Don't know whats happened to this place - menu is terrible now with barely any choice! I don't know if it's under new managment or what, but it's embarrassingly poor. It was staffed by 3 very young lads when we went, and they didn't seem to have a clue what they were doing. My friend ordered just 4 things, and still they managed to get one of them wrong. It's such a lovely setting for a cafe, but it's just terribly run with the most uninspiring menu I think I've ever seen, especially if you're veggie.

The rain didn't stop us when we visited for breakfast, just made the lovely breakfast even more needed! The parking was easy enough, it wasn't busy in the cafe and we got seated by the window on a pre-booked table for 2. Richie the owner came to speak to us to explain the changes in venues from Seaview originally to 2019 when he moved to Vale park, and also the changes in menu as they had to condense, as the location and weather can make the cafe busy serving up to 500 customers on a busy summer day. We took a few pics while we waited but we were served promptly: flat white for me and oat flat white and orange juice. We both went for a full English breakfast, I asked for no beans or black pudding, which were substituted for mushrooms and extra toast. The toasts came already abundantly buttered and the breakfasts were succulent: the herby and garlic tomatoes and mushrooms were delicious, the 10 inch sausage was juicy and the addition of the Ulster fry was a nice surprise to go with the bacon. Hash brown was crispy and the fried egg just how it should be. Beans were served in a separate dish and everything on the plate married well together. A very enjoyable experience and we most certainly will be back with our little one in the near future. A big thank you to Richie and everybody at The Coffee Roast for making us feel very welcome. I had breakfast at 9.30 this morning and it's kept me going all day 😃

We came here because our favourite cafe in New Brighton was closed. The cafe is blessed by very pleasant green surroundings, being set of course in Vale Park. The cake we chose,Jaffa Orange, was very good and tasty. But disappointed that not only did the cafe not supply tea in a pot as I expect in these places, but that it was served in one of those paper/cardboard beakers such as those that you get in the likes of Nero or Costa;and not particularly strong, either.Plus the cake also was served on a cardboard carton. The reason given was that it is because the tables are outside:I get that there may be an issue with breakages of crockery, but for me,part of the pleasure of eating and drinking in a nice independent cafe is the china or crockery cups and plates. And it was all more expensive than my favourite cafe.On the positive side, service was quick.

I was walking along the promenade, saw the sign, looked interesting. Checked on the website, yeh ,good ,but not so good reviews. Anyway , decided to try myself, went along with wife. Inside, tea room was closed, website says closes 7pm! Coffee was mediocre, like you get at petrol stations but at least 75% more expensive. Cakes were mediocre too. We sat outside, location good. Staff friendly, cleanliness average. We didn’t try ice cream , so ,no comments Just an ordinary cafe in the park , nothing, more. Nothing awe full either.

Bought an Oat Milk Latte today and was charged £3.95 - I asked the attendant to repeat and he confirmed that a take away coffee costs £3.95. I work regularly in central london and this is much more expensive - such a p@*# take….. they’re pretty much the only place to get coffee from in that vicinity - so with a captive market it actually pays to be reasonable… monmouth coffee covent garden - £3.10 Grind coffee shoreditch £3.20 Selfridges Drink In £3.75 Whilst you may argue these stores have bigger footfalls, they also pay significantly higher rents and business taxes….. An absolute Liberty.

If a cook isn’t able to produce scrambled egg, god help us. If an establishment can’t accept constructive criticism, god help them. The clue is in the name, scrambled…not cooked then chopped up. I mentioned my disappointment about the meal to a young man who claimed to be the manager, but he was totally dismissive of my advice.

Been supporting Vale park Cafe for years always happy with the service and the cakes were fantastic and good value for money. Latley though the prices have risen and the portion sizes have decreased massively. The cakes in the display cabinet advertised is not what you receive we ordered a Tiffin that was a tiny triangle and the Vegan flapjack fell apart into pieces even the squirrels struggled to eat it. After visiting this cafe for the last few years & being very happy with the quality & price of the food, we came away from the cafe today feeling extremely disappointed. Considering it is the school holidays, they didn’t seem to have many staff in. They had one, obviously inexperienced, member of staff on the till taking orders. I was about 8 people back in the queue & had to wait approximately 20 minutes to get served. Where the ordering point/till was situated meant that the queue of people were all bunched up one end, blocking the door to the toilet. Once at the front of the queue, bearing in mind it was only about 12:15, they had run out of virtually half of what was advertised on the menu. The 4 children with us all wanted pancakes but were told we couldn’t have them as they were on the breakfast menu which finished at 12:00...we’d actually joined the queue before 12:00!! The quality of the food was very poor once we eventually got it. The jacket potatoes were hard & undercooked. The children’s sandwiches were small & very poor for the price, actually more expensive than the adult sandwiches! Overall, we felt that the food was very overpriced, not great quality, the service was poor & the whole place felt very disorganised. I don’t think we’ll be going back there for a while

