A bit less pretentious and showy than places in the square but good basic fare at reasonable prices. Great coffee. Bacon roll is colossal. Fab doughnuts. Can't really understand the reviews that say the staff are poorly trained or unfriendly. They aren't gushy or have-a-nice-day ish but I go in regularly and find them welcoming and helpful. Very good WiFi as well.

No longer cycle friendly as no place to store bikes. Notice now asks for them to be stored across the street which is clearly unsuitable. Sadly had to ride past and find a more suitable cafe in the town square.

Small Framlingham Bakery and cafe but the young untrained staff continue to be unfriendly and lack customer service skills. The whole cafe area could do with a deep clean and the cheap tea bag was weak and overpriced. Better more friendly places in Fram to visit.

We'd heard good things about this 'artisan bakery' so decided to give it a go, and opted for a chocolate éclair and an apple turnover with cream (£2.80 each, to go). The first thing we realised is the weight; these certainly were heavier than anticipated. But, they looked good, so now to taste... The éclair choux pastry was crispy but let down by waxy cream filling and bland chocolate topping. There was little sweetness to this cake. Thr apple turnover was truly awful: pastry - which should be light, flaky and sweet - was thick and soggy - we found it inedible! The cream filling was waxy and the apple tartan and meagre. We couldn't eat it. We were looking forward to some sweet treats, so were hugely disappointed. Take a look at the pics and make your own mind up. We won't be visiting again!

Would not go back here. Bought what was advertised as a sour dough loaf. White bloomer more like. No way was it a sour dough loaf. Live an hour away so cannot exactly take it back

We needed a little break during our morning walk and 221b was firmly in our sights. Lovely staff, cakes and hot drinks too.

My wife and I visited 221b on the strength of the reviews regarding Gluten Free options (she has Coeliac Disease). Upon entering the premises we spoke to the young lad behind the counter about their Gluten Free options and were informed that the cakes on the end tray (about 3) were all they had. He also said they did not do Gluten Free bread or have any savoury Gluten Free food. This was a disappointment to us given their comments in their website. We left 221b and found solace at the nearby Crown Hotel who had no problems with Gluten Free food.

Nice food but the young staff could do with a bit more customer service training. Sausage rolls were nice and eclair was delicious; I just thought the girl that served us lacked a bit of friendly enthusiasm. Minimal effort to make you feel welcome when you’re spending money at the establishment. Quite expensive too.

I am always surprised at how busy this place is. And I just don’t understand why- the staff are always rude, the prices are quite expensive & the food is just average. There are much better places to eat from in Framlingham perhaps if the owners read this review they will provide better training for their team. If there is a queue going out the door and one person serving, whilst numerous (again always shocks me just how many people work here) are talking or just looking aimlessly at the coffee machines- get on with getting that queue down!

Called in here for coffee and cake after a bad experience at the Crown hotel. We had a warm welcome from the friendly sweet young waiter and enjoyed hot drinks with amazing gluten free muffins. I wish we had spotted this place earlier as I feel we would have had a nicer meal than the one we had up the hill. Definitely one to return to as we are not too far away.

Food was fairly good and coffee was excellent. We sat outside and the view is nothing special. .. they were very busy the second time with long queue outside so we aborted and went elsewhere. In fairness the fact they were so busy speaks for itself. I would give them a Good rather than average.

My wife and I called in for lunch. Our first visit. Greeted by very friendly staff. Wonderful choice of hot and cold snacks. I opted for a sausage and bacon bap and my wife had a bacon bap. We had a pot of tea and a coffee. Couldn’t believe the size of the baps (tea plate size) and generously filled. Truly a substantial lunch and cooked to perfection. Coffee and tea excellent. £12 total bill, great value for money. What a find. We will be back thank you. Mick & Margaret

Called in to kill some time as it was raining, so we had to delay the start of our walk. Had a hot chocolate but it was quite average. Saturday staff were schoolgirls who were pretty useless. Took a while for drinks to be brough over (and some of our party were waiting a long time), plus the waitress managed to spill some of my drink when she put it down (she did put this right).

Hmm mixed views re this place. Stopped in here to have coffee and cakes recently and none of us thought much of our cakes at all. We all had different ones from muffins, eclairs etc. yesterday we also purchased bread to take home and that was really lovely, so that gets a thumbs up.

Visited this cafe and had a very good experience. You can sit inside or outside, the choice of food is good and the prices are very reasonable. The staff are friendly and charming and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Very efficient, thank you!

Popped in at the end of a day after a Saturday in Framlingham. Still had a good selection of cakes. Coffee was good, happy to do a cold milk for the fussy 5 yr old, you’ll be surprised at the number of places this is a problem for! Main fella serving real friendly, pulling over an additional table for us.

