Very accommodating - we had originally booked for 2 but bumped into some family and were able to swap the tables around to cater for 5 of us. Burgers were great, hake was very tasty and the liver and bacon was OK. We mentioned some of the liver was inedible (chewy) and left a fair amount on the plate - without question this was removed from the bill. Very well dealt with and 5⭐ service. We will be back !!

We visited the Crown from our home in Miami Florida. The food and locally brewed beers were amazing. The service extended by the staff and value for money were both exceptional. A true rural Suffolk pub that will not disappoint - recommended to all ages and nationalities. 10/10 We look forward to returning soon and love it so much that we are looking to buy a home in the area and split our time in retirement. Keep up the amazing work team Great Glemham Crown.

Went here because of Detectorists but there is not much to connect to the show other than a signed photo and a pencil drawing. Ordered fresh Cromer crab linguine but couldn’t finish it as samphire was too salty and too much chilli used. If it was just me I’d put it down to tastes but both of us felt it was too salty . Tables too low and chairs not very comfy. Friendly staff and nice drinks .

One of the joys of living in Suffolk is getting off the beaten path to discover wonderful pubs. In our travels, we were blessed to have discovered The Crown Inn. There is a great selection of beers on offer, including a German Hells (Bendys) on tap that is gorgeous! All three of us ordered the Steak and Ale pie, puff pastry to die for! The girls opted for the superb sweet menu for afters, while I treated myself to another pint of “Bendys” as the locals called it! It was a delight to see so many locals enjoying a drink at the bar, which we’re told is daily occurrence. It almost felt like stepping back to another time, when England was a far more gentle place that people took time for each other. What a wonderful atmosphere! I cannot recommend the Crown Inn highly enough, and I look forward to our next visit!

We booked Sunday lunch at the Crown Inn as we were visiting the area on holiday for Easter. It is a really beautiful building and quite a quirky layout. The pub was very busy and we had a slight wait for our table. The staff were all really friendly, very welcoming. Nice selection of wines and beers. Being dog friendly is a big bonus. The food was outstanding, one of the best roast dinners we have had in a long time and I was assured by the teens that the desserts were amazing. Would definatly book if in the area again.

Beautiful home cooked food in a great community pub. We have been visiting Great Glemham regularly for the last 4 years as a base to explore the area. I can assure you that we have tried many pubs in the area, some good and some not so good, but to find this gem during our first visit was a gift.To be able to eat great food cooked by Richard the landlord and his team, combined with a varied selection of great ales in a warm friendly atmosphere created by Sheryl the landlady and her staff we always look forward to returning.

We came here with our 3 year old son and just randomly found it on a map near our holiday park and what a great find! The food was lovely, home cooked, fresh and really good value for money. The staff were really friendly and polite including the young male and female members of staff that could not do enough for you. It’s so refreshing to see younger members of staff have such great customer service skills. I had the pie and my partner the burger and then both opted for desserts as a last night treat and everything was expertly done at a fraction of the cost of other places nearby. The small village Pub had a gaggle of locals at the bar which we had to squeeze by through the narrow entrance. We were shown to a corner table in the dimly lit restaurant. The menu wasn’t large but it contained the usual pub choices. I went for whitebait and bangers & mash. The whitebait arrived un battered, on a round of thick toast, covered in chilli. Different. But very pleasant. The sausages were traditional, tasty, but the advertised buttered cabbage was replaced by green beans. All in all a nice dining experience, with well cooked food and a pleasant serving team.

The food was not ready at the time we ordered it and we had to wait quite a while, despite there being hardly any other customers. Just visited this enchanting Suffolk Pub. Sitting at the bar we heard a customer complimenting the Chef on the excellence of the food. Followed by a rant from another customer ( Female) about " cold food", after we had observed them chatting for an age before eating. They were offered new dishes , but declined, and after making a great deal of fuss they then were asked to leave. Perhaps, in my humble opinion, they achieved what they had set out to do, free food and drinks? Hard working hospitality workers deserve better than this, Good manners and respect cost nothing. Bad behaviour and rudeness spoils a great atmosphere for all around.

This has got to be one of my favourite places to eat in this area of Suffolk. It’s a lovely setting and the building has an old world rustic charm. The staff are inviting and friendly without being intrusive. This lunch time I opted for the pheasant risotto. I wasn’t disappointed. The rice was only slightly al dente which was just fine with me. I did wonder about the type of rice they used. The flavour and aroma was really appetising and I appreciated the vegetables and, of course, the pheasant in the dish. The whole peppercorns reminded me of Shot and though I’m not particularly into game shooting their presence was a hint to the season which is in full swing. In addition, the peppercorns gave a nice crunch and packed a punch. All in all, pretty good.As I was driving I washed it all down with a pot of tea. Maybe not everyone’s choice of an accompanying drink but it went well with the risotto! Well done, the Crown Inn.

On the last evening of our ruby anniversary holiday in Suffolk we decided to invite friends for a meal in the nearest pub to our holiday cottage so that we could leave the car behind. The Crown Inn was the nearest so off we set walking just under 2 miles to Great Gremham from Stratford St Andrew. We were given a warm welcome by the management and even got into a conversation with a local man about Framingham School, which I happen to know quite well. We were invited to taste the beers on offer before ordering. The menu looked good - shared platter of charcuterie and for the main course we went for seafood linguini, liver, bacon mash etc and beer bartered cod and chips. The food arrived quickly and was appreciated by everyone. My fish was particularly delicious and certainly the best I’ve had in Suffolk. My wife thought there was as much seafood as pasta in her linguini. Having indulged in the shared platter and copious main courses we were all happy with ice cream and sorbets for dessert. Then the unique conversation happened. When a member of staff asked if we were holidaying and where we were staying she soon realised that we had come on foot! Also sensing that we were not relishing the trek home after a ten mile walk earlier in the day she said she would arrange a lift back. Needless to see we accepted and were soon whisked back by car. So 5 stars all round and we will definitely return.

