Atmospheric pub in Norwich, well located with smiley, friendly car staff. My only gripe is they are cashless so I had to put £2.50 for a tonic water (driving!) on a card, they would have lost any profit in charges, cash should always be an option imo.

Busy, atmospheric Norwich City pub. Function room(s) upstairs. Let down for me by poor accessibility to first floor, but character of building may compromise access, perhaps better handrails on both sides of stairs may help.

This is a great pub in a great location. Brewing their own beers adds to the attraction and brewing seasonal specials, too. Aside from their own beers, they have a good selection of standards and a changeable choice of other beer. Also, the music is generally of my taste, enhancing the atmosphere. The team is friendly and knowledgeable.

Nothing is more disappointing than making a choice from a menu and then being told that it is the wrong time of day for that particular item. If choices are to be limited at five o'clock in the afternoon, then it should say so on the menu. Our server was a lovely guy who did his best to negotiate with the kitchen, but alas, to no avail. The ale was of a good standard, although the choice was limited and rather unambitious. Nice place and can recommend a visit but with some reservations.

Went in here on Friday evening, just for a drink, after having a meal elsewhere. We bought a pint of lager and a medium sized wine. It came to £14.60, which for Norwich is expensive. After the shock of the cost of drinks, we went to sit down. Because the bar area seating isn’t very comfortable, we asked if we could sit in the restaurant area, as seats were padded. Only to be told by waitress, that you had to be eating to sit in there. As it was getting quite late and the restaurant was 75% empty, we thought she was being a right jobsworth. We will not be returning there again.

Nice bar in a corner spot on a hill near to St Andrew's church. Its nice that they brew their own beers and so keep the tradition going. The two beers we tried - a stout & a pale ale - were good and welcome on a warm evening.

We always seem to gravitate back to St Andrews Brew House when looking for a pub in Norwich so I felt it’s only fair to post a review. The staff are always welcoming and attentive, good choice of drinks, service is quick and fellow punters always seem friendly. We occasionally get food which is well presented, tasty and portions are generous. I recommend trying a pint of their corkcutters. I will certainly keep returning. They do everything right.

A pub that is also an outlet of impressive brewery products. The pub serves 7 local ales (or beers). I have tried two of them, which is to my limited knowledge of ales, are nice and well-bodied. Worth to sip and cool off whenever you are visiting Norwich and opting for a lical brew.

A busy lunchtime as Norwich were playing later that afternoon. Just managed to grab a barstool. Ordered one of their own ales, which was cloudy and sour. Returned it and had a tense and difficult conversation with the barman who insisted it was fine when it clearly wasn't. Poured another hazy pint which he declared clear despite the visible evidence. I'd advise a job working for the Home Office. He very bad-naturedly replaced it with an alternative, which wasn't that much better. We drank up and moved on.

A busy warm buzzing beer house with fantastic beers, wines and food. We went for a couple of pints and then the meat / fish sharing platter with a cold bottle of wine. Initially thought that the platter was a bit small but it filled us both and there was no waste. Very tasty. Don’t be put off if you’re in a wheelchair. There is an accessible toilet at the back of the eating area and the staff are quick to help with a ramp to negotiate the small step between the bar and restaurant area. We hope that our experience was a blip as most reviews are excellent. We chose the brew house as our only evening meal out in our stay in Norfolk. We ordered nibbles to start & nothing arrived until we asked staff what was happening. How to describe the ‘pigs in blankets’? They looked raw although they were hot. The texture was soft & slimy & I had to spit mine into a napkin before I retched. I wonder whether they were microwaved rather than grilled. We told the waiting staff & it was deducted from the bill. Our mains were better but not excellent. One of the 2 belly pork dishes seemed overcooked & tough. It was a great shame because the ambience was excellent & it’s clearly a very popular venue.

