Asked on FB if anyone could recommend a cafe for breakfast that did a nice fried slice. Was immediately recommended Harry’s so this morning my wife and I gave it a go. First impression was nice and clean and a lovely friendly welcome. My wife and I both ordered the ‘5 items’ plus a fried slice for me which I paid extra for. My wife ordered a coffee and a pot of tea for me. After a short wait our food came out and I have to say it is the best breakfast I’ve ever had in Barnstaple. Good quality butchers sausage and bacon. Egg and mushrooms perfectly cooked and fried bread crisp and golden! Only slight niggle for me was the black pudding which was a little overcooked. Total price was just over £20 so very reasonable. All in all a great place to eat. We will be back!

I had heard so many good reports about Harry’s that I thought I’d give it a try today. Decided to go there for a breakfast with my wife this morning. Both myself and my wife opted for their mini breakfast where you pick 5 items that you would like. Well, we were not disappointed, the food was excellent and of a very high quality, the service was outstanding and staff really pleasant and couldn’t do any more for you. The surroundings were lovely and enjoyed our visit. Will definitely be going regularly now after sampling their food etc. lovely menu with plenty of choice. I highly recommend this place!

Harry's is our family's cafe of choice when it comes to breakfast. Food is always great quality, service is friendly and everything is reasonably priced.

This is an amazing place, the staff are so friendly and the breakfast outstanding. Everything was cooked to perfection, a big thank you to the chef, the chips were a nice touch too. It’s a small place, would suggest to maybe book a table as they are so popular it gets busy very quickly. We were lucky we got a table, will book on future as it’s well worth it. Thank you to everyone at Harry’s for a great experience from start to finish.

First time visiting after a recommendation. Really friendly staff and an excellent full English breakfast. The bacon and sausages are of good quality like butchers. I’d definitely go again.

Undoubtedly the finest breakfast this side of the Irish Sea. A silver lining in what is a thundery black cloud that is modern Barnstaple.

Found this little gem as we were wandering around Barnstaple. Amazingly welcoming, especially as I use a mobility scooter which can cause problems, mainly due to my driving! Great menu, lovely food, freshly cooked. We will be back 🙂

While trying to find somewhere to get a sandwich in Barnstaple, we stumbled across this little gem. We have been to Barnstaple before but never to this street. Our bad directions served us well. We were met with warmth and showed to our table, given our menus and given time to look. We chose two sandwiches; tuna and cucumber, ham and cheese. The food was absolutely great! The granary bread was fresh, top ingredients and serve with a lovely salad and amazing homemade coleslaw. The sandwiches were very tasty and filling and the staff including the owner took time to chat. I will definitely be returning again (maybe today), to sample other items on the menu. Well done Harry’s

Popped in for lunch. Friendly waitress saw me to the table, chatted over my order and then had a great meal. Nice old fashioned service, good local produce and reasonable prices. Seemed to be plenty of locals there, always a good sign to see repeat business from the towns residents!

Visited here at the weekend for brunch. I had eggs benedict with black pudding and my sons has loaded chips with bacon and brie/cranberry sauce. I also had the best hot chocolate

We had lunch here on a gloomy November Saturday, a ray of sunshine we found in Harry's. Freshly cooked hot and delicious food. Friendly and genuine staff . Highly recommend this little gem.

We stopped here on our travels for breakfast, WOW such a gorgeous breakfast! Hot, delicious and plenty of it. The lovely ladies were chatty and because we choose filter coffee we had a fill up too, awesome way to enjoy such a beautiful breakfast. Thank you chef and ladies :0)

Great cafe. Passing through Barnstaple we stopped for lunch and we’re really pleased we found this excellent place, dog friendly too. So dog friendly in fact that she was given a sausage as a treat whilst we ate lunch. Good cafe food from a quite extensive menu of cafe staples and more bistro type food. Both ladies serving, one was the owner, could not have been more friendly and welcoming. What a really great place to lunch (all day breakfast too….!).

A gem of a cafe that has a really nice feel inside and the food is superb and very reasonable. Portion sizes are generous and everything is fresh with lots of local produce. Everyone loved it and you may miss it as it’s just away from the high street. Try it and you will love it.

Harrys has got it right. It specialises in Full English Breakfasts and much more, but Greasy Spoon isn't, although prices are very reasonable. Most of the breakfast we were served was made using local produce -the bacon and sausages being particularly tasteful. If you don't want one of the ingredients, they'll make it up with a larger portion of something else if you ask. Teas are also a cut above the norm - I had a Clipper Tea Lemon and Ginger tea. The staff are delightfully friendly, and the place has a lively vibe. I noticed that high chairs are provided for babes, too, so everybody is welcome.

Excellent healthy treats. Very friendly service from a couple who care about the planet, your health and their little business passionately. With backgrounds in health and food they are a great combination. It’s lovely to pop in for a morning smoothie bowl on the way back from the beach. Their humous sourdough has a great variety of toppings and stew Friday music nights are great entertainment in a warm summer evening you can eat watch feee music and play ball games with the kids. ONLY OPEN IN THE SUMMER THOUGH.

Great food fun locally and ethically sourced suppliers, prepared by someone who so obviously has poured their heart and soul into a great little stop. Excellent knowledge of every aspect of the menu, ingredients and suppliers I can't recommend this place for a setup wether is for a coffee and cake or a very decent lunch.

Shame that this has closed and we were so fortunate to get there on the last day before it did. When we saw that it was still number one and also award winning, we had to return and we're not disappointed. We just hope that the other cafes in Lynmouth rise to the standards set for future visits.
