It's a shame as the food is lovely. We had the ploughman's and it was so good, but the staff were very short and abrupt. The older lady and man in particular. Though they were nice enough to some of the other, older customers. Maybe I'll come back when I'm 60+ and get the level of service any paying customers deserves?

Popped in today with friends and we had 3 cream teas. We were served by a friendly waitress and the teas arrived swiftly. When the Scones arrived the pots of cream ( one each) were only half full ( approx a teaspoon), so we asked for another pot of cream each. The Scones were large and delicious as was the tea. When we went to pay, our bill was larger than expected. 3 x cream teas @ £7 each = £21, we expected to pay a little extra for our extra pots of cream but not the £7.50 that was on said bill. When we queried this with the waitress she said it was for the extra cream, and looked to a male colleague who shrugged his shoulders and said its due to rising costs and that was the price of things these days and then turned his back. He was very brusque and dismissive and the poor waitress just looked at us embarrassed. We should have been made aware that 3 tiny pots of cream would cost more than one extra complete cream tea. In summary.... the scone was delicious but the cream was dearer than liquid gold. We will not visit again.

Found thus little traditional tea room while walking round Ramsgate. Really good menu choices including full meals and afternoon tea. Went for the homemade cheese scone and fresh filtered coffee. We were really looking forward to visiting Corby's, but were left very disappointed. We ordered lasagne and a baguette, which were good (though not outstanding), but when I went over to order cakes I was told that this was not possible as the restaurant closes at 3:00. When I pointed out that it was still only 2:40 I just got a shrug; there was not a hint of apology. Incidentally, the Corby's website claim they are currently operating a summer schedule, which should mean they close at 4:00. But in any case, to refuse to serve customers who are already seated and twenty minutes (at least) before closing time is pretty shabby service. As we were stepping out (2:50), they put the closed sign up. Fortunately Ramsgate has plenty of other good options.

What wonderful tea rooms this are. Everything is just perfect. As soon as you go in you are transported back to a time when service was service and care and friendliness was the norm. You are not just in Ramsgate but as you look at the fantastic original wall murals of old Ramsgate by Steven Beach you are reminded of the style and grandeur of Victorian England. The tasteful selection of quiet background music reminds us of the 60’s 70’s, and the amazing collection of teapots and the High Tea Paraphinalia compliment the the ambience of this unique establishment. The food is excellent value with a varied traditional and modern menu, freshly cooked by your friendly hosts Sue and Paul, with a variety of cakes to compliment a special High Tea or a spur of the moment temptation. If that was not enough Paul is a top barista who makes great coffees on a proper traditional espresso machine, using top quality coffee beans, not one of these modern electronic push button ones! This family run business is a must to support these days! Don’t walk on by, give Corby’s a try!

The best in Ramsgate by far . But not all perfect. A lovely sunny Monday morning ,my wife and i fancied a cuppa n cake . We hurriedly walked past quite a few cafes with the people lounging about smoking and hugging empty cups (this is most places these days ,unfortunately ) We have seen the traditional Corby's, but never ventured in . Offered a nice seat in the window . The uniformed waitress took our order of lattes . But when enquired as to which cake selection ? She stated she cant remember , then promptly did an about turn and looked over toward the counter and rattled off about six varieties which we only heard two . Coffee n Walnut , Apple pie. which was lucky because we would have chosen them . Both were delicious and fresh and good portions .Suggest an Ade memoire or a menu , or at least try to remember . Toilets clean but table a little sticky . Light bites available also ,shall return one day. ( with cash only option )

This lovely popular tearoom found us horrified by allowing customers to enter from the door at the rear, pushing unmasked past our table to get to tables at the front of the shop, at one point we were asked to move by a customer so they could pass by with a walking frame. My friend had to leave the chair she was sitting on and push in close to the table to accommodate this request. They were not the only customers who passed extremely close to use having entered by this door. The staff were good at telling people to put masks on rightly so, but should keep the rear access closed.

