Bit of dad and lad time on penners. From arriving to leaving can not fault the place. Adam very helpful. Looks like a well run place and will no doubt get better as nature matures. Will definitely be back up at clearwater.

Awesome place caught 7 Carp with 3 20's to a 27lb.3oz Ghost Carp on my 1st session. The staff and baliffes are super helpful with advice and anything you need. One of the baliffes Adam even waded out in the water to pull out a patch of redes that were making it diffricult to land fish in the swim when I asked him and even brought around a replacement landing net when there was a problem with one of the landing nets in the swim. Thank you very much Adam much appreciated mate!!!!! The toilets and shower are clean and well maintained and the lakes and pegs are also well looked after. I will definately be coming back again soon. Thank you very much!!!!!

Was excited to try this new place , me and my brother fished Kents bank for pike 8am -5 well just before 5 when the gate was closing , not even a bite between 5 rods , was told I can't fish the keer lake, really disappointed in coming here , but will try again.

It's well kept, clean toilets and pegs (bring a mallet BTW!) in nice surroundings. The wind can pick up as it's so open and the noise from the M6 gripes a little. It’s a busy place so fishing can be pretty tough as you’d expect, oh and the bird life are a pain in the ar*e, especially the swans 😁

Fantastic facilities in which are set in a beautiful location, shower and toilet + shop all on site. I am more of a novice angler and I have not catched as of yet however a more all rounded angler would probably catch in either lake. The fire pit was brilliant never experienced anything like it, all anglers socially having a bond and crack from all over the country was my highlight and I'll never forget it. I look forward to returning to this great complex, the lads are doing a smashing job.

Everything is good just could do with the pathway for cars levelling out a little bit and would be nice if you could book a peg instead of just whats available.

The venue and settings are stunning apart from the constant noise from the M6 but the fishing is very very poor you probably need a good week of overnighters to catch in what aparantly is a runs water....

Very well run fishery and well kept.. sensible rules and prices ..swims are well spaced out.. unhooking matts ,weigh slings,and landing nets all provided.. with markers to fish to on some lakes .. a good variety of waters from day ticket to a syndicate lake...an on site cafe tackle shop car parking..otter fenced all in all a fishery to rival most...

Superb facility well worth a trip

not been here for over a year but a few changes. counter now moved nearer to entrance which provides more space and seating and menu seems to be more extensive...not just sandwiches and small mealsmy wife had the roast dinner and i opted for what i thought would be a small jacket potato with chili. both meals excellent and mine was a larger portion than expected. i just finished it!! but i was determined as it was good.lovely views and look forward to eating here in spring and summer

Environment very nice. Unfortunately my party did not rate the food highly. Portions of veg/peas was not very generous. Mushy peas tasted like tinned ones, not freshly made. I would not call it so much a bistro but more lakeside cafe. We will not be visiting again.

I visited the cafe in Dec with a friend and our young children. I found Summer and Ashley the waitresses very friendly and attentive. The food was good quality and arrived promptly, there were a few regulars in at the time which I always take as a sign of a good place! We will be back!

Went for a family Christmas Meal, was excellent nothing too much trouble all food was very well cooked & presented. After meal went for a walk around the grounds which was very enjoyable, could not fault anything

Went for a family meal. I thought by the prices it would be a cut above. Wrong, portions were small, I did not think you could get the teeny dishes that peas came in, about two mouthfuls. Why they put peas/veg in such small containers is beyond comprehension, put a decent portion the plate.scampi not good quality, all batter with a very small piece of fish inside.Burgers were a good size but dry. Chicken burgers fared better.Overall not a good experience, one which I will not recommend to friends

Wend Saturday at 4 fished Sunday at 11 and caught nothing other than a cold

Heard about this place from a friend and have passed it numerous times , so, went for breakfast . I had the light breakfast, one rashers bacon, a sausage, mushrooms, egg and grilled tomato, with a slice of toast. It was served on a warm plate and was delicious. The service was good and the view through the window, on to an outside eating area, and the fishing lake was lovely. There are pictures on the wall which are superb, of the surrounding area ( taken by one of the chefs apparently). The big flags of stone on the floor give this place a lovely feel as you walk in, bringing the outside in. It really is a lovely little place. I was watching the food come out as the lunchtime diners came in, and it looked gorgeous. Definitely will go back for the lunch menu. The only criticism is, we never took off our coats, as I saw some other diners didnt either. It was chilly and that particular day, was bitter. There was a large wood burner, but it wasnt lit.

I went to a function evening @ Clearwater on the 11 October 2019 . The tables had been put together to make two long tables to accommodate us & decorated with bright fresh flowers . The staff were very welcoming & continued throughout the evening to treat us in a friendly efficient manner . Two people arrived who hadn't booked this was dealt with quickly without any fuss . The food which had been chosen beforehand was very good , no complaints were heard . In all an excellent evening . Thank you Clearwater

We called in because it was recommended to us. There is a lovely sitting out area overlooking the lake. Friendly staff and food was very good. Lovely way to spend a leisurely afternoon.

