We had looked at breakfast options before visiting and were keen to try The Hive as everything looked so delicious and well presented. I was not disappointed! Tasty food, nicely plated and wonderful friendly service. Took a chocolate muffin away for later, also very yummy!

This lovely cafe, mainly vegan, is a very welcome addition to the eating opportunities in Ramsgate. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and there are several options for a vegan lunch - the spinach and chickpea stew and ramen were really delicious - and there are lots of yummy vegan cakes too. It's a popular place with locals, yogis and visitors, creating a cheerful but chilled atmosphere. Just a short walk to the harbour too.

We went for a family lunch, I ate a bacon chicken and avocado sandwich and salad with a cup of coffee. at first it seemed fine then needed the toilet, twice before I paid, 3 times in the next 20 min. by the next day I was in bed with stomach cramps. I called the restaurant and spoke with the manager who was very apologetic, he said to email him and he would sort something out to say sorry. No reply, tried the restaurants email address a few times as well - nothing, not even a sorry be careful

Great atmosphere, good food, nice position. Staff friendly but inappropriate lack of attention to basic details. We waited ages to be seated despite booking. We told them when we booked 2 guests could not have shellfish and reminded them when we ordered yet they included scallops on the plate. Totally unapologetic despite the risks of anaphylactic reactions. Not once were we asked about allergies. Excessively burnt sourdough was described as intentionally carbonised, the yapping dog under the table next to us was intrusive and could no way be described as an assistance dog and the service was very slow.

Visited with my husband and brother and Ordered 2 prawn and one mules mariners and while the prawn dishes was very good and the kitchen kindly peeled them for us at our request the mussels were very overcooked and shrivelled! We paid for our food upfront so when our food arrived the waitress asked if all was okay. We informed her the prawns were very good but the mussels were overcooked and very shrivelled and we had tasted better! Her response after we heard her telling the kitchen that someone was complaining about the mussels was they can’t possibly be overcooked as they had used a temperature probe to cook them! They were clearly very shrivelled Her response was very rude and they refused to offer a solution! Who uses a temperature probe for cooking mussels? Did they test each one!! Needless to say we left with a bowl of unfinished mussels on the table and no tip left!! Very poor customer service, which was a shame as the rest of the meal was very good!!

Needing to put its boast to the test, I was first surprised at the prices, then the range of treats on offer 😊 Flat white and a dark chocolate Tunnock’s Teacake. I cannot testify to other establishments in town, but this was the best coffee I have had in ages. If in the area, take the weight off your feet and rest awhile with a very tasty coffee.

Reading the other reviews on here I believe I may have just come on a bad day. £7.50 for an incredibly small breakfast sandwich without any sauce with burned bacon, overcooked egg and tough bread. Took them about 25 minutes to get around to serving it while a small Scottish gentleman frantically ran around shouting “2 minutes “ in every direction to just about anyone who would listen. I certainly wouldn’t be recommending this establishment to anyone
