Haven't tried any of the food yet but always a good atmosphere and feel to the pub.

Ended up in The Drapers Arms by chance, and decided to test their claim that they served the best Korean Chicken Wings, a bold statement in a town full of chicken wing restaurants and outlets. The verdict- they were amazing! By far the best wings we had during our stay (and we sampled a lot of places), and easily rival any I’ve had throughout my travels. Adding to the experience was the excellent, welcoming service provided by the staff. Really friendly and even added some extra wings as some of the first batch were smaller than they’d prefer(they did this without us asking and the smaller wings were bigger than many outlets serve as standard!) Great job Drapers team, we will definitely be back when next in Canterbury.

Came in here as no football on the tv, sadly bar man decided to livestream the game on his phone, ruined atmosphere. When I spoke to the man he claimed to be the manager and continued to drink larger and was rude, passive aggressive and awful. Blamed customers for creating a bad atmosphere. Never again. None of the staff have any idea about customer service. If he's the manager drinking larger then who's responsible. Staff don't even know who owns the place. No apology from the sober staff. See other reviews and stay clear. This is the first negative thing I've ever put on a review. The guy needs sacked.

Keep forgetting just how loud the music is in here. Avoid if you want to chat or enjoy peace and quiet. Coffee is still delicious.

Dirty and very average:( visited today with family. Had to return cup as filthy and then brought another also dirty. Probably should have left then. Ordered. Skillet was cold and egg snotty. Chai cold and when I opened pot it was filthy. Put it down to a bad experience but daughter needed toilet. Wish we hadn’t gone in. Toilet seat was something from uni nightclub. Wee on floor. Walls and general filth everywhere. Paid and told waitress and got a shrug. Really wished we hadn’t thrown away £40 on naff food in dirty surroundings

The Beaney Cafe is spacious with high ceilings and probably a good place to meet with friends if you are a little bit unsure about meeting in a public place at the moment. The Earl Grey Cake was absolutely delicious and the staff, as always, are very obliging and friendly. Definitely recommend this as a place to meet with friends during this Coronovirus situation, as long as they stay open!

Well what can I say! Thought we would try somewhere new but should have gone elsewhere for something to eat!!! My husband ordered a toasted sausage sandwich (can't get that wrong, surely) and I ordered a veggie dish which sounded nice and was supposed to have new potatoes, broccoli, sun-dried tomatoes, Parmesan, rocket and pumpkin seeds. I got a half filled bowl of semi-hard new potatoes, a bit of broccoli, a couple of salad leaves (but not Rocket) a sprinkle of some sort of grated cheese (not Parmesan), no sun-dried tomatoes, a small sprinkling of seeds and that was it. Totally bland and tasteless (just looked like veg leftovers thrown in a bowl, not even a bit of dressing.) My husband's sandwich also came out not toasted, as requested. We should have taken the food back but we were hungry and just wanted to get something to eat before shopping. I did go in to ask for some salt and pepper, but no-one was at the counter and couldn't get anyone's attention. I could see one girl sitting at the back staring at her phone, another was outside on the table next to us having a break. Another girl appeared at the back to go into the fridge but still didn't notice me, so I called out to her. Could have emptied the till made of with all the cakes, made myself a coffee and I don't think anyone would have noticed!!! I didn't eat all of mine and took my bowl in - when someone was finally out at the counter - and told her how dire the food was and that it didn't have half of what was advertised in it. She Just said sorry!! Could be worrying if you have severe allergies!! The only positive thing I can say is that the ice coffee was good and that I will go to somewhere I know next time. You live and learn!

I bought 2 cookies and a brownie. Not the cheapest but very large and all delicious. I note some commented on the cookies being 'undercooked'. Am sure that's intentional, firm on the outside with the soft and stodgy cookie dough inner, just as I like them 😁

You know when you find a gem on a visit to a city, you want to keep it to yourself but some are too good to do that. This is the White Hart Inn. It is a short walk (3 minutes) from the busier city centre, but worth it. It is on the route from Canterbury East rail station when walking to the city centre and near Dane John park. It has the biggest pub garden in the city we were told but it was too cold for us to use. The garden looked lovely and really well kept. We arrived for lunch and had the warmest welcome, from the staff, owners and the roaring log fire. Seating is well spaced, so you don't feel crammed in as you can in some other venues; we had a lovely seat in the bay window. Good choice of drinks and the friendliest service. Our first lunch (yes we went back) was the home made pies, wonderful and lovely fresh seasonal vegetables with mash potatoes. After a day around the city, as we returned to our hotel just around the corner, we had a night cap and several small plates of food to nibble (we recommend the wonderful topped chips too. Chips were lovely and toppings fantastic). Sunday we called back for Sunday lunch - it is the best. If you like good size portions this is your place, the food was beautifully cooked, cannot fault it. There are other options to the roast available should that not be everyone's cup of tea. It felt so comfortable and we were so welcome that this gem must be shared.

When we first walked in the staff just didn’t acknowledge us there was no table of 6 available so asked if we could move the table of 2 and table of 4 together as they were next to each other and both free. At first we was told no and then after a bit of explaining we was told we’d have to wait 15 minutes so they could clear the table. There was a tray with a few empty drinks on. 15 mins was up so we all went in and sat down the tray with drinks on was still on the table and the table hadn’t even been wiped. After all getting settled the waitress finally moved the tray and explained they was busy. We ordered drinks and food together. The drinks took 20 minutes to come. I had coke in a bottle and a glass with ice in. My ice was already half melted. Over an hour later our food came out. Burgers were dry. The Mac and cheese was the worst thing I had ever seen. It was like really stodgy porridge and did not taste of cheese at all. Any time we asked the waitress something she just made it seem like we was asking her to go above and beyond for us when really we wasn’t being difficult even in the slightest. At the end we go to pay and they add a 10% service fee without even asking. Why would I want to pay 10% of my nearly £150 bill for a poor and quite disgusting service. The only plus’s side to this place was the decorations, the mayonnaise and the fact they allowed dogs in
