Cafe 46 in Suffolk Coastal

Cute village cafe with inside/outside seating, plus sandwiches, toasties, breakfast dishes and nice-looking bakes I wished I'd had room to try. Nice people, and nice hot coffee too 🔥🙂☕👍

Stopped off for lunch, usual watering hole when I am in WM. Lovely smoked salmon and avocado sandwich, with great service! Thank you.

I have mixed feelings. Our flat white was only ok and seemed more like a coffee made with hot milk rather than the textured milk you expect, but tasted ok, I suppose. However, what really put me off was observing a young man use his bare hand to get ice out of a bag to put into a jamjar for a customer's iced drink. Yuk. However, staff were friendly and it's a useful place for our rare visits to the village.

Lovely chilled location and very dog friendly.Sadly the food and service doesn't quite match this promise.The tyranny of hot drinks arriving too long before the meal is served so they are bound to be cold seems well established.My sausage ,bacon and scrambled egg breakfast was less than impressive.Rashers burnt,well cheap sausage and quite pricey for what it was.On the plus side.Very friendly staff who gave my canine companion treats

It's lovely sitting outside this cafe and staff bring food out to the tables. They are well able to cater for gluten free and the salad provided with sandwiches is delicious.

My toddler and me on our daily walks and travels he always asks to go here for "cake" even though he doesn't eat all he chooses I had the best Victoria sponge ever tasted and the staff are always friendly and helpful and prices are affordable. The Victoria sponge though absolutely gorgeous 🍰

My absolute favourite morning stop off (and sometimes afternoon - I always end up staying longer than planned!). The cafe is always full of happy voices and laughter, and the cheese scones are undoubtedly the best I’ve had (and I’ve sampled many!). Nicky and team, we love you!

Nicki and her staff are so lovely and there is a wonderful, warm, welcoming vibe. I often pop in for coffee or breakfast and my husband and I sometimes treat ourselves to lunch. I've also often worked there, using the wifi and peaceful atmosphere. It's exactly what a village cafe should be. Lovely home made cakes and sausage rolls too.

I regularly come to cafe 46 to meet friends for breakfast . Always great service, delicious food and drink and a lovely friendly atmosphere . Nothing is too much for Nicky and her team. We love it there .

Stopped off for lunch following a recommendation. Glad we did as it had excellent food, a friendly welcome and cost atmosphere on a chilly autumn day. Recommended.

beautiful sandwich , i also have a dairy allergy and every question i asked they where very helpful in helping me be careful . would happily eat here again , being younger really loved the music choice , food was beautifully plated my sister had a sausage roll and it was delicious, would recommend this cafe and the staff is very sweet and friendly :) 10000000/10

Popped in for brunch Monday. Had a sausage & egg sarnie on gf bread/toast which was nice. However, found extremely noisy as right next to kitchen & not sure which radio station was on but the noise from that was dreadful. Could have eaten outside I suppose & should have done. We're not local so sorry but unlikely to eat there again.

Lovely little and cosy local cafe in the centre of Wickham Market. Always very pleasant staff. Lovely cakes, pastries, and toasties packed with filling. Quite reasonably priced too. Very recommended for locals and those looking for a quick and tasty bite to eat.

Stopped for a cup of tea, a top notch flapjack and a slice of coffee cake while out cycling. Very friendly atmosphere. Would definitely visit again when next in the area.

my friends and I went to this cafe as we were exploring the town. The decorations are really pretty, with a nice bathroom and really nice tea and ice lattes!! Fully recommend :)

Sadly not the same .Cheese served cold tried to cut into ..frozen. Returned x2 not replaced given same scone 3 times. Leaves me to say wont be returning. Back to usual good service at Marlsford for us !!

We only popped in to get a little snack to go but the staff were lovely and funny, and they had an amazing lemon drizzle cake. There was indoor and outdoor seating, if we hadn't needed to get back due to parking we would have stayed and enjoyed the sun.

Would really like to say a Massive Thank You to Cafe 46. Our Christmas meal for 12 of us was cancelled this morning and Niki and her staff bent over backwards to make room for us all and make it a special morning even managing to find a candle for a birthday. My little boy wanted to go here for lunch on his birthday, he had beans on toast and he loved it. I had a tuna melt toastie which was lovely also. Reasonably priced considering that is a locally run cafe.