We chose to book our wedding breakfast at St Andrew's Brewhouse as my husband and I visited on our first date and it was the best decision. The team made it very easy to plan and were very accommodating to various dietary requirements. We were initially offered the formal wedding breakfast menu but when this didn't have enough choice, they were happy for us to build a menu from the main a la carte menu. It worked beautifully and there were so many compliments from guests - the pork belly was stunning! We dropped off decorations the day before and the way they set up was perfect, better than I could have imagined. The service on the day was spot on. We couldn't have asked for anything better. Went in on a quiet Sunday for the roast - they took 45 minutes even to take our order so it seemed a bit of a cheek when we discovered they'd automatically added a 10% service charge onto the bill at the end. The food was pretty expensive but the plate was very beige in both colour and taste - the only thing that had any taste was the mustard on the side. It was also dry and lukewarm so I didn't feel it was worth the money. Still, the host was friendly and the atmosphere was nice.

Went for lunch after being 'turned away' at Bills having been offered a table in about '1 hour' (complete b.s.). We really enjoyed The Brew House and will definitely go back again - we've been to a few Bill's locations now and like it, but won't use the Norwich one again. The Brew House Restaurant is part of the pub (an independent brewery I think) by St Andrew's Church - just a stone's throw outside Norwich's main market area, and well worth the short trip. Whether you want pub classics (e.g. beer battered fish and chips) or something more modern and healthy, the menu has plenty of choice and caters for different needs and preferences. We had the open chicken kebab, tofu pie and loaded fries, with a side order of regular chips. The portions were slightly on the generous side, and quality was good, overall prices very reasonable at about £20 per head including drinks - although there are also deals available, and you would spend more with extra courses. The food itself was great, the dishes were cooked really well, nicely presented and served in good time. The staff looked after us well, being polite and attentive, and there was no pressure to vacate the table at the end of the meal. The restaurant/pub itself has lovely decor throughout that relates to the brewery, with plenty of natural materials and old signage making it an interesting place to be in. There's a good feeling of space at the tables, and the restaurant's seating area is largely shielded away from the bar area, giving it its own feel. I'm sure this would be a popular hangout on a Saturday night, make for a good date location - or a family meal at weekends - especially with the choice of drinks available. While the Brew House crowd is quite diverse in age ranges, reflecting the city-center local and pub/restaurant stays, the place has a lovely ambience and speaks of quality - definitely a good place to spend time.

The food was okay (although expensive for the amount and quality, and the Pig Roll was cold). The rest of the experience was pretty bad. I asked about their key-worker discount and was told to use the app to link my blue light card, then to order and apply it. Reached the end of the ordering process to be told I had to send off my ID and wait 3 days for verification... Anyway, we decided to go ahead, paid full price, and waited. For about 30 minutes. The money had been debited from my account, so I went to the bar only to be told 'the order had failed'. When I checked on the app the order status had changed from 'processed' to 'failed', but I had not received a notification, from the staff or the app. I now ordered at the bar instead, flashing my blue light card and getting the key worker discount I'd asked about in the first place. We waited another 20 minutes before going back to the bar to ask where our drinks were. We were told that drinks weren't bought to the table, only food, and we should have waited for them to be poured. Our table was about 2 metres from the bar, and we'd ordered them with food... ANYWAY. The drinks and food eventually came. Mine was okay, but the aforementioned pig roll was cold. I finished, went to the toilet and found that the male cubicle lacked toilet rolls, a toilet seat, or a functioning door lock. Upon leaving I had to pay for the food and drink at the bar, despite already being charged through the app. I've been told to write to head office to claim back the original charge made through the app.

Fantastic cheese and fruit scones! We cannot have enough of them. Friendly service. You can also get the scones at the market in Norwich or at a kiosk in the cathedral precinct.

Nice pub, good place to go for a nice meal and a quiet drink

Love going to this BB's as you can usually get a seat and its tucked away in a quiet area in the castle quarter. The food is always tasty and the drinks are good too. The service is quick and they are always friendly with plenty of smiles. The staff seem to enjoy working there as well which I think makes for a nice atmosphere. They obviously have regulars who they have chats with and a catch up but are not pushy if you dont want to talk much. They seem very genuine. Keep up the good work.
