Visited with my husband and brother and Ordered 2 prawn and one mules mariners and while the prawn dishes was very good and the kitchen kindly peeled them for us at our request the mussels were very overcooked and shrivelled! We paid for our food upfront so when our food arrived the waitress asked if all was okay. We informed her the prawns were very good but the mussels were overcooked and very shrivelled and we had tasted better! Her response after we heard her telling the kitchen that someone was complaining about the mussels was they can’t possibly be overcooked as they had used a temperature probe to cook them! They were clearly very shrivelled Her response was very rude and they refused to offer a solution! Who uses a temperature probe for cooking mussels? Did they test each one!! Needless to say we left with a bowl of unfinished mussels on the table and no tip left!! Very poor customer service, which was a shame as the rest of the meal was very good!!

A great accidental find. The portions were large, the staff very accommodating. I had a salmon and cream sarnie, well filled, could have had a little more lemon for my taste. A friend wanted a ploughman’s, they were happy to change the cheese for a large pot of pate, she also didn’t want celery, they swapped it for pickles. There was also a big bunch of grapes. The 3rd in our party had a chicken salad, the chicken was a little dry but the salad was lovely with a nice dressing on it. Will deffo go back again. They have outside seating as well as inside.

We had previously had coffee there with no complaints, we went back and ordered 3 Ploughman’s lunches, which were described as coming with crusty bread. Their interpretation of Crusty Bread is Toast !!! Ask anyone what a ploughman’s lunch is and they will say bread or crusty bread. Whilst there was nothing wrong with the quay of the food, calling it a ploughman’s is in my opinion false advertising. It’s like asking for a Guinness and getting served Brown Ale. As I said quality of food was fine, but if you order a ploughman’s lunch it’s because you want a ploughman’s lunch and that is your expectation. Please just rename it so you don’t mislead folks. There is a picture of their toast ploughman’s on there webpage

The full English is odd The eggs aren't nice at all they taste off. The sausages were greasy. The hot chocolate had a taint to it from an uncleaned machine.. The fact we paid 45 quid for it and 3 quarters had been left should tell you everything you need

Nice quirky setting, menu looked really good was looking forward to the fish / seafood platter, however when went to the bar to order as directed by staff we were told "erm I think we have stopped serving food, yeah we have" Felt like they had just decided at that moment they couldn't be bothered to serve us. Yes it was about 2.30pm but there were still people at other tables eating and all the food menus were still on all the tables. Won't be rushing back.

Dirty, tables not cleaned between guests, staff nowhere to be found but usually behind counter ignoring customers. On several occasions customers came in, looking confused as no front of house and walked out again. From a once nice cafe to one where nobody cares any more and obviously don't want customers. Every other harbour cafe was packed.

Totally awful as no drinks menu available bar the alcoholic one's and could do with a good clean down. Asked for a flat white and got a cappuccino, hot chocolate with a flake that came with a hair in it and as we are all dark haired and the one on the flake was blonde hmm! The only saving grace was they got latte right and the service was was okay. However it would have been nice to have sat down and been able to take a breath before being pounced on. Walked in to the Arch bar and walked straight out again today! All the cafes were bustling outside and this one had free seats, and as we’ve had lots of nice cosy drink in here over the years we didn’t hesitate to go in. The tables were filthy and uncleared, and a waitress sitting doing a roll up told us to find a seat. They were filthy, uncleared and so uninviting that we turned round and walked back out. Such a shame as this place used to be good. Walked past a bit later and still no one eating or drinking there.

Firstly, online the place is described as a bar kitchen and lounge, it is nothing of the sort it is a scruffy cafe. We were already unsure when we turned up outside. However, we decided to go in as we had made a booking. When we went in the place was full of sofas not suitable for eating or the high end experience that we thought we would receive. Anyways turns out although we had phoned up and booked they didn’t have a table for us. They weren’t apologetic and all that was said was we will have to squeeze them in outside. Not sure on what the food is like as we decided to leave straight away.

