The best restaurants serving Other cuisines food in Mendip South West

Parked in store car park, noticed cafe so decided to return after a visit to cathedral etc Returned at 1pm on a Sunday to find that the new quiche that was advertised on all tables was out of stock as were the next 4 different things we asked for off the menu board. Including jacket potatoes! Last time I looked Waitrose sell potatoes? Offered no suggested alternatives, poor service considering cafe open for another 4 hours

Staff unable to cope with just a few customers - must be really ppor when they get busy! Food was cold by the time they'd made my coffee (waited 15 minutes) Other people complaining as well

La casera y el personal de este pub parecen preocuparse profundamente por sus clientes, las bebidas que ofrecen, la ciudad de Glastonbury y su bienvenida. Mi propia elección de tipple, Stag, es fácilmente la mejor pinta que he disfrutado. ¡Este es un viejo pub! After spending about an hour wandering around and finding the shops I wanted to visit were the opposite side of the village to the car park, i was ready for the coffee break! Nice setting and if you had children (we didn't) it was adjacent to a children's play area

Got there and found out theyed been closed for a few months,not helpful as we had to get there by bus.No car.

I don't like leaving bad reviews, but unfortunately I have to this time. I like to support small businesses. Popped in for lunch on Friday. We waited over 45 minutes for 2 coffees. Then the food came 5 mins later. We always say we don't mind waiting a while for the food if we have some drinks to sup on... I hoped the food would be worth waiting for, but sadly not! I chose the brie, bacon and cranberry panini. Each half had just HALF a slice of bacon and the tiniest slither of brie I couldn't even taste it!! The bread was very dry and tasteless. The coffees were tiny, but very nice. It was our first visit and I had high hopes, but was thoroughly disappointed, sadly.

In September, a good friend, board member and resident of Somerset, took us on a three day tour of her “home area.” We visited Wells, primarily to see the great Cathedral there, but after that visit to the Cathedral, and surrounding sites, I declared “wine thirty,” so we headed to the pub in The Crown at Wells. First, The Crown at Wells is an inn, then next, a restaurant, and finally a pub/bar. It was in the latter, that we took a table. The wine list was short, and we got the Chablis, while our “tour guide” had coffee. The restaurant and pub/bar seem to be separated, and not just in the sitting areas. I approached the bar, to order the wine and the coffee, and was directed to the “other room.” Once around the corner, in the adjoining room, I walked up to that bar (same bar, but on the other side), and the same gentleman could now serve me. The bar area had two “windows,” and apparently one was for the restaurant side of the operation, and the other for the pub. This was rather odd to me, but I had a good laugh over it. Perhaps the bartender had a good laugh at me, going from side to side of that bar area? Also, I had to be certain to pay, on the correct side. All very confusing for this “Yank.” All service was friendly, and though the Chablis was served much too cold, we had an enjoyable hour, sipping wine and coffee, and recounting our busy day, and especially Wells Cathedral and its grounds. A comfortable pub for a bit of a pause, and some wine. If we had not had reservations to dine elsewhere, the menu looked interesting, and so long as I found the right side of the bar to order from, would probably have been very good. Neat, historic inn/pub, and worth our stopping in – just get instructions on which side of the bar to order from.

Booked the camp site no problem until we arrived to find the pub shut and has been for some time, looked on there web site still saying pub open until 11pm. The Rodney Stoke Inn is closed and the camp site people need to let people know when they book.

We popped to Glastonbury for a weekend and ate here Friday evening. Staff were friendly. Menu isn't vast, but what is on offer is varied enough. The food was delicious! All four of us thought so. The pudding order came incorrect, so we ended up having two for the price of one! Who wouldn't be pleased. Great atmosphere. Always book ahead, obviously popular.

Este lugar hace que Wetherspoons parezca un restaurante Marco Pierre White. No esperaba mucho y todavía estaba decepcionado. Debí haberme rendido antes de pagar, ya que era una lucha para encontrar una taza limpia para el café y la señora que servía casi no tenía habilidades de servicio al cliente y actuó como si nos estuviera haciendo un favor. Cuando llegó el desayuno Todo el día, llegué a la conclusión de que se llamaba así ya que había estado sentado en un plato caliente todo el día. La única parte de la comida que no estaba tibia era el tocino y que estaba fría como piedra. Los hachís estaban fríos y tan duros que podrían haber sido utilizados como discos de hockey sobre hielo. Incluso la tostada premantequillada estaba fría y flácida. Debió hacer frío en la placa caliente porque hasta los frijoles tenían abrigo. Para agregar insultos a las lesiones, tanto mi pareja como yo experimentamos vómitos y malestar estomacal más tarde ese día. Traté de plantear mis preocupaciones a la oficina central, pero no parecían preocupados y nadie me llamó como prometió.

Just had a wonderful 8 course Christmas Dinner here. An interesting menu and the food was of excellent quality . The service was paced perfectly and all the staff were friendly and very helpful.

If you like baked bacon that’s been stuck in a pot that’s cold, tasteless and hard, then this is the place for you! Just Awful.
