Very nice Caffè Nero. Extremely friendly staff and great food

Walking through Canterbury I stopped off at Caffe Nero at Longport, The Staff were Friendly and helpful, I ordered a Latte and a Bacon and brie Pannini which was very nice, the Cafe was quite busy with customers coming in and out with drinks . The Cafe is very Spacious.

Loud awful screeching classical music. Every week even after asking to turn it down. You can't even have a conversation. Need new Sunday staff.

Strong coffee, good service, clean toilet plenty of seating in and out.

Had a lovely time in this Nero recently. Had a great coffee and the store was clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and ready to help.

This place is in need of an immediate refurbishment, very tatty, light bulbs needed changing. But worse of all flies everywhere. One fell into my coffee as soon as it was made.

Flies all over the coffee machine and and counter staff were using the machine with flies right there staff seemed oblivious about 8 flies just everywhere and they didn't care absolutely disgusting

The coffee served is excessively strong, and the cups provided are inadequately sized. This experience ranks as the poorest in terms of coffee quality. Regrettably, I do not intend to revisit. Additionally, I observed the area manager conducting business calls at the front counter, which disrupted the customer ordering process. It would be more appropriate for such conversations to occur in the back office.

I visit here about once a month as it's convenient for picking up my daughter in this area and time to grab a coffee. The coffee is good quality and I've had various snacks which are satisfactory. The issue I notice every time I come in here are that there are many people taking up valuable table spaces that are spending the bare minimum of money but have laptops set up and study materials. One couple had 2 laptops set up, they had bought one black coffee and the girl got up in the middle of their stay, came back a bit later with a mc donalds bag and shared some chips with her companion. Looks like it goes unnoticed by the staff. Most of my visits last about 20-30 minutes, but it seems like I'm the one using my table for the least amount of time.

The baristas are lovely. The place could do with more seats and a menu with more variety; but it does a nice brew.

Long queue to be served. Not very clean and smells. No windows to open so no fresh air, very stuffy. Waited far too long so we left

Great coffee as always, awful music played too loudly, thankfully not Christmas songs. Had to put headphones on to drown it out!

It was very busy but we managed to find a table on the first floor. The coffees were of the usual good quality you expect for the brand. Their only failing is not keeping on top of clearing the tables which lets down many of these types of establishment.

Filthy, Tables are hardly ever Wiped Clean, and if you asked for a Table to be Cleaned, I haven't waited that long for a Bus

I was with my grandchildren in buggy. I followed a man in who let the door slam shut onto buggy. A customer inside came and opened the door for me. She advised me he is the manager which I can quite believe as he went straight out the back. The serving staff were lovely polite and helpful. They set a good welcoming atmosphere. Perhaps the manager could take some training from them.

Shame we had to wait ages to be served as had 2 trainees serving and no sign of any help. Added to that one of them was not serving the queue building up!

When it comes to bakery good often there is no vegan offer at all. The coffee is great and available with plant-based milk but it is an impertinence that you have to pay extra for this environmentally friendly, animal suffering-free alternative, while cow's milk, which is intended for the calves, is included. This is not very forward-looking and favors the unhealthy, suffering-causing cow's milk.

The pastries are very good, and it's not too bad price wise. It's also quite a peaceful environment, when it's not during the daily rush.

As a passionate coffee lover (who lives in Italy), it's hard to find a good coffee shop that comes anywhere near the quality I am used to. That said, the closest I have found to the coffee I drink here is Caffè Nero.

Everytime I visit this cafe the service is so so slow. No sense of urgency at all. Tables completely full of dirty cups and plates and the shop needs a good clean too. The staff are completely oblivious to the constant queue. They may be short staffed but I won't be back as its been the same all year. I went across the road to Greggs and got a decent coffee for half the price and served in a minute with a smile. If you are asked for over three quid for a coffee then at least do it like you care and make it seem like you appreciate the business.

Slow slow slow….waited 25-30 minutes and they hadn’t even take my order. Service slow for everyone waiting. Hardly anyone in the shop…. No idea what the staff were doing…. Just take orders and let people sit instead of queue!

Disgustingly filthy bathroom, we were there nearly half an hour and most of the tables had rubbish on them that wasn’t cleared away before we left. Danish was stale, but the coffee was nice. Won’t be coming back.

I've read reviews that this was not clean. I was there for breakfast and very pleased that it was open early. The place was clean as I had expected, and there was no sign of untidiness. The coffee was excellent, much better than other offerings about at that time of day. My one beef is that the staff were quite slow. I'd been on holiday to Italy where at their peak baristas can serve three times more speedily than seems possible in the UK.

Lack of cleanliness unacceptable. I’m increasing fed up going into coffee shops and experiencing dirty tables. No one ever appears to clear tables and wipe them down anymore. The whole place could go with a thorough clean.

We used to be regulars before the pandemic, when the regular staff were helpful and kept the place clean. Now everything seems to have changed. On our recent visit there was only one staff member in the shop. He appeared to be completely overwhelmed by the long queue. The mug of coffee he made had about two inches of froth on it, so it was only half full, and the coffee tasted disgusting. Almost every table was full of dirty crockery and the two toilets were filthy, with no toilet paper in either of them. On our way out we noticed that there was another, older, member of staff on duty, but he was outside talking to a customer sitting at an outside table. I immediately sent a letter of complaint to Nero's customer service, but they haven't bothered to reply. No problem! there are plenty of better coffee bars in the immediate vicinity.