We stopped in after a lovely meal in the town. The girl serving us didn't know what an Old Fashioned cocktail was so her colleague was helping. They used water to help dissolve the sugar, and didn't have any orange bitters. They basically served sweetened watered down bourbon. When I said that they hadn't served an old fashioned the barman argued that he hadn't known they didnt have orange angustora bitters. He did put normal bitters after I complained but it was the worst old fashioned I've had. Don't bother with cocktails here if you like a proper drink from a good mixologist

We came here on New Years Day - & although I accept that they might have been a bit hungover - they really shouldn't have opened if the staff were going to be that that far off the ball! We placed / paid for an order of 2 coffees & 1 bacon sandwich & went outside to wait. We really loved the outdoor armchairs / blankets, but when, after 30 minutes, there was no sign of our order, I went inside to chase it up, only to be told that the order hadn't got to the kitchen!!! - Helloo!! they were only 10 foot apart & the girl who told me this was the person who had served me. We got our money back & went elsewhere - such a shame, as the concept is brilliant, but really needs better management.

I’m amazed there are any good reviews of this establishment. I’ve only given it 1 star because of its attractive location. When we arrived for lunch the waitress cleared the table but failed to clean it at any point. There was litter and cigarette butts under the table so clearly no attention to cleaning whatsoever. My grandson ordered a toasted sandwich and it was only halfway through the meal that I noticed, when turning it over, that the underside was badly burned. I immediately returned it and said we didn’t have time to wait for another do asked for a pastry in compensation. Minuscule choice and the shortbread I chose tasted pretty much stale. They overcharged by £6 but we managed to recover this when we challenged them. Another two couples were complaining about various aspects of the service while we were there. In summary, overpriced poor food with bad service. There are so many more superior establishments in Ramsgate so beware of this one.

Inside there were plenty of comfy chairs. The owner was sat opposite and chatty and all the staff were really friendly. There is a massive choice of gins to try and various cocktails. Whilst we was sat there we were given s few snacks with cheese, pretzels etc on. A DJ also set up whilst we was sat there. What should have been just one drink we ended up staying for several hours as really enjoyed it there. What a great venue with great atmosphere and fun staff. My wife organised a 40th party for me here and everything was spot on! Where to start, the owner is such a great guy, he ensured everything was spot on from the start excluding the DJ played the right kind of music to buying in Doombar at the 11th hour as that is my tipple of choice. The staff were all polite, great fun and looked after the guests at all times. The venue itself is great, easily held the 70 odd guests without feeling crowded and at the same time didn't feel empty when just the hardcore drinkers were left in the early hours. The DJ had done his homework and everyone commented what a great job he did. The food was top class and really tasty, you could tell care and attention was used in the preparation. A fire pit was was a nice touch, great for the smokers and vapours, and added to an incredible night. Having been here on a few random nights out, this is also a very good bar throughout the day and night and would recommend anyone to pop in for a bite to eat and drink.

We only wanted a small meal having indulged in a roast Sunday lunch and this place was recommended by our hotel for a light meal and suggested the meat platter a the cheese platter.Wine was served by the glass so a Pinot Noir for me and almost a french Sauv Blanc for my wife. I say almost because as we were ordering the drinks someone, who I think turned out to be the owner, said the Chilean version was good.Unfortunately not. For the next round we opted for the French and it was far superior. Maybe the Chilean had been open for some time. The cheese platter was excellent with 5 varieties but the meat platter was a little disappointing due to the lack of quantity. We called in for a drink and a snack whilst on a brief visit to Ramsgate. They appear to have an extensive drinks menu. The food ranges from snacks up to a full blown meal. The prices were a bit in the high side but I think that it being a more upmarket site with a good view of the boats in the harbour that is normal. One interesting thing was that originally before the road was built the water extended into the arches that are now shops and bars, boats were floated into the arches for repairs and worked on under cover.

