Got coffee and doughnuts on our way home from holiday without expecting much. The doughnuts were actually proper doughnuts and not the bready things you normally find, and the coffee itself was really good. Now I understand why it was so busy

This is a good cafe. Many cafes offer excellent quality coffee and a choice of cake etc. This is what people want and this cafe delivers. I must say, I love their story (see website) and I think customers buy into that. We all love people with great attitudes and resilience. Even though I was only there for 3 days, I made it my 'local!

Coffee was lovely and strong and service was great with very friendly staff. Unfortunately did not offer any flavoured syrups, only agave, and the paper takeout lid wasn’t very good and disintegrated very quickly. I would recommend eating in rather than taking out!

Love Heartbreak Hotel Coffee for their tasty coffees and baked goods. They also have a weekly run club on Saturday mornings, which I try to attend as often as possible. The run club is welcoming and usually has a nice mix of locals and visitors to chat to and the routes vary every week so you can enjoy a run, chat and some of Devon’s finest views at the same time - followed by a well deserved coffee and treat afterwards.

Whilst the service I experienced was pleasant, an older couple came in asking if they did sandwiches and were essentially laughed out of the shop. Without turning their head to even look at them one of the male members of staff said they might get one done the road at CJs. The lady who was working did at least point them down the street in the right direction but it was obvious that once the they had left the 3 staff were clearly ridiculing and laughing at their question. Even if they think they’re better than the humble sandwich it just wasn’t a very unpleasant way to treat someone.

To be honest I didn’t expect to stumble across something like Heartbreak Hotel Coffee in Braunton. It looks distinctly different to what you normally find on the north Devon coast, and provides far better coffee than most other places on the north Devon coast. We visited it every day we were staying in Braunton. Coffee is well priced, extremely tasty and the service is very friendly. The doughnuts / donuts they sell on Friday and Saturday are also excellent. If you’re travelling through to any of the beaches I’d highly recommend stopping off in Braunton to pick up a coffee here.

What a fabulous find! We decided to journey up along the coastline away from the busy main beach and ventured toward the Watersmeet Hotel where there are two lovely bays just perfect for rock pool hunting and the surf. My daughter had a great time here where the beach was quieter although when the tide came in we had to clear away a little earlier so packed up and headed up the stairs. at the top of the stairs is a lovely grassy area where you will find the Heartbreak Hotel (toilets too which is always good to know). We all needed some kind of refreshment after those stairs and I was recommended the Dirty Chai Latte by the lovely Barista (sorry I didn't catch your name). Well he wasn't wrong, it was superb! We had packed our own scones, cream and jam and so we enjoyed a cream tea with a wonderful view and the children played on the grass. I think if i had seen any of those doughnuts I would have definitely swiped one of those too. It's a fab place to grab a bite to eat and a fantastic coffee or tea. You guys should paint a yellow brick road all the way from the main drag as I'm sure lot of the visitors don't venture that far along. I wish you a long, happy and successful business!

Heartbreak Hotel Coffee is about 10 mins leg-stretch away from the centre of Woolacombe and serves as a much-needed retreat from from the chaos of Marine Drive. Located in a converted horse box on the north end of the Esplanade, opposite Coombsgate Beach, it is a quirky outpost that offers high quality coffee and hot chocolate with a smile. Served in compostable cups and with plenty ocean front seating available for those of us that value and welcome the great outdoors, Heartbreak Hotel Coffee was a welcome sight on a windswept November day by the sea. Five Stars.

Visited this lovely little coffee stop whilst on a short break to north Devon. This place is a must if you are into coffee or just want a decent cup from a good honest independent. Clearly the team who own / run this place understand coffee and take time and care to ensure you enjoy a great drink. Triple shot flat white was absolutely top class made by a skilled barista. Also indulged in a lemon and poppy seed cake which was great too. My partner (not into coffee) enjoyed a pink lemonade so don’t be put off if you want something other than coffee!! Stumbled across this horse box/coffee shop. The coffee is proper coffee!! Crafted brilliantly by Joe and Ella, it is well worth the trip up the road from the main beach. A good selection from Latte's, Mochas etc but the cakes are great! Especially the mini egg rocky road, fantastic sugar high! I would definitely recommend popping up to see the guys, getting a delicious coffee and enjoying the view from the box. This was so welcoming into what felt like the Chef’s home. It was cosy, the ambience was superb. The food was truly delicious and what was real, we felt we were part of the family. The tastes of the various dishes was just amazing and every dish was so different. The Chef was accompanied by his lovely wife and son who were amazing and helped make the family atmosphere with such a famous chef at the helm.
