A dull and bland range of drinks. No atmosphere. Edited- it’s expensive too. Cheaper drinking in town and getting taxi back.

Lovely place, good selection of beers, friendly staff. Only thing holding it back is no food. Tbf it is difficult times to get kitchen staff, chef etc. I do wish it well as it is a great place.

Great friendly staff and atmosphere

We've recently moved into the Heron Hill area and looked forward to walking to the Heron for a drink and a meal occasionally. Went there one night in December early evening to be told that they no longer do food, There are thousands of houses within walking distance of the Heron so lots of potential business - what an opportunity missed by the management as well as a disservice to the community!

Nice pub with plenty of TVs showing sports, pool table, darts - I wish they had a couple more craft beers available!

Had a great night watching the World Cup. My rating is for the lovely bar staff that worked so hard to serve the drinks to a full full full house of crazy England fans. Thank you.

Nice pub with good selection of drinks, nice staff. Great place for sport as there's loads of tvs. They don't serve a menu of food yet but have a pizza van on a Friday. Fairly priced drinks

Went to Heron Tue 17th May. Website says 11pm closing, so I had booked a taxi for 11pm. After 1st pint the young lady told me that the pub closes 10pm but was later due football game. However next week it will be 10pm so earlier taxi. Knocked the edge off the night as it was implied they would do me a favour this time but not again. After the big game the 5 +screens, with 5 people watching continued to show football with LOUD volume, even though she was asked to turn it down a little. The pub is very echoey.

Nice place. We went and the football was on and it was very loud, but it's a pleasant pub. Expensive.

Family friendly pub in residential area not easy to get to from Kendal unless you have transport

The Owners and her Staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. However the Drinks are far too expensive and need to be reduced.

Thus is my local and I can't fault it. There is always something to do (be it a quiz or karaoke), great, friendly staff, and reasonably priced.

The beer was expensive compared to other places selling the same beer

The new manager is an absolute disgrace. So rude to us after we’d reserved a table personally her and wouldn’t let us in. Yet we took note of at least 6 other people walking in and her finding tables for them. She shouted at us and was just so rude we wouldn’t believe it. The other staff were brill but the manager is the most rude, vile woman I’ve ever come across

AVOID LIKE THE PLAUGE!!! MADE AN ENQUIRY ABOUT VISITING WITH MY FAMILY TO HAVE A MEAL AND ASKED IF THEY HAD AND ONLINE MENU TO BE TOLD I WASN'T WELCOME AND THE PHONE HUNG UP ON ME. DISGRACEFUL BEHAVIOUR!!!

Just had a lovely afternoon tea at The Heron with my granddaughter and we thoroughly enjoyed it .Christine is really nice and couldn't have made us more welcome .Nothing was too much trouble .Will definately be going again .Nice ambience and lovely clean toilets .x

It's a great local pub with a exceptionally good atmosphere and well organised in these days for social distances.

We visited the Heron on Sunday for a meal, we’ve been in a few times for drinks but haven’t eaten here before. What a fantastic meal we had! Two of us had the roast beef which was accompanied by roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, cauliflower cheese, broccoli, carrots, peas, a huge jug of gravy and stuffing. We ordered a portion oF chips which were home made like we used to have as children, homemade and tasty. It was absolutely delicious and obviously all home made and large portions, no skimping as in other restaurants we’ve been to where we’ve had to ask for more. I can’t believe we’ve not eaten here before but as we are in walking distance we will definitely be eating here more often. I would thoroughly recommend people to check this place out, I can’t praise it enough and you won’t be disappointed.

Goujons The chicken goujons in here are the best in the south lakes area and when coupled with the sweet chilli dip equals a massive look at me jiggy son from all who eat them eh son true is that son. All the best. 10/10

Very nice pub. Very nice people and staff and food. The carling there is that great rumour has it that one man is in there everyday for it it! Eh son. Anyways hope the price of the pint doesn’t go up after Brexit. All the best also

We had a great Hogmanay there on 31st december 2019 the venue was excellent staff were brilliant and entertainment was brilliant we were made welcome by the owners we will visit there again

It doesn't bode well when there's a pool of vomit outside the front entrance. Even the taxi wouldn't collect from inside the car park!

One of the locals Chris askew is nothing short of a stand up comedian and is a credit to the establishment and all who drink within it. Praise be to the lord and to the producers of Carling.

Great food deals. Great prices and very well cooked. The burgers are amazing. Service is very friendly as are all the staff. Handled our large family group faultlessly. We will be back again soon

The Heron is a Robinson's Pub in the middle of a housing estate and is popular with locals. The drinks were the usual offering from a Robinson's Pub. I didn't eat so can't comment on the food.