Coffee was good but the coffee shop entrance was covered in litter and the shop was not very clean. Not a good first impression. However, worse was to come when I visited the toilet. It was very dirty and in need of decorating. There are lots of very nice (and clean) coffee shops in Canterbury. I will not be going back to Cafe Nero in Clocktower Square.

Our group spend over 3000 pounds a year and have been told. That Only 2 persons permitted at each outside table.~ No groups ~ With Effect Of Wednesday 27th July 2022.

regularly visit this coffee shop and enjoy our time but i have to say, every time we go the place gets more and more filthy, in particular the bathroom. Surely cleanliness around food, especially with coronavirus is something we shouldn't have to ask for. Such a shame

Slow, slow, slow. The wait in the line was painful. Half two in the afternoon and only two staff working and neither looked very happy to be there. Coffee was ok, but only ok.

A classic Caffè Nero, good teas and coffee but needs a really deep clean, thick dust on basically every surface including behind the counter. Nice and friendly staff and nice atmosphere.

Absolutely filthy, layers of dust and grime on surfaces that clearly hadn't been cleaned in a very long time.

Real, high quality, Italian style coffee at s reasonable price. Staff are Great. What else is there to say.

Female serving was very unimpressive, not friendly, not helpful and didn't hide the fact she didn't want to be there. Also the coffee was bitter and not pleasant to drink, very poorly made. I'll cross cafe nero off my list now as well as Costa due to their poor coffee standard.

Nice little place for coffee. A regular go-to for me in Canterbury if short on time. They sometimes do a bad coffee BUT they are always quick to replace it with a smile. Much appreciated. Generally speaking, although trainees seem to make the coffee here, it's always a nice coffee. My only beef (same with all Nero's) is that no longer use a panini press for paninis. Now it's an oven thing. Still yummy and great to eat.

Plenty of seating when other places had none.

I'd say about half the times I've been in this Nero they've run out of something I came in for, or a machine's broken; always some reason you'll wait in line for ten minutes due to the slow service only to find you've wasted your time. Customer service is patchy and trainee baristas don't seem to get enough supervision and guidance to improve their customer service skills. Coffee is generally good but sometimes so overheated you can barely hold on to the takeaway cup.

Sometimes very busy, but worth the wait.

Ordered a Too Good To Go bag. Was in store during the collection period -exactly on time - when they cancelled the order. The food was there but for someone else (who wasn’t). The server smiled and said sorry. Great. Don’t use TGTG if you can’t cancel in advance or at least honour your side of the contract.

Excellent COVID measures and always lovely staff, plus good food and a solid cuppa - but I'll be avoiding in future because it is so WARM that the temperature makes it impossible to have a comfortable sit in here. I don't know if it is the kitchen in the place next door or if the aircon just needs fixing (or both!) but this is not a relaxing spot for a sit and drink indoors unless it is actively freezing outside, and it must be horrible for the staff stuck in there too. Which is a real shame because it used to be one of my favourite spots in Canterbury...here's hoping whoever is in charge of the building facilities makes it more liveable (for employees and customers) at some point soon!

Had coffee today. Outside table as air conditioning not working. Lady with dog sat next to us and took four chairs from other tables to seat her friends. Asked for water for her dog and didn’t buy anything. Her family then joined her with their McDonald’s takeaway. No staff member approached them. We ended up with a dirty dog sniffing around and screaming children. Not the most pleasant experience. Won’t be visiting again.,

Popped in for drinks whilst on outreach in Canterbury. We could have gone to pound land but one of our lot had to have coffee - not just coffee but a vanilla latte. Apparently it was pretty nice. As for me, I had a pricey bottle of lukewarm coke as the big fridge was off and the sandwiches were in a covid secure receptacle. Anyway - IF I was in the mood for a coffee, I'm sure I'd have loved it. 5 stars for a safely managed café in the middle of a pandemic with plenty of room both inside and out to sit

First time in Cafe Nero as I had a voucher so treated myself to tea and a Belgian muffin. It was gorgeous and very relaxed in there. Would go again and quiet environment too

Out shopping and in need of a coffee fell into this place. As usual sensible prices for tasty and well made drinks. We had two Cordados and a hot chocolate,covered in marshmallows. Service was quick,comfy seating,and we will be back again.

We are in here almost everyday. The staff take the trouble to remember the customers names and chat to them. It is in an historic building, so the floor is uneven, but that is part of the charm. Upstairs there are a few shelves of books, including childrens books, that can be taken to read, while one has coffee. Downstairs there is a rack of newspapers, that can be read, or you can buy your own copy there. The loyalty card is on a phone app, as well. It's easy to collect points to get a free coffee. The food selection, includes sandwiches, panini, cakes and cookies.

J'adore cet endroit, intérieur très agréable, tous les types de café sont très bons et même les patisseries. On s'y sent bien, et rien de mieux pour faire une pause

Caffe Nero in Canterbury offers some of the best coffee options.in town. Usual selection of drinks, snacks and pastries. Service is great, this branch is spacious and I've always found somewhere comfortable to sit.

Seen one you've seen them all. There is always 5 people behind the counter, only 1 is ever serving, and the tables are always filthy, am I wrong.?

It's fine for your coffee but they should check the state of the toilet more often and keep it cleaner.

Clearing of used cups and plates was slow. It could have been a bit cleaner.

This version of Neros can sometimes be a little untidy and the staff a little sleepy an unwillingness for both staff to serve when both of them are behind the counter which lets the store down and the name

Always a pleasure to visit Caffe Nero, lovely hot chocolate and hot Americano and yummy cakes !!

It always has a good atmosphere but a bit pricey.
