Today myself and my family visited The Kernow Lounge for the first time and what a delight it was. When we arrived Robin the owner welcomed us with a warm welcome and a friendly smile. First impressions of the coffee shop were what a cute little place this is especially the greeting from the resident dog who is just adorable and so friendly. There were lots of things to look at around the shop including hand made items made by residents of millbrook which customers can buy which I thought was a great addition, especially as these items were bright and colourful. Looking at the menu board and cake counter there was lots of choice. I chose a latte which was just so creamy and smooth (I’m quite fussy with my coffee), my son had a strawberry milkshake which was topped with cream and marshmallows and chocolate sprinkles which again was just delicious (I had to also give it the taste test)! My other son had a tub of vanilla ice cream which was by roskilleys and it was a generous sized scoop of it! Myself and my husband wanted to try the cake selection so ordered a piece of the chocolate brownie and a yoghurt topped raspberry flapjack slice which he said was just stunning. The chocolate brownie was so gooey and moist which is how I think brownies should be so that went down a treat! The portion sizes were really generous too. We sat outside which was lovely especially as the sun was shining and it was a warm afternoon. We really enjoyed our visit to the Kernow Lounge today and combined it with a lovely walk around a beautiful lake which also had a fantastic play park and skate park for the children. It really makes a brilliant family outing as there is something for the whole family to do. My boys have already told us what they are having next time so they clearly enjoyed themselves. Thanks to the Kernow Lounge for some lovely treats today, we will be back very soon.

Good coffee served by friendly owner. Good range of drinks (coffee tea chocolate decaf etc) and choice of milk eg skimmed, semi etc

We found our way to Freathy Farmhouse Cafe by following a sign from Whitsand Bay. What a lovely find! Very rustic and charming cafe. We sat outside in the sun and enjoyed very generous sandwiches served with delicious salad. Some of us even managed cake! We will definitely return although I understand it is best to check opening times. Ps Loved the decor in the loo!

We had heard about this lovely pub/restaurant from other friends recommendations and decided to visit it. We were most certainly not disappointed! I lovely welcome as soon as we arrived, a quaint and cosy area to sit, it has two areas a pub side and a restaurant side, we sat on the pub side because we had some dogs with us and quickly served our drinks. Extremely accommodating, welcoming staff truly service with a smile! We ordered for Sunday roasts one was beef, one was pork and two were three meat roasts with all of the trimmings, including Yorkshire pudding, and wow, what incredible food it was. Every slice of meat was cooked to perfection, and such a variety of vegetables on the plate which all so tasty and cooked to the best of standards. One of our party needed vegetable gravy due to not being able to have pork meat in it and this was accommodated for, another guest needed their meat cooked extremely well done and although at first it arrived cooked medium rare the staff soon rectified this and bought back the meat cooked exactly our guest liked it. Then we were onto desserts, such a great choice of desserts we were spoilt on what to order, however we went for, the Pavlova and fruit crumble with custard and both of these dishes were so tasty and so well presented! Living in Cornwall we eat in many different restaurants, and I can honestly say this is the best that we have found for a Sunday lunch. Cannot and will not hesitate to recommend this to anybodywe know , or anybody that breeds the reviews book up you will not be disappointed ! Recently visited for breakfast & found that this could be an amazing place; however, we didn’t find the staff very welcoming and the cleaning standards in the dining room are not up to scratch. There was food debris on the window sills next to the tables and the floor again needed a sweep. The tables were clean, so I would presume that the crumbs are just being wiped onto the surrounding surfaces rather than being caught and disposed? The cushions also need a clean as they have marks on them. The food itself was very good value for money & was served quickly and tasted fresh. I think the owners of this establishment would be disappointed that their employees are not keeping the cleaning and hospitality standards high.

Wish we had read other reviews first! Very disappointed, outside of hotel and views lovely inside tired and dated. Greeted by a sign on the main entrance explaining to go around the back of the building and ringing to be eventually answered by a polite but rather eerie character. There was no bar on offer over the whole weekend and no dinner available as he wasn't sure if his mother had been shopping!! Unfortunately the bathroom wasn't clean and the breakfast average. On the morning of leaving we received an email to say payment had been taken and we saw no one as we left, a very odd way to run a hotel business!

Possibly the best fish and chips I've ever had. Amazing handmade fish fingers sandwich. Very clean. Great view. Friendly service.

Oh my gosh, the fish and chips were incredible! They were cooked to order perfectly, with a crispy outer layer and a fluffy interior. And the portion was huge!

Arrived 10.30 am and was already busy. Was served promptly and with a lovely smile. Had the best sausage sandwich ever with a lovely strong cappuccino. Very well priced. Will definitely be back again.

Arrived here for lunch, walked in and said hello to the barman who ignored me and walked away. It was fairly busy, but seemed grubby, chaotic and disorganised. I was eventually acknowledged and told we could have a table, that we'd spotted ourselves. I went and helped myself to the paper menus and realised they were not exactly the same as what we'd seen on line. Nothing was marked as gluten free. When I asked the barman for a gluten free menu he went to ask in the kitchen and was told they were on the menu! He then managed to find one that had asterisks marked in pen by some dishes. By this point we were not feeling very confident, but this was the third place we had tried! My husband had the pork belly, son had fish & chips and I had a crab sandwich as the salad I wanted wasn't on the menu. The food was fine, although the chips were obviously frozen. My hubby hasn't been ill, so far so good! On the whole the food was ok, but the unfriendly welcome and lack of organisation were off putting.

Visited the Marina for a family lunch. Lovely setting, delicious food, great service. We will be back! 😁

The area is stunning and so much could be made of this place but the food was revolting. We had just done a long drive and had not realised that most food is not readily available early in the week or after 2pm so went to the cafe hoping to get at least a snack and take in the views. The menu was very limited ,the staff did not seem to know what was available and were more concerned with sitting chatting outside. We ordered burger and chips and were eventually informed this was a veggie burger. Having gone through the limited choices we settled on chicken burgers. These turned out to be chicken goujons in a bun with some chips in a plastic take away container. There was no salad, relish or pickles and we were informed they had run out of mayo but might be some if I searched through the other sachets which were just inside the door.. There was no cutlery ,no serviettes and I had originally ordered cheese for the beef burger but did not get a refund or any alternative offered. This disgusting meal cost just under £30 !!! As we left the staff were sitting out in the sun chatting with friends and one lady was eating ice cream from one of the big metal containers usually used for freezer storage. Health and safety? Trading standards? This place could be fantastic given the views and location but this might have been the worst meal we have ever eaten and price wise very poor value for money. We recommend that you avoid this place at all costs.
