We met family at the Vine for a quick drink on the Bank Holiday weekend. Father in law treated us to a couple of cold ones in the beer garden and the Vine has treated us to a £100 fine on the doormat as we've walked in from our holiday. Whilst I understand they don't want people to park there to take a walk on the canal, we were genuine customers who have now being stung. Doesn't make us feel like going again! ☹️

A warm and friendly canalside pub. We were a party of 16 out for lunch celebrating a reunion. We all ordered a mix of the menu - no easy task for our two waitresses who couldnt have done more for us. Efrin and Ellie served us with patience and a smile and the Manager Naomi was very much hands on in the pub. Food was very good with a varied menu and was well presented. On returning home up North I discovered I'd lost my purse. I rang The Vine on the off chance I'd lost it there and I had! Naomi the manager took my address and sent the purse back to me - thats great service! 😊

Upon arrival the bar staff were very pleasant and helpful. We ordered our drinks and then sat to view the menu before ordering our food, slightly surprised to have to ask for the kids menu only to be told that they had none printed off and expected to remember the options verbally given to me from the bar staff. Ordered the children's burger meal (had to pay extra for a cheese slice), a chicken and sweet chilli wrap with chips, a cheese burger with a salsa style sauce and a side of chips as ordered the children's meal with garlic bread. Cheese burger meal was a great portion, amazing quality and substantial burger. Salsa sauce far too sweet for my liking but a very personal opinion obviously. Chicken wrap looked amazing but the sweet chilli was REALLY sweet. Children's meal - the burger was a pathetic excuse for a burger - the same diameter as the main menu burger that I had but literally wafer thin and far far inferior quality. Very upset as the place used to not differ between the quality of children's menu and 'grown up' menu.

I’ve always loved the Vine, its location and its quaintness. But unless they start to change their ethos and start to treat the people they employ with respect, I won’t be visiting or recommending. Zero hour contracts, dropping people with an hours notice and only giving shifts just to fill in for someone or otherwise ignoring them, is not my idea of an ethical employer. It’s tough for young people atm with house and rent prices etc, so treating them like dirt doesn’t get my vote sadly.

Booked to park up in our camper. Quite a nice spot by the canal, although our view was a big hedge. Odd atmosphere when we went inside, 3 young male staff were catching up with their stories. Not generally a problem, but it turned to very loud chat about being so drunk that they vomited and left it to other staff to clear up (all early adulthood antics). Chats about urinating and what were probably funny stories amongst mates, but they worked there and we were guests. It is a business and not wanting to sound like my grandmother, not appropriate really. We left and won't return.

Came yesterday for Sunday lunch haven’t been here in many moons and last time it was a shambles; lots of things improved since. Beautiful setting sat along the canal on the decking for the last of the winter sun with our daughter and grandson. Was a bit of a wait for food and drinks but staff all really assertive and trying there hardest, was obvious they was short staffed but still the lady behind the bar who seemed to be the manager maybe did a superb job, another young girl I wish I got her name running food and drinks really polite and nothing too much to ask. We had a beef roast and my grandson had a children’s fish fingers and it all was delicious; the beef just melted in our mouth; well done chef. We most definitely will be returning. Well done guys keep up the good work !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Visited this place after going kayaking down the canal. It’s a shame as up to that point we’d had a good day. Ordered 4 pizzas and a kids Sunday lunch. After waiting for about 30-40 minutes, it had become obvious that our orders had been lost. Shockingly the same thing had happened on our previous visit. Finally got our food, but my pizza was burnt black around the edges. If you’re eating here, order through the app, as ordering with staff is a lottery.Pity, as it’s a nice location.

Met up with my sister, who along with a large group of friends, had brought their children for a team building canoe trip on the Stour. After the event everyone descended on the pub and ordered food at the same time. The pub was hosting a wedding party and the garden tables were continually busy. The food came at various times, there were no long waits. The pizza oven was on the go all afternoon. We had shared platters of ribs and seafood. That was a mistake as we ordered mains too. The platters were huge and fabulous. The mains we could not finish. The side order of homemade coleslaw was divine. The staff were constantly clearing tables and empty drinking glasses (plastic as we were outdoors) Great afternoon, great place to eat and socialise. Well done team.