Whilst the cakes were really excellent - again the hot drinks - Flat White and Tea etc showed a definite training issue with the young lady on the Hot Drinks. The take-away tea cup was filled to overflowing that it burnt us as the lid would not fit properly and the top of the cup disintegrated though contact with the hot water ? Not fit for purpose ?The Flat White cup was only half full and also was just a very milky coffee and not strong at all ?Training required for some Barista's perhaps ??

A problem with my order, but responded to appropriately and immediately. Also a good selection of traditional English bakery products.

Arrived yesterday on cycles desperate for a fuel and food stop only to find that I had forgotten to bring my Mask.This is a big thank you to the wonderful young lady at the till who very kindly gave me a mask so I could order lovely coffee's and cake to get us back to Ipswich.

Our first visit here & just stopped for a quick coffee. The staff were friendly & the cafe was warm & welcoming. Bakery food looked very tempting & menu prices were very reasonable for lunch. Great coffee. Very popular &easy to see why.

Exceptional lunch. Have been here a number of times over the last year & it’s never fails to be anything other than excellent. The bread products are produced on site & can be prepared as an ear in option or takeaway. Prices are very good & food is brilliant - fresh and filling. My husband has the breakfast bap & I love their cheese & caremalised onion chutney toasted paninis which are huge. Thank you so much.

After a walk round the castle and then the town by the time we reached here, we needed a break. Friendly staff, good coffee and reasonably sized portions of very nice cake, would visit again if in area.

We ate here a couple of years ago which was OK - but yesterday's visit was let down by the food. The sausage roll was returned as the meat was really undercooked, the helpful staff member agreed. Also the apple turnover was disappointing too, the pastry Base was raw. However, the chicken mayo roll was very good and my husband enjoyed it. I'm afraid we didn't have a good experience which is a shame.

As stated in the title 'Shame'. Visited the castle and because of the quirky name, we made a point of popping in. The three girls serving were all friendly and relaxed, but then again there was only two customers when we walked in. Drinks and pastries were lovely. Unfortunately the place was a mess. Napkins and food strewn across the floor, with neither girl looking to tidy up. Chairs just needed straightening back up. You know, the basics. And get a fly zapper or something. Could easily spot at least 5 just around the sofa area. Oh yeah, your fridge needs fixing too. Hopefully if we are in the area again we will see that these points will have been taken on board positively.

I have been to this bakery twice in one week, for a loaf of wholemeal bread and have been told on both occasions that they had not baked wholemeal that day. Not pleased with this lack of service.

We visit a lot and it's always good. The large bapwith sausage, bacon and egg is delicious as are the panini. And the fresh cream doughnut, words fail me.....

Came here today for a cappucino and had to wait 30 mins. Shocking service. As I walked in staff were arguing. Definitely won’t be coming here again. Had the chicken, mozzarella and pesto baguette - bland tasting and fairly dry. Not a special place by any stretch of the imagination.

Brief lunch visit, the panini and coffee were very good, however, the customer service was exceptional, staff seemed happy and polite, offering menu recommendations and a very prompt, friendly service.

On holiday in local area and found this bakery whilst visiting Framlingham Castle. This is the best bakery I’ve ever been to. Wide variety of lovely cream cakes. It was a struggle to choose what to have. Really reasonable prices and staff were really friendly. It was a real treat and wish I could visit again.

Stopped off on a Saturday morning for a breakfast. Had a scrambled egg on toast which was absolutely delicious. Also had a caramel lattee which again was lovely, not too sweet. Will defiantly visit again & recommend to others. Good price & fantastic portions.

Had lunch here today and was so impressed with the staff and the quality of the food. The bread is baked fresh everyday and my mum had the gluten free bread and she said it was the best she’s ever tased. I had a dairy free smoked salmon sandwich and they were very good with making and adapting whatever sandwich or salad you wanted. The cakes and biscuits looked amazing and I was so amazed that there was 5 options for dairy and gluten free cakes. I had a df & gf blueberry muffin and it tasted so good. Not forgetting to mention that it was very very reasonably priced and I did not expect food at that price to taste so fantastic.

Used this a few times as a bike stopover and each time it’s been lovely. Excellent flat white and gorgeous carrot cake. The other cakes look delicious too. Looking forward to sampling them all. The staff are really helpful and always offer to top up our drinks bottles prior to cycling off. One of my favourite Suffolk cafes!

Stopped by £14 great value 2 salads prawn and tuna mayo with croutons and salad dressing plenty of napkins sausage roll pot of tea and sanpelligrino nice bowls relaxed clean pig style bar bench.

