A small friendly community café in Barnstaple. All cakes were £2 a slice. They took great care getting my order just right, the veggie breakfast was certainly one I'll return for AND take friends. Fried eggs were done perfectly. Actually, later in the meal I asked for wholemeal bread and butter to 'mop' up the plate, it was that Good. Enjoyed my lattes and fruit cake. As the café has limited seating downstairs be prepared to share or go upstairs. Personally enjoyed sharing a table with another lone diner, as the conversation was interesting. The other diner was a regular who enjoyed one of the daily specials. Dogs came in with their owners and were well behaved. Staff made you feel Welcome even though it was later in the day.

Shared a main and a side. Excellent food, freshly prepared, nice staff. Ful mudammas, lightly spiced fava bean stew, flatbread, roasted cauliflower & tahini yoghurt. Very filling, enough for two light lunch snack. 3 kimchini balls as a side. Chia and a turmeric Latte. To died for. Will return

Big portions, friendly owner. Little difficult to get to the bar sometimes when lots of local blokes stood there. Nice garden.

Love this cafe we visited a few weeks ago. The menu is reasonably priced given the focus on quality, making it a perfect spot for breakfast, coffee and cake—or even something more substantial. When we visited, I went straight for The Big One. They serve breakfast until 2pm which is great news if you’re a late riser or if you’ve been out the night before! The Big One is for those with an immense appetite (£14.95) but there are smaller options available. T went for the Ultimate BLT Handcrafted Sandwich (£11.95), swapping crisps for fries for an extra £2.25 from their lunch menu which also includes paninis, toasties and jacket potatoes to mention a few things. I can safely say that the cooked breakfast was an immensely satisfying plate of food. The meat is sourced from a nearby butcher and you could taste the quality; the bacon was thick and flavourful, and the sausages were meaty and dense. It came together like every big breakfast should—with lots of toast and a good cuppa on the side. The Ultimate BLT was an absolute behemoth—packed full of thick cut bacon and served with fries (a new option on the menu, swapped for crisps). The soft fresh bread kept packed sandwich together in a chunky bacon filled parcel – you need a big mouth to chomp it in one! Along with breakfasts and lunches, there are fresh cakes and their legendary waffles, for those with a sweet tooth you have plenty of choice. They're very dog friendly and willing to go that extra mile for customers 😍
