We wanted to recommend this lovely cafe as not only did we get a really delicious cream tea , but the man who runs it with his wife went out of his way to accommodate us. We were on a short visit to Devon and so excited to have a cream tea - it was late in the day but he kindly put more scones in the oven and allowed us to stay on after he should have closed! So we had warm scones with all the trimmings. He also had a selection of home made cakes so we were able to take those with us . Huge thanks to him for his kindness and to his wife who is obviously a superb baker !

We visited this wonderful place whilst on holiday and it’s absolutely stunning. I loved the detailed decor and the vibe. The food is all made freshly on site. We had cake and coffee and my son had the vegan beans and sausage on toast and it’s safe to say we have all devoured our food.

Really fancied a coffee and a sandwich, saw this place and went in. It’s an arty cafe run by a local family who were very welcoming. It’s tastefully decorated with good background music which gave a really relaxed vibe to the place. The coffee was extremely good and the smoked cheese and red onion was mouth watering. I certainly will be returning when in Barnstable.

We came to Craftys with a group of friends and had a thoroughly great evening. The food & wine was exceptional and the service was the perfect mix of friendliness and professional. Very highly recommended.

Had the best cup of coffee to be found in Barnstaple while my daughter had her skateboard refurbished. Friendly owner and just how a local business should be!

Asked on FB if anyone could recommend a cafe for breakfast that did a nice fried slice. Was immediately recommended Harry’s so this morning my wife and I gave it a go. First impression was nice and clean and a lovely friendly welcome. My wife and I both ordered the ‘5 items’ plus a fried slice for me which I paid extra for. My wife ordered a coffee and a pot of tea for me. After a short wait our food came out and I have to say it is the best breakfast I’ve ever had in Barnstaple. Good quality butchers sausage and bacon. Egg and mushrooms perfectly cooked and fried bread crisp and golden! Only slight niggle for me was the black pudding which was a little overcooked. Total price was just over £20 so very reasonable. All in all a great place to eat. We will be back!

Visited today with an old friend and cannot recommend this place highly enough. Lovely bright decor, relaxed and friendly atmosphere and the coffee is without doubt the best in Barnstaple. Stuart knows his craft and his coffee is the best I've tasted in years.

Great food fun locally and ethically sourced suppliers, prepared by someone who so obviously has poured their heart and soul into a great little stop. Excellent knowledge of every aspect of the menu, ingredients and suppliers I can't recommend this place for a setup wether is for a coffee and cake or a very decent lunch.

Latitude is usually my favourite go to place for food. However, after my experience this week I will certainly not be returning. We had a table booked for 7pm, we ordered drinks at the bar, which we were told would be brought over so we took to our table. The drinks too so long to arrive, nobody came to take our order for at least 45mins, some of the order arrived at 7:45 (1.5hours after our table booking!!) we had to ask for cutlery, plates, and missing items! Some of the food we ordered had sold out, we were told this either one item about 35 mins after we had ordered, the other was just missing off the platter so we had to enquire where it was, and then told it had sold out. The sauce for the steak arrived after the steak had nearly been finished. All of the food was barely warm, it had been sat under a heat lamp for a long time!! And the chicken was pink (not cooked!!) service was very slow, some staff were obviously new and didn’t know what they were doing. Very disappointed, 10% was taken off the bill but it didn’t make up for such a disappointing evening. Restaurant was cold, we were sat with coats and scarfs on. Very disappointing.