This small but very busy cafe/ food shop sells the largest and tastiest cream apple turnovers I’ve had in a long time!!

Great location, friendly staff, good outdoor seating and a simple but good menu. The breakfast baps are first class and great value. We often take a selection of cakes to share with our excellent coffees and teas.

Please remove the vegan options from the classification. On all the times I've visited there have been no vegan options. The staff have been helpful, and haven't had a clue about vegan food.

This is a regular stop for me and I can safely say it never disappoints.

popped into 221b on a cold February day and had a lovely lunch. We got served quickly and tucked into some tasty monster rolls and great cakes add some hot drinks and what more do you want. there were plenty of places to sit and eat and it was a welcome break from the cold

Visited this little cafe early on Christmas Eve. Chose the poached eggs on toast. It was incredible, enough to keep us going all day. Two enormous slices of lovely fresh bread from their own bakery topped with two perfectly poached eggs. The coffee was good too. The cafe has a cosy, rustic feel and the staff are very friendly. Perfect venue for breakfast.

We as Cyclist use this Restaurant/Coffee shop on a regular basis as its one of our favourites. Great coffee, lovely cakes etc. all at a very reasonable price. Staff are excellent, always friendly and efficient. There is good reason why sometimes it gets full, it's very good...

I visit here on my day off and spend the whole week looking forward to my next latte. Lovely chatty friendly staff, great selection of coffee and teas. Delicious food, including bread freshly made on the premises. Fab selection of cakes, it’s way too difficult to choose. I love love love their bacon sandwiches. Freshly baked bread and the bacon is amazing. All locally sourced too. Always a pleasurable visit, thank you all.

When we arrived today at lunchtime it was busy. There was no seating available inside. We were offered blankets to keep us warm while we waited in the small seating area outside. The food I have to say was delicious. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The service was quick and efficient. It seemed some of the customers were in there for the day!

Only stopped for afternoon tea. Service excellent. Cakes wonderful, what a treat. Coffeeboth hot and tasty. Bath bun delightful. Chocolate brownie was crisp and tasty. Muesli bar really nice. I must go back it was really good.

In a town where we found most cafes not to be wheelchair accessible the outside seating and the inside seating was accessible to me as a powerchair user. (There is a car park just around the corner with 2 disabled parking spaces at the bottom that we found to our benefit often seemed overlooked.) Indoor seating was relatively cramped and particularly as we guessed could get very full but when we visited late afternoon we got in ok with my 6 wheel powerchair and were entertained by one of the male staff talking to all the school kids as they visited about what they had learnt in school that day. I had the biggest cream cake (cherry turn over) in the world, really too much for one person. We bought a bag of fruit teacakes as were leaving as they looked so nice but were disappointed with them as we judged them to be nothing special as I had expected them to be. Didn't need a toilet so cannot comment whether there is an accessible loo at this cafe.

A friend and I visited here for a quick, shared, lunch. It is quite small but with adequate seating without being too crowded. I always judge a place as being good if you see local residents using it; 221B fitted this category. We found the selection of food was more than adequate for our needs and at a good price. We ordered a sausage roll and a pulled pork panini along with a cappuccino and decaf Americano. The long sausage roll was delivered immediately and as we began sharing it a lady, I assume from the food preparation area, came to our table and asked if we would like cheese added to our panini? My friend said that it sounded a good idea and, I'm pleased to say, agreed to it. When it was delivered it was, in my opinion, and I have a good appetite, large enough to share, more than adequately filled, very tasty, well prepared and delivered in good time. The staff were well groomed and friendly and will definitely be a place logged for a return visit.

We've got no chilli con carne, we've got no soup, we've got no prawn salad only take away, americano with hot milk, yes but we'll leave the hot milk on the counter, Pinot Grigio, large, medium or small - we've got none will Sauvignon Blanc do. All this at the pace of a snail with three or four girls who seem to concentrate on one customer at a time whilst the others wait. If you stand at one end of the counter nothing happens, move towards the action at the other end and get sent back then someone might serve you. Watch the woman who seems to be in charge she is useless but carries on with an air of authority and an attitude that says 'I know what I'm doing' - she doesn't. The chaos is surrounded with comments like " sorry, we're so busy today" even when the staff were outnumbering the customers. We had walked all the way from the Castle to get to 221b as we'd heard it was good, we passed numerous cafes and pubs, oh how we wished we had diverted. If you value your sanity avoid this place.

