Very popular. The tables are usually all reserved. Good reputation for food. Service good, beer good. Good wine by the glass. No champagne. Downside? Noisy when busy. Get there early for drinks while it's relatively quiet, and borrow a table before the diners turn up. Or just book a table. My 'noisy' might be your 'bussling'. You might like the buzz.

Well, you have to say that it’s not very prepossessing from the outside, and the interior is more shabby than chic. The food, however, is fabulous. Largely a European/Mediterranean menu with some classics. We managed to get a table for Sunday lunch having phoned same day and got a cancellation place. We noted that once we arrived, every table was reserved. ‘Nuff said. Missus had Belly Pork, I had a Whole Plaice. Both platefuls were huge. No cash taken, cards only. Never mind the paintwork, eat here, recommended.

If only more pubs were like this. From the outside it doesn’t look like much and you walk into a big open room crammed with tables and mismatched chairs - but the beauty here is the food. A real chef operates this kitchen, not a pub cook. The menu is tempting and solid. Last night, between four of us we had roast pork belly with all the Sunday lunch trimmings, a regular menu pork belly, steak and ale pie and a Station Smokie (smoked fish crumble). All delicious and well cooked. Bravo and we’ll be back!

Last Friday was our first visit to the Station Hotel and we really enjoyed the experience 😊 It was quiet when we arrived but quickly filled up and there was a good atmosphere with customers of all ages enjoying themselves. So good to see a pub filled with people these days, the staff are certainly doing a lot right. There was a good choice of food and drinks, with the Victoria beer very well kept.... delicious 🍻 I certainly hope it won't be too long before we're back. Thank you to all the staff.

Had a lovely meal with my friends which we ordered with the barman very polite as always. We have been in there a few times since moving to the area and have had no complaints with food or service. But this evening ended with a black cloud very big black cloud and spoilt the evening. The barmaid was very surly which we ignored as we were served by the barman. Unfortunately she brought our food to the table, no smile nothing just put it down and did not ask if we needed anything else to go with our meal. We let that go putting it down to the pub being busy . Unfortunately she collected our plates, the same rude attitude did not ask if we wanted anything else or was everything ok , Nothing!!!!!! We let that go too. Time to leave so went to the bar to pay she was checking stock in the cooling cabinets knowing that I was standing waiting to pay she carried on, more customers came in and stood at bar she carried on moving bottles still ignoring me and then eventually after keeping them waiting served them first . I had to say excuse me I would like to pay, with that she sorted the bill no apology for keeping me waiting . I did at this point ask if she had to train to be a bar lady she promptly said I had the wrong energy and I was talking down to her . So she took my payment and went back to totally ignoring me I have never met such a discourteous individual .

Nice place to linger. A visit here is simply part of Framlingham. Here you feel like you're eating authentically with the whole village and it's always nice to sit in between and enjoy a meal like you would want by the fireplace. Beautiful old pictures on the walls, antlers above the door. We love it. The food is always good and it's not just British home cooking. Here you can also find Indian dishes, lots of fish, pie, great desserts and cakes. I hope to try the Sunday Roast too. We haven't made it in time yet. The service is always very nice despite the fact that the store is always full. So many thanks to the station for always great evenings or the delicious pizza that you can take with you :)

We tried to visit last night to order food at around 7.30pm, but we couldn't get in, there were two ladies sat at a table, and around 6 or 7 gents stood around the bar who all looked when we tried to open the door and watched us through the window, there was no-one behind the bar and no-one offered to show us in. Renowned locally for its food and atmosphere, the Station surpassed itself on New Year's Eve. Possibly the best meal out in 2023. The place was buzzing but the staff coped extremely well. As for the food, it was top notch. I had the ribeye steak with peppercorn sauce cooked to perfection with garlic saute potatoes. My wife and a friend said their coq au vin was wonderful. They were less happy with the sherry trifle they shared saying it was overly swet. However, my dark chocolate tart was simply amazing. Top marks all round!

A small busy pub with a nice vibe to the place. Also had a good selection of ales which seem to be kept very well. We also stayed for a meal. This was mixed bag. Let’s start with the good. The special they had on was very tasty slow cooked beef blade and the slow cooked pork belly was melt in the mouth. Unfortunately the steak was real disappointment. We Asked for medium but it came very well done and was chewy. Just a bad steak. The fish stew was nice but came out almost cold.

The atmosphere was buzzing and the welcome in the pub to order our drinks was very friendly. The quality of the pizza has greatly improved. Perhaps this reflects the number of guests? There’s stiff competition for pubs with food in Suffolk, but the Station in Fram is about as good as it gets. Lambs liver & lobster in the specials board (evenings only) but there are consistently interesting things to choose from both at lunchtime and for dinner. The Old Master (so called purely to distinguish him from the Young Master, you understand) says he rarely eats pork belly. Fortunately he made an exception today - slowly roasted, not too fatty and totally delicious. I can vouch for this - I got some crackling even before he was served (good that some people have their priorities right…) And the portion was so generous that I got some left-overs there and then, as well as a promising looking foil package that augers well for my supper. I got lots of attention and fussing from other patrons, as well as from the staff, who were efficient as well as friendly. I can’t recommended this more highly - to those with two legs as well as four.