The location in the very quiet little market town is central and the staff are very friendly. Inside is a bit of a squeeze so it can get a bit hot, however there is some outside seating which if the weather is dry and sunny can be used. Drinks were absolutely fine and whilst we did not have cakes they looked nice. Rather wish we had, as made mistake of opting for sausage / bacon baps. The bread itself was a bit dry and the ratio of filling to bread meant you had far too much bread. Also the filling was over cooked & dry, which made them difficult to eat comfortably. I would not want to dissuade people from going there, just consider menu choices.

Have not been to the cafe since Darren and Sally left so my friend and I called in yesterday. Lovely welcome - we ordered bacon bap and sausage bap which were lovely. The only thing that’s changed is the two lovely ladies behind the counter. We will be back x

Small establishment but tables spaced out and clean toilet. Staff extremely welcoming and helpful. Had a lovely coffee and moist chocolate cake and a sausage roll.

I have had takeaway drinks and cakes from here during covid and thoroughly enjoyed them. However, this evening I booked a pizza online and picked it up for takeaway. Absolutely amazing. One of the best pizzas I've had and certainly blows away the chain takeaways that offer them locally, will certainly be having another few in the future. The man and lad who were on were very friendly and certainly added to the Excellent experience. Highly recommended.

Visiting Wickham Market for the day and decided to give this place a try. Very friendly reception, dog friendly and delicious food. Can recommend the Brie & cranberry toastie. Great little cafe and good value.

Lack lustre food and environment... they don't even put butter in your sausage sarnie. Unfortunately won't be returning.

Lovely cake and coffee, my wife asked to use the toilet only to be told they were out of order. The 3 ladies on the table next to us used them 2 minutes later, an explanation would be appreciated, we didn't want to confront the staff at the time.

I love my weekly trip to Cafe 46 - such nice people! Always have time for a catch up and make you feel welcome. The roasted carrot and parsnip soup is to die for!!!

Cafe 46 is the most delightful place. I visit it at least once a week, often more. Since the pandemic, Darren and Sally have always observed social distancing and made sure that everything is regularly cleaned and sanitised. We treat ourselves to a coffee and a bacon bap every Saturday and get the children some of their delicious home made cake. Service is friendly and helpful and the food is wonderful. The cafe is at the heart of our community and I know that it provides a hub for many. My elderly parents love going there for lunch. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Paid £6 for an egg Mayo sandwich! Uncomfortable and toilets filthy with toilet roll holder almost on the ground so not disability friendly. Table dirty and placed right next to where customers wait to order and pay, so no social distancing.

Lovely, friendly, place. Don't be put off if there are no parking spaces opposite - There's a big Car Park with a concealed entrance nearby.

Lovely spot, not the cheapest food but very good. Had tomato soup (with 2 chunks of nice bread) and cheese & mushroom quiche, which along with a latte came to about £13.

In this small village in rural Suffolk - you will find this lovely and lively cafe. As I approached, the streets looked deserted. However, evey one must have been in this cafe. It was almost full - including outside seating!The food was made fresh. Wifi available. I had a sandwich and tea for one (which stretched to 3 cups). All food looked to be home made.A lovely country tea- house feel.I would happily return.

This is a proper cafe, very pleasant inside with a wide range of food.We dropped in for coffee which was good, and tempted to have a giant sausage roll which was excellent.The service was good.Only minor complaint the outside seating could be made more attractive.

We stopped off in the tiny village of Wickham Market one week day morning recently for a cuppa and snack. We ordered at the counter and had a friendly banter with the lady and gentleman whom we assumed own this nice little establishment.We then installed ourselves at one of the tables outside across from the car park in the "square" and a little while later our assorted coffees and warm sausage rolls were brought out to us. This is certainly a nice little place and different from the usual chains of coffee shops that plague England nowadays. But beware when you use the little boys room. There is a disconcerting collection of photos of presumably happy customers who stare at you as you sit on the little throne there... :-)

Busy friendly little cafe serving cooked breakfasts and lunchtime soup, sandwiches, quiche etc. Food varied and good. Staff friendly. There is a spacious outside seating area. The coffee is very good.

We made a bee-line for Cafe 46 on our recent visit to the area after discovering this cute coffee shop the last time we were in Suffolk. Looking over the central square in pretty Wickham Market, the cafe is just as lovely inside, with big rustic wooden tables and a vase of spring flowers on each. There is a wide choice of cakes (the brownie was squidgy and delicious), great coffee and the owners were really warm and welcoming. Prices seem reasonable for a family-run coffee shop and the cafe is open til 5pm, a real bonus as many places seem to close earlier. Although we probably won't have a specific reason to be in Wickham Market next time we're in the area, we will definitely make a detour for coffee and cake here.
