Olives On The Cleave in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Possibly the best fish and chips I've ever had. Amazing handmade fish fingers sandwich. Very clean. Great view. Friendly service.

Had a lovely full Cornish breakfast, good quality ingredients and super friendly! Food was delish and sat right by the sea just fab 👍🏻

Terrible food The food was possibly the worst we have all had in a long time , what a disappointment! The small plates where overpriced and uninteresting . The chicken dish with chicken sauce was served with what tasted like bisto, ( nothing weong with bisto however in this instance not as described on the menu the mushrooms where old and tough, asparagus, over cooked and yellow, potatoes tasted precooked twice prior to serving and tasted horrible. Scallops - so spicy , over cooked and topping burnt, all ruined the delicate flavour of the scallop! Ham egg and chips with the interesting pineapple chutney( which they didn’t have ! )Was very!! average . Hake was a nice piece of fish with a disappointing sauce. The chef nipped out for a fag and i didn’t see him wash his hands. Absolutely awful! Nice waitress, polite and tried !

Seemed a lovely little cafe, only had drinks but they seemed very friendly and efficient, wished we had seen this place before our last day as would try the food, next time we visit the area will definitely will.

Fantastic food and great staff! Great choice on the menu drinks and food beautiful views from their restaurant. The food was beautifully presented filling and cooked to perfection. We even stayed afterwards for a hot drink and slice of cake that we couldn’t resist.

Highly recommend this lovely new place - we had lunch outside a few days ago, and decided to come back for dinner, and were not disappointed. We had a mix of starters to share including gorgeous scallops, fish mains all of which were beautifully cooked, and 2 of us managed da delicious dessert Nice relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, lovely view Loved it

This small cafe is very welcoming and friendly, the food was delicious and our dog was spoilt! Well worth a visit our mains were really good, Hake with vegetables and natural smoked haddock with spinach with poached eggs and sauté potatoes. Both were well cooked and presented attractively. Well worth a visit it cafe is overlooking the sea.

Great dinner with a sea view… Olives is a lovely cafe / restaurant overlooking the beach in Kingsand. We ate outside with the waves lapping below. The food was great - we started with a selection of small plates including Haloumi fries, Scallops and Olives. For our mains we tried the Hake and the Seafood linguine, both were freshly made and very tasty. We finished with a sticky toffee pudding and coffee. Every course was delicious and the chef and the waitress worked really hard to serve all the customers. Highly recommend.

Amazing in every way. We visited twice during our stay - once for coffee and cake and once for an evening meal. Sandy served us on both occasions and made us feel very welcome, even though we had a two year old who did not want to sit still (she involved him in conversation and offered a colouring book and crayons). Top service. She also offered advice on the wine and spent a lot of time with us ensuring we were happy. The food was outstanding, fresh produce and presentation was great. The chef was lovely and showed his face a couple of times- he was very welcoming and also spoke to our little one- another lovely touch. Location is perfect - on the sea front with views wherever your sat. Olives itself was decorated to a high standard and very clean and tidy. A solid 12/10 from us. Thanks again x

Excellent food , certainly not pub grub . Not cheap either but most restaurants aren’t any more . The service though was not so good . We felt a little hussled to choose the food and as we finished eating the waitress removed our plates one by one …. Not good. We also felt eventually we had to get our bill and leave because the waitress made us feel like she wanted to go home . At the end of the meal we asked for tea , but the tea /coffee machine had been turned of . We begrudgingly were given tea but not sure the waitress appreciated it . Food and location were excellent. Maybe a little more attention to actual customers might be nice .

Had a fabulous meal last week in Olives. The food is excellent. We are 4 real "foodies" and all ordered something different but all the meals were top class. It is great to find a chef that really knows how to cook seafood. Great location overlooking the sea and very friendly helpful staff. Definitely going back.

Great location. A lovely little cafe/restaurant. Very friendly, welcoming and efficient staff. Delicious food at reasonable prices. I have also had breakfast here.... they have a variety of options. Or I simply love to visit for a coffee.

Great service, great food which arrived sooner than expected as it was busy and a fantastic view. We will be back.

I would highly recommend Olives in Kingsand for its fantastic location to relax with a drink right next to the beach. There food is amazing and the staff are extremely friendly. I am a regular and nothing is to much trouble. You must visit to get the experience.

An absolutely lovely spot for breakfast. Couldn’t ask for a better setting when sat outside and had some delightfully fresh, local kippers.

I had read reviews about Olives and was delighted to make a booking to visit. I made the booking in person on the morning we wanted to have dinner, no problem, there was only one other booking. We arrived dead on time , and were told that our booking had been cancelled by phone. No one had phoned me to say that they were not honouring my booking. Very unprofessional . They do not seem interested in doing dinner at all. In the week I was there , they never opened in the evening once, and tonight , a Saturday , it is still shut. This will not work for long.

Advertises online and on the premises that they serve lunch daily until 1500. At 1440, on a sunny May day, we went inside to ask for a menu after being ignored when we sat down outside, only to be told they've stopped serving. Really poor.

Fabulous. Wonderful location, super friendly staff and great food at fair prices. Poached haddock and a seafood linguine. Plenty of shell fish with the linguine. Highly recommended.

Lovely beach front cafe doing great evening meals. Smallish menu but excellent range of dishes cooked perfectly. Very good range of wines. Staff excellent and very welcoming. Will certainly go back.

This is a great little place for brunch, lunch, or casual dinner, with a good tapas menu as well as all the usual lunch and brunch stuff you would expect. Tables outside with a great view of the water when weather is good.