It's friendly its clean and by today's standards reasonably priced, shows all live football, and regular live music.

Great pub especially if you like sport, quiz, food and family fun.

I have been going in The Heron since the day it opened. Great place to socialise with other likeminded individuals. I enjoy drinking Carling. All the best 10/10

Brilliant staff ,We arranged to meet there with my Dad who is in the Heron nursing home & my son who is in a wheelchair and traveled from Birmingham. We arranged 11.30 not realising it opened at 12 , I called them and they opened the doors for us , made us feel welcome and ever put bar staff on 5 stars.

It's nice enough place the food is okay nothing to shout about. Good for a quick pint and gam of pool. Football etc is usually on the TV too

The price of Wine gone up yet again. Why?

Well first thing we were greeted with was the landlady sat on a stool drinking a bottle of Becks, and knowing she was going to be cooking the food we would be ordering didn’t fill me with much hope. I’ve had food before there, best thing was the chicken burger but today it wasn’t edible. My pie was stone cold in the middle, mentioned it to the staff, both of which were polite and apologetic, but when pie was returned, it had been nuked to an inch of its life, but the veg on the plate was now cold and the chips had been sat so long they were cold and soggy. Needless to say, I did not eat my meal. It used to be a busy pub, what’s happened I don’t know, but maybe a landlady drinking the stock and serving up shocking meals like that has something to do with it, and I dread to think how often the lines are cleaned. People who go are locals, who don’t have another pub local enough to visit. Sort it out Robinsons.

Big thank you to christine and her staff for a great meal and first class service. We had our annual christmas meal for our RGM group last year and we returned this year based on the great time we had last year. Once again the food and service were spot on.nothing was too much trouble. We look forward to next christmas at the Heron and heartily recomend it for food, drink and friendly staff.

Gone downhill recently when the chicken tasted of and my mates burger had no flavour to it. A pint of as an Miguel £4.10...I'll say no more...

Was passing through Kendal, and popped in, it was tea time, only 3 customers, I ordered a Pint of Lager, no conversation with the girl behind the bar. I sat down to read the paper, returned to the bar and asked for a dash of lemonade in the lager as it did not taste so good, it will cost you 60p I was told, I said I dont want much just a tea spoon, it will cost you 60p I was told again. No further conversation took place. No wonder it was empty, with this attitude. No one eating, so cant comment. Wont be back until the staff change, a strange pub with no atmosphere, thought it would be busy because of the location in the middle of the estate.

Ordered the fish and chips, when it got to the table it looked pretty nice, but the fish meat was hard and there was a bone in every bite, the batter was dripping with grease which was on top of the chips which also ruined them, when your paying almost 9 pounds for fish and chips you expect it half decent, absolutely disgusting

the staff are lovely and very accommodating, the whole pub atmosphere is second to non just so friendly and inviting. very child friendly, also dog friendly, a good array of entertainment on quite regularly, food is lovely and home cooked and reasonably priced , a lovely outdoor area and right next to the park which is a bonus, a good amount of parking and the locals are lovely to id say the pub feels more like a family then just a pub and each person whether staff or costumer makes you feel welcome and not judged.

Very welcoming local pub. Called by this place as our daughter and her young family are moving to the local area and was pleased to find a great social atmosphere with many young families and ( as it happens ) a lot of fun with a great Elvis impersonator blasting out some classic songs in the corner. Looking forward to calling in every-time we pay our daughter a visit

Friday 9th, just been for a Fish Friday bar meal, it was awful. The fish was full of bones and absolutely swimming in oil, pity the car wasn’t due a service as could used the greasey batter. I know that fish have bones and need to be cooked in oil but this was horrible, and to cap it all they put 2 slices of shop bought bread with some sort of “spread” daubed on the table just to make the whole experience disgusting. Live close but will drive in future to a decent place. 0/10 on all fronts.

The pub felt very unfriendly when we walked in, with an atmosphere like we weren't welcome. We only live up the road, but still feel like we don't fit in.

As it’s my local I took friends over to the Heron for a bite to eat and a few drinks whilst watching the football!!

Lovely pub...really made to feel welcome with my 5 year old and one year old daughters. Staff couldn't do enough for us; even offering alternative vege option when something not available. We'll be back!

El pescado estaba un poco insípido y grasienta, patatas fritas un poco seco no parece real, aunque se anuncia como buena y los guisantes, no el tipo de su a menudo sirve. aguado Es un pub no falta un poco de la atmósfera local, pero estaba bien y el personal fue amable.