Having vegan options is refreshing. The cafe is reasonably priced and is a massive improvement now due to new ownership. However, I was disappointed to hear one of the waitresses speaking to a customer today so rudely. He simply asked for item on his order which had been forgotten and was told he didn’t ask for it so it was his fault. She could have been so much more kinder and professional. I just don't want the cafe to go down hill because it’s so much better than hoe it was and I love my New Brighton.

Unfortunately there wasn't a single clean table (filthy) and after looking at the very unappetising cakes that were on offer in the fridge, definitely not freshly baked as advertised, shop bought Swiss roll, wrapped cakes and chocolate bars... decided to give it a wide berth. Unorganised and understaffed for such a busy summer day. Outside is dirty with rubbish and fag ends on the floor . Tables with dishes etc and not wiped down . Inside is dirty , counter and sticky tables . Ordered food, bacon and cheese burger and 2 portion of chips to take out . Burger was wafer thin , bacon barely cooked and plastic cheese slice ( expected but not melted ) . Chips were fine and hot but tiny portion for price . I had to wait standing in the corner of cramped cafe by fridge for 25 minutes . Shame as I don’t mind basic & no frills but expect clean and cooked nicely. This could be so much more of an asset to the park .

Took my daughter's to see the fairies in the beautiful park and popped into the cafe while we were there. For a community centre I thought the prices were a bit high, but I paid anyway. The whole experience was very disappointing. The club sandwich wasn't toasted and the warm bacon and chicken mixed with grated cheese just made it a soggy sandwich. There was no coleslaw, as stated in the menu and the side salad consisted of half a tomato, a piece of cucumber and some chopped lettuce. I wasn't expecting 5* but I was expecting something more. The sandwich was so greasy I couldn't even finish it. Just to top that off when I took my daughter to the toilet it was dirt and had no soap to clean our hands. I ordered coffee with lunch but as it never actually came I had to go and get it myself and even then the lady left it on the side and walked away! I had to get another member of staff to pass it over!

We had been told that the Café in Vale Park was a good place to eat ands this was confirmed when we arrived by the Trip Advisor stickers on the window. This was lunchtime and the only thing that was offered was either and All Day Breakfast and various sandwiches etc. We both decided on one of the All Day Breakfasts. This came with undercooked bacon and tinned tomatoes. The other items were acceptable. The tea and coffee that was included was served in cups. When I asked for saucers, I was told that they didn't have any, but offered my side plates, which I declined. There was no salt and pepper on the table and my wife went to ask was handed the pepper and the staff had to find the salt, which they did. The décor was extremely tired as was the furniture, The place really reminded me of a roadside Transport Café, as they were 50+ years ago. Despite being fairly cheap, we certainly won't darken their doors again and would suggest that the Trip Advisor signs be removed.

Visited here this morning with my auntie, baby and cousin. I wanted to go because I have read good reviews and they do a slimmers menu which attracted me. So we go this morning, the place was empty apart from one other diner. 3 women working here. No customer service skills between them, no greeting as we entered, no smile no nothing! Went up and ordered our food, the girl on the till was ok at this point... I changed one item on the slimmers breakfast(beans to mushrooms). The young girl who brought our food(Kerris I think she was called) should not be working in the customer service industry!!! Brought our food and just plonked it down on the table, no smile nothing. My breakfast was supposed to come with scrambled egg but came with fried egg, I pointed this out and was told that it comes with fried egg, showed the girl the menu and she did offer to change it but I couldn't be bothered(their attitude had sort of rubbed off on me by this point) my auntys sandwich came without coleslaw as the menu said, was told we don't have any coleslaw(Prob should have been told this at the time of ordering!!) no one came over to ask if our food was ok. In fact no one chatted to us at all. For an empty cafe this is awful!y breakfast tasted better than it looked apart from the sausages which were black, rock hard and inedible!!! Safe to say none of us would ever visit here again and wouldn't recommend to anyone either! Really could be quite popular with the slimmers menu but customer service matters to me!! I could of understood if they were rushed off their feet but if customers are an inconvenience (which is how we felt) then they really shouldn't be in this industry!

