Stopped here for coffee whilst on a walk to and from Perranporth. The coffee was delicious. Great views of the beach and nice place to relax.

5 of us came this morning (2 adults, 3 kids). No acknowledgement when we walked in and when we did say hello we were meet with a very unwarm hello in response. I checked twice on the website and saw they advertised gluten free cakes, when we asked what selection they had, we were told 'no gluten free options today'. We ended up leaving and going elsewhere. Please do not advertise you offer gluten free if you do not, it's incredibly frustrating.

Ordered Sourdough toasties. Soggy, tasteless and greasy. Don't bother.

This place needs a dam, good clean. The young lady behind the bar was fantastic came and wiped down the table we sat down at, taking our order with with a smile like she enjoyed working there (this to me is great to see). But when the weather's not great and the balcony doors are closed you start to notice other things around you and this is why it's only a 3/5 it needs a bloody good clean as it's looking filthy and tired. Was in Perranporth when it 1st opened and spent many a day/night there but unfortunately we couldn't wait to leave as soon as we'd finished our drinks.

Our group of 15 walkers & 1 dog stopped off here for coffee & cake. There was 1 young lady working on her own & she did an amazing job of taking all our orders & making the drinks in a friendly way. The coffee was excellent as were the chocolate brownies & flapjacks. The view from the cafe is amazing & we could not have wished for a more pleasant refreshment break.

One of my all time favourite places to enjoy a spot of coffee and cake… you just can’t bear the view, the service is always friendly and there’s a great selection of cakes too. Pretty much perfect!

Good coffee, skip the cakes. My husband and myself dropped in for coffee as we have done many times before, normally just for coffee but thought we would treat ourselves. Ordered a piece of carrot cake and slice of blueberry sponge. The coffee is always good here but i would not have the cakes again as they were the driest i have had in a long time. They state on the website fresh that day but don't specify which day. These cakes had been a long time on the counter. They were not todays. They were an expensive mistake.

Came in for coffee and cake, both which were excellent! Dog friendly and the service was spot on, will be back!

Good location but that is it! Not a busy day but went in with a baby and 2 dogs... the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. I ended up having to walk out. Better option is to get a takeout from somewhere else and sit on the beach.

Fantastic coffee, almond croissants to die for, staff super helpful and totally dog friendly, highly recommend and views of perran porth beach are amazing.

If you visit Perranporth, this is a perfect place to enjoy a cocktail with nice music in a good atmosphere. Friendly staff, stunning views over the beach... and dog friendly! Perfect combination.

Get given a buzzer and a 15min wait for a beer and a lime soda? The walking dead zombies would serve faster

Always had great friendly service from this lovely cafe. Perfect location to sit and watch the world go by with the views of the beach while enjoying some of the delicious food and drinks they have to offer. Has some seating inside and plenty of seating outside.

Ordered 2 toasties which took 15 minutes or more to cook and arrived burnt! Not at all impressed. It was not particularly busy and food is served in TA bags so there really is no excuse. I am all for supporting local businesses, but for £7.50 I would expect more! We asked for a refund and went elsewhere. A real shame as the location is great!

Love the coffee and cakes in this wonderful spot in Perranporth. After a beach dog walk it serves the best coffee in the town with the best view, and the staff are lovely.

Great DJ who played various instruments himself (trumpet, bongos). Chilled atmosphere, cool drinks with a view of the sea and the sunset.

We spent a cozy evening here with delicious cocktails, great sound and a wonderful ambience. The cocktails are delicious and tastefully prepared. The service is very friendly. The roof terrace offers a great view of the beach. The DJ played the right sound. Highly recommended!

Great cafe and bar overlooking the beach. Extra seating has now been added on the top roof. Dog friendly. Recommend the coffee there, best in the town, or for an evening cocktail. They also sell really good pasties in the shop below

Came in 2022 and the menu was really good had a lovely pesto toastie which came with crisps and salad and had a nice iced coffee really nicely presented. This year 2023 they’ve changed the menu and it really isn’t as good! Had a toasted flatbread which didn’t taste like much was very bland and not as full plate of crisps and no salad! The iced coffee was different also. Please change the menu back! Also staff should really tell people that you order at the bar and have menus on the tables as a lot of people don’t know or think to get up and ask

Great place to sit and watch the world go by, but beware 13.00 for two pints of Rattler...OUTRAGEOUS!!!

What a fabulous spot. Staff and other customers soooo friendly. A warm welcome from a very heavy shower and an excellent coffee along with a most delicious cronut. Lots of lovely dogs with owners who permitted us to pet their fur babies!!

Beautiful little place but the experience was spoilt by the rudeness of the staff and the signage. You arrive up some steps and you are ordered by a written sign to knock and wait . I was greeted by an abrupt girl who asked how many of us there were and told to come to the bar to order. It just had an unwelcoming feel. There were signs saying don’t do this and don’t do that.

