Located down Price Street is without a shadow of a doubt one of the most beautiful pubs in Birkenhead namely The Stork Hotel. The interior is amazing, multi roomed, an island style serving bar, pubby decor and furnishings, etched glass features, tv's to enjoy the sport, a pool table and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside in their beer garden. We were here on a Thursday afternoon, we ordered a cider each served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great pub we were in. This pub is special, its like stepping back in time ,the wonderful tiled exterior is so beautiful, it's one of the most eye catching pubs in Merseyside. My cider was really good, a crisp, effervescent cider that on a hot afternoon certainly cut through the thirst. We really enjoyed our ciders in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Stork Hotel is easy to locate along Price Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday, Midday till 11pm. Friday & Saturday, Midday till Midnight. Sunday, Midday till 11pm. A wonderful pub, most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

The Stork Hotel on Price street is a fantastic pub that has an amazing multi-roomed interior and is well worth visiting when in Birkenhead. The interior to this pub is excellent with a superb unspoilt multi-roomed interior with many original features such as its original tiling and its stained glass windows and many other interesting item's throughout the whole pubs interior. We have visited the Stork Hotel for years as they always had a superb cask beer range but on our last two visits they appear not to stock cask ales which could be down to the pandemic but it may be down to changing tastes of the pubs clientele who seems to be younger now. Still a great pub and well worth visiting'we visited here fairly early in the afternoon and it was fairly empty. When here we had a couple of glasses of Strongebow brewery fruit ciders which were very refreshing and well priced. The Stork Hotel Is a superb unspoilt pub and well worth visiting and very easy to find from Hamilton Lane bus stop it's a short walk.(This is my second review of the Stork Hotel). Opening Hours. Monday-Thursday-12.00-23.00. Friday-Saturday-12.00-00.00. Sunday-12.00-23.00. Nearest Bus Stop. Hamilton Lane bus stop. Nearest Train Station. Hamilton Square train station.

Perhaps one of the oldest pubs in the town as it was built in 1918. The fixtures & fittings are in keeping with the period so its a pleasant drinking environment & the staff are friendly. Beer selection is limited but if you like old period pubs then you'll love The Stalk. They also have a rather large back yard now converted into a smoking area & beer garden with a large screen tv for those of you who enjoy football. The pubs location next to tge job centre in a less attractive part of town may detur the more snobby pub officianado's but trust me on this. Its a real treat for a proper fan of old interesting pubs.

Promised table service never arrived. We left after 35 minutes due to no service whatsoever despite locals around us with no service issues. Atmosphere was 'cliquey' Not the friendly pub it used to be, no cask ales anymore either. Sadly Wetherspoons turned out to be the best option, where we got served politely within 5 minutes of arrival (how sad) Avoid the Stork if possible, it's glory days are well over, and the new staff aren't welcoming to new customers. We went to 'Molly's' after no service for 35 minutes and the staff there where waiting on us hand and foot literally as soon as we arrived. Brewery ran pub now, but its just TERRIBLE! I can't leave a 'no star' review, so the 1 star I gave it is generous.

Me and my friend went earlier this evening and literally got zero service whatsoever. We were told upon arrival to take a seat and that someone will be with us shortly to take orders, yet we both waited for over half an hour while also noticing that other people were getting served. The Stork Pub is a great pub I always look forward to visiting on any trip under the River Mersey I take . I love the look of this pub ,the interior is as traditional as you can get, a beautifully tiled island style serving bar 🍸, multi roomed ,fantastic decor and furnishings including some great etched glass windows , tv's to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside in their beer garden. My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Thursday afternoon, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of the staff, we gave our details of name, phone number or email address to assist with the governments track and trace system and then sanitised our hands and ordered a fruit cider each ,these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just kicked back, chilled out and planned out the day ahead while sipping our delicious ciders . My cider was really good, a crisp, effervescent and most importantly iced cold cider 😋 bursting with taste ,very refreshing on a hot afternoon. Visited here for a Sunday roast now that it's under new management. Husband actually went in earlier in the week and a guy behind the bar told him it was all homemade after asking if the veg was all fresh. We walked in and nobody was eating, this was the warning sign I needed but hubby said let's give it a try. I asked if they was serving and a nice young lady to be fair said yes. We ordered from her and sat down with our drinks. When the meal came it was basically all frozen veg with dried up meat and a frozen Yorkshire pud. I believe the roasties may have been fresh but was pale and tasted like grease the mashed potato was also actually smash. I don't know why we never complained we just stood up and walked out went home hungry and l cooked us something at home, I don't know what's has happened with the original decor too but it's also now painted in cheap magnolia paint we will definitely will not be back!

