Wow. The lunch was amazing. My friend and I opted fir the chicken tikka massage pie which came with a side that included spinach and potato (forgot the name of the side), bith were simply delicious. The manageress goes above and beyond. When we arrived they were finishing plants in the high planters outside and it looked so lovely. You are close to the Playhouse and the perfect spot to eat or have a drink beforehand. The wine list was good too and the premises including the restroom was very clean. I would definitely recommend. This is also a dog friendly place and I walked from the rail station. Everything is walking distance.

We have only just discovered this cafe and we have enjoyed meeting various friends here over the summer. If we want to meet old friends holidaying in the area this is an ideal place to meet them: on the main road, well labelled, plenty of parking, and of course lovely food. The staff are helpful and patient, e.g. with a group of ten, wanting coffee, then being enticed by specials to stay on for lunch, and all of us indecisive people. They are thoughtful as I arrive with my wheelchair, and move a chair out of the way so that I can sit at the table. A small gesture but it is lovely not to have to ask.

Love going to this BB's as you can usually get a seat and its tucked away in a quiet area in the castle quarter. The food is always tasty and the drinks are good too. The service is quick and they are always friendly with plenty of smiles. The staff seem to enjoy working there as well which I think makes for a nice atmosphere. They obviously have regulars who they have chats with and a catch up but are not pushy if you dont want to talk much. They seem very genuine. Keep up the good work.

I was told about this place by a mate. They serve the best bacon and egg rolls. The bacon was local ,the roll was really fresh. Only 60p for a good mug of tea -was amazed at the value. Will definately go back.

Cinnamon rolls were so delicious! ! It was big, flavorful, crispy, and chewy! I feel so satisfied! The raspberry and pistachio bread was also super delicious! Recommended! ! I wasn't particularly impressed with the carrot cake, but it was heavy and not sour, and it was many times more delicious than the one at the church cafe!

Stopped of for a light lunch and a couple of drinks whilst out on a days boating trip. I wasn’t expecting too much as I’ve been here before, but any hopes of an improvement were dashed as soon as we arrived. We moored the boat and made our way to the front door where we were greeted by the smell of sewage. As the weather was so nice we had already decided we would sit outside, but the smell meant we had to be selective about which table was far enough away from the stench. Once inside we ordered our drinks and although the selection of drinks was fine, the hospitality from the bar staff wasn’t. So miserable an unwelcoming. We ordered our food which was delivered to our table in a reasonable time but when we asked for cutlery we were to it was inside and we had to get it ourselves. The waitress obviously went to the same charm school as the bartender. The food was no better than the sandwich you would get from a supermarket with a few crisps and a green leaf as a side salad. The leaf was joined by two slivers of onion and one wafer thin slice of tomato but there was no dressing, leaving it dry, bland and tasteless. We had one more drink and in total sat outside for about an hour and a half. During the whole time nothing was cleared from ours is adjoining tables, despite the staff inside standing idly. The condiments which you have to collect yourself were standard sauces etc. all of which should be refrigerated after opening, these were left out inside and outside in 27 degrees heat. Maybe a little food hygiene training required. I recommend the owner takes himself and his staff for lunch The Heron pub in Stowebribge. There you are assured of a warm welcome, great service and a selection of light lunches which are I a different league to what we experienced at The Ship. Won’t be back.
