The Hive Cafe in Thanet

We had looked at breakfast options before visiting and were keen to try The Hive as everything looked so delicious and well presented. I was not disappointed! Tasty food, nicely plated and wonderful friendly service. Took a chocolate muffin away for later, also very yummy!

I enjoyed a vegetarian English breakfast at The Hive and was thoroughly impressed. The service was excellent, and Karina, the lovely owner, made the experience even better with her warm hospitality. The breakfast was delicious and well-portioned, and my oat latte was perfect. I also tried their Brazilian style carrot cake, orange cake, and cheese bread; all were fresh and delightful. The Hive itself is cozy and inviting, making it a must-visit for a hearty meal or a sweet treat. Highly recommended!

What a wonderfully cozy cafe! We enjoyed a delicious and very substantial, full English breakfast. Delightful, friendly service and outstanding food. We will return tomorrow for lunch in the pretty little garden.

Although we live in Ramsgate, we have never visited this cafe/ tea room . We saw they are advertising a festive afternoon tea and booked to go along. We received a warm welcome on arrival when we sat down there were Christmas crackers on the table. We both had a pot of tea (which is bottomless with the afternoon tea) always good to get it in a pot as well then the food arrived looked amazing and it tasted as good as it looked. It was fairly busy, but we did not feel rushed or ignored, but the ladies We recommend the Hive to anyone and will definitely return more often to help support local independent businesses like this. Thank you to everyone at the hive for a very enjoyable afternoon.

I've visited this establishment on several occasions. Food is beautifully cooked and so fresh. The cakes are amazing, all freshly baked. Staff and owner are so lovely and friendly. Always look forward to a trip to The Hive! ❤️

4 of us had a wonderful afternoon tea at the Hive. I had to make a last minute change to the time because of a health appointment and the staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating, moving it to the morning for me. The afternoon tea was excellent value for money and absolutely delicious. We felt very welcomed, well looked after and very well fed 😊

Stumbled across this place after struggling to find enticing eatery in Ramsgate. The owner made us feel very welcome and was very attentive towards our two young kids. There was a good choice on the menu and the food was lovely and cooked fresh, it was also reasonably priced. Will visit again

I have visited The Hive several times, and each time received impeccable service and delicious food and the atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. My favourite dish to have every time I visit is the sausage sandwich, which has a delicious onion marmalade, and is served with crisps, coleslaw and salad - all super fresh and super flavorful! The portion is extremely generous for a very fair price. The cakes are wonderful too! All are handmade, and are super creative. The presentation makes me tempted to have one every time, and each cake I've had is moist, chocolatey and super mourish. The Hive is a regular lunch spot for me, so I highly recommend it! 5 stars all round.

Popped into the the hive after having a walk through town and someone had told me that the hive was the place to go for food and a relaxing atmosphere. The food and service was fantastic and the manger was on hand asking if I needed anything else and was giving me more information about the town. Great knowledge. The chef also came out of the kitchen even tho it was extremely busy and gave me a good amount of her valuable time to talk me though the menu and you and some questions I had. I have no idea how such a small team can do what they do it really is incredible. I would fully recommend the hive and can’t wait to go back for the best breakfast in Ramsgate.

We waited 25 minutes for a ‘full english’ only to receive child size portions and tepid service. The hash browns were so small you could have eat all in one mouthful (no exaggeration). Honestly for £8.50 they are having an actually laugh.

On a cold soggy day, we stepped insiode to receive a warm welcome. Bright,clean decor. I chose chicken,,bacon and avocado salad while my friend opted for poached eggs on toast, Both dishes were excelent . Washed down with a pot of tea, we had a really enjoyable luch at reasonable cost.Will be back soon to sample the afternoon tea

This has to be the best Afternoon Tea ever!! Delicious, fresh, yummy food including an array of savoury and sweet treats. Sausage rolls & quiche were exceptional! Savoury and sweet scones so light and fluffy! Mini cakes delightful that just melted in your mouth! Thank you so much The Hive I cant wait to come back!!

Our first visit to Hive following a recommendation. We had a granola/fruit/yoghurt breakfast (wish we had taken a photo) large portion and beautifully presented. Also avocado and eggs on sour dough with chorizo jam. Both were delicious. We received a friendly warm welcome and great service. Can't wait to return for lunch next time.

We went after it had just re opened after lockdown, They was only offering takeaway and a limited menu. Staff were chatty and really friendly. Sandwiches were amazing the bread was delicious. Picked up a biscoff rocky road and wow it was amazing I can’t wait to re visit when things are back to normal. I have recently moved down to Thanet from Manchester and yesterday I thought I would try some breakfast in a Café some of my friends had recommended. As soon as I walked through the door I was immediately greeted with a big smile and shown to a table. I had a coffee and a breakfast which was superb. To top it off I had one of the homemade cakes and to say it was delicious would be the biggest understatement of 2020. With everything going on in the world at the moment this place is a slice of heaven. Will be returning for sure!C

Have just come back from an afternoon tea here. One of the best teas I have had. A selection of hot savouries including a soup was a welcome extra along with cheese and ham sliders. Delicious homemade scones and cakes and tea topped it of. Great service with a smile. Will definitely recommend and return...

I Came in during storm Dennis this past weekend, Dennis was giving it his absolute best to ruin our weekend but we braved it to go for a family brunch. We were told by friends about the hive and we just had to go see what the hype was all about. When we walked in from the rain we were greeted with a beautiful smile and an amazingly strong welcome from a young lady called india. She was so friendly and so endearing. The service was quick and great and even with a full cafe on her own she was able to deliver the best brunch I’ve ever eaten. Storm Dennis may have ruined the outdoor activities but it certainly didn’t ruin the brunch. Will definitely come again. 10/10.

