Had a lovely lunch staff pleasent and attentive, would recommend coming here any time food was fresh and piping hot. Nothing was to much trouble highly recommended x

Ate at another Greene King pub the night before and it was night and day experience. The quality of the food was average at best and the atmosphere wasn’t as pleasant. Children have to leave the restaurant by 8pm

Went to the clipper June 6 for a spontaneous treat with daughter in law. Asked girl on bar how to put car reg into machine, I even did it twice and checked with her that it had gone thru, had a lovely meal , really enjoyed the meal as it was hot , plentiful and tasty , but what I didn’t enjoy was a week later receiving a parking fine for £100 stating that my car was illegally parked at the clipper ( despite me actually eating there and putting my reg In the machine). I rang the clipper but no one got back to me. I have appealed the fine and sent proof. Also a blue badge holder so not impressed as I need my car to get about, so it’s made the clipper lose a patron as I won’t be returning due to the anxiety it caused getting this fine thru the post !

Great all round pub, definitely improved! Staff are great aswell and Guinness is spot on, food looks great aswell and very spacious

I'm a regular in the clipper I go at least once a week if not more booked a table for kids Halloween party for at least 9 if not more as inviting people from school. got the pub to be told we never booked that table and was put in a booth for 4 people . I asked if we could swap as people in table we had booked had same amount of people in their partu as us...then we got told it was for staff!! The mum of the manager spoke to me like I was a piece of dirt (friends words not mine).we were getting slagged of by the manager and her mum . manager asked to speak to me outside who said dont to be slagging my mum off which I wasn't we were told when we finish our drink we were not allowed in pub again . We were then approached by managers mum who asked to speak to me outside again...I refused to go as I said I was at a private family occasion.. Intimidating behaviour by both manager and her mum... By posting on school group I brought in 17 people to that pub tonight only some parents ordered food for kids no adults did who were going to and got a refund as good took so long to come out

We come in all the time for a drink and occasionally for food and the staff are amazing. The pub is also dog friendly which is great because we often pop in when we take our dog for a walk and the staff are always very welcoming. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is great. We’ll continue coming in. Keep up the good work.

Attended here for the quiz night on Wednesday, great atmosphere and lots of laughs. I also enjoyed some food. Evella gave great service, always with a smile. Will be back again.

Went to this pub as my son was at the stadium next door. Thought be easy to wait in there, have a few drinks and bite to eat. Went to the bar at 7pm to order food, only to be told they had stopped serving food. Thought this was early for a Sunday. Carried on with our drinks and 20 minutes later they are bringing food out for other tables. Surely at 7pm adding 2 more burgers to the grill as there were obviously still cooking wouldn’t have made a massive difference to them. Would not recommend this pub and wouldn’t come again if in the area. Never had issues before with Greene King and hope this was an exception.

I’m here quite regularly and always feel welcomed on each visit. The staff go above & beyond in their duties and always with a smile. Just in Mersey Clipper for some food. New menu since last in, lots of things I want to try but settled on hunter's gammon skillet and my wife had spicy sausage flatbread, plus some sides. Both cooked really well, very tasty and both enjoyed the jelly and custard cheesecake afterwards. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Not too busy, really nice atmosphere. Pub very welcoming and clean.

I went with my mum and neice, the Food and service was good. But another table had kids running round and playing Football and some one though a menu which hit my mum who is in her 70's. Ehic one of the adults did apologise. Plus another couple where having a slanging match.

Arrived after pre-booking food for football team management denied me calling because my kids had ADHD. Don’t get my started on the doorstaff telling my kids 3 times to run stop running around you don’t tell my kids to do anything! I was then told to oh behave yourself and get f*coed Karen! I’m shocked and concerned at how he knew my name.

Very crowded, ordered hunters chicken skillet as had this last week and thoroughly enjoyed it but today it came on a plate instead of skillet and no onions. It was very dry and chips only warm, if the staff had told me when I ordered the meal that there were no skillets, I would have ordered something else. My husband's fish was gooey inside, the batter had not been fried properly. Because it was so crowded we ate it as we were very hungry. Will give it a miss next time very disappointed.

We went to the clipper for a meal yesterday to take our mum out. Mum has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. We received a very warm welcome when we arrived. First meal out since lock down, quite a disappointment. Ordered a drink first and my glass was dirty so I did get it exchanged,,, not what u want to see during pandemic. Luckily my drink was in a bottle and I had a straw anyway. Waited 40 minutes for our meal-we both ordered 8oz rump steak. When it arrived it appeared a very small meal. The steak was pretty cold along with the chips and mushy peas. The peas were tinned processed and just mashed a little-awful. The staff were busy in and out with drinks and meals. I left the peas and some chips and steak. When we managed to get our bill we noticed that the steaks were wrong. Pointed this out to a staff member and she did apologise and said we were given the wrong ones. I would not recommend this venue or return. We were not the only people with issues over our meals. Signage showing the one way around the pub appeared clear however some people were entering the place through the exit door. Tables appeared to be clean and distanced.

First time I've used the click and collect service from my local pub. Eaten and drank there many times, so know the food is going to be good. I booked the collection for 8.15pm and arrived there 5 minutes early in the hope of "having" to get a pint while I waited. As I walked to the bar (after sanitizing!) Layla said my food was ready to go, bit of a disappointment so I ordered a drink anyway. Liked the way the pub is set out and the table service system they have for drinks as well as food is a good idea in these times of social distancing. Like the app you can order and pay from your table with, looking forward to heading down in the near future.

Came to the Mersey Clipper today, every member of staff was so friendly from the moment we arrived to when we was leaving. It was spotless and there was always somebody cleaning, we had table service and the lady was very attentive and polite. We didn’t wait long for our meals I ordered the All American chicken burger and it was cooked to perfection. I will definitely be coming back.

Wow is all’s I can say what wonderful staff especially Kayleigh who every week goes out of her way to make sure me and my wife have a wonderful Tuesday evening! Not to mention the effort she goes to to make sure my disabled wife can keep up with her bingo calling. If anyone wants a Tuesday evening treat head down to the Mersey clipper Kayleigh will delight you! Oh and food is always outstanding!

As a long term customer, who has previously left reviews, I was alerted via email to the latest, mainly the negative one re; Kayleigh (bingo caller) I find these claims very hard to believe and honestly absurd....maybe the issue is people going beyond their limits on a Tuesday night bingo, kicking off and threatening women because they missed their numbers.......

Yesterday we went as a family of eleven to the pub for food.The prices were fab, all meals came out quickly and tasted great.We had a range from steak, to pies, and hunters chicken and currys.Every meal was gorgeous.The children loved theirs too.Staff very welcoming too.

We dont go as often as we used to OR as often as we'd like , So whenever we get the chance its a real treat ,Bogof Burger Thursday is brilliant & there burgers are delicous , To be fair i've got to say i've never had a bad meal there.. Steaks are always perfect & the hunters chicken is fab , Staff are always pleasant ,friendly & helpful .. its always clean ,comfy with a nice atmosphere.
