Caffe Nero in Wirral

Yes, it's a bit worn around the edges, but that is not the fault of the staff who work at the branch day to day. It's in a very high-traffic area of Birkenhead and so it's a busy spot. The staff are always absolutely fantastic when I visit and today is no exception. I am a wheelchair user and nothing is too much trouble for the staff in assisting me. My food was brought to the table; the lady offered to bring sugar etc. instead of me getting it myself, and they were happy to bring it all over AFTER I'd used the loo. Yes, the loo desperately needs updating/ripping out and replacing, but it's functional. So, if you want chic and sophisticated coffee/lunch, then don't come here. But if you want good service from friendly, helpful and kind staff, then do come. It's a recommendation from me.

We found this particular branch to be well below the standards of Caffè Nero service, expertise and professionalism... Shabby and dirty with sulky and unwelcoming staff who can't make drinks properly nor heat food sufficiently. This is nothing like what a Caffè Nero should be like. Being new to this area, we have since read other reviews of this branch which leads us to believe we are not the only ones to experience this. Would definitely not recommend.

Staff member was working hard but all the espresso shot glasses were lined up waiting for orders rather than being made fresh. Had to clear table. Toilet is terrible.

Been to better Caffè Nero's, although the service was lovely, quick and polite, the actual food and drinks left alot to be desired, the cakes I ordered where all days older then they should have been, the fruit cooler wasn't cold, its was lukewarm and more of a watered down juice, however the coffee where perfect as always, but what really let the vist down was the fast the tables hadn't been wiped for a while so they where sticky and there was dead flys/bugs and webs with dust in windows

This is still my favourite branch of Nero. The staff are wonderful, and remember regular customers' orders. They are dog friendly and very kind.

Unbelievable! Before so called management lady with long black hair came on the scene the staff were lovely, chatty, the service amazing and a joy to visit. NOW, with her in charge (of training as well), burnt food, takes orders wrong multiple times every time, staff too scared to speak and she is vile and argumentative! I hope head office reads this and helps the other staff before she sinks this place!!!!

Too busy gabbing about secret santa and forgot my gingerbread syrup then told me they had none but had charged me for it. No refund.

I have often used this branch. Why has the down stairs toilet been out of use for 3 months. The floor covering needs replacing , its bare and the floor boards are visable. And last why do the staff not deter people from eating food clearly bought out side the shop .I have just witnessed 3 women eating chips and nuggets in the shop. They did buy 3 coffees.

Got just eat, sausage rolls possibly the best sausage rolls we have had they are beautiful, all the pastries are well made and fresh, substituted item and a note to say so, very polite and thoughtful, delivery very quick too, great food, great service, was first time trying a nero and won't be the last! Thanks guys 👏👏

Dirty sticky tables , staff having their own conversations when tables have cups and sugar on them.

Best main stream coffee shop around.

The staff are helpful and friendly. There haven't been enough chairs outside for months, losing many customers. The food is always too expensive. People buy food from more reasonable priced shops who are competitor of Cafe Nero.

Tried the amaretto iced latte was very nice, the amaretto hot choc is next on my list! Service was quick & friendly

This branch has the most wonderful kind staff who got out of their way to help you. The cherry iced latte with coconut milk is delicious, and a pup cup for my dogs. The staff are friendly, committed, and so kind to elderly and disabled customers who need extra support.

Ordered coffee and the staff were locked into a conversation and made feel like I was in the way. I object strongly to being called mate at any time least of all by somebody who is meant to be serving me. So disrespectful.

I have 2 gripes,regarding the only 2 staff. when there is a fairly big queue, 1 member of staff should not be filling up extra cups especially when virtually full of cups already, secondly there is time and place for a server to waffle, just not when it is busy. Took ages to get a drink ,the place looked messy to be fair. Probably the worst branch I visited. Coffee was decent though

The shop is shabby and grubby. Chairs are all ripped and the whole place could do with being refurbished. The shop was dirty and dusty and to continue to pay these prices for this experience is unacceptable.

