A huge thank you to Lesters for a truly wonderful dining experience! From the moment my mum and I walked in, Kyle, Krystal, and Emma made us feel incredibly welcome. Their attentiveness, friendliness, and genuine hospitality were outstanding – they went above and beyond to ensure we had a perfect evening. My Mum had the fish special(Scampi) which was a fantastic deal including tea and dessert. We shared a delicious carrot cake with cream for dessert. I opted for the chicken breast with bacon barbecue sauce and cheese, served with chips and beans, which was absolutely delicious. My mum also thoroughly enjoyed her meal. To start, we shared the cheesy garlic bread, which was perfectly nice and crunchy. While the fish special itself was great, we were also impressed with the alternative suggestions when they had run out of the specific fish offering. Everything was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour. We would highly recommend Lesters to anyone looking for a fantastic meal with top-notch service. We can't wait to come back! Lester's, first class, wonderful meal, fantastic staff, couldn't fault

We attended for a family meal for 8, all having roasts. The first thing to note was the staffs lack of enthusiasm/care with multiple servers huffing/sighing and eye rolling while serving not only our table. It actually made us feel uncomfortable and awkward having someone tut at you while taking your order. The roast: We got a small portion of vegetables and gravy (two small dishes) that we saw other tables receiving 1 dish between 2 people , meaning we were 2 dishes of vegetables/gravy less than others. The amount that 4 people had to share meant that people had less than half a carrot and a spoon of sweetcorn. The meat was similar to that of a microwave meal. With the turkey having a strange taste and no sauces offered alongside ie. Mint for lamb or horseradish for beef which would have made it more palatable. The yorkshires were huge but overdone. Throughout the meal we watched staff sighing/huffing and pulling faces while walking food out to tables, the only time we saw a smile was when either a regular/person then knew came in and they'd perk up and exchange pleasantries. It's incredibly uncomfortable going to a restaurant where you feel unwelcome/burden. If I wanted to feel that way I would travel to those restaurants where they berate you . Once our plates were finally taken we were left waiting for ages to get desserts. Everyone was still hungry from the main and we'd seen others be served huge desserts. After another long wait for the deserts to come we were suprised to find the fudge cake was served cold which made it feel stale and didnt taste nice. Although overall the rest of the desserts were the nicest part of the experience bar the wait for them to come out. This wouldn't be a resteraunt we would go back to, or refer a friend to. The price doesn't not reflect the experience spending over £180 for a family meal that was so underwhelming. I've rated 2 stars, because the desserts were OK and the main was edible. Just not a great place for the price.

The staff is wonderful and friendly. There are so many choices on the menu. The food is solid. The salmon dish with prawn butter is one of my favourites

Food was lovely, tasted amazing. Staff friendly and really good portion sizes, you will not go home hungry. Was my first time here but will be going back.

Had a lovely meal today with my parents, the food was amazing and the staff were really lovely too, definitely will be returning

Lovely food and great service. I had the Monday mixed grill special and it was as delicious as it was huge. I can eat a lot but I struggled to finish it (I did though). All the food is sourced locally too, so it's helping the local economy and businesses. The food is also VERY reasonably priced too.

After a very sad funeral we were welcomed to this lovely place with food laid on thank you to all the staff that made us welcome at this sad time. I recommend for all types of do

Delicious, hot food, varied and great range of meals on menu, excellent service, dog friendly, bar area and restaurant, lots of parking and lovely staff. What more could you want. We had various meals from prawns, salmon, lamb steak, burger and jacket potatoes - so something for everyone. Heating on so we were lovely and warm. The service was exceptional. We will be back.

There have been evenings where I would happily score Lesters 5 stars. When they get things right, they can offer the best food locally, at reasonable prices, and served by a great team.. The midweek roasts and lovely puddings are great value. Check out the generous servings of banoffee pie! They just need to wake up to the fact that many diners need vegetarian options. Not that they are absent from the menu, just that they haven't been available on the day. I do hope that this will be resolved. Maybe check when you book to ensure that vegetarian options will be available on the day!

Good draught beer and excellent homemade food.Delicious liver and bacon and classic pub favourites.Highly recommended.

We were handed a 2 Course Menu for £15 only to be told after we had ordered we couldn't have this. The same food was available but for a different price. Food arrived with items missing. Chips were burnt .The service was as bad as the meal. Since new ownership the place has gone down hill fast. £7.95 for a glass of house wine absolutely daylight robbery.

1st time in this pub, lovely pub had sunday dinner, staff were very friendly, food was nice, but the service was poor, Ordered dinner, arrived in about 10 minutes, we had to keep asking for drinks , when bring drinks they never took emptys away, We had now been in here for 2 hours after arriving for us to end up asking for the menu for afters and which i must say was all very good. Personally i really do like the place and will return but staff need to see what is going on on the tables ie, empty glass ask if another drink is needed, if all has finished take plates glasses away and ask if you would like to see the afters menu. As a customer, i did not like to keep asking for drinks, menus, or to take cutlery away.