We stopped here for a drink after having a pleasant walk around the harbour on a sunny Friday morning. We sat outside as it was a lovely day and decided to have two coffees and a slice of cake (we had already had breakfast not long ago!) You have to order and pay for your food and drink at the bar inside, and your drinks, etc are then brought to your table. We didn't have to wait too long. The lemon polenta cake was tasty and the coffees were good. The menu had a variety of meals, and a lot of people were having a breakfast. From what we could see they did look very nice and popular! Outside seating is within a glass perimeter and not right on the road (no pavement as such as this is right next to the harbour). The glass adds a nice touch and stops the wind and the smell of the exhaust fumes from the cars that might pass by.The staff were pleasant and courteous, and the cafe was very welcoming.

I have never had such an appalling meal, if you can call it that. If it had not been for the fact that we were with my elderly mother we would have sent the food back. Three of us ordered the "Prawn salad with brown bread and butter" relishing the idea of this, on the harbour front, on a beautiful sunny day. Expecting a fresh and appetising lunch we were presented with a bowl/plate with the surface covered with lettuce like the "fresh and crispy" bagged lettuce you find in the supermarket. There were no other salad items involved. Not a tomato or a piece of cucumber in sight or anything else. I had the sum total of 14 prawns, well shrimps really and one king prawn proudly laid in the centre, a less than flavoursome Marie Rose sauce and the highlight was the bread and butter which was a least fresh. All this for the princely sum of £9. Having said that the staff were lovely and very pleasant. The responsibility for the dreadful food should be that of the owner/manager. This was certainly not a salad and I would recommend anyone eating here should ask exactly what the components of their meal will be before parting with any money. Needless to say, we won't be troubling The Arches again.

We visited the Arch Bar last Saturday night. This is a compact bar built into one of the brick arches on the marina front at Ramsgate. Inside, the bar is comfortable with plenty of sofas to sit at, and there's a little Mezzanine floor to the rear which is extra cosy. The bar staff are friendly and efficient even when the bar is busy, and the premium beers are well priced for the location. Much of the rest was burned. All this was obvious to kitchen but still they sent it out - why???Our experience was the same - no table check either - a real lack of care so we use somewhere else now.Streaky bacon may not be to all tastes either. There are better breakfasts about so I would avoid this one.

Have eaten here a few times now. The food is quite good but the service is usually very slow and they often seem to get orders either wrong or mixed up. But the owner is a very genial host, if slightly eccentric. It is situated in a nice position under the arches on the harbour wall and has good outside seating.

Great location but service painfully slow. Second visit to the Arch bar, this time on the Friday of the bank holiday weekend. One person serving drinks behind the bar whilst 3 younger men were working in the kitchen, one washing empties & one person wandering in & out clearing tables & bringing out food. The one person serving behind the bar was constantly being distracted by a man who appeared to be present in a formal capacity asking him questions about the bar which further delayed the service.

Away from the Main busy parts of Ramsgate, this bar was a great find & absolute little gem. Overlooking the Marina, we went here twice. Once for a lunch time beer & the following day for lunch and beer again as one does when one is away for a couple of days on a short breakWill definitely return. Lovely to sit here with a beer and watch the world go by

I went here twice - once for coffee and once for a drink. The views are brilliant and it stays in the for longer than the other restaurants under the arches.

Because again of its location this is a wonderful place to visit with superb views over the marina. It became our number two spot in Ramsgate for drinks and breakfast. We had breakfast twice the full English one day which is huge and the next time we had the highly recommended smoked haddock and poached egg.The meals are cooked to order and you can easily find yourself spending all morning there as it is so popular and welcoming. The only down side is by choosing to eat outside there is no segregation from smokers. This is my bug bear.

A small menu with light bites, sandwiches, panini and wraps, but sadly didn't get to try them. Found a table outside to watch the world go by then went inside to order, three staff behind the bar, two looking vague and disinterested the other taking a customer food order but when it was my turn they weren't taking food orders as they were catering for a wedding. The non vague staff member did apologise and dealt with the drink order quickly, if it's good enough for a wedding it's good enough for us to try again I live in hope they have more than one member of staff on the ball next time.