The men really liked the local beer and we able to choose where we all sat . Mother in law had a seafood sharer to start with which was piled high with all sorts and she said that her pizza to follow was the best she'd ever had, they were made in the pizza oven, really light, very tasty and generous sized pizza. BEWARE OF MANAGERIf had a choice I would rate this as zero starsMy daughter came for a work trial, just turned 18 and applied via facebook, was advised work trial was for 4 hour- absolutely not a problem, with COVID restrictions in place outside dining/drinking only, the sun was out the place was packed with customers, at the end of her trial she was asked to stay on for another 2 hours to help out, which wasn’t a problem, all staff were rushed off their feet. NO BREAK throughout the work trial. Unprofessional in her behaviour to her staff & no training. My daughter didn’t get the job thankfully but when she asked the manager if she was going to be paid for the work she did, especially helping them out during the busy time , the manager aggressively told her she didn’t have to pay her legally, which is correct, but surely if she had no intentions of employing her then why ask her to stay on, employers like her are exploiting young people who are trying to earn a little money before they go onto university. Thankfully she found employment in another local restaurant with a real professional manager, think twice before you send your child to work there under the current manager !!

Maybe it was my network. The staff still shouldn’t laugh when your asking what to do. I ended up sitting in the patio area to get a drink to take to the garden area. The good points: nice location, friendly service. Not so good: anti-covid measures were half-hearted at best - sanitiser at the entrance, one way system (mostly ignored by customers) and a few slips of paper by the entrance with a notice saying 'leave details for track & trace if you wish'. But no info on what details were needed, and the box had lots of bits of paper in it - probably a day's worth, so no way to know who'd been in when. No masks or visors in use that I could see, and the cutlery & condiments were in a tray for everyone to help themselves. I got the impression it was a gesture and that behind the scenes no measures would be taken at all. The food was OK - nothing special, but adequate - felt cheap (though wasn't).

Ordered at the bar 2 drinks and 2 ciabattas and chose to eat outside as we had our dogs with us. Why this is the only pub i have ever visited that gives you plastic glasses to drink from outside (unless a large scale event is on) is purely baffling.Pub was dead, 12 guests at best.. Food arrived in 15 minutes and the ciabattas hadnt been cooked, they were stodgy and raw fresh out the packet. I had to take a few bites as coukdnt quite believe how bad a meal it really was. Both me and my parter fes the rest to the dogs who alsp were not impressed. The tortilla chips that accompanied the meal were also tasteless and stale, literally the only thing edible was the salad garnish. The barmaid was very helpful when i told her how bad the meal was yet the barman questioned that the ciabatta didnt need to be cooked. He went into the kitchen for 5 minutes only to return and say that i was correct and that the chef had just forgotten to cook it that particular day As the old saying goes anything will feed a hungry man, this experience made me question this saying. What should be the one of the best eateries around is a millon miles away from serving anything of any quality. I just dont understand why this pub has rubbish after rubbish landlord take it on.Avoid like the plague, if you cant make a basic snack how on earth could ylu be trusted to cook anything else.

It has a bar section and a restaurant, a terrace and a beautiful garden where it would be wonderful to sit on a sunny day, in particular when the open air bar and oven will be operating. The rating does not reflect today's situation and if one looks at the reviews since the new management took over some weeks ago they are invariably positive between 4 and 5. Hygiene is now impeccable (5/5 rating by the Food Standards Agency).Emma and her team have freshened up the place, inside and outside, and provide excellent service and food to a very high standard. We were made very welcome, service was impeccable and quick. We came for the first time under new management and had one of the best pub meals we've had in a while, with friendly service, a log fire and good beer. What else could you want on a winter's lunchtime? The meals were basic but well presented and the portions were generous (it's now 8pm and I'm still not hungry) and the price was reasonable too. We shared a starter and pud and had a main each for £12pp.