I am autistic, so am not fully able to engage socially allot of the time. A young man, relatively new to the cafe served me. He engaged me in some kind of jokey convo but I was a bit in my.own head and my response seemed to offend him. He then proceeded to bully me alongside a colleague and even a customer. All because I didn't fulfil his social expectations. I am very angry about this as I have to pass the cafe when I shop and no longer feel welcome or desired there as a customer, despite being frequent business. I did nothing wrong. But this lads ego made a simple transaction into an actually bullying issue. And his colleagues supported this. I will not tollerate abelism from anyone going forward. Made a complaint to head office but doubt they care. Don't let staff treat you badly. This lad is newish, thin, heavily scouse. You cannot be ableis the way he was. This is deeply distressing and not something I will forget for a long time. I habe had challenging jobs, dealt.with problematic customers. Never did I resort to school like bully culture.

the so much advertised iced cherry latte was terrible! worse then a regular iced latte and so overpriced, almost £4 just because they added a fake tasting cherry syrup. it looked and tasted terrible! service was rushed, got the impression that they are not properly trained baristas!

Great place for a good coffee, friendly staff and conveniently located

Before visiting this specific Caffe Nero, I had negative views on the coffee chain as a whole. However, I visited this CN whilst other coffee shops were busy and I actually had my views changed. The staff are so lovely and funny, they're really helpful and they make brilliant coffee. I now visit this CN whenever i'm in town center before work or if i'm coming to do Uni work. The staff are the best part of the shop itself, I wouldn't go to any other CN unless its this one :)

Service was great however the quality of the coffee was not… unfortunately it is one of the best in Birkenhead the rest are worse.

Tea served in dirty and chipped cup. Coffee served in chipped cup,had to return both. Coffee cup was the worse as had two really large chips on rim which could of cut mouth !!!!!!

Come here a couple of times a month with husband and children. Staff are always so lovely (usually 2 men) and can’t do enough for us. Coffee is the best around, and has cute little latte art when they have the time. Can’t recommend enough, the staff really do make the place.

Dine in no atmosphere like Costa

Order was wrong, are drinks where half full, cream was put on the wrong drinks. straws where forgotten, We called back up and the manger was just rude, he was blaming it on the drive ( very good management that instead of finding a fitting solution) and told us to get a refund from just eat( takes over a week) and order again ( as if I am gonne order again for it to be completely wrong again and then for them not to sorted, it was 37 pound something absolutely joke for what we got.

Fast service and very friendly staff. The coffee is just Nero coffee. Sometimes good sometimes bad. I'm not talking about coffee with milk, just about Espresso or Americano. I like the place.

This is apparently a medium sized iced latte with creme i had delivered.. only good thing was delivery time was earlier than eta . Very disappointed to say the least 😳

Can't believe we got our order and wanted to sit outside ,but told they were only allowed to put out a few chairs,lots of empty tables and only 11 chairs.We come here at least 2 or 3 times a wk and my mum is elderly and needs a chair , shame on you Nero .

Coffee is not what it used to be 🤔 Seems like their not using the correct amount of coffee, the flat white was disappointing😕

Staff really friendly cosy place

Nice coffee and friendly staff. Upstairs seating area is a bit grim. Toilets need maintenance. Broken loo roll dispenser and dodgy taps.

Good coffee shop in the centre of Birkenhead, beside the shops and market. I sat inside and got a lovely chocolate orange donut and cappuccino. Upstairs was closed off, making it difficult to get a table downstairs. I got a small table beside the toilet, so I didn't stay as long as I wanted. There was seating free outside, but I found it was too cold to sit out.

Love Cafe Nero. Maybe not just this one but it's my closest one. The atmosphere is always nice and the feeling is unique here. This Nero does however need a new WC!

always a great spot for me and my family. The brown haired barrister is super nice, friendly and welcoming and all in all just makes our visit just that bit better, so thank you!

Coffee was fine and food, but a young male member of staff had finished his shift and was saying goodbye to his 2 female colleagues. He said goodbye 3 times and they both carried on chatting ignored him, this made me feel so sorry for him. He was a lovely polite young man I ended up saying bye and thank you to him 😔

Staff are lovely. Very welcoming and eager to help find you what you want. Good selection of items and at a reasonable price. Love calling in when I'm out shopping. Keep up the good work guys.x.

A busy chain store town centre cafe. Useful meeting place when meeting family or friends before going shopping together. Staff are genuinely friendly & helpful but be wary of other customers trying to pinch your table if you pop to the loo or return to the counter to place an order.

Service depends on weather good day its busy. Price is average with usual choices of coffee and take away snacks. Would recommend it though
