Waited almost an hour for 2 orders.. with only 4 tables occupied. Food was passable at the best. Last time coming here.

First time visiting Oak and will definitely not be returning. Waited almost an hour for a small breakfast and a cibatta with avocado. Very disappointed with food and service

Ordered steak and triple cooked chips, steak so tough even steak knife wouldn't cut it, triple cooked chips were nothing like they should be. They looked like a jacket potato cut into slices, just hot potato not crispy like chips. Had to ask for steak knife as normal knife was given when steak arrived. Staff really not helpful when explained why over half of my meal was sent back, just said we will let kitchen know. Would never go back again after both my husbands meal and mine were just absolutely awful, definitely wouldn't recommend any family and friends to go there now, so disappointed as meal was for husband's birthday, still charged full ridiculous price even after meal was sent back.

Delicious wine!! Owner gave full explanation of wines sold,lovely chat and very informative.

Wow just had a roast delivered, it was massive, it was so tasty!! The gravy was amazing. I couldn't eat it all and I have a huge appetite! My dogs polished the rest off!! Can't fault it and quick delivery

A group of friends decided to treat ourselves to a Festive Afternoon Tea at Oak. What a great decision! The food was delightful, with plenty of tasty treats and the staff were friendly and attentive. This really helped to get us all into the Christmas spirit and I shall be adding this experience to my Christmas list for next year. Well done Oak!

slight hiccup with my order on my part and there's, I phoned an there customer service was exceptional, sent out the missing item and let me pay for the extra item I had missed off my order, the food was excellent also , would recommend wholeheartedly, thank you.

Tried this place few times now - food is amazing every time - the fish is beautiful but the sweet chilli belly pork bites still the favourite & piping hot - well worth an order if you’ve not tried before

Visited this establishment yesterday with some friends and what a disappointment and rip off of an experience. Order arrived incorrect but we accepted that so to not cause any problems, food arrived incorrectly; an order of toast was nearly £3.50 for ONE slice of thin cheap bread, bacon white sandwiches arrived as brown bread toast with the smallest bit of bacon on at £5.95 each. The coffee was decent but the the tea arrived in a teapot with a damaged lid and had to go and find someone to ask for a spoon. Very disappointed as last time we had been here (although a long while ago) it was lovely!

Visited on Wednesday 9th October with 6 other family members for the Tapas and wine offer. £50 per couple. We were offered either red, white or rose wine by the bottle. Some chose red others white. Both wines were really nice, unlike some places where you get "house" wines. The Tapas was out of this world. Definitely the best Tapas I have ever had. Each couple could choose 5 dishes from the large menu and were provided with additional patatas bravas and warm ciabatta bread with dipping oil and balsamic. The food was plentiful. I can highly recommend the pork belly, black pudding balls, sticky bbq chicken and bbq ribs. Food was nicely presented too. Our server Alan (I think) was so attentive and chatty, a real asset to Oak. Overall my experience was second to none. Will definitely visit for Tapas again.

Unfortunately not for us.. we ordered 6 chicken roast dinners. The chicken was a small drum like portion, lots of veg but it was very shrivelled and dry. Roast potatoes looked anaemic, and Gravy was so watery we had to made our own.

Me and my other half stopped in for breakfast and really enjoyed being there. Lovely atmosphere for all ages, and the food was fantastic. I had the American Pancakes with bacon which were so fluffy and delicious and my OH had the Eggs Benedict which were great too. Thoroughly recommend and hope to go again next time we are up that way.

Marvellous. We had the most delicious sausage sandwich, yum, and latte. Set you up for the day. Only set back is it's that many people there is so noisy lol

portions extremely small even for tapas

It was ok I’ve had better from here so taking it they was busy. Also didn’t send me any gravy only the one I ordered as an extra. So £40 odd quid for 2 dinners an no gravy bit over priced for what ya get

Complained a while past re overcharged for extra coffee shot being £2.10 per shot. Owner replied saying new staff and was error. However just in today and low and behold £2.10 for extra shot on menu board. How can this be. Posting picture for all to see on line. What's awfull owner states staff to blame.

£2.90 for a single espresso and an extra £1 for a drop of hot water to take away! I think you win the prize for most expensive coffee on Merseyside. I didn’t say it was a rip off and I did bring in my own cup! So it was £3.90 for a single espresso with a drop of hot water.

Totally disappointed as called for small latte in takeaway cup and was charged £3.50 Plus £2.10 for 1 extra shot? So coffee cost me £5.60 This is being reported to trading standards as it's boarding on extortion.

Simple breakfast menu with everything you need on it. Its table service but that's not entirely clear. After waiting at table for a while I went to the bar to order and was told someone would come to us. If that's the case when you arrive and sit down someone should come and say hello and let you they'll be back to take your order. Food was good and priced appropriately. Been before and will again.