Friendly staff food reasonably priced

I have family staying with us & decided to take them to Lester's for dinner, we weren't disappointed, the service & food was excellent as always. My son was impressed with the portion size & how good the food tasted My 2 Granddaughters shared biscoff cheesecake & biscoff. sundae & were blown away, both saying it was teh best pudding they have ever tasted. They are still talking about it this morning. thanks to the staff for making there night out so special.

Went here for the first time on Sunday with a large group. Food was absolutely fantastic! Service was very friendly and we were made to feel right at home! Can't say enough about this place but I want to go back again as soon as I can!!!

We went for our parents 60th Anniversary meal last night. We were quite a large group but, the food was good, reasonably priced and the service and staff were brillant

My son decided that he wanted to have his birthday meal here and I am so pleased that he did. At first I was a little dubious about the portion sizes as the prices seemed rather cheap but I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised, they were massive! I had the steak ale and mushroom pie, it filled most of my plate before I had even added the chips and peas. We don't usually go for desserts as they usually cost half the price of the main meal but again the size was incredible, my son had the chocolate fudge cake big enough for two and all their desserts are reasonably priced at just £6.95. The whole bill for drinks, mains and desserts,although we only had two puddings, came to just £126.30, not bad for seven of us dining We are already planning our next visit, the whole experience was amazing from the food to the customer service the lady that served us was lovely I'm just so sorry that I forgot to leave her a tip but I will be doubling that up for her next time

Great atmosphere, really good, attentative staff with good, home cooked, pub food. What else do you want?

I started going in with the girls group and it was so good I went back with my husband, the girls, Crystal and Charlotte waited on us and they were so helpful and there was a lovely atmosphere. In there. There was a young boy going around called Tom. He was also lovely and friendly and created a lovely atmosphere. I would certainly recommend this to anybody it was lovely I have been back times since then and it’s been consistent thank you everyone

I can’t give the food, it’s not the Ritz but the food is great and plenty of it I have been in several times now I don’t normally do reviews food and the atmosphere is constantly good. Very good. In fact I would recommend this to anybody The girls that served me Crystal so helpful, I’m a big man and she found me the perfect seats for me and my family and Charlotte came to help lovely Atmosphere a really nice place to buy. I had my late mother's wake at Lesters on the 28/02/24. Amazing service and couldn't fault them. Buffet food was delicious and very cheap I would recommend them highly 👍

Table of 20 for a birthday celebration. The atmosphere was fabulous. The staff were attentive, nothing was too much trouble and the food was amazing. They went over and beyond for our group, and many of the table commented how nice it was. A special thanks to Kyle who has a very professional and approachable demeanour. Well done to all involved in making our evening one to remember.

Sadly, today's experience wasn't so good. Although it's now under new management, our small group didn't get great customer service. The food is still plentiful, but it lacks in gravy. And being tea total, I found the coffee that was served way below standard. Wasn't an enjoyable experience, and because of those sad points, I shall take our custom else where. Lester's should raise the price and improve on the quality because they're letting themselves down now.

Very disappointed after many decades of my extended family and I having been loyal customers, we have been treated disrespectfully by the staff. We started a new pool team this season after previously having a team there. The table is basically unusable due to its condition and I had to take my own pool balls! We were promised this would be sorted before the league started, but nothing has been done two months in, we were just fobbed off with excuses! The other teams were complaining about the table. To cap it all off the darts night clashes with the pool matches and the darts board is in the area needed to play pool. I spoke the interim landlady to try and get it sorted out and she was extremely rude and told us to leave. No wonder so many pubs are closing with attitudes like this! Such a shame that what was once a lovely family pub has been allowed to go downhill so rapidly. They have lost a lot of what were once loyal customers who would have spent a lot of money in there on a weekly basis!

We had an amazing night very efficient staff helpful pleasant what a brilliant evening we had highly recommended we even booked our Christmas Dinner for work

Had lovely lunch with my friend today for her birthday. Nice food and lovely service.

The roast dinner is to be recommended - great value for money and very tasty. Service was good - staff are very friendly and helpful. We've been before and we're a little concerned because it said it was under new management but everything was as good as it was before.

Excellent service and food. Well pleased. We will be going again. 10 out 10.

Visited after arranging for lunch and a catch up with a friend. My friend had arrived moments before me and was sat at a laid table and already had a menu and drink, and was told they would bring over the specials board. As I arrived, so did the specials board, and I was asked if I'd like to order a drink. I have tried to contact Lester's via FB and messenger to request their menu several days prior, but no response. A few minutes later our orders were taken. After around 45 minutes our food arrived, except my jacket potato which I was told would be another few minutes. All parts of the meal were served in separate dishes. My chicken was large, salad well presented but jacket potato a little on the hard side. Would I return? Yes if others chose the venue, but it wouldn't be my first choice in the area.