Return visit after 2 years. Plenty of tables well spaced and numerous water containers on an extended flat space in front of cafe, very suitable for our dog. The gardens well stocked with flowers and stunning views of the river through the trees. We had a' hot' chocolate and cappuccino which were tasty but only warm. The tea cakes were fine. Will visit again soon as the wide walk beside the Mersey and the Liverpool skyline really stunning

Whilst having a lovely walk in the beautiful Vale park we decided to stop by and have a coffee in this really lovely little cafe. I noticed a choice of lovely cakes on offer too, plus a variety of cold drinks which my children had. The staff were lovely, and we received super quick service. I will definitely call back again when I am next passing Thank you.

Great mug of coffee taken on the terrace at only £1.30. Friendly, fast and recommended. This is what it is ...... a Cafe in a public park that is very good and has loads of seating inside and out. What's not to like .......

Popped into vale park cafe yesterday, it was lovely, a little gem hidden away, only tried the coffee and walnut cake it was delicious, my friend had the Victoria sponge which was just as nice, will definitely try other items on the menu the next time we visit.

Went here with my friend for afternoon tea, we've never been before. It was lovely as soon as we arrived they had our table waiting for us, we had a pot of tea which served 2 cups of tea each, 2 scones,2 cupcakes, a chocolate eclair, a slice of lemon tart and about 8 finger sandwiches with salad dressing. We were so full after the tea an the scone, the girls let us have plastic boxes to bring the rest of our cakes home it was so filling. I'd recommend you take 3 people instead of 2 for tea for 2 as it was more than enough, well worth the money I think it was £15 for 2 people. I'm definitely coming again it was easy access easy to find an a pleasant afternoon.

I don't often leave reviews, and usually only do it to praise nice places but this cafe is truly awful. Hard cakes, old looking crispies and tea served in dirty mugs. Service was ok, but what's on offer is very poor quality. I came here based on a trip advisor reviews, but don't waste your money or time! Only good thing is the location.

Family of four adults, including elderly relative, called in for a light lunch on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Staff, without exception, were friendly, welcoming and helpful and all seemed to be working hard at clearing and cleaning tables and serving customers. There were lots of customers coming and going, some for meals and some for just an ice cream ( the bright blue bubble gum ice cream seemed particularly popular with the little ones) and it was pleasant to see the staff engaging well with all customers. I note this cafe is dementia friendly - something that is important to us as a family. We had sandwiches, chips and cake and it was all good, very reasonably priced too. Happily recommend Vale House, we'll certainly be back.

Beautiful room and staff who went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. Great location.More than enough food with delicious cakes. Perhaps slightly fewer cakes and more finger sandwiches would have been better. But overall. Fantastic !Thank you for making barb's 70th afternoon tea birthday party a wonderful experience.

En enkel og fin park med en liten koselig kafé. Utvalget er greit nok og maten det samme. Men fungerer til en liten rast i bakken.

Lovely community based cafe in the park, serving array of home baked delights and refreshments. We sat outside in the autumn sunshine after a wonderful visit to see the fairies and enjoyed the family atmosphere this establishment offers. There is a children s section full of fun and i noticed a newly decorated bandstand, which I can only suggest adds greatly to the experience when in operation.

We found this little gem as we walked along the street. It was spotlessly clean, spacious, and had very nice staff. we both had a light lunch which was very good and the coffee excellent - piping hot and just as we like it. It is also dog friendly and had a corner with plenty of things to amuse the children. We really enjoyed our visit,

Used to go here a lot and the last two time we have been they now fill the salad boxes half full when you are paying just under £4. I also pay extra for pasta and you get around 6 pieces. Won’t be going back anymore as it’s not worth the money, when there are other places so close by.

What can I say except sublime! The cakes where fantastic. There was plenty, but not too much, chocolate and the choice inspired (the six of us all had a different favourite). It’s not just the food though, the building is gorgeous and the dining room is a very special place to have an afternoon tea.

Currently on a miserable no caffeine and limited sugar diet for medical reasons, treated myself to an iced decaf cappuccino and found 20 mins later when I sat down to drink it that it was topped with a ridiculously thick layer of sweet cream. What a waste of money and time waiting