Lovely little bar, fantastic location- chose this venue to celebrate my 40th birthday! We had asked for some nibbles for our guests ( in advance) and the food was absolutely outstanding! Beautifully presented and great quality! All our guests were very impressed and no one went home hungry! All the staff were very friendly and helpful, Would defiantly recommend this bar to anyone. We love it!

We had a milkshake, a coca cola , a coffee & a cider and the bill was nearly 15 pounds totally over priced for what you get, luckily didn't try the food! The coffee was tepid to say the least and had the look of dirty water! (cheap coffee) The milkshake was nice my daughter said but at the price it should be! The cider was good but at again at the price paid one would expect nothing less. Service is not ok. Would i go back again if I was in Ramsgate definitely NOT!

Located in the arches overlooking the Royal Harbour, the Arch Bar offered a calm and comforting atmosphere, and a very comforting stay. We had a few drinks, all of which came quickly and with a smile. We found it a great experience and were only sorry that we couldn't go again.

If you are looking for a place which welcomes the over forties and has a great selection of wine and beers, this place is a real find. I must admit that I haven't tried the food but it great for wine and the staff are really friendly. It has a cosy and friendly atmosphere and really sort 40 somethings. In the summer, you can enjoy sitting on the edge of the harbour watching the world go by and in the winter, the bar is stuffed with comfy leather sofas.

Overall looks pleasantly situated overlooking Ramsgate harbour. Order your food at the bar and wait to be served. So far so good.Food was pleasantly displayed, but tasted bland no flavour at all. I ordered the prawn salad and brown bread, there was very few frozen prawns, really awful. The prices are what you would pay in London, so my prawn salad cost me £8.50 and a small glass of white wine and a gin and tonic costs 10.50. Outrageuous, I paid the bill, but never again, I can't even complement the service sorry. Please don't waste your money, there are other nice venues along the harbour front, that serve better food at more realistic prices.

Visited here last week for lunch whilst visiting Ramsgate. We have been here before and it never disappoints! This time we enjoyed the meat platter, tune mayo on brown and a salami and cheese Panini...all really fabulous washed down with cold ginger beer, tonic and a coffee. Set overlooking the marina in an arch it is full of atmosphere with plenty of seating in and out and very friendly vibes. Glorious for a hot summer day to sit outside watching Ramsgate bloom into a great place to be. Love it! Thank you to Miles and his fabulous bar and staff.

Had a really nice lunch with a friend, but really put off my the barman who seemed totally uninterested that we were there, asked us to pay for our meal up front (not sure why, other customers had the usual restaurant treatment) and never checked if we wanted more drinks (we did) so we left earlier than we planned. That said the waitress was fine, and the food was great, so I will prob try it again, and hope the barman was just having a rubbish day..

Having previously enjoyed our visits I was very disappointed in the customer service 2 coffees and a slice of cake.. 30 mins later.. I had to complain before someone got their act together and made the order which turned out to be wrong and had to send back .. Nobody was making an effort to help as I stood waiting for assistance and it wasnt even busy I felt ignored. When it was finally sorted to top it off smoke was billowing over from other customers yuk!

Excellent service for six friends early afternoon. Owner very friendly chap, happy to chat with customers. Good wines, good beers, although bottles. Venue cosy and quirky. Spot the gas canister lights above the bar. Haven't tried the food yet but the stuff that went past us looked good. Dogs welcome too.

Sunday dinner with the family . Warm welcome, very busy but they coped well . Sunday roasts were lovely , plenty of meat , roasties in a bowl . We ordered pigs in their blankets as an extra well worth it . Prices were very reasonable , will return.

This place is a lovely atmosphere however one of our servers was quite rude. I didn’t catch her name however she was blonde and a slim figure. Her skirt was so short and her attitude was rude. I expected more from this restaurant. Food was great.

Reading the other reviews on here I believe I may have just come on a bad day. £7.50 for an incredibly small breakfast sandwich without any sauce with burned bacon, overcooked egg and tough bread. Took them about 25 minutes to get around to serving it while a small Scottish gentleman frantically ran around shouting “2 minutes “ in every direction to just about anyone who would listen. I certainly wouldn’t be recommending this establishment to anyone
