Never will we ever visit here again. Some woman that works there called Carol literally shouted at my children and snatched a table tennis bat off my 4 year old toddler even though he was doing nothing but holding it. She explained that she had to “reprimand” my children as they were misbehaving. We were merely sat in the beer garden. There was another child (not with us) who was throwing a watering can across the garden but nothing was said to him. Another ginger man told us that we couldn’t control our children! Our children are extremely well behaved and are on their holidays. They were playing with each other in the beer garden. My 5 year old began to cry and asked why we were being shouted at. Who shouts at my children and snatches off a toddler. We immediately left. We have a caravan local and were eating here quite often but I will never spend a penny here again. We have spoken to quite a few people and apparently she’s done it multiple times to other people’s children. Disgusting!

We recently stayed at seven bays park so went to the cafe for steak night, the end of season party night and Sunday roast. The food was fantastic and good value. The cafe was lovely and clean and spacious. It was dog friendly too which was great as we’ve struggled in the past to take the dogs into places. Would definitely recommend a visit there.

Large, casual site which is quiet with not many children. Not very well maintained or presented. Facilities tired and low quality. Quite a lot of pitch development/expansion going on though progress seems slow, making the site untidy. Very easy going though if you just need somewhere to drop, close to Padstow and Wadebridge.

I have read some of the other reviews prior to writing my own review, and totally agree with the other writers. Set in the Seven Bays Park, this restaurant offers great food at very affordable prices. The restaurant has been updated to offer a more modern feel, but not over the top. Food is cooked to order and I have to say is absolutely delicious. Prices as I say are great value. Not a lot more I can say really. Would definitely eat there again though.

Can not fault this place, keep the average food at the Cornish arms, with people eating there just cause it steins, in fact...let them, and keep the cafe for people who know.

The meat is always tender and noisy always a choice of 2 sometimes three, the veg changes regularly depending on season but always mustard mash, cauli cheese and you can taste the cheese roast potatoes and roast parsnips and what else in season also a cornish tradition suet duff. Well worth the visit staff friendly place spotless clean.

Eat here quite often they now offer a take away service. Love the carvery so many vegatabkes to. Choose from and they change them often in season also had suet crust which is a typical cornish accompaniment, as well as choice of 2 meats of course Yorkshire pudding really best around its £10.50 but that includes any drink you like. The breakfast are very tasty usual full english but small items like beans on toast egg on toast ect and more upmarket eggs benidict. They change their special as well last week we had Jerk chicken with spicy rice, wedges, coleslaw corn on the cob and onion rings for £12 for 2. Please try it and make it the success it deserves.

We arrived tired to our holiday home, walked over to the cafe. It has a clever basic evening menu all fresh cooked! We had a coq au vin pie, posh fish and chips with mint pea puree, a sweet and a bottle of wine for around £30. Very nicely presented, very welcoming, locals could not wait to talk to you. Our very large Akita dog was wecolmed with a bowl of water. We returned for the hotel style buffet breakfast, coffee self service in fresh coffee plunge pots, pre order eggs, put your toast in, eggs done walk over to servery and staff load you up. Great quality, nicely done! Not expensive considering fresh coffee, quality products. Staff very helpful and friendly😁

We ordered a green Thai curry and the Tagliatelle with roasted vegetables, which was excellent for wife Wendy, as it contained her favourite yellow beetroot. Both meals were very good, the Thai curry having plenty of bite as compared to some that I've had recently where they had somewhat underestimated the western need for spicy. I didn't have my camera and used my wife's iPad so the tagliatelle sort of came out (pictured), but sadly the extremely well presented Thai dish was lost in the ether.....how's that for a pro photographer? There was a reasonable range of beverages and the Seven Bays had a good ambience and the staff were friendly and helpful.

We have just had a meal at the Sevenbays cafe. It was a carvery including a drink for £10.00 per person. It was well worth the money. Huge plates that you can pile high with delicious vegetables, yorkshire pudding, stuffing, potatoes and your choice of meat from the choices available. If you are staying at sevenbays I would definitely recommend this place. It's great for a meal or just a quiet drink the staff are genuinely friendly and interested to talk to you. We regularly eat at high class restaurants and the food, evening meals and breakfasts rivals these at The Cafe, those who wrote the comments are imbaseals (excuse the spelling is wrong) that have no class and don't even know a good coffee when they taste it. Breakfasts are very good value, especially with help yourself toast, tea coffee and cereals, the main dishes are freshly cooked and presented well. As for the evening meals we have sampled coq au van pie which is suemazing, the fish and chips and risotto all wonderful and served with a happy and smiley service. Not a husband and wife team!

We were staying locally and could walk to the cafe which was a bonus. There are 8 of us, 4 teenagers and four adults. We had looked at the Facebook page and were impressed with the extensive menu, and having had a truly awful meal the previous night in another local restaurant set off hopefully. The cafe is well decorated and had lots of flowers on the tables .The waitress was really helpful and efficient, but explained that lots of things were off the menu. We had a choice of four things! The kids were really disappointed and it spoiled their night. The food that was available was well cooked and presented. The dessert menu was limited too and we were told that they had no ice cream! What a shame, the cafe is on a really big holiday village and has a huge captive clientele, and the other restaurant in walking distance is truly awful, it could have been so good! The staff were helpful and efficient, the surroundings good but the menu was definitely not as advertised.

