I'm a regular visitor to Toast at Linghams for coffee, cake and the occasional light lunch. It is always reliable and the staff friendly, welcoming and efficient. On warmer days the outside deck area is very pleasant to sit and watch Heswall life pass by.

Wrong sandwich and food was cold

The black pudding starter was on a crumpet that wasn’t toasted. I don’t mean lightly, I mean cold and straight out of the packet, floppy, soft and totally untoasted. This was a shame because the atmosphere was great. My Mrs had the calamari which was outstanding. My fish was devoid of any flavour.

So disappointed in this cafe. We had roast beef sandwiches could not even chew the beef couldnt swallow at all. Wouldn't go back

I wish they had better and more seating indoors. Their coffee bags take a lot of space where there should be tables and chairs

Fab roast dinner wasn't expecting a cake too bonus

Looked for a gastro-pub to take my mum for Aussie Mother’s Day. Found this gem in Heswall. Sunday lunch, not too crowded. The food was well presented and very delicious. A Sunday must try is the roast trio. We were offered sides but they serve sizes were generous and glad we declined. Otherwise we would not have been able to sample the desserts selection.

Well what a disaster went for quiz night and decided to eat so met early so we had finished eating when quiz started that was our first mistake one friend ordered first and was told half hour wait we went after her and was told had to wait fair enough it was a bit busy so first friends meal arrived chicken selection which to me looked burnt I wouldn’t have had it then 1 hour 30 minutes the rest arrived to say it was a disaster is an under statement one sent hers back cause it was cold and they put it in the microwave which she refused to have an got her money back I had fish an chips ok we all like crispy batter but not so you could have bounced it off the floor fish inside was dry an tasteless chips where cold an mushy please tasted like they had put sugar in them surface to say I didn’t eat it not once where we asked if everything ok because they would have been told so guess I won’t eat there ever again it used to be such a great place to eat out a shame am writing this

Just passing by and called in for a drink & snack. Ended up with a lovely cream cheese & smoked salmon bagel and ham & cheese toasty on seeded brown bread with mixed salad and coleslaw. The large Merlot complemented it very well! 🤣 Staff are lovely and so very accommodating. A great place with a lovely ambience. We’ll definitely come back 😊

Visited for an iced coffee no taste at all and for £3:70 a joke. Worse was the gents toilet upstairs is minging and has not toilet roll staff to busy chatting to care ?

Don't know whats happened to this place - menu is terrible now with barely any choice! I don't know if it's under new managment or what, but it's embarrassingly poor. It was staffed by 3 very young lads when we went, and they didn't seem to have a clue what they were doing. My friend ordered just 4 things, and still they managed to get one of them wrong. It's such a lovely setting for a cafe, but it's just terribly run with the most uninspiring menu I think I've ever seen, especially if you're veggie.

Went on Sunday 15th December - Was very busy but only one lady working. She was fantastic though - it must have been very stressful for her but she was working so hard! She was running the till, making the drinks and sorting the food out. I couldn’t do that all by myself. Hats off to her! She deserves a pay rise!!!
