Friendly service. The pint of Shipyard did not taste as good as I've previously tasted. The bar area was busy and due to all the hard surfaces the acoustics of this cold room made it quite loud. There are two further rooms behind this first, one having tv/sport and pool table.

Happened upon this delightful Inn when out for a walk with friends. Haven't been to the area before and don't usually have a Sunday lunch, but was tempted by the friendly atmosphere and quiet ambiance of the place. The four of decided lunch it would be and two vegetarian option, a roast beef and a pork later and we were all stuffed and surprised at the quality. "A real home cooked Sunday roast'. Thanks you the staff that day from 4 very happy passers by.

Four of us were visiting Framlingham castle on Sunday 24th October and we stumbled across the Railway Inn looking for lunch. They were offering an excellent Sunday roast with a choice of meats, we all had the beef and it was really good. The vegetables were super fresh and the service first class. We all had a pudding from their very traditional choices and they were really nice. A two course meal for £15 per person was superb value and they really deserve to do well. We will certainly re-visit when we are next in the area.

Not expecting much during partial lockdown, hence only garden seats on a cold weekend. Probably wouldn't have been good either, except for... 1: nicely laid out garden 2: beer hut in the beer garden so the table service was fast 3: (and most importantly) staff who were so welcoming and attentive outside despite that they must have been feeling the cold! ...well done for opening, and congratulations on creating such a nice place in these adverse times - you deserve more customers for the efforts you've put in.

Popped in the the Railway Inn to see if they had room for two for a late lunch. Right from the go get, the hospitality was amiable and attentive. You really got the impression that the young couple running the place were hard working, committed and had hospitality experience. The Sunday lunch menu was succinct, which was actually refreshing as this clearly is a drinking pub first, with a wide range of beers and guest beers. The roast dinner came up fresh, piping hot and plenty of it. There were lots of vegetables and they were perfectly cooked. It was a great value two course Sunday lunch and we left replete. The one thing that really made it for me was the lovely, friendly, attentive staff and the locals around the bar, who clearly frequent this pub because it has such a nice atmosphere and is well fun. The pub was also very dog friendly, which really helped us. Decor simple, rustic and clean and tidy. Really enjoyed the experience and hope to come back one day. Thank you Railway Inn.

We booked a table for Sunday lunch at the Railway Inn as we were heading home from a weekend away via Framlingham. We had a choice of three roasts or standard menu and we all selected the roast beef. We ate on a Monday based on a recommendation from a friend. We were two couples, and despite arriving rather early for our reservation we were warmly welcomed by a very pleasant lady and shown to our table. The Railway is one of those unpretentious town pubs that does the most delicious food and provides excellent service in a quiet, efficient way. It's an Adnams house, by the way, the the men thoroughly enjoyed their pints of Ghost Ship. Our meals arrived promptly and were beautifully presented. Between us we had fish and chips (excellent), steak and ale pie (5-star!) and a chicken and bacon salad (10/10). Absolutely no complaints about anything - all delicious, hot and tasty, and sensibly priced. The pub quickly filled up with other couples lunching, so it's reputation really is well-deserved. Highly recommended.

We were on holiday recently close to Framlingham, the first time in the area. As a powerchair user requiring flat access I found the majority of the places in the area inaccessible. After having to leave without getting into another pub I approached the Railway with not much hope but a lovely customer sat outside must have overheard me and shouted to me to come down the side, he opened the door for me and directed me into the Snug. Job done. Lovely staff who served my husband (who uses a white cane) and myself at our table without having to move, our drinks as well as food. This made us feel very welcome. We loved the ""proper pub" feel and pub menu rather than a pub being a restaurant as so often happens. We both chose the bubble and squeak, one with sausages and one with ham. Thickest ham we have ever had, sausages were lovely and bubble and squeak excellent. We would have loved to try the puds but we were full. By the standards we are use to meals weren't particularly cheap (probably reflected local prices) but we thought we had had good value as the quality was excellent. Sorry didn't need the loos so can't comment as to whether they were accessible. As I had parked on a town centre car park didn't pay too much attention to parking, don't think there is any disabled parking as such and if parked in the town it is a bit out but worth the walk/wheel. Would definitely go again when in Framlingham.

Myself and a few friends popped in for a meal on a Saturday night. I was fully aware it was 8.20 and they stopped serving food at 8.30 and explained that if it was a problem then we would eat else where as there were a couple of other tables and a hen do in the other room. The red head barmaid came across annoyed that we had walked in and went to ask the head chef (even though we arrived before they stopped serving food) if it was okay to eat here. The head chef kindly agreed to cater for us. After being seated we ordered our drinks and food as quickly as possible. Sadly, we overheard the barmaid talking about our group to the people sitting on the stools around the bar and we were made to feel uncomfortable and a burden. However, the food was delicious, the portions were generous and we were even greeted by the landlords dog.

We live locally and visit from time to time, but once a year we go to The Railway with friends from afar who come to visit, although originally from the town too. They all agreed the food has improved since they were last here. We had some starters and six mains. From the delicious Suffolk sausages, to the fine Suffolk ham, the excellent fish and the chicken we all enjoyed our meals. Friendly efficient service with a smile. Sorry to say it was the worst breakfast I've had in the cafe. But if I pay £15.10 for coffee and full English I expect the highest standards. Bacan was so bad I couldn't even eat it. The picture says it all. Who would serve a customer food that looks like that. Lovely staff but all they did was apologised for the drop in standards.
