We went for a family lunch, I ate a bacon chicken and avocado sandwich and salad with a cup of coffee. at first it seemed fine then needed the toilet, twice before I paid, 3 times in the next 20 min. by the next day I was in bed with stomach cramps. I called the restaurant and spoke with the manager who was very apologetic, he said to email him and he would sort something out to say sorry. No reply, tried the restaurants email address a few times as well - nothing, not even a sorry be careful

Went last Wednesday for a bite of lunch down by the harbour in the sunshine. An unassuming place from the outside. The Cafe is divided into 2 parts with the second being a retail area which we didn't try. Archive Cafe has an interesting display counter where you can see exactly what's on offer. Inside seating area different aswell as a clutch of outside tables looking over the harbour. We chose a couple of quiches from the specials with salad. Mine was Mushroom & blue cheese & a side of coleslaw, all made in the kitchen. loved every last mouthful. Followed it by a Mixed berry Swedish bun, just so moist & packed with flavour & a coffee where clearly the "barrista" knew their stuff - a mere americano at that. Worth searching out.

Disappointing. Only wanted a light lunch, so ordered a Smoked Salmon & Cream Cheese Sandwich, which comes with a side salad. On the menu it did only have bagel and I didn't want one and asked if I could have a sandwich instead, and they seemed confused by what a sandwich was, as they asked me do you mean two slices of bread with the salmon inside. My husband also had a sandwich. My husband's cappuccino was tiny for the price. If I had a mind to I could have played hunt the salmon in the sandwich, but just accepted it, but the side salad consisted of a couple of strands of green lettuce, not what I call a side salad. The staff looked bored, won't be rushing back. If you are only going for the area, it's beautiful with a lovely view of the harbour

Archive is one of the best, most reliable places to eat in Ramsgate and it looks out on the harbour. We had 2x avocado on toast and 1 creamy mushrooms on toast. All excellent and - these days - good value for freshly prepared food. They do excellent breakfasts too. Need to come here more often.

Came here today and very disappointed with the customer service and food. Only come here if you’re willing to wait an hour for food! Not worth it. It took about 20 minutes to even be served, then 20 minutes just to get a drink and another 20 for food and it wasn’t even busy.

Such a disappointing experience. Good reviews, great location, terrible service. We ordered two iced lattes and sat down outside. We were the only couple there. The lattes were brought out 10 minutes later after another two couples had arrived. The waitress took the first lattes to another couple. We told her they were ours but she ignored us. That couple drank some and then told her there’s had been oat milk lattes. She didn’t apologise. I then went inside to use the toilet. A cherubic looking waiter told me it was out of order. I said ok and...(waiting for an alternative to be offered). No answer so I had to ask where I could go. I had to walk to the public toilets on the other side of the harbour because no deal had been struck with a neighbour. There were a few other little things like this - we were only there half an hour. Could be such a lovely place but the staff need more training and an experienced supervisor.

Lovely, tasty and wholesome food, with a nice view of the harbour from upstairs. Feels like a cross between a Scandinavian library and a design agency but in an interesting and historic building. Prices were quite steep - £3 for two small and stiff slices of bacon (as an extra) is asking a bit much. Coffee was nice and tasty, but cups a little on the small side.