We visited here as a family myself, my wife and my son.A great choice on the menu, we opted for the fish dishes which were faultless. Two battered haddock and a fish finger sandwich (which are homemade). The service was excellent, nothing was to much trouble.I would highly recommend this restaurant.Absolutely beautiful surroundings and food to match. We will definitely be returning.

Fantastic setting but zero confidence in the vegetarian food being served, chips and other 'vege' items fried in same fat as meat products despite being marked on the menu as vegetarian. Parmesan cheese served on vegetarian dishes. I will not be going back.

On holiday and wanted a quiet fish, called in and was welcomed in a very polite and friendly manner. Fished on the small Scrape pond which was what I wanted, uncomplicated simple leisure fish. Wife came to bring lunch, called in on arrival and was treated politely and welcomed on site to join me. A real pleasure and privilege to be treated in this way. Cafe was spotleds clean, great coffee and was doing a good trade. Thanks Clear Water Fisheries, I suggest anyone in the area come and give it a try, great customer service.

Spent a pleasant couple of hours sat outside chatting with a friend. The staff were pleasant enough. The menu was quite good but on the expensive side. I was quite disappointed with the quality of the food, I had a cheese sandwich, the cheese was sparse and grated, which is fine if there's plenty on it, there wasn't. Lovely coffee. On the whole, a nice visit.

I really enjoyed fishing there really good staff breakfast delivered and cooked perfectly there keen to help unfortunately didn't catch because there spanning again as soon as we found out we packed up and they have closed the pegs where they spawning we will definitely making this are un local local it's the best place I've fished in a long time

Recently attended a private BBQ at Clearwater Fisheries. The venue has been given a makeover since my last visit and the dining room layout been altered. It was a warm evening although we eat indoors as it was a little windy.

I had bought a voucher for an afternoon tea with prosecco for 2 via Groupon for my husband's birthday. It was advertised as being worth £29.90. When it arrived, the tea consisted of 1 sandwich each (1/2 ham & tomato, 1/2 tuna mayo), 1 thin slice of lemon cake cut in half, 1 small caramel slice cut in half, 1 small jam & cream doughnut each and half a scone each with jam and cream. The prosecco was nice and there was a choice of a pot of tea or a cup of coffee. It was ok for what I had paid but certainly not worth what it had been advertised at. First impressions count and I just felt that this had been pared to the bone in order to satisfy online purchasers, as afternoon tea does not feature on their menus and it had to be booked at least 24 hours in advance! This experience did not leave me with a desire to return anytime soon, which is a shame as the restaurant is comfortable in a lovely setting.

We visited for a late lunch as we were staying nearby in The Jackdaw Lodges. It was lovely. We all opted for various sandwiches with coleslaw, salad and skinny fries along with a bottle of lager or glass of wine. We sat outside and it was lovely and picturesque. The food tasted great and the staff were lovely. One even took a cheeky selfie when taking a picture of us (which we saw later and found hilarious) it was roughly about £15.00 each which we thought was very reasonable. It was worth the visit and will most definitely be back. Thankyou.

Stupid really, had 2 different 24 hour sessions on the Kent’s bank lake due to that being the only lake available with 6 of us all having 2 rods each, not one bite in 48 hours? Ridiculous.. won’t be going back here again, Clearwater killed the fishery for the locals!!

Went last Saturday for lunch. It had been refurbished since we last went and what a difference. Just love this place, the atmosphere, friendly staff and food all excellent. Very good value for money. Can't wait to go back

Great place clean tidy and good staff

Information is misleading, website states open 7.30am so set off from Manchester to arrive for opening. Gates shut until 8.30, stated fishing times 9 until 9 we get to lake only 2 pegs free ask what time they will be leaving and told 12pm so that's a 4 hour wait if you want one of their swims. States cafe on site doesn't tell you that it's shut until new year, luckily quick search on internet turned up an excellent Chinese that delivered Redluck well worth it fast and food was lovely. Fishing wasn't good didn't see or hear any movement at all, peg numbers don't match the map depths seem to be inaccurate this makes it difficult to find the deeper water as I would be looking for at this time of year any how's don't always expect to catch. Pegs are very Rocky very hard to get your pegs to hold and you need a hammer ended up collecting rocks to hold one side of bivvy down as pegs just would not hold. Shane really as it looks good on a positive they have the best anglers toilet I have ever been in.

We booked in for breakfast had a full breakfast which was the best breakfast I’ve tasted around this area so far, the eggs were cooked perfectly everything was spot on , my daughter had eggs Benedict which she said she could just eat another one as it was so nice... the views are amazing the food is spectacular the coffee was good quality, my only complaint was the miserable front of house women who served us small mousey looks , you need to smile when you serve and stop gossiping when your serving it’s rude, it’s a shame your front of house staff aren’t on parr with your food or learnt how to wait on properly we will back but next time please if you can’t be bothered to be polite stay at home manners don’t cost anything.

