Visited Forum last minute as looking for a bite to eat whilst visiting family in Preston. Called up and advised they had a table free for us, wasn’t sure what to expect but was blown away with the hospitality and staff’s attentiveness 10/10 just for that alone. Really cosy and chill inside, with a lovely selection of food and drinks. We ordered quite a lot of food and it tasted fresh and didn’t wait long either. Can’t wait to visit again with my friends and partner, great little spot🤩

We visited on Thursday 27th March 6.15pm , 7 of us . The food was exceptional & the service even better , our waitress (Olivia ) is such an asset & a credit to Emily’s , she couldn’t do enough for us , starters where all really nice especially the chicken satay croquettes , the peanut sauce was delicious ! Our mains followed and they were equally well received with the Steak & chicken supreme standouts . Nothing could have been better a really lovely night . Highly recommended .

Don't order the Chardonnay! Mine was off/awful/been open too long. Politely asked then to change it and the surly waitress refused so I just left it on the bar. Felt a little threatened when an abrupt barman then approached me at our table to say that 'he wasn't happy' as most people usually 'rave' about the wine(?). Despite some of the staff the place was busy and buzzing with great live music on the Saturday evening we visited. Nice place but could work on their customer service skills.

Last time I was in Farrer's was in 1985 just to buy some coffee! Fast forward 2025, this amazing, historic Kendal institution is still going and super popular! Lakeland tea blend, whole leaf with individual strainers - extra water, milk or lemon - superb! Great old fashioned selection of cakes...young staff, friendly, efficient and cheeky banter...surroundings are atmospheric, very step back in time...recommended! Also recommended is the comprehensive history of John Farrer Coffee Roasters on the net.

When is this even open anymore? Since November the opening hours are totally fictional...12? 2? 4? 6? Numerous times we have turned up to closed doors and no lights on. On the rare occasion where we have been granted admission the atmosphere has been unwelcoming and the barstaff unfriendly.
