Mi hermano gemelo y yo estábamos explorando esta parte de la ciudad cuando decidimos pasar por The Tap House, hemos estado aquí antes en viajes anteriores a Lancaster, siempre lo pasamos bien y así lo demostró en nuestra última visita a aquí. Un gran bar de aspecto, el interior es magnífico, ladrillos a la vista, decoración ecléctica y muebles, un bar de servicio de aspecto fresco domina la sala principal y hay un montón de opciones de asientos repartidos por todo este bar, es solo un bar muy bueno para relajarse. Pedimos cervezas pálidas de Timothy Taylor Brewery, estas se sirvieron en excelentes condiciones, nos relajamos y empapamos de la gran vibra en este concurrido y popular bar mientras bebíamos nuestra cerveza pálida. Mi pale ale era muy buena, una cerveza crujiente, dorada, toques de café y un delicioso aroma y regusto con un final suave, no es una sorpresa que este bar es tan popular entre pale ale servido en este buen estado por el personal que está realmente contento de verte en su bar. Realmente disfrutamos de nuestra cerveza pálida aquí antes de seguir adelante y aunque nuestra visita fue solo fugaz como en cada otra visita a The Tap House nos lo pasamos muy bien. El Tap House es fácil de ubicar a lo largo de Gage Street. El horario de apertura es; Lunes a domingo, abierto desde mediodía. Vale la pena comprobar si estás en la zona o un fan de las cervezas de calidad.

En Lancaster hay algunos bares y pubs de cerveza artesanal muy buenos y el Tap House en la calle Gage era uno de los muchos pubs / bares y restaurantes a los que fuimos en nuestro descanso de dos días a Lancaster. Este es un fantástico bar de cerveza artesanal que ofrece una excelente gama de cervezas bien cuidadas a un precio razonable. El Tap House está ubicado en un bonito edificio que se ve excelente cuando se ilumina en la oscuridad. Tiene un interior muy moderno con una bonita decoración y muebles y brillantes opciones de asientos en todo el interior de los pubs y es una alegría visitar. Mi hermano gemelo y yo visitamos aquí en nuestro último viaje a Lancaster hace unos años y es tan bueno como cuando visitamos aquí por primera vez hace unos años. Cuando visitamos aquí tuvimos una selección de cervezas de barril que eran excelentes con la cerveza destacada que es una cerveza que hemos tomado tantas veces llamada Timothy Taylor's Brewery Landlord ale que eran fantásticos y tenían un buen precio. Es un bar magnífico que se encuentra en una excelente zona de Lancaster y vale la pena visitarlo si estás por esta zona. (Esta es mi segunda revisión de la Tap House). Horario de apertura. Lunes - Martes - Cerrado. Miércoles - jueves - 16. 00 - 00 . 00 . Viernes - 14. 00 - 01 . 00 . Sábado - 13. 00 - 01 . 00 . Domingo - 12. 00 - 23 . 00 . Las horas pueden diferir de arriba.

Proper public house in a proper little City.

Always a busy pub on a Saturday afternoon and was the same last time we went. Live band were good and passing through the tambourine welcome party was a sight to see. Although a small bar, was patient enough to get served. Friendly staff and people always to be found whenever I come here

Wednesday 2nd October 2024 We visited this great real ale pub in central Lancaster Today 3 good real ales on offer a good CAMRA DISCOUNT available to members. Well kept real ales the owners know how to keep the real ale and this spacious 1 roomed pub has good clientelle Pub some days opens 4.oc but gets a late night vibrant clentelle Keep up the good work all involved

Me and my girlfriend nip in for a drink and the owner off the tap house was very rude to us and the same with two ladies as well so we both left

Used to be great, now just average. When we went there was no real ale on due to a cellar fault. Bizarrely this place is either rammed or dead. Wouldn’t go as a destination, just a place for a quick drink before heading to the Boar’s Head or Collegian.

Very nice and social place to drink

When we visit Lancaster we make a bee line for the tap house. It offers a lovely relaxed, warm atmosphere, great prices and the staff especially Simon are just so friendly and accommodating. We arrived Friday at 4.30 for one drink and after missing 3 trains home we sampled all the cocktails on the Happy hour. Excellent value for money we have to say. Wish we could have stayed for the band. Definitely worth a visit.

Fantastic atmosphere! People dance, sing, clap, play tambourines! My husband and I had a great time here! Everyone was very nice! I highly recommend this pub!