I ordered a roast meat sandwich - it was dry, stale, chewy meat and no gravy was included. definitely not worth the price.

Ordered the burger with blue cheese and it was terrible I ordered this same burger last week and it was completely different. Also ordered the paramentier potatoes and got no cheese on them. Sadly won't be able order from here again

Just want to say I went into Oak for the first time ever, I was blown away by the food it was amazing, it’s a lovely little Hidden gem tucked away in Greasby. The tapas deal was plentiful and very tasty, service was efficient very professional and friendly. Would definitely visit again and recommend To family and friends.

I came few months back and enjoyed a tribute night omg was best night ever , came with my partner and had food and few drinks. Was a great atmosphere ( girl was doing Celine dion tracks plus many others was great night out so chilled , everyone was dancing and singing along which was fab. I have always enjoyed food at oak and the coffee has great flavour.

When you order a toastie you expect nice toasted bread. How you can get a couple of light brown stripes on one side and totally soggy bread the other side is beyond me. And it was cold. Also no healthy soft drinks.

Food was lovely but the delivery was late

As a local to Greasby, I like to support and use local businesses. It would be a much nicer experience if we didn’t have to walk past the constantly blocked drain and mess at the side and rear of the place. Saying this, the restaurant is ok inside. Food is usually good enough and service could be quicker. Would love to know why it’s called “Oak” when the interior is pine though??

Went here today for the first time and I was absolutely digusted with the service and food it took 25 mins for someone to take our order and then another 45 mins for our food to arrive we had a child with us and she was given a knife and fork which was for a baby her food came first in the smallest bowl ever the 3 adults had what was supposed to be a ham toasted sandwich which the bread wasn't even toasted the cheese was melted on top not even done properly the garlic bread was cold the hot chocolate drinks were like warm we had a side order of garlic mushrooms x 2 and had to ask for more sauce as there was hardly any in the mushrooms all that for £60 I mean we must have been wrong in the head to pay £60 for 3 sandwiches and a tiny bowl of spaghetti with a bit of cheese sauce on never again I WOULDN'T EAT HERE AGAIN WASTE OF MONEY one of the other adults said they were going to tip the staff so I said yes do that TELL THEM TO GET A DECENT COOK I only put 1 star as it doesn't give the option to leave none

Amazing food - absolutely delicious & such good value for money. I couldn't believe the portion sizes! Still a good temperature after being delivered & the delivery lady was so polite & sweet. Thank you! Would absolutely order from here again & might even dine in next time.

Ordered Two burgers one costing £10 and the other £13 The Price is ridiculous for JUST a burger Burgers Arrived Burnt with a thick layer of charcoal on both. Inedible rip off

Had a surprise 30th here! Was absolute brilliant all evening even until the early hours!. The room looked stunning! Big thank to all the staff for setting up and helping out where they could and the food was delicious! Thank you so much Trish & Kat! Everyone had an amazing evening!

We had to wait for our meal over hour and half when it finally arrived asked for pepperoni sauce came out like water wine had to rush eating ase we were at a party upstairs then every time I needed a drink my husband had to go back down stairs for my drink would not recommend this place again

We wanted somewhere local, friendly and relaxed to take the family and Oak fitted the bill beautifully. The food was tasty and well presented and we all enjoyed our meal. The staff are friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely return.

We went to listen to their guest singers, Andy Bayley. He was brilliant and well worth going to watch. However, I'm not sure there was enough advertising to promote him, but I'm not sure. We stayed so that the entertainer had an audience and was given the credit he deserved and not the laughter that was heard by the staff above his performance.

Spent £25 on two meals a fish and chips which was stone cold and was horrible the chips looked like they were 2 days old, and a salt and pepper burger that arrived without chips, which when I ordered it I assumed would have chips with it, so will not be ordering from the Oak again as this has happened a few times.

