Great coffee, great bagels, came back to eat them again!

Such a beautiful cafe with the best view, yummy cakes and the best coffee in town. My favorite place.

Lovely little cafe on the seafront. We visited a couple times when we were down for a long weekend on holiday. The hot chocolate are amazing especially the booze version 😜

Didn’t sample any of the food, coffee only, Flat white was very nice, lovely taste and latte art. Hot chocolate seemed to get a big thumbs up. Cakes looked very nice and tempting.

60p extra charge for a smidge of oat milk in tea making a cuppa £2.90 is a bit steep!

Coffee with milk was ok,but sweets was obviously made from cheap ingridiens and tasted awfull. Sorry,get better!!

Popped in whilst walking along Peranporth beach, lovely setting, delicious drinks friendly staff and a lovely view.

Stumbled in to this little gem of a cafe following a bimble down the beach with favourite wife and pet pooch Margot, sitting on the balcony overlooking the beach. Upon entry we were met with amazeballs levels of customer friendly service and treated ourselves to a lump of chocolate cake and two exceptionally flamboyant hot chocolates with lumps of marshmallows and cream. Whilst I am pretty certain I'll have to smash out a few more laps of the Beach in order to balance out the calories, if there are good and there are bad calories... These ones would be a goodun. Definitely recommend.

We went as a family, eight of us. At the moment we walked in, the staff were very accommodating , arranging tables for us to sit and enjoy coffee and cakes, Perranporth is one of my favorite beaches, we all live and work in Cornwall and it's nice to have this sort of experience. Thank you .

This is such a lovely spot for a coffee after a morning walk along the beach but the last few weeks it just seems to have gone downhill a bit. Service has been so slow the last few times I’ve been and the ladies behind the counter seem a little pre-occupied/disinterested. My little dog loves it there and drags me up the steps but they frequently now say they have no dog treats ( she only has 2 or 3) so even she is hesitant to return. I don’t know what is going on there but it isn’t the welcoming place it used to be.

Had a beautiful coffee and pastries on the top deck - prices were really reasonable and the coffee was perfect - We live locally so don't stop often but we will again now we know the coffee is so good - everyone had a smile working there too - have a good season

Decided to give this lovely place a go for a change. Drinks were lovely and the views over the beach were amazing. Dog friendly as well. Weather was a bit on the cool side, but I'm sure on a warm summers evening you could spend a good few hours enjoying the stunning view

Very disappointing. Went for drinks on the veranda. Both drinks we wanted they hadn't got. Ordered two other drinks and paid. They said they would bring one of our drinks up to us. When it was bought up was told it needed to be paid for. I said I'd paid downstairs but apparently it was around £9.00 for a medium wine. They hadn't taken for the other drink. Was shocked at their prices. This is Perranporth not st tropez.

We were recently staying in Perranporth, visiting family and we decided to have cake and coffee here after spending a hour in the sea last Tuesday(21st May), early afternoon. We sat outside on the roof terrace as the weather was really nice. We didn’t have much contact with the staff apart from when we placed our order. We were given a buzzing alarm to come collect our order when it went off and that was it for staff interaction. We had a really nice Cruffin each. My partner had a chocolate one and I had salted caramel. I’d not had one before and they were really nice. I’m not sure if they were made on site or if they were wholesale but they were really good. For the two Cruffins and two coffees, it was £15.30. A little steep but even Costa and Starbucks are over priced these days. I would definitely come back here again. I liked it but would have loved it even more if our order was less than £13.00 which seemed more reasonable for what we had. The location is great, right on the edge of the beach. I would recommend a visit here if your down this way.

Served the tiniest slice of cake I have ever seen. Not sure it could be sliced thinner. After staring in disbelief of how this could cost £3.80 ( or round about) I questioned if this is the slice size that they would normally serve and was almost looked at as if I was greedy. The lady gave us a second slither.Thanks. Other than that most of the staff seemed lovely, nice location. Coffee was good.

Offers a great range of drinks and these can be enjoyed on the terrace over looking the beech - a great view! The service was a little slow and the staff not very friendly.

We are regular visitors to Perranporth and always pop in here to have a hot drink and snack. If we camp nearby, I usually get a cheeky espresso martini which is amazing and hubby a beer. The views from here are amazing regardless of the weather. Ambiance and decor is spot on for location. Service and cleanliness is hit or miss depending on staffing levels. Cake options vary, I'm celiac so fingers are always crossed for the gluten free carrot cake which is amazing! Big shout out to the staff over Tunes in the Dunes weekend, it was very busy but they maintained excellent standards and my espresso martinis were amazing. Loved the DJ on the top terrace, great addition before we moved onto the festival. Thank you, see you all soon x

Not everyone wants to listen to your DJ. Was quite happily having a chilled relaxed pint in the sun when she came along and started pumping out shat electro at high volume into everyone's ears.