Coming back to Framlingham and seeing an incredible transformation to what just used to be 'the bakery'. There has clearly been some hard work put into this place by the owners and its very noticeable. It is a modern family run business where all the staff are welcoming, cheerful and helpful. The food was very good quality and all was reasonably priced. Cant wait to eat here again.

Stopped in for lunch after visiting Framlingham Castle. I definitely recomend this spot for lunch. My wife had the smoked salmon salad and I and our guest had paninis. Everything was on point and the staff was 5 poInt.

Rara vez hacen comentarios de restaurantes una humilde Cafetería. Pero la visita a este establecimiento ha roto esa regla general. Paramos en Framlingham para un descanso en nuestro camino hacia la Broads durante unos días. Café y un aperitivo estaba a la orden del día. Yo tenía mi típico doble espresso y leche caliente y mi esposa tiene una taza de té. Compartimos un donut de mermelada (viendo que el almuerzo era ya ordenados en un pub riverside! ¡Qué fabuloso) café y el té (ninguno fue a mal! ) y el donut era probablemente el mejor que he probado. Cuando pagué me preguntaron sobre los donuts y me dijeron que todo estaba hecho en la cafetería en el lugar. Le dije que estaba tan impresionado - sin escribir una crítica.

Super cakes and friendly service. I had a giant Cherry slice "thing" with loads of cream. It was super. My wife had a gluten free Brownie. (Also lovely.)

Selección de salsas ofrece cuando la orden. Personal encantador, amable, el lugar de un buen buzz, estaba super limpio y luminoso. Una cafetería muy acogedora. Una gran elección por lo pop sin duda de nuevo.

Fuimos aquí recomendado por alguien en el Castillo y ¡GUAU!, un lugar impresionante. Buen servicio y comida de la mejor panadería/bistro que he probado (cerdo desmenuzado roll cob). Primera visita y quedé muy impresionado con la amabilidad del personal y un servicio excelente. El desayuno completo inglés era excelente, así como el café. Una buena selección de deliciosas tartas y pasteles también se ofrecen. Recomiendo encarecidamente los bollos de baño y rosquillas. Sin duda volveremos para otro desayuno pronto.

Came across this place cycling into Framlingham. Met another cyclist who said it was the best place in the town. He may well be right. We got a friendly greeting and first rate service. The food was excellent and the price was value was outstanding.

Can't believe how helpful and friendly the staff are. We visit for lunch about once a month and the staff are always attentive. We always buy a loaf as well as there is always a good selection of bread and some very tempting cakes.

Qué equivocado estaba, un pequeño local, el café era excelente, y tuve una salchicha bap para ir con ella. ¡Era enorme! ! No puedo recomendar lo suficiente. Pero me siento lleno después de una visita aquí. Sandwich café y pastel sobre un 30% más barato que mi cadena favorita y más por tu dinero! Gran selección de comida para llevar. Probablemente la mejor de Framlingham.

Caminamos desde el castillo a tomar un almuerzo ligero. El lugar fue recomendado por una persona en la ciudad. Estaba lleno, así que debe de ser bastante popular. Nuestros sándwiches y bollos de té eran deliciosos. El personal era muy amable. Tuvimos una visita muy agradable con la gente durante el almuerzo.

This is a very friendly bakers with coffee shop attached. Unfortunately, despite being served very quickly by friendly counter staff, our drinks - a cappuccino and a kids hot chocolate took ages. This has happened twice. It was literally 15 mins.

Called in for a pot of tea and also had 2 gluten free Blueberry buns. These were served in the correct manner. The staff were very polite.

Lo que una absoluta delicia para descubrir tal atractivo, luminoso, café contemporáneo en el mercado de la ciudad de Framlingham, sirve comida fresca y bien hecha de un excelente café. Visitar la ciudad para explorar este paisaje urbano encantador seguido de visitas a los viñedos en el campo de los alrededores, las ensaladas que elegimos para comer eran todos recién hechos y encantador, comido en un ambiente iluminado y bien diseñados. Un paseo por el atractivo mercado y hasta y alrededor de Castillo medieval bien conservado de framlingham coronó un excelente almuerzo. Muy recomendable y algo de una joya!!!

Yo no quiero que cada uno apresurándose a este café y comer chocolate todo el crujido, pero no sería sincero recomendaría a otros basados en consonancia todo para mi propia.

Paramos para un café rápido y comer un bocado ayer la hora del almuerzo. Muy concurrida por dentro, pero muchas mesas para sentarse. El personal era muy amable y acogedor. Yo tenía una cornish pasty, que era muy sabroso y las tartas parecía tan buena. También tuve un café Frappe del menú de bebidas de verano, que era una delicia. Recomiendo como un lugar encantador para tomar un café y comer un bocado.
