Took my dad to this coffee shop last Sunday,and had a great time. Had a variety of cakes,a cappuccino and Mocha with Bailey's,all of which were delicious. The coffee shed had a really cosy atmosphere,and the owner was a really welcoming lovely lady. Will definitely visit again

Sunday 29-Sep-24 5 people behind the bar. No one can be bothered to walk 5 pases and actualy serve customers: you have to order and pay at the bar (not customer service, this is for only large venues or lazy people). Big breakfast: absolute minimum, one large mushroom, one hashbrown, 3 pieces of bacon (was good), 6 small tomatoes on the vine, two slices of bread - not butter offered and two small eggs. Really? Dissapointing, it felt like customers were unwanted. Coffee was ok, not great, just ok. Music: too loud. Table: wobbly - should have been fixed but wasn't. The boss was clearly not present today. Why can we not a) serve customer and b) take a bit more care and give value and love to food? If you hate food, don't be in a kitchen please ! Was better in the past, now falling of a cliff ...

Nice little cafe on the promenade with views of the sea front and the turner centre . Service is good with inside or outside seating . Nice food !

Nice coffee shop with great atmosphere, they service in and outside. I must say, being portuguese, I had some portuguese custard pies here that put some of ours to shame. Loved it.!

Disappointed, the big breakfast was nothing special, food was luke warm and the hash browns cold and limp. For the veggie breakfast I swopped the poached eggs for an extra hash brown and swopped the mexican beans for heinz beans. The beans were cold and tasted off, one hash brown was fine the other cold and limp like my friends. Afterwards the larger waitress asked how the food was I said disappointing to which she replied "well I see you've eaten most of it" Very Rude! you did ask my opinion after all. I'd actually left the gone off beans and most of the cold limp hash brown. Had eaten the rest as was hungry and didn't want to make a fuss demanding a refund or replacement meal. The coffee was good and the initial first waitress lovely.

I recently visited 'The Margate Coffee Shed' and ordered the avocado on toast. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The avocado was not smashed and was literally a whole avocado on a toast - there was also no hint of lemon which is usually expected in an avocado on toast. The addition of basil oil made the toast soggy and greasy, which was quite unappetizing. They also gave us knives that did not cut at all. Additionally, the cherry tomatoes were served on the vine, which was inconvenient. Overall, it was a disappointing meal, and I would not recommend this dish to others.

Very nice coffee & sausage roll. Avoid sitting by door as clients live in barns & dont shut the door, bit chilly then on a very cold & blowy summers day on Margate seafront. 😅

Popped in for a quick snack and coffee. The BLT was hard and cold because it had been sitting in the chiller but the worst thing was that it had little flavour, hard undercooked bacon fat, no butter, wilted and browned lettuce! It was disgusting! I told the waitress that it wasn't very nice and she answered with "it was cooked fresh today and sourdough is quite hard" - as if I might not know what sourdough bread is like! I really could not be bothered to say anything else apart from agree to some additional mayonnaise. This was as cheap as the other ingredients - plastic and flavourless! I didn't eat it and gave it to my other half, who also thought it was an absolutely rubbish sandwich! £8 for a rubbish sandwich - I don't know where they get off charging that for something so poor!. The large late was rather small and mediocre. The cake wasn't good either. I actually asked both of the gormless waitresses whether the filling was fresh cream - it was quite white in colour and looked like cream - they came back from the kitchen to say that it was buttercream. It wasn't - it was confectioner's cream - very plastic tasting. The cake also tasted stale. When I read a sign in the window saying fresh pastries cooked daily, I thought it might be worth a go but there is nothing fresh about anything that we tried here today! I won't be going back!

Had a takeaway decaf tea for just 99p! Amazing value so wanted to leave a recommendation! 👍

I ordered a flat white, a pain au chocolate and a BLT sourdough sandwich. I was given my flat white and pastry quickly. They obviously completely forgot my BLT as I saw others being served their lunch who came in after me. After waiting 20 minutes I went up to the cashier and asked whether my BLT was coming, to which they said it was. To their credit the waitress apologised for the delay when they gave the BLT to me. What I didn't expect was a pre-made BLT which was cold and tastless. I left half of the BLT as it was terrible and a waste of £8. The flat white was superb and the de-caff flat white my wife ordered was superb, as well as my son's drink.

Great food and service, fantastic menu. We were in Margate for three nights and ended up eating here every day for brunch as it was so good the first time! Sat outside when it was sunny, and very cosy inside when it was rainy.

A great seafront spot to stop for a coffee. Service friendly and efficient, coffee was excellent. Food looked delicious too.

Margate's gem. I was in Margate 27.05.24 to photograph the Margate mayhem motorbike day and stumbled upon this very charming coffee shop. The owner and staff were incredibly helpful, even with a justifiably busy serving counter. Made room for me to enjoy my lunch of a Chicken Caesar Sandwich and IMHO the very best cappuccino I have had in some time. After more photography I headed back for a second time to refresh myself before climbing up the hill to get on my motorbike home. If you find yourself in Margate and want somewhere friendly and nice to have a lunch then make a beeline for the Margate Coffee Shed. Again, thank you to everyone at the Margate Coffee shed for making my two visits a joy.

Perfect location to soak up the Margate atmosphere. Iced coffees are huge and the breakfasts looked amazing, will definitely be back to try one of these!

I had a delicious sourdough slice with basil oil avocado, rocket leaves and a poached egg 🍳. I also experienced the Turmeric latte, it is always difficult to find this sort of drink without sugar, it had stevia. I have now purchased a can. Thank you

Great place to sit outside on a sunny day! The matcha coconut latte was really nice, just felt a little small. The brownie was delicious! Lovely location and friendly staff. Good prices.