We were treated to afternoon tea at The Hives yesterday. The ambience was peaceful, food scrummy, staff lovely.. Our food was served up really quickly and we were left to enjoy our time and food. Was a really lovely couple of hours. We would recommend this tea rooms to our friends and family. They were spotlessly clean!!

We've visited twice this month and we are extremely impressed. Both the breakfasts and the lunches were perfect. Clean ordered environment, friendly thoughtful service and delicious food cooked with fresh quality ingredients. So glad this place is close to our home.

I hadn’t heard of The Hive but I am really pleased a friend introduced me to it today. We received a really warm welcome and the service was super throughout our lunch. I enjoyed a tasty breakfast (the bacon was lovely) and my friend said the bruschetta she had was lovely too. Also had a Nutella cupcake-wow! One of the best I have tasted. Really enjoyed our visit and I will certainly be returning and recommending The Hive to family and friends. Such a lovely relaxed place to catch up with a friend. Thank you for a great lunch.

I work from home a lot in my job and spent a long time trying to find a cafe that was suitable to work in and that served good food with a friendly atmosphere. This cafe honestly does give you all of that and more. The services is brilliant and i am always made to feel very welcoming and the food is by far the best I have ever had from a cafe. I can sit in there all day and work happily around very friendly customers and staff 10/10 all round.

My wife and I wanted to try somewhere new to us & we where advised that this was a good place to try. We went on a Saturday lunchtime & it was quiet I had a coffee & my wife had hot chocolate both were good as was the food the only issue was my wife wanted scrambled eggs & she got fried not a big issue as the rest was good & the service was friendly.

My sister took me to The Hive for the first time on my birthday a couple of weeks ago and since then I've been telling EVERYONE to go and eat there! The food is so, so good and the cakes are the best I've ever had (and I've eaten a lot of cake!) It's a fantastic little place to pop into for a coffee or a meal, friendly, comfortable and welcoming! If you're in Ramsgate definitely pay them a visit!

I found this cafe on Trip Advisor so booked for me and 2 friends. They catered for gluten free (my friend was very happy she could have a sandwich!) and vegetarians. Great service and very yummy food.

I have visited this cafe three time now, once for an afternoon tea, then for brunch and today for lunch.

A friend introduced me to this place, then a week later I came back with my partner, there’s not a bad word I can say about this place, the young girl who owns is a delight and she makes the BEST cupcakes, brunch hits the spot perfectly, can’t wait to come back again for their afternoon tea.

Had a full English breakfast, very tasty not greasy and lovely thick white bread with normal baked beans! Just what I like. Such pretty decor, lovely warm welcome. Worth every prenny. The cupcakes are to die for!!

This little cafe is a gem . The afternoon tea is amazing. Small tasty bites of loveliness. Each mouthful is an explosion of flavours. The brioche rolls delicious. The cakes delicious. Lush afternoon tea. Really nicely layed out too. Nice change to have rolls, soup and mini tarts instead of the usual things. Even mini puddings.

I can’t recommend this place enough, we have been here multiple times and every time we leave super happy! The bagel with chorizo jam is to die for and the cupcakes are just so delicious you will want to try every flavour (and there are quite a few to choose from!). The staff are super friendly and can’t do enough for you which just makes everything ten times better. The only thing I would recommend is that they invest in baby changing facilities (maybe they have already done so?) as that would make life so much easier.

What a place. I just went in for a takeaway sandwich as my wife told me she had lunch here the other day and all I can say is...superb. I ordered the chicken, salad and pesto mayo on granary. Number 1- door stop thick break, lush, number 2, plenty of filing, and 3...that pesto mayo is fantastic- the balance is perfect. The wife had the cheese and chutney sandwich on granary...toasted! Amazing! The tomato chutney was to die for. To top it off, then even give you the side salad garnish and homemade potato salad to go with it!! I don't know anywhere in ramsgate that does that! To finish we had the nutella cupcake...outstanding! Tasted just like nutella, and with the kinder bueno piece on top, beautiful. Highly recommend this place, and if say it's definitely 1 of the very top café's in thanet!!

Visited with a group of friends for afternoon tea. We have been to many different venues for afternoon tea and the Hive is definitely at the top of the list. Variety of savoury snacks and filled rolls, Cakes and pastries . All delicious. Service great and staff very friendly. Would highly recommend.

What a little cozy gem in the heart of Ramsgate! Food and service was amazing, would definitely recommend a visit!

My friend took me to The Hive today, she loved it so much yesterday, that she brought me today. I had garlic mushrooms on toast with brie, lovely portion, absolutely gorgeous, followed by a caramel, chocolate cupcake. My friend had a bruschetta with avacado and tomatoes, followed by a coffee and walnut cupcake. Beautiful, fresh food, the cupcakes were light, moist and I want more. Going back when I can.

Tried it for the first time for a bit of a late breakfast & was very pleased. I had a bacon & egg sandwich & my friend had the breakfast, was really nice & certainly seemed freshly cooked. If I have one small criticism it is that the bacon had quite thick rind that I'm not a fan of, but thats my taste. Great friendly & attentive staff. Would recommend.

We work in a salon down the road and often order from The hive for lunch. I have also gone for coffee and breakfast with family as it's a lovely atmosphere .

I have been here a few times now and each time it gets better and better! The food is delicious and the cupcakes are out of this world! The owner is so lovely and makes you feel welcome and relaxed within seconds. So I popped in to ask for a menu to take back to the office and the lady could not have been friendlier.

We had heard about this place so took ourselves off to have a look omg so glad we did the food is absolutely amazing couldn’t eat it all was so big but didn’t get wasted as we got a doggy bag we also couldn’t leave without one of their lovely cupcakes so delicious will definitely be returning & recommending to everyone we talk to! The service was also just as wonderful as the food look forward to our next visit
