From the minute we walked in we were greeted by very friendly staff who did there upmost to make us feel welcome...the food was amazing and the steak was perfect!! We were celebrating our marriage and the Manager went above and beyond to make our evening special 🥰🥰

We had visited in the past and really enjoyed the food here but it was apparent that they were not able to cope with a larger number of diners on New Year’s Eve, even though we had pre-booked a table so they had an idea of how many diners they were going to have. Very little food was left on the menu. Everything we tried to order, we were told was not available so after 3 attempts, it got to a point where we ordered things we didn’t really want. When the food arrived, some of it was also cold and had been waiting around for a while to be served. There were also no desserts on the menu which was disappointing. Such a shame when it appeared to be a good menu with lots of choice, the staff were polite and there was a good atmosphere.

Food was really tasty and plenty of it. 😊 Music a bit loud at times but that's just me 😜

The gourmet burger fad is still alive and thriving in Barnstaple at Latitude 48. Where it’s hard to tell which is more saucy: the cheeky names of their dishes or the food itself. The girls had the Flatbread chicken which they enjoyed enormously, the crispy skin of the chicken was delicious and generously portioned. The old man had the classic cheese burger and didn’t complain once, that itself speaks volumes. I had the bitchin chicken which was humongous. Skillfully grilled with perfectly balanced additions of cheese and salady bits. Unfortunately I didn’t have room to finish the firey chips. The staff are very attentive and friendly, mum and dad both got free shots because it was their birthday where as I enjoyed some good local ales. All in all a most enjoyable experience Im looking forward to repeating soon.

Loved this place! Service was great the staff were all lovely, attentive without being over bearing. We got started with some enjoyable drinks while we perused the menu. It was hard to choose as it all sounds delicious. We had the truffle mushrooms to share as a starter and wow. Creamy, garlicky, buttery and perfectly balanced with no one flavour overwhelming the dish. I could quite happily pop in there and have that for lunch any day of the week. It was very tasty and a comforting, warming dish in the cold. I had the smoked ribs and my husband had the big 48 burger and what can I say but yum. The smoked ribs were sticky and had a lovely bbq sauce that wasn't stupidly sweet but again nicely balanced. The meat fell off the bones, and you could really taste the lovely smokey, char grilled flavour of the meat. The sides were great and the skin on chips crisp, fluffy on the inside and weren't greasy. My husbands burger looked fantastic and he thoroughly enjoyed it, there wasn't a single bite left. We enjoyed every mouthful of this delicious dinner. The atmosphere was great, music wasn't too loud and you are in good lighting. On a side note I use an electric wheelchair and the interior and exterior are accessible. I popped down I was in a chair on the online reservation and there were no problems. Their layout already accommodates a wheelchair easily, no tables had to be moved for me to get through the restaurant or to be placed at a table. There is an accessible toilet and the smoking area out back is also accessible. For me it was a lovely experience from start to finish with no panicky concerns because of the chair. Really enjoyable evening and we will definitely be going back several more times!

Been out eating with friends in latitude 48 and WOW, the food was amazing, very tasty. The staff was very professional and had a lot of knowledge on the speciality beers and spirits. Would recommend latitude to anyone visiting or that live local.

The staff are always amazing, the service is really good, the atmosphere is the best, the pool table and games are good fun, the food is really good with great portion sizes!

Had lunch here today and it was absolutely gorgeous, I’m vegetarian and the options were varied and sounded delicious. I had a garden burger and halloumi fries and was gutted to not be able to finish it as it was really good. Love the vibe of the place, the staff were all friendly and it’s dog friendly too. Will most definitely visit again! A+++

We called in for a "light lunch" today and I ordered the Dee-Dog. Oh my word, it was delicious, huge portions, and the utmost quality. I was in a food coma for the afternoon. The smoked brisket melted in my mouth. Couple that with a great venue and brilliant staff - why go anywhere else? It is hands down the best restaurant in Barnstaple.

If you're looking for a fun place to have a drink or some great food this is arguable the best place in town to go. Great selection of drinks and the food is great! Highly recommend the steak fondue and one of their great selection of beers!

Nice clean modern bar and restaurant. I like the decor. Pool table,pinball and street fighter games to play and pass the time while drinking. Chanced upon this restaurant and was very impressed. Dog friendly, very welcoming staff, nice decor, great food (lots of interesting dishes) and really good prices (cheaper than chain restaurants!). I had the Sloppy Joe which was one of the best burgers I've ever tasted whilst the beer was tasty. If only this place was nearer where we live - we'd be regulars. The owners and staff should be proud of the place

I've been to Latitude 48 a lot since it first opened and have always been a massive fan, but recently they just seem to have stepped it up a notch! So much so that I felt like writing a review, not something I normally do! I recently went there with 3 colleagues from work and we shared some starters before I had the most incredible full rack of ribs you've ever seen! The meat was perfect and had an awesome smoky flavour which I'm told they do in-house. Quantity is usually an issue for me as nowhere does enough food, but this wooden board of chips, rings, slaw and ribs actually beat me! Washed it down with some of Beavertown's finest and had a quick game of Street Fighter on the way out! It's the only place I recommend when friends or family come to the area and the only place I opt for with colleagues. Easy 5 stars.

First visit on Friday evening. Staff were great - very welcoming and helpful. Food was good. I had the Falafel burger which was very tasty. The atmosphere was spot on. We will be coming back - I think the problem will be deciding what to eat as couldn't help but look at all the dishes coming out and everything looked so good.