Hmmmm…………not what I was expecting. Busy, noisy with screaming young children, and slow service. We had a table booked, but it was only after a reluctant agreement from the landlady that we were able to order 2 pizzas to eat in the bar, along with 3 meals from the main menu. This was despite pizza being advertised in the pub, couldn’t believe you weren’t supposed to eat them in there! Had a 15 minute wait to order drinks and food, seemed like as a tourist we had our invisibility cloaks on whilst the locals all got served. The food off the main menu was delivered and eaten before the pizzas were ready so we got the pizzas to take away and made a swift exit. The food from the bar menu was excellent I have to admit, though there was no tomato sauce that was part of our meal so it was quite dry but tasted good. The service was slow and overall the experience was not good. Will definitely avoid for the future.

A nice spot though a great shame the pizza side to it seems to have closed. The manager/waitress really needs to employ a customer-friendly waiter/waitress (thanks Brexit for making so many nice and efficient young Europeans leave the country!). She's rushed off her feet and thus isn't very attentive - and, at times, I have to say a bit rude. Then the next moment, friendly. Just struggling with the pressure I guess. My food was great but I did pick up that they do NOT have any kind of veggie/vegan offer which is wierd and will definitely be losing them business.

We have eaten here very frequently over many years, and enjoyed the food. But not today. Maybe it was just a bad day but my sausage and mash was horrible and my husband's Max 'n cheese not much better. The sausages were hard as if (and probably had been) hanging around being kept hot for some while. The highlight is usually the gravy. This time it was watery and tasteless - imagine half an Oxo cube dissolved in 1l of water! To cap it off, after waiting some while we asked if the food would be coming and got told off -there was a party of 10 ahead of us and apparently we should have known this even though they were not visible (in the back room) . So poor food and service - not what we have come to expect as what was one of our favourite eating places. V disappointing.

Love The food at The Station. It’s always top notch and the ambience and welcome never disappoints. Would love to see the paint work freshened up one day but wouldn’t like to see it changed too much. Decided to go for Pizza at the rear of The Station last night which we have done many times before, Sadly we were disappointed on this occasion. Unusually we found the toppings very sparse! The combinations on the board showed innovation as always, the staff were pleasant and our pizzas were delivered piping hot in good time, but with very little on them. Definitely not value for money. I know we are in a bit of a recession, but they needed substantially more toppings. Also possibly think about bringing back the booking system. We definitely went more often when you were guaranteed a seat. We were lucky last night and didn’t wait more than 10 minutes but it’s pot luck when you just turn up. We would love to go with friends but dare not suggest it as you never know if you will be able to get a table. Although easier in summer of course, when there’s the possibility of a table in the lovely courtyard.

We booked as I knew it would be busy. I have not been in the restaurant for several years, had not changed a jot! Wooden floorboards, big wood burner, good selection of beers. We both had the roast pork on greens and mash, followed by...

We came for pizza and beer and had a great time. The selection of pizze was very interesting and we literally scarfed all of them down. Excellent service too! I recommend it.

Booked a table for 6-00pm Sunday whilst holidaying in the area after a four year absence. The service was polite and friendly, as were the clientele. Lovely pint of local Castle Hill lager, easy taking. The French onion soup was excellent, the accompanying toast would...

Popped in for a drink and was astounded at the attitude from the barmaid towards a customer who was paying a rather high bill. The customer was explaining how she wanted it to be split and the barmaid was saying don’t speak to me let me work it out, and then again stop speaking to me and walked off with the hump, came back and we asked if someone else was working as we had been waiting about 10 mins at the bar she then turned around and went excuse me I’m busy with her, the other girl on the bar is only 17 and cannot serve you so we left, safe to say we will not return, I suggest the owner look into getting some better mannered staff

The Station Hotel makes me smile. The decor could mislead you! However, nothing could be further from the truth. The food is exquisite, the amazing beer is brewed locally and the staff bring it all together. Understated, unflustered and amazing. Don’t tell your friends or...

Had a DJ here with younger crowd and great vibe on a Saturday night with pizza, was great, definitely time something like this needed in sleepy framlingham! Keep it going!

Amazing vibes with great quirky, classic and wholesome menu. Welcoming staff and a lovely choice of beers from Earl Soham brewery. The pizzas are great, the homemade dough and interesting plus classic choice of toppings are a real authentic treat.

I have eaten here previously and on each occasion the food was excellent and the staff top notch. I love the ambiance of the Station. However I thought I would share this post. I made a booking which due to a horrendous road traffic accident on route ( we weren't involved fortunately ) meant we could not keep the booking in time as we were stuck in traffic, we rang the restaurant a couple of times, more in hope we could still get there. The Manager could not have been more courteous, professional and understanding. A class act. Five star.

Sorry to say it was the worst breakfast I've had in the cafe. But if I pay £15.10 for coffee and full English I expect the highest standards. Bacan was so bad I couldn't even eat it. The picture says it all. Who would serve a customer food that looks like that. Lovely staff but all they did was apologised for the drop in standards.
