It's not often a pub chef takes the time to create tasty vegetarian dishes but here's one who does. Coupled with a friendly front of house team, here you have the perfect menu for success. It's great value, too, as it's no more pricey than many grim chain pubs. But here even the bill won't give you indigestion!

This was such an enjoyable treat. Unfortunately they had sold out of most pastries except for croissants and a pecan brownie by the time I got there. We opted for hot chocolate: so rich and lovely, not too sweet, which I like. The croissants are perfectly light and flakey. I highly recommend this tucked away bakery. The Pump Street Chocolate Shop across the road is connected to the bakery and rovides the basis of the hot chocolate. This is certainly worth a return trip but get there early before everything is sold out (just, not before us).

A very friendly welcome from Steve, he lit a fire & allowed us to dine in the bar by it on a very chilly day which was most thoughtful. The food was amazing, table for 7 on Saturday lunchtime all served together and deliciously good, generous portions. The board games, play area & donkey’s an added bonus. Highly recommend especially for the cozy & traditional atmosphere, coupled with the quality of good food & service make this a must visit

Weekend for my birthday . I had scallops on bed of leeks and lemon sauce with a hint of chilli - fantastic . My wife had salmon pate equally good Main course (which we swapped round half way) Monkfish parcels in a light batter with mushroom pappardelle- delicious . My wife had a tomato based fish stew which again was fabulous . Nice little restaurant well worth a visit and great value !

We are visiting the area and were looking for a nice cosy pub that also served food and The Fox Inn did not disappoint. We booked a table for 4 as we had family joining us and were accommodated without trouble. The service was excellent from all staff that we encountered. The food was perfect - Full of flavour, nice and hot, ample portion size and cooked to perfection. We all thoroughly enjoyed our choices. So much so that 2 of us returned today for our last meal out before returning home. The food and the service were as good as our previous visit earlier in the week. The pub is a real gem. We both mentioned that we’d be more than happy if this were our local. Carry on with what you’re doing, as you’ve got it spot on!

Awesome place. A good choice of ice cream but not so overwhelming to make it difficult to decide. Nice cakes (not too much in the way of gluten free options if you need that) and some decent looking savoury food. Turkish delight milkshake is fantastic.

What a find, a traditional English pub with the perfect welcoming ambiance. Great selection of local beers and a proper home cooked Sunday lunch. Great menu with loads of local produce, cooked perfectly and delivered to your table with a smile..

Let's start with the positive comments first. They do not allow dogs in the cafe. I agree as dogs do not belong in a place where people eat. The coffee was nice and the location is lovely. Sadly the paintwork inside is shabby and needs re- painting, there was water running down the inside of the windows, the cake selection is dire and the place is run by squealing teenage girls who like to talk about their business quite loudly over the irritating music from radio 1. This is not a relaxing place at all and leaves a lot to be desired.

A bit less pretentious and showy than places in the square but good basic fare at reasonable prices. Great coffee. Bacon roll is colossal. Fab doughnuts. Can't really understand the reviews that say the staff are poorly trained or unfriendly. They aren't gushy or have-a-nice-day ish but I go in regularly and find them welcoming and helpful. Very good WiFi as well.