After a lovely walk on Kinver edge the four of us called into The Fine for lunch. Made very welcome with two dogs. Perused the lunch menu, ordered and had a reasonable wait as there a large party in the dining room. Not a problem. However the wait was not worth it! Two meals were ok, but the two "homemade lasagne" with garlic bread were dreadful. Top of the lasagne was burnet (but not hot) and then covered in cheese to hide the fact. The pasta was rubbery. The garlic bread was a slice of shop bought bread with garlic butter on one side!Waitress did offer to replace but thos time our partners had finished their meals, so declined. Will vote with our feet and not return!

First time we have eaten here since the new management... fantastic food. Everyone cleared their plates. Food was fresh and tasty, especially the homemade chips. Children’s meal menu is good and the food is as well cooked as the adult meals. Will definitely be revisiting

We went on a Saturday evening and although it is much improved from a pretty low standard, this pub could be the best in Kinver, but the new management are repeating the same mistakes as the previous array of managers. Decorating is average, with food over priced for what it is. Even down the the poor ales & same decor as two years ago! Not enough has changed.

Perfect evening here at The Vine, without writing an essay everything was great. Friendly and efficient staff and lovely home cooked food. The sticky toffee pudding was amazing! Everyone eating was really happy and it looks like the support of the locals is there. The management team should be proud of how they have turned this pub around. Keep it up!

Had sunday lunch here with family and it was lovely. Great food and friendly, good service. It was really busy and when we booked we were made aware that they had large tables in so there might be a delay but this didnt happen. Please give this pub a go. It has had some bad press in the past few years but I think it's getting back to the good old days when it was the place to go for good food and great a atmosphere in kinver.

We have given the vine a wide berth for a long time. However on seeing a board outside claiming 5 star hygiene rating we decided to give it a try. So very glad we did. Had an excellent dinner, and the pub is now e exceptionally clean. Reasonably priced and with a nicely balanced menu. We really hope people will start visiting this pub again. It would be a shame to lose it.

Just had a great dinner at the Vine (I had the seafood platter). The Vine is under new management, its got a 5 star hygiene rating (which it needed after the last but one manager) and its feeling like the Vine of 3 or 4 years ago. The new managers were friendly and chatty, the chef is producing great food and its great value. So if you knew the Vine of old then its time to go back and give them your business. We'll definately be back. If you live in the village you need to give them some business so that we don't lose this place for ever - well worth it.

Visited The Vine at Kinver for the first time this week for lunch and were very impressed. Talking to the manager I understand that this was only the second week at the pub for her and her team, so would have expected a few teething problems. But no! The food was lovely and the staff were so very welcoming. We had the lunch menu which was 2 courses for £12 and we couldn't fault it. The Vine occupies a unique location by the side of the canal and I would imagine it could be an amazing place to enjoy a meal outside in the summer months and watch the canal boats sail by. We look forward to many more visits and would recommend a trip here to anyone. It will be very exciting to see how the new team develop the business if they can achieve this level after only a few days. Well done!

We came upon The Vine after a three mile walk along the canal. It had only been reopened for a day so we weren’t expecting much. However, we were pleasantly surprised by both the quality of food and the amazing customer service. The food was a baguette with chips and salad. Now there wasn’t an awful lot of choice but it was delicious. The guy who served us,both at the bar and as a waiter, was called Mike ( I think) and he was lovely, couldn’t be more polite and helpful, such a nice guy. My husband wants me to add that although there were only a couple of draught ales available, he chose the HPA which was very pleasant.

Waited well over one hour 15 mins for food (if you can call it food). Initially tried to order off the specials board only to be told they had nothing on there, limited drinks which were running out, still people trying to order off the board (why not wipe it off to save time). I started to fear the worst when the group on the next table got up and all four of them had left a load of food. They are now telling customers there is a 1hr 45 mins wait for food so people were walking out but it wasn't particularly very busy. Worst meal I have ever had. Tiny over cooked steak, onion rings with no onion in, chips looked like yesterdays. Someone said they ran out of beer the day before, It seemed totally disorganised. We would never go there again.