Quality bar and cafe. One of the best spots in Cornwall. Great views. Really gave me a softspot for Perranporth. Surprisingly quiet on Jubilee Bank Holiday

We always stop here on our way home - 6 times in the past 11 months - for coffee and cake. Fabulous experience every time. Love the outside terrace. Staff are welcoming and leave us to enjoy our food and drink, even when we were waiting for almost 2 hours for our son to join us! Looking forward to our next visit.

Great place for a coffee and cake after a walk on the beach. Coffee is perfect and choice of cakes always tempting. The toasties are perfect. On top of that the view is stunning.

A very windy cold afternoon with rain. So the cozey and very friendly staff was a wonderful plus along with tasty bites and great drinks. We'll worth a visit.

This is my favourite place for coffee ........and they have the most amazing cakes! After our cold water swim on a Friday morning this place is our go to for a Friday treat. Best coffee and carrot cake!

Stunning view and damn fine coffee

I have come to Alcertraz on the 27th Oct for a morning coffee and had terrible service! The girl working was extremely rude. I was with my toddler so found it hard getting her up the steps. She instantly told me to move the pram to unblock the steps (absolutely fine if it wasn’t said with such a horrible manner) she then told me to take a seat and she would get my order. I waited and waited whilst she appeared to be ‘busy’ even though there were only two other customers who had already been served. She then shouted over if you want to order do it at the bar. She could see I had my toddler with me and the place was hardly rammed! The drink I wanted was out of stock. Just as well because I was ready to get up and leave anyway. I wouldn’t recommend if you have children or want a nice pleasant atmosphere

We read on trip advisor that they offered cream tea; we wanted to have a traditional cream tea and thought how wonderful it would be to have with a view of the gorgeous Perranporth beach. Unfortunately they do not offer cream teas, it was a one-off offer for the Queen's Jubilee. This was our disappointment, as this is such a great location, cream teas would go down a storm! We decided to stay for a cuppa and cake anyway as they are also dog friendly! We found a seat outside, and their balcony is glassed so you can see out, but also protected from some of the elements and the view we had was amazing! The tables seem close together but once you sit down, you do feel like you're in your own little world. The table we chose had previous peoples items still on it, when I asked at the counter for a tray and cloth to clear the table, the waitress was friendly and instantly came out to clear our table for us and give it a wipe clean. You order at the till with your table number, and the food and drink we had was nice, not bad priced and the service was fine. I think the view and location pulls you in, if it didn't have that, I don't think we would have gone to it. Many thanks,

I first saw this place on a local Perranporth group. Wanted to visit while we were staying there. We were actually staying in an apartment overlooking it and it was always very popular and busy even in September. We went down one lunch time and had lovely toasted sandwiches. You really do feel like you're sitting in the beach. It's not a huge place but it's well worth a visit and it's clean and great decor. The tea cups, plates etc are beautiful. I did get momentarily confused by the signs for male and female on the toilet doors, but quickly worked it out.

Soooooo disappointing. Rude staff again. We visited once before and the staff were unfriendly, slow and rude. We thought we would try again but exactly the same. I presume the location means that the staff think they do not have to be polite!

What is the point in running a cafe where you can’t sit on roof terrace with any food!!!!! Poor service, toastie served on chipped plate and drinks all arriving at separate times..

Amazing cocktails and the most amazing view. Fully recommend going for sunset. Cakes look great too. Wish they did happy hour!

Visited with extended family for an afternoon drink. We complied with ‘wait to be seated’ but received a frosty welcome when we said we’d like to sit outside. We were told a story about a big party just having been seated - which wasn’t true...

Lovely toasties although they ran out by 2 which isn’t ideal for a busy beach side cafe, especially when it’s the only lunch food available. Served our favourite peach rattler cider, however the staff didn’t act very happy to see us when we arrived and...

Being relatively local we have visited this café a few times before and generally been very satisfied. Having just walked the length of Perranporth beach and back we were looking forward to a coffee from this cafe which has a great location overlooking the comings...

Excellent location great views sells alchole tea coffee cakes toasties friendly staff only downside tables not cleaned as customers left just dirty cups etc removed not out of Covid yet! Toilet provided.

Loved the decor and fantastic views. One member of staff could do with smiling and actually talking . But still a nice place for a coffee.

What a Cornish gem! Just when you think you know all the gorgeous places in Perranporth, another corker comes along to take your breath away. Great cocktails, lovely service and excellent location - spectacular spot to observe the sunset. High tide is the best time as you feel quite cut off! And our doggy Rocco liked it too! We'll deffo be back!

Lovely little place over looking Perranporth Beach.. Great toasties and hot chocolate, relaxing environment... First time visited , wasn't sure where the entrance was and then sat down and didn't know needed to order at the counter... no menu on table but they were on side.. but girls served politely

Called in here for tea and cake. Lovely outside seating, together with inside views. Service a bit slow but it didn't bother us. Good quality drinks and cake with friendly service.

Really nice location and good cocktails. We did wait a while for the cheese toastie (25 mins) and all the sandwiches apart from cheese toasties were unavailable. I think this was because of supply issues.

We sat here, away from the beach hoards, had lovely cake and coffee and could see our son in his surf lesson (well not exactly but you could see the class happening in the distance). What is not to like!
