though after we were shown to our table, the staff asked us if we wanted starters, and nobody did, so we were asked to wait until told to go and get our food. We waited 35 minutes and still had to ask if it was okay for us to go! We discussed this with the person in charge and she apologised, as well as taking some money off our bill to make up for this misunderstanding. We were happy with that, and to be honest they couldn’t do enough for us after that, and turned it all around! We took a birthday cake and they bought it out, gave us serviettes, plates and forks for us to eat it. We didn’t leave a tip but maybe we will next time because we will definitely be back as the food and the friendly staff made up for the delay in service. Thank you!

Came here for a Sunday carvery with family. On arrival waitress showed us to our table which was sticky! Ordered 3 adult carveries and one child. Also ordered drinks at the same time, the orange squash had a mucky froth on it so asked the waitress for a fruit shoot instead, this was out of date ( March 2021)! which was exchanged. The pork and beef were nice but the carrot mash was soggy, the roast potatoes and yorkshire pudding tasted like they were cooked from frozen. We went to pay at the bar and she tried to charge us for 4 adult meals until my daughter questioned the bill, no apologises. The decor is stuck in the 80's and felt grubby. Possibly the best carvery I’ve ever had in the way of quality of food and variety of veg. It would be nice if they had a vegetarian main dish like a nut roast or something but saying that, I was not short of options from the rest of the carvery. I’m also pretty sure the gravy wasn’t vegetarian, so I think they should have a veggie option for this too.. If a little more effort went into veggie options this would be 5/5 from me!

The wine was meant to be Shiraz but tasted of vinegar with a hint of vimto for colouring. Absolutely disgusting! Myself and my sons girlfriend was unable to drink it so decided to go back to the bar and ask if we could have another drink instead. OMG Cindy the bar attendant was so rude and refused to exchange the drink and said she didn’t think it was a problem. She had no customer service skills at all. Anyway she lost out of 8 meals plus drinks in the end because my family and I didn’t want to give her our money!!!!!!will never go back and will also tell friends and family to avoid going there! We are all foodies in our family and often put reviews on where we have eaten so that rude woman Cindy definitely put us off going there again! We stopped here for lunch when on a journey between Cambridge and the Wirral. We had not stopped here previously and were pleasantly surprised. Food (lamb hotpot) was good and the portion size was very generous, the cost was very reasonable, good value. they keep at least 3 or possibly 4 real ales. The only drawback is that food appears to be prepared fresh from order so that we waited 30 mins to receive it. Staff are friendly and they seemed to be very busy, there was a possible under-staffing issue. The whole pub area was impressively decorated for Christmas, an artistic tour de force. So unless you are in a serious hurry stop here in preference to nearby Dobbies or Western Park (overpriced) just down the road towards Telford.

Reasonably close to M6 so can easily divert from motorway to meet friends. So midweek lunchtime 4 of us plus dog tried it. Only a handful of people there. Whilst the large open plan restaurant is the primary eating area there are a few tables in the bar for those with a dog. Good selection of beers. Menu quite extensive which can be a worrying sign. However the quality across all 4 main courses was very good with generous portion sizes. The prices are very reasonable. Will certainly visit again.

We waited in the bar area where I had a pint There were about 4 real ales available) and my friend had her usual tap water and ice. We were soon shown to a table near the bar and then proceeded to the serving area, there were the usual selection of meats and a vast array of veg; my friend was very happy. We visited for a family celebration, so our table was booked for 13.30. Upon arrival it was obvious that this was a popular venue as the large car park was almost full. Upon entring we were sent to the bar area to get drinks whilst our table was sorted. A short wait and we were taken through to our table. When we were ready it was a visit to the carvery.I must admit that I`m not usually a big fan of carverys so I was filled with trepidation. However, no worries. There were four meats on offer, beef, pork, turkey and gammon, and you could choose two of them. I had the beef and gammon, and my portions were generous. There was a vast array of vegetables available, and, because the dishes were not huge, they were regularly refreshed meaning that all of the food was fresh and hot. The meal itself was tasty and very enjoyable, and being a carvery you could have the portions of your choice. The only downside for me was that where the food was served was also a passage to our dining area from the rest of the pub, plus with the food being regularly refreshed it could beome a bit of a challenge trying to avoid other diners and staff, and to carry a plate without spilling the contents. I believe that this is a place that needs to be booked to ensure that you have a table, plus anyone with mobility problems need to be aware that access to the rear dining area involves negotiating a couple of steps. Overall a lovely lunch. Although they were busy we never felt pressured to finish our food and clear our table.

The choices are very varied with plenty of choice to suit all tastes. It was nearly an hour before our meals arrived but the wait was worth it as they were really tasty. My Mom in law said the steak was the best she had tasted in ages. My chicken dish I really enjoyed and the chips were really good. The best was yet to come with the dessert. I had the ginger sponge with pouring cream and it was well, wow. Moist, light and coated in ginger. I'm not sure why the delay occurred but things did speed up for other diners later onbut I'm sure there was a satisfactory explanation.