Shocking service for take away drinks cheep dingy paper cups/not how a real decent milk shake should be presented an served for a takeaway of it was decent in the first place no real ice cream just milk an syrup for the price you pay wouldn’t go a miss for a real decent milkshake an take away cup

Too many ciders and beers to try in one visit! And before I got to try em they've rotated on to even more great looking neck oils! 😎 Had a few games of Shuffleboard with mates which is a skill I need to improve on - a lot! I will be back in August for the next Street food kitchen change and some summer beers in that great little sun trap out the back 😍

We were trying to decide on somewhere to eat for our daughters birthday. We have been to latitude for drinks many times and liked the atmosphere in the evening. We then decided to go for lunch and we are very glad we did. Food was great and reasonably priced and the staff were also great! Good range of drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic. Would definitely recommend going here for food or drinks or both!!

Latitude 48 is a must-visit! Their 12-ounce ribeye steak was absolutely stunning, and the portion size was so generous that it guaranteed satisfaction. You won't leave hungry! 🥩😍

Stopped in here for lunch whilst staying nearby on a busy Saturday in July. I opted for the Big 48 burger, which at nearly £17 is definitely not a cheap burger, but wow, what a burger. It was indeed big, and the flavours were amazing....

Superb; Wife and I dropped in for food before a film and was very impressed. Staff were friendly, love the buzzer system!! Food was great - Had crab cakes, and they actually tasted of crab (I know, but I've had loads of poor versions that are more potato than meat); The Big Fat Chicken platter was great, BBQ beans a perfect accompaniment, my wife had the ceaser salad with steak and it was a huge portion but all enjoyed. Price with a couple of drinks £50....well worth it.

Dog friendly! Great atmosphere in a busy and beautifully decorated place. Loads to choose from on the menu for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. I had the falafel flatbread, it was a decent sized portion! Very tasty and at £8.50 for the flatbread, crisps and side salad, reasonably priced as well. They serve alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. The service was efficient and friendly. There's a cube on the table which you can light up when you want to order and when you're ready to pay the bill which was a nice touch. Would definitely return

Really nice place, the burgers, milkshake and all the beverages we had were perfect. We were there yesterday at around 1300, the place was not too busy, but importantly the food was put out immaculately, well priced and clearly well run. I'm not into drinking alcohol much, but I could see the standards of the cocktails being sent out from the open bar area, were high quality indeed. Me and my daughter eat a lot of burgers and Latitude 48's burgers were a solid 10 out of 10.

Grubby as hell. Staff were miserable and don’t no how to smile. Table and menus were greasy as hell. Was full of parents getting drunk while their young children were running about. Basically if you’re in Barnstable avoid the place

Definitely the best bar in North Devon by a long way. Fantastic craft beer on tap, with regular new additions, which adds to the variety on offer so you never get bored. Whenever I visit I’m always excited to discover what new beers are available....

What a nice place, where our large dog (shepherd) was very welcome, even when she became a bit nervous and restless and started barking. Delicious food (salad & hamburger & fries). Music was just a little too loud for me. Recommended!

Don't order a cocktail unless you want to wait 20+ minutes for it. Dread to think how long the food takes to come.

Fabulous evening out (4 couples) we'll definitely be back - fantastic choice of food - we had vegan and vegetarian in our group too. Food for a table of 8 came out quickly and together which we find a struggle in some restaurants. Excellent cocktails...

Really enjoyed my visit to what describes itself as an "Ales and Eatery" which certainly delivers. Staff really friendly and helpful, insisting that it is their pleasure to provide table service which is summoned using the magic cube on each table. Interesting range of familiar and new (to me!) draft ales and loads of pretty exotic looking bottles on shelves which probably compliment their vast range of cocktails (sadly untried). Food has a good twist on familiar items covering the range of starters, salads, mains and (especially) burgers. Beware though ... they do generous portions!

Have been here a few times and love it, just disappointed that we tried to book a table for 15 people, to which we were told to email as the staff can’t take bookings for that many people only the owners?! So sent a message via fb, cannot cater for 15 people in the evening on a Saturday night!! Lost out on £££. So won’t recommend for parties!

Really good service from the young girl at the bar. Ordered two burgers to be taken away as in a rush, both without cheese. Both came smothered in cheese. Straight in the bin, and £25 wasted, sadly. *Update - the issue was quickly resolved by the extremely helpful owner Liam. Five star establishment and service. Awesome burgers and great range of drinks. Easily one of the best places to eat and drink in Barnstaple.

I have to say that it felt a bit too trendy for me when we went in. However, we were made to feel welcome and that was the end of that feeling. The food was well prepared, plentiful and tasty, and the ale was well looked after and there was a good selection (although not ones I had come across before). The light up cubes on the table with which you draw attention to the staff are a brilliant idea, and meant that you were quickly attended to without the fuss of trying to get someone's attention. We were pleasantly surprised at the bill at the end of the evening which was less than anticipated. I would happily go back.

4 stars given for service only because our cocktails were horrible BUT we did send them back and the staff tasted it and agreed. Our drinks were exchanged. They do take a long time to make the cocktails but when right they are excellent. The atmosphere and food is fantastic 👌

Good Atmosphere, Service, Choice and Value! Food is really Good, Plates are massive and cooked fresh, Coffee is Amazing, the staff are always friendly and they have my favourite beer. 2 Coffee's, Orange Juice and a Massive plate of Loaded chips with pulled pork, less than £20 🤯 Amazing decor, and even have Street Fighter & Pinball. Definitely my favourite place to go in Barnstaple. Thank you everyone.

Had a classic cheese burger which was decent enough but they were a little stingy on the gherkins lol 😆 cocktails also arrived same time as the food, so could be a little quicker there but overall great bar.

Very disorganised, had to pre order which is fine but you expect meals to come out together not sporadically. Waited well over an hour for ours so ended up cancelling our meal and we weren't the only ones. Very disappointed!