Went for a birthday lunch. We had a delicious roast dinner, with generous portions of veg, roast potatoes and meat. Nice selection of deserts. Excellent value for money Staff very kind and accomadating. Decor a bit old, but kind of cool at the same time.

My mash was instant mash, which was all grainy and lumpy. They made a good change of manager but the environment was uncomfortable

Absolutely phenominal service,location,food was divine and plentiful. A Christmas dinner second to none,decorations and table settings divine.Totally recommend it.....

This site is perfect for a party or group meal. We enjoyed a Christmas lunch for 15 people with excellent service from friendly extremely well trained staff. The food was traditional Christmas fayre or other excellent options. It was well cooked, hot and arrived on the table at the same time. If they can do it for 15 we will certainly be returning. Very impressive.

Went to Lesters with friends for pre christmas lunch. Food was amazing with a great selection of vegetables. Only one criticism with the vegetables was a large selection of new potatoes with the roasties which nobody chose. Might have been better to serve roasted parsnips which we all like. But the whole meal was so good. Thank you to all the servers and the chefs. Will definately return soon.

Eight of us friends, booked in advance, for an early Christmas Lunch, as Lesters Restaurant is always busy, which tells you, its very popular. We had a side room, with a round table, which was splendid, as we could chat to all. We ordered our drinks, and food. I had a Prawn and Crayfish to start, which was delicious, followed by Roast Turkey, with all the trimmings, really lovely! Just about had room for dessert. Big thankyou to all the Staff! Will return soon..

Wow, what an amazing Christmas Dinner. We were a party of 15 on our works Christmas meal, we originally booked for The Racing Greyhound, however they sadly couldn’t accommodate us due to having a kitchen fire, the staff rearranged our booking for Lesters. The tables were laid beautifully, and the food was excellent and sooo much of it. We will definitely recommend and rebook for next year. Thank you to all the staff.

Had Christmas Dinner with work colleagues.... prawn starter was a worry as so many Prawns looked like a main course .. was worried they were turning hence the amount ... Beef wellington was a welly boot .. also brought out with gravy on it so by the time you got a turn with the veg and potatoes it was all soggy and over cooked ... would have been nice to have a choice in how rare ...and the grey hair my dark haired colleague had was a not very nice extra .. pudding was a disaster... despite them being given everyone's choices in writing it all went wrong ... it would have also been nice to sit with colleagues on round tables rather than having the banquet experience..... Next year it'll be pegwell bay again xx

I always enjoy visiting Lester's, and it looks very festive and ready for Christmas 🎄. I had the Steak and Mushroom Pie, which was delicious. The meat was so tender. 👍

Was a good place to go when zoe was running it. Unfortunately now feel unwelcome with the change of management, and with keith and debbie going back on their word regarding having pool and darts teams can no longer recommend

On arrival the pub and restaurant was bright, clean and busy. We were seated and ordered drinks and Sunday roasts with Cauliflower cheese. The staff were welcoming, polite and although busy, were all smiling and nothing was too much trouble. Our meals arrived after a short wait, and they looked amazing. Beef pie and Roast beef with all the trimmings. The Pie and the Beef were tasty and tender. The veg was plentiful and the Cauliflower Cheese was delicious. It was a large plate of heaven, and to add to that there was extra roasts to boot. I can't wait to go back. Great place for any meal or just drinks. Well done to all the staff. They obviously work as a team to deliver a high level of customer service, and they did.

Food was good but the service was terrible. it took them an hour to serve us our first course and after that they decided they had run out of some of the dishes we had ordered. We arrived at 1pm and didn't get out till 3.30 !!!

Service was very good , staff were attentive. Chicken Douville , steak and tuna dinners were delicious and good value for money . Chocolate and Maltese cheese were very nice . We will definitely go again

We have lived in Thanet for 25 years and this was our first visit. I have no idea why we waited so long….we had a wonderful meal, the staff were extremely friendly and it was fantastic value. The only downside was an idiot in a Volvo CX90 who thought it was acceptable to block the car park and expect us to be grateful when he moved his car….other than that a brilliant afternoon and a return visit is on the cards.

Exceeded my expectations food was wonderful

We ordered drinks and a really lovely young lad served us. Then come and set our table. So polite. Ordered food. Then owner asked if all OK. I told him my pasta was luke warm. So he said he would take it of the bill. Which was nice of him. Then I went to bar and ordered another drink and dessert. We waited quite a while so asked a barmaid where they were. Well she come back and slammed them down and spoon no serviettes. When I paid the bill I told her I wasn't happy about the way she served us. She did apologise, but what else could she do? Maybe learn a lesson. I wanted to talk to the owner about it but he was really busy. I would love to go back. But will think about it.