With the start of a new year and decade looming, I decided it was time to try out some of the trendy restaurants that have been popping up around Ramsgate Harbour. Paying the exorbitant price of £1.40 to park my car alongside the quay for an hour, we bimbled along the picturesque setting viewing each establishment in turn. The Archive looked appealing with its high-arched double doors and beckoning swiss-style furhishings. The interoir was clean and airy. Too airy, and cold, as we discovered while seated. Patrons and staff continued to leave the main door wide open, whilst other patrons and staff continually rose to close it. Perhaps a self-closing hinge on the top of the door for use in the cold weather (NB - not all low temperatures are in Winter) would be a good investment, not to mention a fire safety bonus too.Sadly for me, there was little to excite my palette. The almond croissant on the menu wasn't avialable, neither was the plain croissant. I quite detest anything that does not want to be eaten without too much effort. Apart from the dreaded wooden seats (as I may have mentioned from time to time) another of my pet hates is Toasted Sourdough. Sourdough is okay untoasted, I can just about manage the awful stone-hard crust, but toasted? It is a thing of nightmares and I'd liken it to having a shard of glass in my mouth despite its pleasant flavour. I was informed The Archive does not serve any other type of bread. My husband is made of stronger stuff than me and opted for the mushrooms in a sauce on said toast, which he said was good, though he couldn't cut his toast up because it was too hard and resorted to requesting my assistance. I should point out here that my husband was wearing a body sling following Rotor Cuff surgery and this was the reason for his ineptitude.I selected a piece of banana, walnut and maple cake for my breakfast. Not something I normally do, prefering a savory start to my day. It was good, if a little too large and had me beat two-thirds of the way through. I did enjoy browsing in their 'shop' section. Definiately items you won't find in general shops and supermarkets. The Gin & Tonic dark chocolate, the fairy tattoos and assorted puzzle games, not to mention adorable Jelly-Cat soft toys, Blue Whales, Flamingoes and foxes to name but a few. I spent more on shopping items than breakfast. The serving staff were attentive and polite. The toilet, despite there only being one downstairs, was clean with separate hand towels, nice touch, and air freshener. Overall, this is not the kind of place where I like to have breakfast, but judging by the menu vegetarians and vegans might. It's a smart new place with a very Scandinavian feel to it, intentionally. A good place to hang out and I'd come here for a coffee/tea with friends. There is an upstairs room that can be used as overflow space and for private functions. I'd be interested to see how this place evolves over the next few years and will return to try their chocolate chilli drink, one of my favourites at my next incursion.

My 74th Birthday Party was arranged in secret for the 25th May, much to my trepidation and horror and I must say the event was fabulous, even though I get edgy with surprises. Staff very attentive and the upstairs space was welcoming, roomy and had lovely views. The buffet put on by Naomi was delicious and they accommodated and served two special birthday cakes made by a friend. I'm not a drinker, but there wasn't much wine left by those that attended, so it must have been good. All in all, an evening I won't be forgetting as a great time was had by all. Thank you Archive. We were a large party celebrating my husband's birthday on a long weekend. Our favourite haunts for breakfast in Ramsgate were closed for January; however, we were delighted to discover Archive on Saturday 12 Jan. The long refectory table accommodated our party perfectly and our order was taken promptly with a welcoming and courteous smile from the efficient young waiter. Water was provided quickly, followed by excellent coffee (the likes of which I've not tasted since visiting Café Gandolfi in Glasgow 4 years ago). All 7 breakfasts arrived at the same time and we were wowed by the quality and excellent service. My perfectly cooked scrambled egg (at least 3 eggs) and field mushrooms were freshly cooked and presented on sour dough toast, along with a beautifully ripe avocado. We were so impressed that we returned again this morning. This time I had a delicious bowl of steaming, creamy porridge with apple and cinnamon compote, honey and nuts. A friend had the scrambled eggs again and they looked just as amazing as yesterday. The menu was varied and catered for a number of dietary requirements. There was a vast array of high quality cakes and pastries available and the food that was being presented for lunch as we were leaving looked scrumptious. I also enjoyed the tunes being played; British Sea Power for a bit I think, then some old soul - great breakfast music. Can't wait to visit Archive and Ramsgate again soon.