We regularly come to the café, myself and my wife booked a Christmas dinner we had turkey with all the trimmings, the food was amazing the veg was unlike I had ever tasted coated in a herb dressing just made them taste beautifully fresh and cooked perfectly. Our pudding was homemade sticky toffee pudding which was the best pudding I can remember tasting and the chef even found the time to come and talk to us about the fisheries made us feel very welcome indeed we would recommend to anybody.

This place has set me back some what, after having a different cook every five minutes, you have finally found one that can cook. I had an amazing soup that wouldn't of being out of place in a five star restaurant followed by the best Sunday dinner I have ever tasted I am definitely looking forward to your new menu and evening service most certainly a massive improvement keep it up and we will be back.

Lovely little gem with good food and great views across the lake

We popped in for lunch today and are so pleased we did. Sheila, who served us was lovely and made us feel at home straight away. There was a good choice on the menu and several specials to choose from. All three of us enjoyed our meals which were freshly prepared and served with a smile. One highlight was the homemade ice-cream served with a chocolate brownie ...mouth-watering! If you are in the area this is definitely a place to try out. An added bonus is that dogs are welcome on the sheltered veranda which overlooks the fishing lakes.

Had lunch here , but the weather was not kind and we couldn't appreciate the views, but the food was good, hot and tasty .

Joined some friends for breakfast and really enjoyed the meal. Plenty of food and a satisfying full English breakfast. A little pricey at £12 but I don’t have a cooked breakfast very often unless staying in a hotel.

What an awsome place. Loads of parking. super fishing pools with great friendly helpfull baliffs who cant do enough for you. Super nice food in the on site bistro. Scenery loverly my family loved every minute of our break. 4 days are not enough.

Again Clear water exceeded expectations, having called for breakfast today which we have done many times this year and last, I asked with a little bit of cheak if as we are moving Friday and everything was packed up in box's if they by any chance could do us a take away around 1600 hrs today. They said yes of their fisherman's take out manu, not a problem, after we ordered the man with the beard who (name I have forgotten sorry) said he could drop it off on his way home, thank you for that. It arrived as promised and we all agree that that is the best take out food in Carnforth, hot look great and tastes great. Well done and thank ,,,, can you come with us when we move??? ABSOLUTE worst fishing I've ever experienced...all the fish have clearly been removed and put in to the largest make...had experienced fishermen either side of me and they too were very unimpressed...no fish activity at all on the lake in 6 hours..ok taking your money...but won't be taking it twice ,and I will be telling people to stay way clear.......water. POOR...and not too impressed with attitude of the badly chap

Latte and cappucino excellent this afternoon as was the scone, warmed with butter and jam. Sat out on the deck under sunshade with lovely views over the fishing lakes. Staff very pleasant too.

Since acquiring our nearby holiday home, we have visited the bistro on a few occasions, taking friends & family along with us. Each visit is met with gasps of appreciation at the setting.

Went for lunch during the week. Had two sandwiches and a bowl of soup... all tasted nice and fresh. Limited menu, but very nice food. Reasonable price too.

This is a lovely little lakeside cafe that, for the most part, is pretty good. The menu is simple but good, and especially the fish and chips was really good. We visited midweek, and based on that, decided to book for the Sunday which was promised to be fantastic. The food was good but it was disappointing to not have everything on the limited menu available on a busy Sunday. A limited menu needs to be a well-stocked menu. Nonetheless, the service was efficient and friendly, and on a sunny summer's day, it was a lovely day out.

This was the first time we have dined here since it changed hands, I think in the past it was called "Catch 21", to be honest I was a little bit apprehensive, with it having new owners and most likely a new chef, as we had always enjoyed the food before the restaurant closed down. My fears were unfounded as both the meals my wife and I had was delicious, the staff were pleasant and friendly, I will definitely give it another visit next time I am in the area.

Visited with friend for lunch and very pleased with our choice. Food freshly cooked and very appetising I had lasagne and my friend a jacket potato with garlic mushrooms. Excellent waitress service from Sarah and a thoroughly enjoyable outing.

Lovely food and great service. Ate outside on the sun deck, great to watch the wildlife while eating fantastic food.

Outside seating overlooking the lake which is dog friendly. Chicken burger on brioche with fries was excellent. Limited wine selection but the Spanish white was very good. Can't wait to try their fresh fish and chips.

After reading the menu available on line, we called in for lunch. How disappointing to find the menu was extremely limited on the day we chose, Tuesday. Nothing we had read on line was being served that day, . It seems Mondays and Tuesdays operate with a very reduced menu. This was not mentioned on line. Had we known this, we would have eaten elsewhere. We were expecting more choice than sandwiches, soup or jacket potatoes to be available. Don't go on a Monday or Tuesday.