£25 for their high tea was one of the most expensive I have ever paid. The food was of good quality and too much for us to eat. Having said that, there was barely enough clotted cream and jam to cover my scone, it had to be carefully arranged. They weren't that busy, but felt slightly forgotten about. RUDE & RACIST MANAGEMENT!! First of all I would like to complement all the younger staff that were attentive and pleasant. The scones and tea was also very nice and light. Unfortunately the whole experience was ruined by the older man in the waist coat behind the counter. I took my father to the counter to show him the type of cakes on offer and the person who I assume was the manager I could tell took a disliking to us. Upon paying he served all customers in front and then refused to serve me until the younger staff was available. Then they didn’t have anought change for a £20 and had to wait while they found some, Then while waiting there he decided to say backhanded comments with a passive aggressive tone while making payment FOR NO REASON!!! I cannot explain the reason behind this other than our race. I hardly ever write review but this type of discrimination will not be tolerated.

We chose Corby’s Tea Rooms for breakfast on a Wednesday morning and were delighted that we did. The hosts were lovely and their food was just what we wanted: tasty, plenty of it and well priced.

Corby’s is an ideal place to sit and enjoy an excellently prepared snack away from the busy streets and the shopping

We arrived at 9:00 am for a typical breakfast so that my parents, which was the first time in the UK, could get a taste of British cuisine. The atmosphere of this establishment did not disappoint them. The decor, the boss and even the guests make the charm of this place. A classic breakfast, without originality but executed with care allowed us to start the day on a good foot.

Holidaying in Ramsgate again this year for a few nights and we visited our favourite place for breakfast. Every day we went along and had a very friendly warm welcome from staff there. We both had mobility scooters this year and all of them at some stage very kindly helped us to manoeuvre them in so we had room to sit at the tables. The people are so obliging and helpful, its such a lovely place to eat. Thank you to all of them. Definitely worth a visit if in Ramsgate, its very close to the Travelodge, being literally a few feet away, dont miss it!

Back again in Ramsgate for a few days which means we can visit the best tearooms we've ever visited again. Whether it's a breakfast sarnie, glorious bacon and a wonderful tasty sausage in fresh thick cut bread, homemade bacon and mushroom quiche and salad for lunch or a giant homemade fruit scone with jam and clotted cream you won't be disappointed. As well as the wonderful food, the staff are lovely and you can choose to sit outside in a quiet courtyard or inside where you can find something interesting to look at among the hundreds of tea related items which line the walls. Situated just round the corner from the Travel lodge and opposite the harbour. If you visit Ramsgate you must visit Corbys.

We had a lovely trip here this afternoon. The scones were delicious - warm and melt-in-the-mouth soft - and there was enough jam and cream to give a generous topping. Service was good - friendly and helpful. This was the best cream tea of our trip to Kent and we have tried several.

My friend and I went here for the first time on a weekday lunchtime and found seating downstairs. As all busy upstairs and we didn’t want to sit outside or in the covered walkway to the cinema area. We both thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and coffee. I had prawn and avocado sandwich on brown bread with salad and Kent Crisps my friend had smoked Salmon and cream cheese bagel that also came with salad and crisps. The cakes looked very nice but we were a bit full to try them probably will in our next visit. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I will definitely go back!

Felicity’s Cafe at Quex in Birchington is an absolute gem. Picture this—you roll up to this quaint little spot, and from the second you walk in, it’s got that vibe. Friendly, warm, like you’re part of the family. We’re talking fresh, local ingredients that just hit differently. The coffee? Smooth. The cakes? Sweet but not too sweet. Service? Spot on. The folks here treat you right, not in some fake, scripted way. You can tell they care, like they want every dish to be a hit, and let me tell you—it is. You want cozy, comfort, and quality all wrapped up in one? Felicity’s Cafe nails it.

Popped into Batchelors for a quick coffee and snack- what a good decision! The cafe had a calm and welcoming atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and helpful. With such a range of tempting savoury and sweet goodies available, it was hard to make a choice. With a steady flow of customers, Batchelors is obviously a popular venue. Long may it continue!