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!! . Myself and my family went here on a Sunday. They never brought us any menus, then couldn't find the children's menus. When we eventually ordered the food took so long to come out. Once the food was brought out they forgot the children's food, the roast dinner was probably the worst I have ever had. I eat the Yorkshire pudding and nothing else, at this point the children's food still wasn't brought out so I didn't say anything as I wanted to make sure the children's food was sorted. In the end only one childs meal was brought out, we told them to leave the other as we were completely fed up. Once the one child had eaten we asked for the bill and mentioned to the staff that the roast dinners were awful, the plates were still on the table so I showed that I hadn't eaten any of mine and the meat, on my partners plate (beef) still had string hanging on it and it wasn't even chewable. The staff member said there was nothing he could do, he said the manager was off with covid and he couldn't make the decision to take anything off the bill. I insisted I shouldn't have had to pay full price for the roasts as the staff could clearly see the plates almost untouched, we were there in the end for half an hour before he said he would offer a slight discount, as we had a 2 year old with us we agreed in the view that we would never return and tell friends and family to avoid. As we were paying we got asked not to leave a review. I have never been so astounded by such a poor service and then to have the additional cheek to ask me not to leave a review. We had to go to mcdonalds on the way home as we had been in there for hours and our son had left without any food. NEVER AGAIN WOULD I GO HERE AND I WOULD ADVISE ANYONE THINKING OF VISITING SEARCH FOR SOMEWHERE ELSE.. THE PRICES ARE EXTORTIONATE, SO TO COME AWAY DISSATISFIED AND NOT EVEN FED IS JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH!! I ALSO STILL HAVE THE PHOTOGRAPH OF THE UNEATEN ROAST DINNER AND I WILL ADD THAT SHORTLY. To add - here's a photograph of said children.. one on the left is the one that didn't eat.. this was taken in the oak on 15/10/23 I also have photographs on my other phone of the meat with the string on.. and the uneaten roast just waiting for my phone screen to be fixed and I'll upload. Your response adds further insult to injury as obviously everything that was said on the day to us was a lie! What a way to run a business

Perfect for catching up with friends , great atmosphere

Family of 6 went for Xmas day lunch , 3.00pm. what can I say to start starters below average 40 minutes wait for main course turkey with gravy Luke warm 5 minutes later vegetables arrived sprouts and broccoli just dipped in hot water they were raw then 20 minutes later roast potatoes were served which was a waste of time as the whole dinner was now cold , then by this time it was 5.30 no table service for drinks whatsoever throughout the meal then we had to go to the bar to ask for our dessert which was a tiny piece of chocolate torte not worth having we did complain but where not given any satisfaction it went on deaf ears for £79.95 it was a total rip off this was our first and last time we will visit this establishment worst Xmas dinner we have ever had very disappointing .

Ive been going out for xmas day lunch many years and frankly its not an easy thing to do. However, my xmas day lunch/dinner at The Oak was simply wonderful. Firstly good food...Prawns and Smoked salmon starter. Turkey, main course (obviously) and then Xmas pud. Lovely environment and most of all great staff. Looking forward to booking again for 2024...Thanks to all of you

The meal was nice, but there was some items missing, no peas and tartar sauce from the fish and chips and no salad with the burger.

Came for Christmas Dinner we were also a later sitting as previous review from Mark g , exactly the same review sprouts and brocoli hadn't even touched the water they were solid, the server did reheat but came back the same , food was cold , as had to wait for more cutlery, no apple sauce or stuffing only cranberry,offered, parsnip soup was lovely apart from the mass of garlic sauce all over it , felt sorry for the servers they were rushed off their feet , too many bookings in a small bistro, we couldn't move on our table, beef was so rare and fatty had to leave it , was not worth £79.95 pp , no coffee or mince pies offered, very disappointed we also will not return Xmas day again ...

Went for Christmas dinner, we were the last seating along with 3 other tables. First time I ever actually eaten out on Christmas Day and it will be my last. Service snails place 40 mins between starter and mains Food cold which I complained about and I was offered warm gravy to heat it up I was shocked. The side bits such as veg were hard and under cooked. Overall experience dreadful I won’t be back

Went for a Christmas meal with special friends and had a lovely time. Food was exceptional and plenty of it, so glad my friend booked here. We travelled from Chester and would definitely come here again. Thanks to all the staff and Merry Christmas.

Burger and chips were fine if a bit greasy. The appetisers, especially the calamari, were really disappointing - a tiny limp portion of about six greasy cold beige rings.

Ah hour late and it wasn’t even right!

Attended for evening meal. Had the Tapas menu which was top quality and delicious. We asked if the Buffalo wings could have the BBQ sauce on them rather than a hot sauce and nothing was too much trouble. Highly reccomend for the food, friendly atmosphere, and excellant service.

We went for a birthday meal 7 of us. We went and sat down at a slightly cramped but okay table. Staff came over after maybe 5-10 minutes for a drink order and then drinks arrived maybe 20 minutes later. The hot drinks were very full so had spilt onto saucer which made things a little messy when drinking but not the end of the world. Food order was taken 5-10 minutes later and food took approx 45 minutes to arrive (Avocado toast, pancakes, waffles, bacon butty, small breakfast, eggs Benedict and a breakfast roll). Food arrive in 3 waves in a 10 minute period. Food was decent. I ordered the 'avocado on sourdough' which I later heard the other waitress tell a customer isn't actually sourdough but they haven't changed the menu or said anything so bit disappointed. Ordered bacon and hash browns to accompany and were very good. Portion size of Avocado could he better. Overall, decent but definitely need to improve speed of service and maybe plan in advance your staffing requirements if you know you have a 'large' party coming in.

Ordered food approximately 4hrs in advance to be delivered and still was 25mins late Some of the food was cold but nice once heated good portions Wine was nicely chilled