Myself and my partner went for what we thought would be a nice Sunday carvery as we had heard nothing but good reviews from friends. However, the attitude of the staff and service was abysmal. When at the counter where you select your meats I was asked what meat I would like I said none thank you as I am vegetarian (there was no substitute like there is in most places- usually a nut roast) or even asked if I would like a extra Yorkshire pudding. Nothing at all! I proceeded with a plate of veg etc sat down and the food was ‘okay’ I then ordered a desert and glass of coke. The desert came, and still no drink after nearly 20 minutes. We then went up to pay I stated to the member of staff I had not received the coke and to please remove it from the bill to which she said quite rudely ‘it’s not been added anyway’ no apology! I then mentioned I had a veggie carvery, to be told it’s the same price as a normal carvery, with no substitute! I said that’s bad as meat is the most expensive part- most places charge slightly less for vegetarian. A very rude manager then piped up and said ‘well you get more choice here than anywhere else’ the young girl serving us then gave me dagers and stared at me until we left the building. I have never received such poor and disappointing service before!! The staff treat the customers as if they are a nuisance and customer service is clearly at the bottom of their priorities! Think twice about coming here for lunch if you would like a nice meal with atmosphere and good service!

We have eaten here once before & enjoyed the carvery on a Sunday. Unfortunately our 2nd visit was disappointing. Our drinks order taken at the table took ages to arrive. The variety of vegetables is huge. But this definitely shows up in the quality. It really is average at best. They should do at most half the choice but do it better. Packaged Yorkshire puddings, deep fried roast potatoes & parsnips & lost of dishes covered with cheese sauce that really does not go well with gravy. The meat was below average. We had to ask which meat the joint of beef was as it looked boiled rather than roasted. The beef was chewy & tasteless. The gents toilets need a total refurbishment, being run down & smelly & lastly the service at the bar is very slow indeed. Sorry. we did like the place the first time but not again. There are other places that still do proper yorkshires & roasties by the way.

This is a cavery and help yourself to veg set up. The queue was badly managed and the situation of the cavery ‘bar’ meant people were walking past with plates of food and drinks in a very cramped passage way . In addition to the kitchen staff who were coming out into the passage way. My son and myself and I had beef which was very very dry , I didn’t eat mine. I've been to The Bradford Arms many times and the Sunday Carvery is excellent. Amazing choice of vegerables and always have 3 meats to choose from. Staff are friendly and courteous. However, the smell today as you walk in was absolutely dreadful. At first I thought they must have a sewerage problem as I wasn't aware they were 'dog friendly' until there was a loud barking from a couple of dogs that were there. At this point I realised the awful smell that welcomed you, as you walked in, was actually damp dirty dog smell. I must admit, I've never smelt this before but was very glad we were in the very back room rather than the bar or the first room. This has made me think twice about going again but I can't take away the fact that their carvery is still the best and very reasonably priced at just £8.75 each. Please sort out the unwelcome dog smell on your premises. This will put a lot of customers off.

I hate going out for Sunday lunch as it never compares with my wife's masterful creation. But this is the only place that comes close. Enough said.

Lunch Monday in July – travelling towards Wrexham – pulled in – empty car park – ready welcome – menus at hand – seated – drinks order taken – 2 starters chosen from an extensive menu – large portions – me the pate with onion chutney – my wife a basket of tempura prawns with chilli dip – both came with substantial mounds of salad – both tasty interesting and well-priced – unexpectedly good choice – thank you

If you are hungry, then you have to eat here. This carvery is the best. There is plenty of freshly cooked vegetables and four meats to choose from. You can be assured of a good service by the friendly staff.

Visited on Sunday, pre booked as always busy, booked for 4pm which is later than we usually go but we found it the ideal time, relaxed atmosphere, attentive staff and still amazing food!! We had garlic mushrooms and prawn cocktail for starters, amazing!! Then went on to a vast selection from the carvery, faultless. We had a pint of shandy and lime and soda 4.60 we shall definitely return again even the front of staff was smiley. The only down comment I can make is answer the phone it took us 3 days to get through and book. But the food more than compensates for it.

Lovely cosy pub meal, very comfortable, friendly service, very attentive staff, tasty food at reasonable variety and prices. Little outdated decor but perhaps that adds to it’s character. Would recommend and go again.

Regularly meet up with friends here for lunch. The portion sizes are generous, I normally always have the fish and chips, the crunchily battered fish is the size of a whale, without a doubt, the largest fish I've ever had in a fish and chips meal. Service is efficient and the beers are good.

We have called in here on several occasions but most recently we visited two weeks in a row. The staff are very welcoming and the place is clean. There is a wide choice of food, we honestly took ages to decide. The food portions are BIG and my husband referred to his fish and chips as "Moby Dick" and chips. The pies and hot pots are very tasty as is all the food we have had. We haven't been to the carvery for a long time but from what i recall it was a good wholesome Sunday lunch.