The pub has a lovely atmosphere, we were warmly greeted and received efficient, friendly service. When I commented that the 10oz steak would be more than I could manage I was immediately offered a smaller sized steak (reflected in the reduced price) that was very nice indeed. My partner had liver and bacon which was also delicious (I know cos I tried some). We asked to share a pudding (Bread& Butter pudding) no problem and this was delicious to. All together a very good experience and we have booked to go back with other members of our family.

I brought my husband here a couple of years ago, on the Detectorists trail, for our wedding anniversary. We were not only seated in the exact room used for the series, but served two of the best lunches we have ever eaten (liver and bacon, salmon). We were massively impressed. We've returned a number of times since, both for lunch and dinner, and taken friends. Last night we were in to celebrate a birthday and all 7 of us enjoyed every mouthful. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, there are open fires, lovely decor, amazing food and a general feeling of loveliness. We cannot recommend it highly enough.

3 of us dined at the crown inn. I had the whiskey cured salmon to start(very nice combination with mackerel mousse and a nicely presented dish. To follow I had to try the vesuvio burger - it was top notch. Cooked to my liking and chefs seasoning for the spice on the burger and fries! To follow i had the brulee which was classic in taste and aesthetics which is what i look for in a classic french dessert. We also had the cheese board which was served with homemade quince jelly & mousse. The brie for was perfect temperature and the port complimented very well. We sat with the owners for a little chat and they were very nice. We will be back to try the homemade pizzas!!

We eat out as a group once a month in the different pubs of East Suffolk. This time we decided to try the Crown at Glemham. We all had a great meal, reasonably priced and well cooked. Think most of our group will return individually in the future.

Had the pleasure of staying nearby for a short break recently and we had dinner here twice. Both occasions the food was wonderful. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff. In fact they went out of there way for us making something that wasn't on the menu. Plus the offer of lifts home by the owner to save on taxi's was something we are not used to at home. I could not recommend this pub/restaurant more highly. Thank you to all the staff. Looking forward to visiting again sometime.

We visited for a family lunch which included 2 small children and stepfather who is disabled and needs room for his wheely zimmerframe. We booked our table and the staff were very amenable. When we arrived there was another party with a very large mobility scooter so would say that this a good place for disabled people and those with limited mobility which is lovely to see. The food was also very nice. We all had roast dinner and there was a choice of beef (topside or sirloin), pork, lamb and chicken with a good portion of vegetables and a large boat of gravy. There were also non-roast options. Also a good selection of wine and beers including local beers. We would go again and the only reason for the four stars was that service was slow. It was not overly busy but it took around 20 minutes for the order to be taken and after 40 minutes of waiting we had to ask how much longer our meals would be, which was a shame, especially with two small children. May just have been a one off.

Travelled over from Ipswich to celebrate my birthday with a few afternoon beers and a snack. The beer, as always, was excellent. The company, as always, was excellent. And the bar snack? A Scotch egg that pipped the previous best Scotch egg I have had (mine), and even came with a gift. Excellent. Well recommended.

We came upon the Crown at Great Glemham by chance and was immediately struck by the exterior appearance of the establishment a good old English pub with a well kept garden. On entering we were not disappointed with a warm friendly atmosphere. A good choice of cask ales, and a comprehensive menu, we opted for sirloin of beef with all the trimmings the quality of fresh vegetables was excellent and the meat was lean and well cooked. We will definitely return and would recommend.

On a perfect early autumn day we and some friends had a perfect pub lunch. We all chose different things (battered cod, scampi, ham and eggs and a burger). All very well executed.

We both ordered linguine with spinach tomatoes broccoli and chilli, we were given our meal without the chilli and broccoli !! Complained meal taken away and came back a short while later with broccoli added! It clearly had been microwaved! Now in a dish not on a plate dish hot but not food, linguine now soggy as been cooked twice!!? Food tasteless no sign of chillies!!?In addition menus were covered in crumbs and sticky! Very young children ( may have been family) running in and out of the kitchen!! Loos not clean! Decor grubby! Went as a result of reviews but very very disappointed! Don't often give bad reviews but this was not a good experience!!

Came with a group of friends for lunch when visiting area,A great country setting with good car park at rear. Recently renovated interior gave good choice of seating, a good bar area and pleasing atmosphere.Staff were welcoming and good choice of beers (not all local). Great choice of food locally sourced from menus for either bar or a la carte. Orders promptly taken and service straightforward. We enjoyed the visit and thought it good value - hope we may return.

We arrived quite late for Sunday lunch @ about 3 pm. We had a warm welcome and the sirloin beef roast was delicious. Perfectly cooked with all the trimmings and the biggest Yorkshire pudding I have had! Tasty, well seasoned and lovely veg, no soggie overcooked stuff. Highly recommended. The desserts sounded delicious but we were too full. We ate in the pretty garden on a perfect Sunny Sunday afternoon. All food seems reasonably priced too and good value for money.

We were recommended to go to the cafe saying food is good! We waited 10 minutes for a table of 4, staff are friendly and even though they were busy but food and drinks come out efficiently and they were very tasty! Certainly will come again!

Sorry to say it was the worst breakfast I've had in the cafe. But if I pay £15.10 for coffee and full English I expect the highest standards. Bacan was so bad I couldn't even eat it. The picture says it all. Who would serve a customer food that looks like that. Lovely staff but all they did was apologised for the drop in standards.
