Had a lovely full English breakfast - delivered by the app as working from home and being lazy… Great food and of very good quality. Thank you.

Came here for some food and drinks for a joint birthday ,my 20th and my friend’s 18th ,and it was so lovely! the man on the bar was kind and smiley and made great cocktails despite being very new to his role and only making a handful off the menu so far. The food was lovely ,although we definitely underestimated the size 😂overall it was the best birthday and the best service and I will definitely be coming again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It was filthy, staff stood around doing nothing. Dogs constantly barking(bad owners) good is an absolute rip off. We only went in because of a friend's recommendation, but we certainly won't be going back EVER. I am a local aswell, but am very busy,so popped in and won't be going again.

Decided to have lunch after vowing castle / grounds. Big cafe lots of tables outside. Pretty standard menu. I had ploughman’s (£11). Massive chunk of bread, but no butter. I asked for some & did get two pats. The bread needing cutting in two, knife not sharp enough…. No dressing on the salad & despite looking couldn’t find any mayo etc. Cheese was healthy portion & tasty. Probably just about worth £11 but no more. My wife had tuna sandwich & the bread was hard on the outside (left under heat lamp?). Tuna was bland & obviously not seasoned. Don’t think we’ll eat here again on this visit.

Fui a tomar una taza de café revitalizante después de visitar el Museo de la Vida de Lakeland. Cálida bienvenida, delicioso bollo de café y queso. Volvería a llamar si en la zona.

Erin was amazing! Service with a smile and the chips were the best I’ve had in a good while. First time in this pub and will definitely be returning for a proper meal asap. Thank you Erin for such an amazing experience, you are an asset to the team! 🤍🤍

Me and my partner came for lunch on valentine's day. I had a lovely scone with jam and cream, and he had the mozzarella and (something) soup with a ham sandwich. His soup was one of the best I've ever tried! My scone was baked perfectly and paired with quality jam. The prices are not cheap, soup and a sandwich being about £13- but well worth it for a filling meal. I would 100% recommend a visit either for a sweet treat or a savoury bite.

Not great, lady serving said she was too busy to take an order without a table number - despite only 6 tables to choose from and my saying we would look out for it. Walked back downstairs out of building to garden to check table number then soup was salty and scone was damp (microwaved?)

We had some time to kill whilst waiting for a boat trip and decided to get a couple of burgers and 2 teas from the kiosk. A lady served us and she was pleasant and the man who was also behind the counter was friendly too, but then I saw him do something that made my stomach turn. He tipped some beans into a pot and put them in the microwave. Halfway through heating them up he stuck his finger in them to check the temperature and then licked it. Some much needed health and safety training in food prep required here!

Came here for small plates and a few drinks. Tried every dish on the night's menu (except for one veggie option as neither of us are vegetarian) and could not fault anything. Food was excellent, the server was so friendly and took time to explain the dishes, as well as their plans for the venue. Cocktails were exceptional, and have a very good selection of spirits, including a lot I've not seen elsewhere. Will definitely be back. Thank you for a great evening!

Lovely pub, shame it can’t be said of the food, husband had gammon and chips which was ok I had fish and chips, asked for garden peas instead of mushy, got the mushy ones, batter was hard and the fish inside what there was on it was dry, had more fish in a fish finger, took ages for the food to be served, for which they gave me half a Guinness for free, plus some of the chips were hard and uncooked
