Burger choice is immense. They are very juicy and tasty. Charley is amazing and very attentive.

Delicious speciality burgers by new owner! Just had the most amazing burgers. I’m not a fan of burgers but this burger beats the rest. New owner has broken the burger market with his food. I had the Buck Cluck chicken with cheese fries. Southern fried chicken fillet mayo lettuce onion tomato and pickles! The cheese chips were better than anything I had before. It was a mix of a cheese sauce and fresh cheese complete taste sensation. Washed down with a nice glass of rose. Hubby had cow n chicken quarter pound cow pattie with the southern fried chicken breast and garnished! This is just the introductory menu whilst he settles into the pub! The burgers come with fresh sough dough buns! Yum

We popped in for Sunday lunch,the beef brisket was delicious,the veg was cooked perfectly,waiting time 20-25 minutes,it was worth the wait! I will most definitely be eating there again,dogs welcome

Been here twice, for very nice staff, good service, both times food food was nice and hot, tables are spaced out so you are not on top of one another

The menu is very well thought out. A great range of starters which are great as tapas or just a snack. The owner/chef sources high quality meats. Priced fairly and portion sizes àre generous.Live music on a regular basis which is fun Lovely friendly staff. Overall this pub is winner. It ticks all the boxes.

Fantastic food and great service as always. Our group wanted a walk and a pub lunch on a Bank Holiday and everyone agreed this was the food we wanted and pub we would walk to. We do have a closer to home pub we could have gone to! Well worth the walk. We would definitely recommend a visit. Sunday lunch is also a winner!

Had a couple of decent meals here in the last few weeks. Both the young ladies who served us were great. Can't complain and a total transformation from the last 2 attempts to run it. If you were disappointed by the terrible service and food from the past, fear not and give it a go. It's a different place now. Cheers 👍

Food here is fantastic. Been twice for Sunday lunch and the flavours are rich and full, not the average bland meat served in bulk at other locations. Very friendly service. Portion size just right. All round if you want good fresh food, not just brakes or cash and carry then this is definitely worth visiting.

Thursdays steak night at the riser!!. it’s a date for us…2 steak dinners with all the trimmings.. bottle of house wine all in £45 !! We popped in yesterday as we were too early in Beltinge. This is a really warm and friendly bar to chill out with a coffee.

Steak night for 2 with a bottle of wine for £45…WOW!!! The food was absolutely amazing, the steak melted in your mouth and the chips were crispy and delicious, really tasty dressing on the salad too! My husband normally refuses to eat steak when we’re out as he is really fussy with it, but he devoured this huge steak with a smile on his face! The atmosphere was really cosy and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and professional. We can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Came here for lunch today and were welcomed by friendly staff. The atmosphere and food was lovely. I really enjoyed the minted lamb hotpot which was reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend a visit here xx

The food is gorgeous but when they stop doing deliveries it’s a nightmare as nobody does food like them. I really was in the mood for Sunday Roast. I suffer with a problem in my foot which means I cannot walk to the pub so was relying on just eat or deliveroo only to be told they are not using them today. Please sort this out

Thank you to the team at the Rising Sun for serving an absolutely stunning dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday. The food was sublime and the service was impeccable. It might look like an ordinary pub from the outside, but don't let that fool you. If you haven’t tried the food, then what's stopping you? Highly recommended.

Two of us ordered a dish described on the menu as Paella. What we received was a superb rice dish laden with shellfish. It tasted great but did not resemble the paellas one normally experience in Spain. I hope the restaurant is successful because it is really convenient to have good quality dining in the village.

Not a lot of atmosphere, a big room with bright light and white walls. No local beer, but the London Pride and Ghost Ship were well kept. Service was friendly and efficient. Didn't eat there so can't comment on food.

Feel like when ever I write a review for this place I can never fault it..Thursday night Steak night .. most amazing T-bone your ever likely to get especially for the money.. done to perfection with lovely chunky chips peas large chargrilled tomato and they even put finely chopped salad on as well.. we are lucky to have this place as our local !! Had lunch at the Rising Sun in Beltinge yesterday, such a lovely experience. We had a nice, friendly, professional waitress who certainly knew her stuff, as she was able to anwer all our questions regarding the food and made recommendations. The service was outstanding and the food 5 star quality. Some of had the Breaded Camembert, cooked to perfection. Some had the salmon main course with mussels and said so nice, my mother in law had the lamb and it was amazing. I had another starter prawn and crayfish cocktail and so many prawns felt like a main course. I never have desert but the waitress recommended the dark chocolate delice with raspberry sorbet - it was so light and delightful. Others has the lemon tart and again said it was the best they had eaten. Overall such an outstanding lunch, in a great atmosphere, with attentative staff and even the manager came over to check we were happy with everything - we were more than happy and I cannot wait to go back, thank you.

As soon as you step foot into the newly refurbed pub it’s amazing, the bar staff are warm welcoming, the locals are also welcoming, as your carry on round to the restaurant area passing by a lovely log burner. Met by welcoming table staff. Help you find a suitable table for our needs (2Adults&3Kids including pushchair). The drinks was well presented as soon as order. Lovely reading thought the vast variety of food on offer. The food is a different story, absolutely out of this would, you could tell straight away all home cooked with love. Tasted amazing pulled pork my favourite. But the other smoked meats the rest of the family had was incredible too. Then desert after just WOW, delicious mouth watering. For a family of 4 eating anyways the price was perfect, if any cheaper the food wouldn’t be worth eating. I hope them all the best and we will be returning again.

The staff were pleasant but the interior was tired especially the back dining area, I was sat facing some tired net curtains and a couple of child seats . Our chairs were very old and tatty. The biggest disappointment for us was the food, it was well below average and not worth the money . We were hoping after reading the reviews to have a good dining experience at a pub local to us , so this review give us no pleasure . Maybe it was an off night but we will not be returning any time soon.

Really wonderful food ! Amazing Oysters!! Wonderful steak and ale pie and lots of other choice. Staff always kind and helpful with my dad with dementia in wheelchair. Sad didn’t realise this was on our doorstep before- think new ownership made it loads better

Our second visit for lunch since the reopening. The food really is very good indeed, some of it quite different to the usual pub dishes. Prices reasonable too. Only snag today was that they were a bit short of beer!

From the outside this pub looks like you should give it a miss - don't. The food was more than excellent and it was genuinely the best pint of Ghost Ship I've ever had. The staff were lovely, and helpful. The interior is slightly sparse, but that somehow adds to the charm. We will definitely go back next time we're in Beltinge.

Came in on a quiet evening after they'd stopped serving food. Stopped in for a pint and they were nice enough to heat up some stew for us. Very friendly owners and nice atmosphere. (Not sure about the country theme but it's executed as well as it can be.) Restored my father's faith in pubs. Would definitely come again next time I'm in Herne village.

New landlords are 100% what the British pub industry is lacking so badly - a real credit. I felt like I was a guest and they were my hosts. Six stars out of five.
