The Dooley Inn in Suffolk Coastal

I ofer 1 star for food becouse i order a dooley burger and was verry salty it was not good and i did not finish it.

Found this pub by chance after visiting Landguard Fort on a Sunday. We all had the Sunday roast and it was superb. Generous portions, home made Yorkshire puds and red wine gravy. It was delicious 😋. The staff were super friendly too. Will deffo visit again if we're in the area.

Bang average roast dinner, expected more considering it was the top one when searching online for a roast dinner. Probably wouldn’t come back tbh.

I've been wanting to write this review for a while now. I want to say how brilliant this traditional pub is. The welcome you receive is very friendly and warm. The staff here are so nice and friendly, including the chef. The food is very good and so is the price. We had the Sunday roast just like mum used to cook. The portions and quality of food was just right. The atmosphere had a nice relaxing ambience, with no loud music. There is a smoking shelter out the front of the pub, and a beer garden at the back with a lawn, tables and chairs. We have been a few times over the last couple of months and really enjoyed it here. We look forward to visiting again. 😊

Have been to the Dooley for a Sunday roast the last couple of weekends and the service is fantastic. Really friendly and can’t do enough for you. Food is very reasonably priced. Staff are very welcoming of babies and we’re really helpful with our 1 year old.

Went here for 3 meals while in Felixstowe. Such a lovely place to spend some quality time. The first meal we had I booked so we could stay and see the Wonderful Bouncing off Concrete. The meal was lovely and the group amazing. Such a lovely evening in the beer garden. The second and third meals were on the same day lol as we spent the whole day there and I proceeded to go right through the cocktail list which are all fantastic and very reasonably priced. I also loved the fact they weren't pre-prepared and had proper measures of spirit in. The people I ate with were all very satisfied with their food and a fab day was had by all. A special shout out to the wonderful Becky who is so lovely and remembers us when we return and one of the reasons we do. If you want a fab day out in a wonderful setting with affordable meals and drinks and amazing staff this is the place for you. Also excellent and quick communication when you message. We had Sunday lunch there was ample on the plate. The beef was very tender and tasted so nice, crispy roasts with cabbage, 🥕 and 🥦 . Tasty gravy and puffy yorkshire pudding. Would definitely recommend it . The staff were very friendly and attentive, good customer interaction

Food arrived with the burger completely raw , asked the staff politely if they could recook the burger as was raw. Staff came to collect the plate asking who the fussy eater was and who it was complaining , reheated the burger but left all the cheese on the burger so the cheese became a stiff brick which I had to cut away. Wouldn't reccomend going.

One again had the best roast dinner followed by a Mini egg chocolate cheesecake, staff are fantastic and food is too.

We visited mid week and had a lovely lunch. The pub itself was very welcoming as was the host. The food was excellent, well presented and tasty. It was also good value for money. We will return!

Don't order chilli. Smallest portion I've ever had.you get more at Mcdonald and it doesn't cost £15. LAST TIME FOR ME.

We have just visited for mothering sunday, after being recommended by friends. Firstly, the waiting staff were really attentive i cant fault them. However, the food was not that great. We had soup for starters which was barely lukewarm. Although, we was offered to have it reheated. The burger was diabolical. The most cheapest burger pattie was used, (I THINK IT WAS FROZEN) it was dreadful, it didnt even look like meat. No coleslaw, no side salad. Just a plate for frozen chips and a cheap nasty burger. Would i recommended, no i would not.

It’s the second time I’ve eaten here I chose the double cheese burger for £11.99 When it arrived the portion size was extremely small, the burgers tasted of fat, they were the cheapest and smallest available and where a strange colour tasted awful cheap small onion rings and no garnish to be seen Worst meal I have had for a long time ! Do the cooks or management not taste or study what they are actually serving or are they not bothered ?

Very friendly just a shame that the food wasn't very good ,I had lasagne it didn't taste of anything, came with salad & garlic bread, the smallest amount of salad ever ,and the bread was literally a small piece couldn't taste any garlic , wasn't worth the money

What a truly wonderful jewel in the crown of Felixstowe. We held a party here for my sons 18th birthday and everything was exceptional. We chose the buffet option to include a vegetarian option for the guests and what great value for money it was with so much to choose from. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. Thank you for everything.