Having visited the last couple of years since the Café opened and enjoyed a vast selection of their food, we was disappointed with our visit last month. The previous chef has left and the menu seems very limited to what it once was. Admittedly the food was pretty good but not matching the standards of their past. I understand they are still searching for a new permanent chef so hopefully the menu will become more inviting again...What we noticed more than anything was the rudeness of the staff and manager. Gone was the cheery hello's and welcoming chit chat, it really felt a bit like we were intruding. At one point we got tutted at for having a laugh at our table as we might wake the baby up which was in a buggy, sat with staff at a table - bearing it mind it was gone 10pm and we were paying customers.Because of this experience this was our only visit here during our week at the site. The last 2 years we had come here most evenings but instead we opted to make the trip into St Merryn. It would be nice to return and feel welcomed again. It would be a shame to see the business dwindle for lack of general customer care.

Having a young family and a lack of people who can look after the kids encouraged us to get a caravan at seven bays park a few years ago. The rustic nature and simplistic lifestyle of caravan ing really appealed to our family. However the wife and I do love a good meal and somewhere that is kid friendly. So it was with great delight that we saw the opening of the cafe and enjoyed it's great quality food ever since. Defo recommend going there if you are in the area.

We visited The Cafe a couple of times on this trip to Cornwall following a review of the write-ups on Trip Advisor. We weren't disappointed in the slightest, the service and food were excellent. The first thing you notice is how spotless the place is, which is always a good start. The menu whilst not comprehensive had a nice choice of dishes, and was about what you'd expect price-wise. We are staying in the holiday park and met up with family for a meal in the restaurant that is on site. We stay in Cornwall every year and rarely eat out because it's so expensive. The meals here are from £8 to £15 (adult menu). My 8oz sirloin steak was 12.95 plus £2.95 for a Stilton sauce. Very good value. We were with two vegetarians who haven eaten here before were very happy with their meals. My partner had Lobster Chilli Linguine, which he said was delicious. My eldest daughter had the chicken dish, but struggled because there were 5 different dishes she would have loved to have tried. I was very impressed with the children's menu. Many places forget that children are actually little people and don't want the usual fodder of fish fingers or burgers. They had these, but homemade, using local produce and they also had lovely pasta dishes too. Their chef makes his own dough for pizzas and these were lovely. Our group had a four cheese pizza and my youngest had a small pizza too.I am very fussy, and will not hesitate to complain about a meal, if it's not up to standard. I can honestly say that all the meals were very tasty. My steak was cooked exactly how I like it. full of flavour. The sauce in particular was divine. The chips which normally I can take or leave, were mmmmm! Everything tasted fresh. I left nothing on the plate. Just remembering it is actually making my mouth water. The bar had all the usual drinks but also am array of local drinks like Kernow Gin, Cornish beers and Cornish made soft drinks. The staff were very friendly, despite being so busy. They look like they enjoy their work and like the people who use the restaurant.I'm not sure if it's location would bring people from outside of the site or St Merryn itself, but if you are staying in this area, I would highly recommend it. Very good value, Great menu choices, deliciously made and warm and welcoming staff.Just to be picky and not to sound like I'm being paid to write this review. I would say they could do with a few more tables and it was a busy night so lots of happy chattering on the tables, so the back ground music sounded like noise. These however a small things and do not take away from a wonderful evening. Thank you.

We stayed at the Maribu holiday park for a week in September, using it as a base to get out and see some of North Cornwall. We ate in the Cafe at Seven Bays on our first evening as having travelled that day we didn't want to venture too far, we were really pleasantly surprised at both the decor (rustic pine with a 60s/70s feel) and the quality of food - which was fantastic. All freshly prepared and excellent value.Part of our holiday itinerary was to get out and try a couple of the more famous local restaurants which, after a couple of false starts, we managed. These were sadly a bit of an anti-climax, so for our last few nights we returned to sample the dishes on offer at this little eaterie. I can honestly say that although the menu wasn't huge, what was on offer was fantastic from seafood to pasta and more. Our party consisted of two couples and between us we tried most of the dishes on offer - without a single complaint.Drinks served include local beers as well as all branded spirits, again all very reasonably priced. Don't let the fact that this restaurant/cafe is on a holiday park put you off paying it a visit - if you want great food at resonable prices drop in.

We booked a table by phone , very friendly call handler. On arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff at the bar and shown to our table. We ordered faggots with mash potato and onions and the Vegetable ragu with cheese & herb crust served with garlic bread and salad. Both meals were delicious. We had desert as well , apple, blueberry, and strawberry crumble served with hot custard and Creme Brulee, again both delicious. The atmosphere was laid back, relaxed but attentive to customers. It was so friendly, and customers interacted and chatted, which was great! Would definitely recommend this quirky olde world pub , it has a charm of its own. Reasonably priced, too, and generous portions.