No soap. Rusty chairs which when wet leak on your clothes. Food not that great. Small bagel not much filling. Tea was ok though.

£4.80 for a dirty chai! Great location but mad expensive.

We visit here regularly at least 4 times a week even during the winter months, however this we have been disappointed in recent weeks. We have called in for coffee and cake after our daily walk to be told they don’t serve cake after 4pm ! Despite we could see it in the fridge, petty I know but lots of people come in after us asking for coffee and slice of cake. We then asked for crisp or nuts to be told they don’t do them too ! Such a shame as it was a lovely place and was our regular place to go !

Visited on numerous occasions. A brilliant place to have an evening drink and watch the sea and surfers. Great variety of drinks and cocktails from hot chocolates to pina coladas. Reasonably priced considering the location. Always fun to visit when it’s a super high tide!

Beautiful view of the beach. Service was quick. Well decorated bar and cafe. They serve a host of cocktails as well as Rattler on tap.

Stopped here for coffee whilst on a walk to and from Perranporth. The coffee was delicious. Great views of the beach and nice place to relax.

5 of us came this morning (2 adults, 3 kids). No acknowledgement when we walked in and when we did say hello we were meet with a very unwarm hello in response. I checked twice on the website and saw they advertised gluten free cakes, when we asked what selection they had, we were told 'no gluten free options today'. We ended up leaving and going elsewhere. Please do not advertise you offer gluten free if you do not, it's incredibly frustrating.

Ordered Sourdough toasties. Soggy, tasteless and greasy. Don't bother.

This place needs a dam, good clean. The young lady behind the bar was fantastic came and wiped down the table we sat down at, taking our order with with a smile like she enjoyed working there (this to me is great to see). But when the weather's not great and the balcony doors are closed you start to notice other things around you and this is why it's only a 3/5 it needs a bloody good clean as it's looking filthy and tired. Was in Perranporth when it 1st opened and spent many a day/night there but unfortunately we couldn't wait to leave as soon as we'd finished our drinks.

Our group of 15 walkers & 1 dog stopped off here for coffee & cake. There was 1 young lady working on her own & she did an amazing job of taking all our orders & making the drinks in a friendly way. The coffee was excellent as were the chocolate brownies & flapjacks. The view from the cafe is amazing & we could not have wished for a more pleasant refreshment break.

One of my all time favourite places to enjoy a spot of coffee and cake… you just can’t bear the view, the service is always friendly and there’s a great selection of cakes too. Pretty much perfect!

Good coffee, skip the cakes. My husband and myself dropped in for coffee as we have done many times before, normally just for coffee but thought we would treat ourselves. Ordered a piece of carrot cake and slice of blueberry sponge. The coffee is always good here but i would not have the cakes again as they were the driest i have had in a long time. They state on the website fresh that day but don't specify which day. These cakes had been a long time on the counter. They were not todays. They were an expensive mistake.

Good location but that is it! Not a busy day but went in with a baby and 2 dogs... the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. I ended up having to walk out. Better option is to get a takeout from somewhere else and sit on the beach.

If you visit Perranporth, this is a perfect place to enjoy a cocktail with nice music in a good atmosphere. Friendly staff, stunning views over the beach... and dog friendly! Perfect combination.

Always had great friendly service from this lovely cafe. Perfect location to sit and watch the world go by with the views of the beach while enjoying some of the delicious food and drinks they have to offer. Has some seating inside and plenty of seating outside.

Ordered 2 toasties which took 15 minutes or more to cook and arrived burnt! Not at all impressed. It was not particularly busy and food is served in TA bags so there really is no excuse. I am all for supporting local businesses, but for £7.50 I would expect more! We asked for a refund and went elsewhere. A real shame as the location is great!

Love the coffee and cakes in this wonderful spot in Perranporth. After a beach dog walk it serves the best coffee in the town with the best view, and the staff are lovely.

Great DJ who played various instruments himself (trumpet, bongos). Chilled atmosphere, cool drinks with a view of the sea and the sunset.

We spent a cozy evening here with delicious cocktails, great sound and a wonderful ambience. The cocktails are delicious and tastefully prepared. The service is very friendly. The roof terrace offers a great view of the beach. The DJ played the right sound. Highly recommended!