Just could not fault this pub. Arrived straight from work - mid evening Friday. Never been before - came to see the band. Hungry - as they weren't actually serving food at that time had a very reasonably priced cheese and onion sandwich. But later - there was an absolutely delicious chilli con carne - on the house just welcomed donations. When I was thanking them afterwards - the lady - I'm sorry I didn't get her name volunteered to give me an extra bowl to take home. Made a great breakfast too!

Unfortunately not for us.. we ordered 6 chicken roast dinners. The chicken was a small drum like portion, lots of veg but it was very shrivelled and dry. Roast potatoes looked anaemic, and Gravy was so watery we had to made our own.

We were in Birkenhead, from North Wales, to buy rugs for our lounge. A hunger inducing task I have to say. We have been here before, pre covid, and enjoyed the fish and chips. It was an oversight on my part that I did not comment on that occasion but I will now. After an inedible experience at a more local establishment near my hometown recently we were somewhat dubious about another fish and chip let down. We needn`t have worried. Beautiful moist ,lightly battered fish NOT swimming in oil. Lovely fluffy chips and my husband, a fryer of forty years standing, was bowled over with his meal. I know it`s only fish and chips, but believe me it can be done badly so often. Superb food( my husband loved his spicy curry sauce) hot ,fresh and tasty. A noisy atmosphere but it was far outweighed by our lovely lunch. Thankyou and keep doing exactly what you`re doing

I was absolutely appalled by the whole experience at Love Penarth this afternoon. We walked in and was absolutely bombarded with a man at the counter telling us everything they had. There were no menus, nothing written on the boards above the bar, no indication of pricing or what they served. Due to this a man behind the bar was up in our faces telling us the menu as soon as we took one foot into the restaurant, we felt we had to stay. They were only taking cash so we had to get cash out after ordering what we wanted. We ordered one scoop of vanilla ice cream in a tub, an iced soya milk coffee and a tuna sandwich with some salad. This cost us £15! When I found out how much my mum had to pay for such little poor quality food and a service from people who seemed desperate. I decided to ask for a receipt to figure out how it was so expensive. The tuna sandwich was absolutely appalling and would’ve honestly costed them 50p to make but some how coated us £7/£8. The salad must’ve gone off and there wasn’t even much of it, the bread was your typical cheap bread. Which is totally fine! But how can you charge £8 for this!? The ice cream was apparently £3.50 which was from your cheap soft scoop vanilla ice cream, you could probably get a whole tub for less than what we paid for a scoop. The iced coffee I didn’t even try, I wanted to return it for some money back because to pay £15 was just wrong! I work in hospitality along side my studies, so I understand from both points of view and I’m never one to complain or expect refunds or anything but this was just a rip off and completely unfair and inhumane. When I spoke to this gentleman about possibly getting a refund at least for the coffee, I gave clear and reasonable reasoning and the attitude I received was absolutely shocking. He was so rude and refused to believe anything was wrong, he done anything wrong or that we should have a refund. He said he could only give me 50p which I don’t understand where that logic came from or why he thought that was an acceptable price or response. Eventually, he gave me a £4 refund. I knew I wasn’t going to get anywhere with this man so gave in and took the money and left. After that we had a waitress who constantly kept coming over to ask me what happened which was a bit unprofessional and again was just bombarding us with questions and information etc. I didn’t discuss it further and when she apologised (the only apology I had gotten) I reassured her it wasn’t her fault and that she only brings out what she’s given and she had nothing to worry about. With that we left. I can’t even put into words how awful this experience was and how wrong we were treated. Like I said, we are not people who complain, ever. And being a waitress I completely understand and get both sides of unhappy customers. However, this was just too far cross that line and as a family with not much money, and was only out for a treat, it was a complete let down and disappointment