Archive is a true find in a delightful portside location. The very modern interior can seem a bit harsh at first sight but hang on in there, the food is great in a healthy, modern way. It is a very casual place and one could describe the food as brunch-like, cooked to order. The staff are excellent, friendly and accommodating. The location at the side of the only Royal Harbour in the UK is unique, unfortunately, there is not enough frontage to guarantee a place with a view. Stopped for lunch on our tandem while on the Viking Trail. Good to see a selection of non-standard menu items. I had the gravadlax on sour dough, which was delicious and filling, my wife had the smashed avocado on sourdough, which was also delicious. Both were well presented with a good green salad plus very tasty dressing. The setting overlooking the harbour is perfect for a sunny day and the interior is nicely done with stylish fittings, including very nice and clean loos.

I had a fantastic lunch here with my sister. We had a spicy sweet potato dish. Quite delicious. Excellent puds too - an amazing chocolate raspberry tart washed down with a good strong expresso. I could not fault it frankly.

Sunny blue skies really helped but great spot to sit outside and top quality food. Very friendly service and interesting shop with usual designer books and ceramics.

Amazing coffee. Really lovely cakes , some vegan. The male staff seem aloof and unwelcoming but the coffee makes up for this. Good selection of interior books too.

This place is located under the arches at The Royal Harbour. It is deceptively large inside with a communal table downstairs and another gallery upstairs with great views. The coffee here is excellent and the cakes look amazing although we did not have one. This space also doubles as a gallery for their modern and stylish homewares / accessories. The staff were very friendly and helpful providing good advice about shopping in Ramsgate.

Good selection of gifts for sale and a nice little coffee shop with decent food. Scandinavian style interior which is modern and quirky. Food was good and tasty and flavourful. Worth a visit when in Ramsgate.

This was my second visit to this establishment, my first wasn't that memorable as I found the staff not that friendly but as I was on my own I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I went back today with my girlfriend and found the service poor and the staff no friendlier. We waited 15 minutes for two pieces of cake and two coffees with no apology but yet the table next to us arrived after us and got served before we did, they also received an apology for their wait! We won't be going back.

We were treated to a wonderful meal here last night, everything was beautifully presented and utterly delicious. Although they specialise in breakfast and lunch, this evening meal was extra special. Added to this, Naomi and her team take a great deal of pride in selecting mostly local and ethically produced food and it is great value for money!

First found this place while out for a walk, had lunch and have returned since. Very informal, one large shared table but interesting and very flavoursome menu. Would certainly recommend for a casual lunch.

Archive nestles in the arches by the marina. On a beautiful day like today (cold but bright blue skies) the view over the marina might just be in the South of France - well maybe ! I had delicious gravlax and scrambled eggs on sourdough and my husband had Swedish meatballs with greens and mash . Both dishes generous and delicious and were washed down with the best flat white in Thanet ! Archive is definitely a must for a Ramsgate visit !

We visited ramsgate and friends recommended we visit for a hot chocolate . We sat on the first floor and the view was star. Sadly my hot choc was too sweet for me, but probably a personal preference. Worth a mooch as they have some great products.

I've ever only popped in for brunch or a coffee but everytime the food has been great. Amazing view of the harbour from the seating outside and upstairs is light and airy. A must visit for any missing the London feel.

Felicity’s Cafe at Quex in Birchington is an absolute gem. Picture this—you roll up to this quaint little spot, and from the second you walk in, it’s got that vibe. Friendly, warm, like you’re part of the family. We’re talking fresh, local ingredients that just hit differently. The coffee? Smooth. The cakes? Sweet but not too sweet. Service? Spot on. The folks here treat you right, not in some fake, scripted way. You can tell they care, like they want every dish to be a hit, and let me tell you—it is. You want cozy, comfort, and quality all wrapped up in one? Felicity’s Cafe nails it.

My friend and I went here for the first time on a weekday lunchtime and found seating downstairs. As all busy upstairs and we didn’t want to sit outside or in the covered walkway to the cinema area. We both thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and coffee. I had prawn and avocado sandwich on brown bread with salad and Kent Crisps my friend had smoked Salmon and cream cheese bagel that also came with salad and crisps. The cakes looked very nice but we were a bit full to try them probably will in our next visit. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I will definitely go back!