Visited The Dooley on Saturday night for the first time in many years. As soon as we walked in we were made welcome and you could feel a great atmosphere. We were in a party of 8 and our orders were taken promptly and we didn't have to wait long for our meals. Every person in our party said how good the food was. Our server was very attentive and ensured we were well looked after. Needless to say, I have booked again for another birthday meal.

8 of us went for a meal on Saturday, 6 different meals every one said it was the best food ever, can't fault anything will definitely be going back soon.

Just had a meal at the Dooley. My friend had fish and chips which was lovely. I had roast pork from the specials board. It was a reheat. The Yorkshire puddings were squashed and soggy and cold. Broccoli was like mush. Potatoes horrid. About 3 pieces of carrot and some cabbage. So disappoint by this. Waitress could not really have cared less.

We were so lucky to have chosen The Dooley Inn to have our annual family Xmas meal. The service was outstanding, the food delicious and every dietary need was catered for. Would highly recommend.

Popped in at short notice on a Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised they could accommodate us for a Sunday lunch. And I’m so glad they did, one of the best roasts I’ve enjoyed in a long time. Great choice of drinks to accompany your food. And charming staff . Thanks Dooley

There were 17 of us for a Christmas dinner. Plenty of choice from the two or three course menu, All Dietary needs were catered for. Kelly and her team provided an excellent service with where appropriate piping hot food that was delicious. Prices were reasonable and the quality excellent. We all enjoyed a superb evening. Thank you all very much.

Went to The Dooley last night for some food and couple drinks and I must say what a lovely little pub great service, friendly staff and for the price of the menu you cannot grumble and the food was hot and good. What more can you ask for. Will be visiting again.

What a well oiled machine . Keep up the good work. I hope under new ownership the family run business is allowed to continue to operate in the way that I received exceptional service on the two occasions I visited. Full credit. The last time I visited was the lady’s football in September I believe where we were sat with the landlord and their son as no other tables available. Great breakfast baps . Well done. Overall not to bad couple of problems roast dinner far to cold but that got sorted. My son's steak was rare when he asked for it to be medium well that also got sorted meal got replaced and came back perfect. Would we return yes as the service was excellent the food was good and good portions any problems got sorted. 👍

Had a surprise birthday party for an aunt.hired the conservatory for it, the food was very nice,served as a buffet. The pub were happy to tailor it for the range of ages present an catered for a gluten free family member. The management/staff were very friendly an the total cost very reasonable! Thanks.

Score purely based on the cleanliness of the venue. The staff were brilliant. Very welcoming and helpful. The food was a decent portion and pretty fresh although our friend who is a pescatrian got served meat flavored crisps with her prawn sandwich. Unfortunately the overal cleanliness was a bit under par. All in all a good experience

Very friendly food cooked just right. Good portions very reasonably priced. My wife said the ladies toilets were an unexpected surprise as the amenities included use of suncream hand cream perfumes body sprays and sanitary products ect. A nice little touch for the clientele. Love love this place. A must visit whenever we are in Felixstowe. Went twice this year and Becky instantly recognised me which I thought was lovely. The Dooley is such a lovely, friendly place. We spent many hours there over the two visits and ate both times. My first visit I had steak and ale pie with mash and lovely fresh vegetables and the second time had chicken, ham and Leek pie. Both were absolutely delicious. Also had a piece of white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake (also delicious) Many thanks to Becky, Mark and Gemma for making us so welcome. Compliments to the chef also. 🥰

We had an exceptional Sunday roast here today. The food was excellent and I’m so glad that we made reservations here. The dessert was also superb. The staff was incredibly nice and personable. The atmosphere was great and we felt very welcomed here. They had a good selection of beer and cider. The prices were also very good.

Didn't like the food. Sausages were cheap deep fried. Mash tasted liked horrible microwave stuff. Poor portions for everyone at our tables. Kids meals were ok but still incredible small for a 10 yr old. Lovely staff and clean pub shame about our visit. We spent 166 quid in total for family meal but felt it was poor.

Another fabulous family meal at the Dooley Inn, for Mums birthday, absolutely brilliant service. All meals were served together, which is brilliant for 17 of us. Food was gorgeous, great portions sizes too and very reasonable prices. Communication was brilliant when booking the room. Always made to feel very welcome. Great staff, lovely place. Thanks for having us again. 🥳😘

We've got some smashing pubs in and around Felixstowe, and some landlords and managers who work really hard to attract and keep their customers happy. One pub that doesn't get the attention sometimes that it deserves is The Dooley Inn, down in Ferry Lane -...
