I will definitely be back. Staff welcoming and friendly, I would like to thank the waitress who served our table of 10 tonight for my daughters 3rd birthday 🎂, she went above and beyond interacting with all 4 children who where there, and making sure we had enough drinks. She is an asset to your team. Thank you so much for the lovely food. Sorry I didn't get her name but we were booked for half 6. Food was outstanding.

Ordered Steak and Mushroom Pie as a Main Course and it arrived very overcooked. It was replaced and arrived after my wife had finished her meal. Manager said ‘no-one else had complained’ completely missing the point that we were!! May have expected more fulsome apology and possibly a drink on the house whilst waiting for my replacement meal. Eventually reduced the bill by 25% but only after we had complained more. Poor customer service. Also noticed that dogs are allowed to sit on the seats in the bar area. Will not eat (or sit) there again.

Food was so-so, not terrible but not great either. Bill for main, dessert and a drink for two came to £70, which seemed a bit steep for what it was… but then I’m probably just out of touch. For comparison, this Summer had an amazing meal for four people, including two desserts, sides and drinks and it came to less than £70. Only difference? The cheaper, better meal was in Prague.

First visit since it was a pub. Visited early doors with a group of friends. A lot of money spent on the decor and looking good. Fairly busy with families eating. Ordered drinks. Good wine selection. However first beer a short measure, so asked for a top up, no problem. Then two more beers ordered, both cloudy. Had to be returned and the barrel changed. They clearly didn't flush the pipes, so replacement beers cloudy too. Eventually got it right. Steff were apologetic. With this chain the beer selection is normally good and well served clearly some teething problems here.

I grew up in west kirby for the first 24 years of my life so visited this pub regularly in that time, since moving away in 2009 it died a slow death and remained dormant for years. I’m overjoyed that on this visit “home” it’s been renovated to a very high standard and the Ring O’ Bells heart beats proudly once more. Great atmosphere, with plenty of people enjoying themselves, the food was really good and the selected of ales, wines and sprits was vast. Our children ran around the beer garden (as I had done decades before) while we enjoyed a crisp pint (as my parents had done decades before). I really admire the current owners for their efforts and vision for this place and I hope it’s a huge success for years to come. In short, pop in and I’d be surprised if you’re disappointed. Without question on my next visit to my childhood home I’ll be here again.

My meal of cod loin was delicious, but sadly my husband's meal of roast beef was paltry. The beef was tough, the yorkshire pudding was overdone and there were onky 2 small roast potatoes and very little beg. Three of our friends had the quiche and couldn't believe it was classed as a main meal. The quiche was thin with just a few pea shoots, that was it!! The place was done out beautifully with lotd of seating outside as well as in, however, the portions are very small for the price.

First time going last Saturday with three hungry children and friend. The first thing I noticed were how expensive the meals were for pub standards but we ordered. £80 spent for 2 small adult and 3 children’s meals (2 pints of larger and 3 soft drinks) seemed high not least because they were all bland but also because the portion sizes were mean. Beautiful pub and beer garden which had been well re-furbished throughout. Had heard great things regarding the food and service but was left bitterly disappointed. Starters and mains served together, seemed to be a massive inconvenience for 3 individuals to order their own respective food at a table outside - had 4 comments to this nature from staff though after working in this industry it's pretty standard to me, food was mixed. Starter (soda bread and butter) was lovely, however fish and chips was basic - fish ok but chips severely undercooked and inedible. At just short of £18 a plate, you expect better. Dessert (chocolate tart) had a beautiful wild cherry sorbet but ultimately the burnt tart case left a bitter smoky taste like burnt pizza in the mouth. Desserts messed up three times in a row. Has the potential to be a great pub, but the ordering systems and quality of food need significant improvement for the price, especially compared to local competitors like the Red Fox etc.

We thought we would give this pub a try with it recently reopening. Very overpriced for what we had, I chose the grilled cod loin with a curry, potato sauce with cauliflower bhaji not very flavoursome, very bland and couldn't detect a curry flavour also it was not a cod loin but a small cod fillet! Well cooked but not worth the money. My husband had the sirloin and wasn't impressed with quality for £28.50, daughter had Sea Bass cooked well but lacking flavour as well. Our outing was for my husband's birthday but have had better food elsewhere for less money. Shame as its a lovely pub been refurbished excellently & gardens well groomed. They need to look at pricing as most who were dining were only having nibbles not main meals

Took my mother on a trip back 'home', as she had heard good things since the reopening. Car Park full (run up to xmas to be expected), so we were doubtful we'd get a table despite it being 5 pm on a Monday. It was chocker inside, too, so even less positive outlook. It took a few mins to get someone's attention to ask about a table, which is my only minor gripe. However, from this point on, all things went really well. We were seated down the stairs on a large table lovely presented with xmas crackers, etc. Good looking menu, nicely laid out with gluten-free options clearly noted. Service at the table was great, the food also, and despite it being very busy the food came really quickly. Some carol singing in the background, too, made for a wonderful atmosphere. Definitely will be back(been back and same great service and food). Well done, guys, especially for opening at such a crazy hectic time of the year. You have a great offering. 👏

Clearly having teething problems. Too many staff but they're all too "busy" to serve the queue of customers at the bar. Someone in front of me in the queue asked a bartender who was putting glasses away if they were serving, and they answered "no" quite bluntly. The venue don't seem interested in people popping in for a drink, only those coming for a meal. They've forgotten what the place used to be. It's very expensive for what is available. Limited range of beers and all the generic spirits you can get cheaper elsewhere. Decor is ok, but not faithful to the history of the building. There is clearly a lot for the team to learn. If they do, it has the potential to be excellent but right now they need to get the basics sorted out.

Recognised the manager previously at the " Jug'n'Bottle Heswall, a nice guy. Was difficult for two of our party of six negotiating their way from the entrance past the bar to our table in the new extension.(I don't think they would have managed on their scooters or wheelchair. Food was overpriced in comparison to elsewhere (atleast a1/3rd more expensive for similar fayre). Considering we paid around +£60 per couple without including our drinks bill. Hi Just thought I would leave a little feed back from my recent visit 21.02.24 My first visit since the refurb. Place does look good. I came with my mum who has Parkinson’s and is in a wheel chair. Double doors a little bit of an issue. But nothing I’m not used to. Kitchen clearly had an issue as whole building smelt of fish.. asked for a table for two. Was taken to the new part of the building all the windows were open to let out smell. After getting mum out of the chair into the seat . It was far too cold to sit there. Asked if we could move. Back into the wheelchair to move by the fire. Only to be told, once seated it’s not table service.. I just think a little common sense when dealing with customers with special needs should be taken into account. Doesn’t make for an enjoyable visit

Update: went again and although swift service, we raised an issue regarding a drink ordered and received a less than helpful reply. A member of my party asked for a non-alcoholic cider and received one that was alcoholic. This place is absolutely amazing! The staff that were the most friendly I’ve ever dealt with! The prices were excellent! The coffee is absolutely the best!! We were so impressed with the coffee we ended up buying whole bean coffee to go. The macadamia nut is the best I’ve ever had!!! I would highly recommend going here, I also have to mention they’re cold brew was amazing!!! It’s super fun and there they have their own roasting machine the owner or manager not sure who he was took all the time to explain the process and show us how it worked it was tons of fun for the grandkids👍