The "piano sing a long" involved a pianist who did not look at or interact with the audience at all, just self indulgently played to himself. It was also over-amplified, so we left after one drink. Had it been a fun sing a long, we'd probably have made an evening of it.

Small, trendy, friendly staff. Town centre location. Live music this weekend but be warned the pub is small but the amps aren't. Just saying.

Absolutely disgusted to see the bar staff serving a very drunk man , double double shots , over & over , they were asked by his wife not to serve any more & they just laughed & carried on ..... Sat 21st Oct ... If the manager had been in I don't believe this would if happend ....

Apparently this place to have a much better selection but the taps and fridges weren't particularly captivating. Perhaps it's in need of a name change or a some revitalising.

Good, though small, selection of beer but it's as friendly as ever and we were treated to some good music to go with the nice beer.

Nice place and the beer is luxury

We chanced upon this pub on a Saturday afternoon and ended up staying until the evening. The live music (cover bands) was excellent and the place was jumping, with a high level of enthusiastic participation from the audience. We had a great time. The service was very friendly. There was no food served when we were there, so I would say this is a pub, rather than a restaurant.

This USED to be one of the best pubs in Lancaster. I came in this evening, they've absolutely ruined it. All the quirks, great beer and lively atmosphere have been stripped away, what's left is a soul-less overpriced, awful shambles. The 'live' music, is so loud you can't hold a conversation, the beers are now very basic and every fond memory of what the tap House used to be, crashed and burned faster than the rancid pint I gave up on :(

My twin brother Stephen and I were pub and bar hopping around this part of town when we chanced upon The Tap House and what a great find. A wonderful bar ,interior is traditional, pubby decor and furnishings, an eye catching serving bar, tv's to enjoy the sport and beautifully decked out for Christmas period when we visited, there's also plenty of seating options spread throughout this bar, all in all its a great bar to unwind in. We were here on a Thursday night, bar was surprisingly quiet ,we were greeted with a smile by a very pleasant member of the bar team, we both opted to have Hawkshead Brewery ipa,these were served in excellent condition ,we just kicked back, settled down and enjoyed our ipa's. My ipa was really good, a crisp, well balanced ipa, hints of toffee, a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a slight bitter finish to it, it was just a really refreshing ipa ,so tasty, it was just so good being in such a lovely bar enjoying a quality brew. We really enjoyed our ipa's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting for a first time visit to The Tap House we had a great time. The Tap House is easy to locate along Gage Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday, 4pm till 11pm. Friday & Saturday, Midday till 1am. Sunday, 4pm till 11pm. A wonderful bar,one I highly recommend you visit if you're in the area or planning to visit Lancaster.

Live music was my intention and inspiration but sadly it was not to be. Happily I came across fabulous bar staff and a warm and friendly atmosphere. No hesitation in writing this review to recommend for a visit

The Tap House on Cage street is a superb beer bar in Lancaster that offers a superb range of food and drinks and is a fantastic bar to relax and unwind. Housed in a period building'the Tap House has an excellent modern interior with many interesting fixtures and features and great seating options throughout the bar interior and to top it off knowledgeable staff. When we visited it was lashing down so this bar was a welcome sight and on our trip to here we had a IPA beers from the fantastic Hawkshead brewery which where fantastic and for a craft beer bar well priced. This is a brilliant beer bar and is so easy to find from Common Garden street bus stop its a short walk.(This is my first review of the Tap House). Opening Hours. Monday-Thursday-16.00-23.00. Friday-Saturday-12.00-01.00. Sunday-16.00-23.00. Nearest Bus Stop. Common Garden street bus stop.

Good beer, great service, live music, what's not to like

Awful. Last went here during lockdown when the dopey barmaid forgot I was in the pub despite the fact that there was only 2 other people there. A bloke sat at the bar with a laptop who was clearly involved in the running of the pub totally ignored me. I left, swore I wouldn't go back. Sadly I made the mistake of going back to find the same duo in charge. Served an overpriced awful vinegar smelling pint which was undrinkable. Choice of beer was pathetic. Avoid.

Average pub, nothing bad about the place or particularly good, friendly barman however. Not sure the name tap house is justified had 2 real ales on when I visited and a selection of the usual macro brewery keg beers.

Popped in for a drink after shopping. Made really welcome. Staff really friendly and helpful. Extensive drink menu. I have walked past this pub so many times and never been in until today. Will definitely visit again soon.