Great cafe and bar overlooking the beach. Extra seating has now been added on the top roof. Dog friendly. Recommend the coffee there, best in the town, or for an evening cocktail. They also sell really good pasties in the shop below

Came in 2022 and the menu was really good had a lovely pesto toastie which came with crisps and salad and had a nice iced coffee really nicely presented. This year 2023 they’ve changed the menu and it really isn’t as good! Had a toasted flatbread which didn’t taste like much was very bland and not as full plate of crisps and no salad! The iced coffee was different also. Please change the menu back! Also staff should really tell people that you order at the bar and have menus on the tables as a lot of people don’t know or think to get up and ask

What a fabulous spot. Staff and other customers soooo friendly. A warm welcome from a very heavy shower and an excellent coffee along with a most delicious cronut. Lots of lovely dogs with owners who permitted us to pet their fur babies!!

Beautiful little place but the experience was spoilt by the rudeness of the staff and the signage. You arrive up some steps and you are ordered by a written sign to knock and wait . I was greeted by an abrupt girl who asked how many of us there were and told to come to the bar to order. It just had an unwelcoming feel. There were signs saying don’t do this and don’t do that.

Quality bar and cafe. One of the best spots in Cornwall. Great views. Really gave me a softspot for Perranporth. Surprisingly quiet on Jubilee Bank Holiday

We always stop here on our way home - 6 times in the past 11 months - for coffee and cake. Fabulous experience every time. Love the outside terrace. Staff are welcoming and leave us to enjoy our food and drink, even when we were waiting for almost 2 hours for our son to join us! Looking forward to our next visit.

A very windy cold afternoon with rain. So the cozey and very friendly staff was a wonderful plus along with tasty bites and great drinks. We'll worth a visit.

This is my favourite place for coffee ........and they have the most amazing cakes! After our cold water swim on a Friday morning this place is our go to for a Friday treat. Best coffee and carrot cake!

Stunning view and damn fine coffee

I have come to Alcertraz on the 27th Oct for a morning coffee and had terrible service! The girl working was extremely rude. I was with my toddler so found it hard getting her up the steps. She instantly told me to move the pram to unblock the steps (absolutely fine if it wasn’t said with such a horrible manner) she then told me to take a seat and she would get my order. I waited and waited whilst she appeared to be ‘busy’ even though there were only two other customers who had already been served. She then shouted over if you want to order do it at the bar. She could see I had my toddler with me and the place was hardly rammed! The drink I wanted was out of stock. Just as well because I was ready to get up and leave anyway. I wouldn’t recommend if you have children or want a nice pleasant atmosphere

We read on trip advisor that they offered cream tea; we wanted to have a traditional cream tea and thought how wonderful it would be to have with a view of the gorgeous Perranporth beach. Unfortunately they do not offer cream teas, it was a one-off offer for the Queen's Jubilee. This was our disappointment, as this is such a great location, cream teas would go down a storm! We decided to stay for a cuppa and cake anyway as they are also dog friendly! We found a seat outside, and their balcony is glassed so you can see out, but also protected from some of the elements and the view we had was amazing! The tables seem close together but once you sit down, you do feel like you're in your own little world. The table we chose had previous peoples items still on it, when I asked at the counter for a tray and cloth to clear the table, the waitress was friendly and instantly came out to clear our table for us and give it a wipe clean. You order at the till with your table number, and the food and drink we had was nice, not bad priced and the service was fine. I think the view and location pulls you in, if it didn't have that, I don't think we would have gone to it. Many thanks,

I first saw this place on a local Perranporth group. Wanted to visit while we were staying there. We were actually staying in an apartment overlooking it and it was always very popular and busy even in September. We went down one lunch time and had lovely toasted sandwiches. You really do feel like you're sitting in the beach. It's not a huge place but it's well worth a visit and it's clean and great decor. The tea cups, plates etc are beautiful. I did get momentarily confused by the signs for male and female on the toilet doors, but quickly worked it out.

Soooooo disappointing. Rude staff again. We visited once before and the staff were unfriendly, slow and rude. We thought we would try again but exactly the same. I presume the location means that the staff think they do not have to be polite!

What is the point in running a cafe where you can’t sit on roof terrace with any food!!!!! Poor service, toastie served on chipped plate and drinks all arriving at separate times..

Visited with extended family for an afternoon drink. We complied with ‘wait to be seated’ but received a frosty welcome when we said we’d like to sit outside. We were told a story about a big party just having been seated - which wasn’t true...

Amazing cocktails and the most amazing view. Fully recommend going for sunset. Cakes look great too. Wish they did happy hour!

Lovely toasties although they ran out by 2 which isn’t ideal for a busy beach side cafe, especially when it’s the only lunch food available. Served our favourite peach rattler cider, however the staff didn’t act very happy to see us when we arrived and...

Decent flat white, great cake selection. Smoothie was fancy and tasty, toastie hit the spot!