Had an amazing visit to Margate Coffee Shed a few weeks back with my Mum. The food and drinks were perfect, the decor and staff are lovely, and our dogs were treated like little queens and given a plate of treats each. Great location on the seafront and a good variety of menu items. Will be sure to come again and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Margate or to locals who are yet to visit :)

Stopped in for lunch today. Coffees were hot and the lunch was extremely tasty! We had croque monsieur, spicy cauliflower soup and mushrooms on toast. All delicious.

So pleased I came here. Our dog was made very welcome and given some lovely biscuits. Staff were excellent, very friendly and informative. We only had a drink and a sandwich but what a sandwich it was! Butternut Squash at its best. I haven't had a sandwich that good in ages. Thank you everyone at the Margate Coffee Shed.

Small but popular coffee shop on the seafront in Margate. Great selection of coffees, teas, and cold drinks. Serves both hot and cold food, great selection of cakes. Seating inside and out. Order at the counter, and they bring it to you. Staff are friendly and helpful

I think one of the best coffee places in Margate! They also do 20% NHS discount which is amazing. I’ve tried their iced and hot lattes - both delicious every time. I tried the Victoria sponge cake the other day and that was delectable. Giving 4/5 stars because sometimes there’s not enough staff and queues are long. Once I was stuck behind 2 ladies who took around 20 mins to order - I could’ve been served on the side whilst one staff member dealt with them. They should have a to go queue and eat in queue. Also, not much space to sit inside.

Not good flat white. Milk overheated. Consistency more like latte.

Excellent customer service. Went with my coeliac husband and staff were knowledgeable about cross contamination and how to prevent it. Plus, great spot to absorb Margate atmosphere.

8 staff running a dead shop. Breakfast they didn't have sausages. Then to top it off no bread either bunch of rookies kids running place rip off aswel. 6 pounds for a bacon bap. AVOID! BREAKY WAS OILY GREASY DEAD

Used to rate this place but now it seems overpriced with poor service. Three of us went there for lunch. My partner couldn’t have what he originally wanted as the cafe had run out of sausages. But at least his second choice was served correctly. I got a different sandwich from the one I’d ordered and my son got tomatoes on toast instead of the panzanella he’d ordered. They insisted my order was right but eventually conceded that they’d got my son’s order wrong. The tomatoes on toast they served him cost £9 and was one small piece of sourdough toast with some tomato chunks on top. Not exactly a filling lunch or value for money.

Extremely confident with Gluten allergies and intolerance. I had smoked salmon with poached eggs and vine roasted tomatoes, which was stunning and my wife was extremely pleased with her gluten free millionaire's shortbread. Really good that they're supporting local artisans too. Would definitely recommend and will be making this my regular breakfast spot in Margate.

Lovely place! Delicious food, friendly atmosphere, good service and fabulous food. Our friend loved the matcha latte and the coffee was excellent. Food above and beyond expectations - all four of us were impressed and will definitely be back.

Breakfast for two! Great Service, lovely staff, good coffee, and fabulous breakfast! Had sourdough toast with Large Mushrooms, Poached eggs drizzled in olive oil and garlic. Great combination of flavors, good size portion, perfectly cooked, very filling! 10/10 Recommend!

Sorry, but didn't enjoy the food. £13 for a small English breakfast with a very well done egg is a bit much. A fried egg needs to be runny!

Unfortunately the "toastie" was soggy, and more of a pickle and mustard sandwich than a reuben. Only 1 thin slice of pastrami and some sad rocket with nothing on it. Also had dense pancakes. Maybe just for a coffee instead.

Okay coffee, but food is very average and plain. Cakes looked okay, we tried a couple. Cooked food was not great, hard to explain without lots of context but it’s like it was all put together by someone learning to cook.

The poached eggs were lovely, the tea was great, the service was very fast, and also the waitresses were all very nice. Lovely cafe!

This is a lovely little coffee shop. Delicious cakes and the hot choccy tastes very nice. The staff are friendly and curtious. This will be a regular stop for me.

While the staff are very friendly and welcoming, the food isn't great. I ordered a Green Toastie to takeaway, but after getting it home and having a bite, I found they'd been very stingy with the mozzarella - there was hardly any in there! (See photo). On top of that, the pesto was spread pretty thinly and the spinach was a small clump in the middle of the sandwich. Really disappointing

Went for breakfast, it's in a nice location with view on the sea. Lot of space inside and also have a big table for a big group (we were 9). The service was friendly and quick, coffee was good, freshly pressed orange juice tasty too. The salmon and bacon toasts were a bit dry, maybe adding a sauce would help, good portion. One of our friends had to wait very long to receive her order, we all almost finished our food by the time she received it. Nice selection of cakes. Reasonably priced.

Got two iced coffees and both were revolting. The cup was filled with milk and so a single coffee shot meant it was incredibly weak. We asked for extra coffee shots but even then the coffee was nasty and we ended up throwing it away. Disappointing for a cafe with “coffee” in its name.

Visited Margate twice recently and both times enjoyed lunch sitting outside with my dogs at this lovely cafe. Friendly and helpful staff and reasonably priced yummy food!

Coffee was great, staff were excellent. Only reason I didn’t give 5 * was because the Victoria Sponge cake was a big disappointment - tasted very artificially sweet. Would rather have paid more for a real home made cake. My husband had a cherry almond cake which was fine though.

It took 50 minutes to get our order of food. My friends got the Shroom and Bacon Brunch, and all four poached eggs were over cooked and non of them were runny. I got the American pancakes. Worth noting that the Bacon Brunch and American pancakes say they come with streaky bacon on the menu but are actually served with back bacon. Otherwise fine, the coffee and smoothies are nice.

Very rude staff member, without empathy! Don’t bother entering the premises. Go next door to Charlie’s bar, they’re far better!
