Really fancied a coffee and a sandwich, saw this place and went in. It’s an arty cafe run by a local family who were very welcoming. It’s tastefully decorated with good background music which gave a really relaxed vibe to the place. The coffee was extremely good and the smoked cheese and red onion was mouth watering. I certainly will be returning when in Barnstable.

Wonderful place for lunch. Excellent and very friendly service. Brilliant lunch - 100% recommend. (Dad would like to add, “great pasty, no air in pasty, even better 👍🏻”)

One of my best coffee experiences this year, the Coast and Moor coffee was brewed and served impeccably. The cake, to accompany, the coffee was also outstanding also!

Lovely little cafe on butchers row, great atmosphere with the big arched windows and uneven brick floor. Staff were welcoming and polite. I had a toasties and a latte. Coffee game needs a little work as it was over extracted and that lost the flavour for me. I'm sure they will get there, coffee is not easy. I would return again.

Barnstaple has a number of independent coffee shops but this one ticks all the boxes. Great ambiance, lovely cakes and sandwiches and the best coffee in Barnstaple.

Having had a pleasant experience of snacking at this coffee shop I went there for a coffee and a sandwich. The coffee arrived promptly but twenty five minutes later the sandwich had yet to appear and I had to leave.

We sat in for quick tea and cake. The cakes looked very impressive but we found they tasted bland. Additionally, the tea came in a filter glass which dripped when pouring and the milk in impractical pottery vessels, which also leaked when pouring. Definitely a case of form/fashion over function. The staff seemed friendly enough and service was quick. Not cheap but it has that air about it. Nice touch to include the option to pay for someone's drink in future who can't afford it.

What a fabulous little cafe, the hot chocolate tasted like chocolate ( not watery like so many places!) coffee was good. The cake was amazing and we purchased two Cornish pasties to go whilst there. Lovely rustic relaxed decor and great efficient, courteous service. Would definitely visit again.

Love this cafe we visited a few weeks ago. The menu is reasonably priced given the focus on quality, making it a perfect spot for breakfast, coffee and cake—or even something more substantial. When we visited, I went straight for The Big One. They serve breakfast until 2pm which is great news if you’re a late riser or if you’ve been out the night before! The Big One is for those with an immense appetite (£14.95) but there are smaller options available. T went for the Ultimate BLT Handcrafted Sandwich (£11.95), swapping crisps for fries for an extra £2.25 from their lunch menu which also includes paninis, toasties and jacket potatoes to mention a few things. I can safely say that the cooked breakfast was an immensely satisfying plate of food. The meat is sourced from a nearby butcher and you could taste the quality; the bacon was thick and flavourful, and the sausages were meaty and dense. It came together like every big breakfast should—with lots of toast and a good cuppa on the side. The Ultimate BLT was an absolute behemoth—packed full of thick cut bacon and served with fries (a new option on the menu, swapped for crisps). The soft fresh bread kept packed sandwich together in a chunky bacon filled parcel – you need a big mouth to chomp it in one! Along with breakfasts and lunches, there are fresh cakes and their legendary waffles, for those with a sweet tooth you have plenty of choice. They're very dog friendly and willing to go that extra mile for customers 😍