We go on a Saturday night usually once a month. Kept promising ourselves we would do Sunday lunch, so we did. Had to wait a few minutes for our table. We had the carvery. It was a bit like queuing for lunch at school . It was hot standing in the corridor waiting our turn. There was a choice of four meats. I asked for beef and turkey, but ended up with pork and beef. Great selection of vegetables . I like my veg. My partner was disappointed with his sprouts, said they were undercooked . For my part, the sauces to go with the meats were empty. Overall we enjoyed our meal but it was very busy. Staff were pleasant as usual. Good value for money.

Today was my second visit for the Sunday carvery, the booked table wasn’t ready, when seated half heartedly there was no menu presented we had to ask, my friend is a vegetarian and there was cannelloni as a veggie option (which isn’t a roast) and no other alternative option apart from vegetables off the carvery to which she still got billed full price for, we did challenge the pricing and when I got up and went to the carvery I could hear the rude unhelpful staff talking about us in the kitchen which is totally unprofessional! I’m not a fan of white meat for a roast and wanted the beef, I had to wait 15mins for a “fresh” joint to be taken out this. This alleged “fresh” joint had been cooked within an inch of its life it was over cooked dry and crumbly to look at so I opted for the gammon ham (which I have to say was absolutely stunning!) we then proceed to dessert so I ordered sticky toffee pudding which actually was bought in treacle sponge and NOT sticky toffee pudding the very rude waitress who was wearing way to much make up and jewellery which is actually breaking food hygiene regulations argued with an unprofessional attitude with me and tried telling me it was sticky toffee pudding I’m a head chef in the trade myself I know what I’m talking about. So we come i the bill and third time lucky we finally got it right. Needless to say I will not be visiting again we didn’t even get so much of an apology. If I was the manager/owner I would sharpen up on the customer services you provide as it is absolutely shocking!

Visited here for Sunday lunch after a recommendation from a friend... arrived to a poor welcome and my booked table not ready. First sign of things to come was when I was served my drink in a dirty glass, the bar girl did kindly change this but it all went down hill from there! We were sat at our table with no explanation of how to order or what was on offer. After asking it was explained it was a Sunday lunch offering only, being a vegetarian I asked what the offering was to be told it was cannelloni not what I expect to be served with a carvery, she also explained I could just have a plate of vegetables- how appetising! In the end this is the option I chose as I really didn’t fancy pasta and roast potatoes to be told it would be the same price as a meat carvery!! My sons roast beef looked like the beef had been cooking for a month, it was so bad he put gravy on it just to be able eat it (he doesn’t like gravy). Then came the brought in microwave dessert. The bill was wrong 3 times and absolutely no apology just a bad attitude and a scorned face. Will not be returning.

Our walking group booked here last year and were impressed with the Standard, Quality and Quantity of food so we booked again for this year 2017. There was 46 in our group and all ordered their preferences, the starters were served in a timely and orderly manner, Soup, Melon and Breaded Mushrooms, The Mains were served with the same manner along with the copious amounts of vegetables, the Deserts were of a similar standard.

Decent carvery for the money. Gravy’s always a bit toxic and the meat could be better, but you get what you pay for. Feels a bit like a school canteen in the back room. Have used various times before and will do again.

The table was booked for 7-30 pm. Everyone arrived on time and we were soon having an aperitif thanks to the very efficient lady tending the bar. The waitress taking our orders was very friendly and knowledgeable so that we all new exactly just what we were ordering. By 8-30pm all of our party had been served, great service! Prior to the meals arriving we had ordered some very nice Merlot to accompany our various choices and it was a very good choice. Once again the wine was served by the lady tending the bar. The meals at the Bradford Arms are spectacular both in looks, taste, variety and quantity and are a must for anyone with a good appetite. Just three of the party had room for dessert the rest of us were nicely full. All that remained was for a final cup of percolated coffee and my birthday party was over. It is worth pointing out that two of the party had different eating requirements one being vegetarian and the other gluten both of these can be catered for at the Bradford Arms.

Visited this lovely pub for a drink last night. We were welcomed at the entrance by the staff. The smell of the food was so good then we decided to eat something. Ordered the Chicken goujons as a starter to share. Half an hour later we got our starter it was completely burnt and had no taste. We know the pub seems busy on a Friday night but again we waited another 20 minutes for our mains. My sea bass was completely burnt again and the new potatoes didn't even taste good. Sorry this isn't the right pub to eat at. We definitely won't be back.

My husband and daughter had the beef. Vegetables were cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend this pub for Sunday lunch ☺️

It's the second time we've been in the last two weeks & each time had great food & service. There is a new manager who has improved things & we're looking forward to going again. Last time I had the mixed grill from the specials board which was fantastic. Not only good food but good value too. I've been recommending The Vine to friends since.

Planned a trip out to this place. Got there and it wasn’t even open even though Google said it should have been. Disappointed. 😔 (Seems I’m supposed to be a mind reader from the reply). Can only leave a review based off what I find, and when we had traveled especially to visit this place and find it shut how else am I meant to review it. 5 stars? 😆
