Martha's Barn Cafe, Otley Hall in Suffolk Coastal

A super spot to enjoy brunch, coffee or lunch! Delicious menu! Friendly staff Beautiful gardens to stroll through at certain times of the year as well.

The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful and the menu was amazing. Food as delicious as it sounded! We all felt very welcome and unhurried in this stunningly beautiful setting. Would definitely recommend highly and can't wait to bering another group of friends here for a long, leisurely and delicious meal.

Where to begin? On our way home from a lovely few days in Suffolk, we sadly found ourselves stranded in Otley due to extreme flooding in the area. The situation was quite scary, with absolutely no hope of getting out despite trying every single road out of Otley. Defeated, we were advised by one of the kind locals to try Martha’s Barn. When we walked in, we were blown away by the beauty of the barn. Filled with fairy lights and gorgeous decor, it’s a cosy and welcoming space that has been beautifully decorated. Regardless of having no chef for the day and having to close the barn for the day, they gladly welcomed us in and put us up for the entire day. They could not have been more accommodating if they tried. From scouring Air BnB and calling friends to find us a bed for the night, serving cake and wine for us and even welcoming our little Jack Russell and making her comfortable, they just went above and beyond. Their kindness and hospitality turned a really unpleasant situation into a positive and we couldn’t feel more grateful to have found them. The way we were treated speaks volumes of the lovely people that work here and we will most definitely be back to visit under better circumstances in the future! If you are staying in Suffolk, you should go out of your way to pay a visit to this truly special place.

We visited here for lunch and a walk around the gardens, and it was a lovely little trip. The staff made us feel very welcome and we will certainly return again.

We had lunch at Martha’s Barn today on our first visit. We were a bit mystified by the system (should we have booked a table?) but the front of house team coped and were able to sneak in our order and we had a very agreeable lunch. Za’atar chicken schnitzel and the house heritage beetroot and other lovely things salad - and a glass of Roussillon. Lovely!

I have eaten here twice recently, once on a Saturday and once on a weekday. The food was excellent on both occasions however the service and speed at which the food came out differed greatly. We were one of the first tables there on a weekday yet the time between arriving and our food coming out was over an hour. Other tables who arrived after us got their food before us. We kept seeking the attention of the waitresses for various things and yet despite them scanning the restaurant they did not see us. The Saturday visit was completely different service wise - much quicker and efficient. So, if you don’t mind (possibly) waiting a while and service that might be a little hit and miss, the food is wonderful and the setting v pretty indeed.

This is a lovely place for coffee, cake and a chat. The staff are very friendly and service is always with a smile.

From the moment we arrived we are in good hands, the car park was overflowing but there was a smily chap reassuring us where to park. Once inside, more very friendly helpful staff getting us settled with menus and a drink Tables nice and spacious Room temperature spot on And the food! Wow very tasty, good proportions and we didn’t feel rushed at all Peacocks gave entertainment amongst the beautiful surroundings We will definitely be back soon £45 for two with large glass of wine and alcohol free.beer plus two main courses

Went out for lunch and never disappointed at Martha's Barn. Such good quality ingredients and the most amazing brunch ever. Service was excellent and so friendly. Setting and atmosphere are so beautiful, definitely a favourite of mine. Would highly recommend.

I had to arrange a last minute business lunch for 12 people. The team at Martha's Barn Cafe at Otley Hall did an amazing job for us. I already knew the food was first rate as I've eaten here twice before. Of course, we were not disappointed! Everyone said how delicious their meals were. And the service was attentive, friendly and excellent. Whether you want a gorgeous lunch for a large group or just a quiet chatty lunch with a friend, don't hesitate! Thanks to all the team.

I have been to Martha's Barn 3 times over the past two weeks for family and work events. Every visit has been a delight. The location is superb, the atmosphere warm and welcoming. Food is freshly cooked to order - so don't expect food to be served immediately - but without doubt it is certainly well worth the wait. James manages the restaurant and is a credit to Martha's Barn. He is welcoming, helpful, kind polite and always has a beaming smile. I'm feel sure you will think the same once you visit. (Book in advance - it gets busy)

The stunning location and interesting menu at Martha’s Barn is only enhanced further on arrival by warm and friendly staff delivering the most exquisite plates of food. Service and food to this standard is to be applauded. Will return again soon.