I cane here with my husband on Thursday and had a great time One way system with hand sanitizer at entry and exit points Shower curtains to separate areas and good spacing of tables, felt safe Friendly staff that were chatty and and happy to serve but kept their distance. Fill in track and trace at the table with a questionnaire, took 30 seconds to complete Reusable menus - very safe Glass of wine £4.90 - very reasonable!! Old owners charged more and the wine is very nice Draughts in between £3.60 and £4.20 Husband tried to order a drink and they were honest that it wasnt quite what he wanted as the supplier had given them something a bit different but were honest and he was happy enough. They focus now more on gins and other spirits since the takeover rather than ales so its hit and miss what people want. There are more gins here now than ever before so for gin lovers this is a positive. £5 a cocktail and £9 for two so a good deal. Its card only at the moment but fully understand and happy with it.

A fab night for a family birthday. Food brilliant. Will definitely go again The kids enjoyed the pool table. Something for everyone whatever age!

Whilst the venue retains its atmosphere and the eclectic range of drinks, what I witnessed when the barmaid made an innocent error was abhorrent. I’ve never seen such a public display of aggressiveness from the Manager. Furthermore, when I asked if she was ‘okay’ she was too scared to even to enter into such conversation for fear of the Manager that was stood uncomfortably behind her. We, and my friends, will NEVER, be here again under this establishment.

We've been coming to The Tap House for years and this month we popped in for a drink in-between the tedious shopping!! We only visited half a dozen times last year as we are not local but on this visit as soon as we walked in it smelt like smoking was allowed! Realised very shortly after that the staff smoke at the back door which they leave open....presumably so they can see/sense if any customers are at the bar. Unfortunately the smell was majorly permeating right thru the pub and so as non smokers we didn't want to sit thru that for another drink or two as it was very strong.....so left after just the one drink. Shame! Not saying staff are not entitled to a smoking break but with the door open it's really doing very little to avoid the smell coming in.

Not been here in a couple of years but it's changed a lot. Beer range was dull and most of it was just big national brands, pretty sure there was no fruit machine before but it's in centre stage now. Music was also not as cool as before. It was quiet. Still looks great but it's just not what it was.

Visited the tap house as part of Lancaster Music Festival. My friend and i were Shouted out aggressively (by who i presume was the landlord) for entering the disabled toilet to change my baby who had been sick over me. It had no baby changing facilities, was dirty and used as a store room!i had to change my son on a dirty floor. I would not recommend!!

Oh dear, what has happened to one of the best pubs in Lancaster? I’ve enjoyed drinking frequently in the Tap House since it opened but the changes over the last couple of months have robbed this once excellent bar of all its sole and character. Gone are the interesting drinks to replaced with Carling and Budweiser - now an absolutely generic, over loud, poorly lit joke of a place. Never again for me.

Consistently average. Nothing wrong with that. Beer good quality, yet choice of beer predictable.

Once the best pub in Lancaster. Now there is a race to the bottom. For ales checkout the accidental brewery or stonewell tap.

I love The Tap House - great variety, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and excellent variety. It's never too busy, or rowdy, and you always get a reliable sort of crowd in the place. I always take my friends from out of town to this place and pick up a half of a local ale to try out - my friends and I have yet to be disappointed by the place and the drinks. Jeremy has been an asset to the place, however, I understand that he is no longer the manager? I could be wrong here. I do hope that the pub manages to maintain this standard that Jeremy and his staff have created. They made the place feel like a local, independent little pub even when it wasn't.

Great little corner house pub with some beers that aren't normally found in the area. Close to the Borough which also has some very quaffable ales.

Lovely little place, good beer and service

This very popular place in Lancaster was my first visit. K own for specialty beers and brick oven pizza, it was a hit with our large party. Everyone could order what they wanted from salad to tacos. I had a wonderful shrimp po’boy. It was crispy and very flavorful. Will look forward to returning to this restaurant.

If you like paying £7 for a session IPA this is the place for you. Not me. Try the Stonewell Tap instead. 5 min walk away from this expensive pub.

Great bar. Pleasant staff. We got in before it got busy and managed to get seats. Had a couple of drinks before moving on. The bar staff were very friendly and chatty. If was funny as they said they hadn’t seen many people during the day due to the sun being out. I think lots of people were at the river side or by the canal. Nice clean pub too.

A lot of my University friends spend quite a bit of time here. It's a pub for the academic sort, it seems. Well kept beer, if a little repetitive in selection. Few, if any, generic beer choices. Music is often too loud or too quiet and nearly always a bit weird. I don't think there's any food available and that's a good thing.