El servicio de bar es terrible que soportar hablar en lugar de servir. La comida es muy pobre que tenía que enviar el mío 3 veces antes de cambiar mi orden a algo el cocinero podría hacer y no fue agradable. Un ambiente agradable y relajado para unos tragos y una partida de billar/dardos o para ver fútbol, etc. Un buen lugar para traer a mis amigos/familia.

Decidimos comer fuera y como la Garza es cercano decidimos ir allí. Así que me alegro de que no me tenía pollo paté ensalada de salmón y pegajosa toffees budín todo era delicioso y el servicio era rápido y amable... ha mejorado mucho en nuestra última visita

Absolutamente día fantástico al final de fiesta el año. Los niños tuvieron un día fantástico en la diversión de autobús y castillo hinchable.

Cada hora cambia pub manos (que es a menudo) estrellas nuevo limpio comida fresca decente. Comenzó como que de nuevo han desaparecido justo al lado. Hoy fui en muchos artículos habían sido adoptadas fuera del menú, así que ambos tenían que ir por la segunda opción. Acabé eligiendo sándwiches de queso en marrón. pickle El pan estaba cortada en rodajas y solo el 70% de llenado marrón pickle 30% lo que parecía comprobar queso rallado que era insípido. Mi marido tenía sobresaliente no era marrón lo ch y nadar en jugo con patatas fritas saladas, aunque fuertemente insípida. Tan decepcionante ya sabemos que es un pub de fútbol pero no hay excusa y estaba casi vacío no es sorprendente. No comimos allí de nuevo a menos que algo suceda sería un paseo mucho más por su buena comida y bebida. No estaba tan limpia o plantas no habían barrido debajo de las mesas. Pobre esfuerzo

Not been for a while so was not sure what to expect, it was spot on, I had homemade lasagne which is always a favourite of mine, was tasty and presentation was lovely, my friend had homemade burger, all with handcut chips and coleslaw. Pub was quiet but beautifully clean and tidy, had change out of twenty quid for two soft drinks and food so good day all round, we will be back

Friday 3rd June we visited this pub .the general feel of the pub and its surroundings was at first quite good until our meals came.I nearly had Gammon and chips.When my meal was served it appeared to have been cooked 20 minutes earlier, the whole tomato was stone cold and the mushrooms when I found them also cold.The six or seven chips on my plate looked and tasted as though they had been nearly fried an hour ago and kept to one side to go cold and hard The gammon was just about ok but I was really disappointed that a chef would let such a terrible meal out of his kitchen.as you may gather I wont be returning to this

Me and my partner thought the beef stroganoff to die for! We've eaten here before and every time service was excellent, and the food so tasty for a local pub. I would definitely recommend if you're looking for smiling service and a lovely meal.

went on Wednesday evening with my huband we both had chicken tikka which was nice enough but nothing special. It was served with rice & chips in a big bowl. The poppodum served with it could have been on a plate not stuck in the curry as i had to put it on my napkin which i then couldn't use. It's a mystery to me why pubs serve everything on slates/boards, bowls,little buckets for chips ect what's wrong with plates? The service was ok if a little slow but all in all not bad

we were invited to a family celebration (26 persons), obviously menus had been given to us 3 weeks previously so 90% of the meals had been ordered . the pub is on the heron hill estate so is family friendly and also allows dogs (under control) to be brought in . there is ample parking on a level area with good disabled access to the main large dining spaces, there are tables outside with good surrounding views if the weather permits . a good selection of beers on draught behind a large bar. plenty of activities for all the family with a pool table ,darts board and televisions or even quieter seats in different sections of the large inner area. the staff had put six tables close together to accommodate our group and as people arrived kept us informed as to when we would like to start our meal , the first meals arrived in reasonable time , the food was hot and good ,sadly the last meals arrived 40 min after the first had been finished plus some people never got what they ordered .

Went out to the Heron Pub in Kendal for a mid week meal. Lovely big pub with a great atmosphere and good selection of real ales. We ordered our meal which was with starters. My partner had the prawn cocktail and I had the breaded Brie. Both really nice. For main I had the Tower burger(massive) and my Mrs had the lamb shank. Altogether really good food(Scran) and a nice pint(Dizzy Blonde). Will definitely go again.

We went to the Heron with our grandson & fiancé . We ordered & waited at least 45 mins for our food . To say the least it was awful . No taste , service rubbish . There was only one more family in for food , so there was no excuse for the food & service . We are local but will not be back .
