We had our wedding meal here and it was perfect. We hired the tank room and the locker room with the bar upstairs. Our guests ordered from the normal menu- everyone loved their food and all meals came hot which was great when cooking for just over 30 people. They were great accommodating different dietary requirements. Laura was fantastic and made sure everything went smoothly. The table was laid out beautifully and everyone had a great time. Could not have asked for a better venue for our wedding as it was perfect. Would recommend to anyone thinking of booking an event here.

Omg!! Such a shame, ordered two burgers, with fries and a side of broccoli. The broccoli was cooked within an inch of its life and was stone cold. One of the burgers was also stone cold, and bun was tiny compared to other serving. Fries were ok. After a change of dish opting for the mac and cheese, (which we were very excited about) we were gobsmacked that it was stone cold. Absolutely amazed that this happened. Can not fault luke who tried his best to remain calm in an embarrassing situation.

I gazed longingly at @standrewsbrewhouse one Saturday in September when I was a guest at a wedding at St Andrews church across the road. Unfortunately the wedding reception wasn't in the brew house so on that occasion I was denied a pint. However, I resolved to visit upon my return to Norwich. And opportunity presented itself when a job I was doing in Great Yarmouth finished a little earlier than expected. I got myself a train ticket and headed over to St Andrews Brew House to sample their home brewed beers. Seeing that they had a NEIPA on offer I jumped at the chance and was rewarded by fresh apricot aromas and muted grass and pepper notes and ever such a tiny hint of bitterness at the end, reminiscent of blood orange. This was 'Pacifica' - a beer well worth drinking. However, if that wouldn't have been your bag, there were so many other options from the great and good of UK beer as well as plenty of other St Andrews options. As you can see, the decor is on point and there are plenty of cosy books and spaces for different sized groups to get together and chill out. I didn't get a decent photo but as with any good taproom the brewing equipment was on show and part of the experience. I must advise that if you have a train to catch not to tarry too long - I was saved by my train being delayed! #taproom #uktaproom #norfolkbeer #brewerytap #brewerytaproom #craftbeer #realale #ukbeer #ukcraftbeer

When we arrived we were allocated a booth. Very tight space and the majority of the restaurant area was empty. This was approx 6.30 on a Saturday evening and i appreciate that there may have been later bookings for other tables. Lots on the menu was not available ( fair enough- may have been an busy day). Was told we may have to wait 30 mins for food ( no idea why). Some drinks were not available ( ok- not your fault as our server explained there was a problem with deliveries). These guys seemed to be trying to do their best. The main problem was the food. The pie was fine although an overall very dry plate of food. Steak frites were ok but really basic. The sea bream was cooked well enough but the "chowder with muscles" !!!. A chowder it was not. I had fish in a butter soup. I ate it because I was hungry and we were going somewhere after dinner.but it was, especially on reflection, terrible. My partner and friends were shocked that i ate it- I did treat them to a taste of the butter soup!. I have ate here before but this was a bad experience and we do what British people do. We payed up and went on our way telling ourselves that we would not be going back. I didn't think it was worth sending back as if you cant get it right first time and it is missing ingredients then what would come back. its not like it was high end dining. It was pretty basic. I should also point out that i am not a regular reviewer as I generally have the experience I expect and pay for and, as i am honest, i can,t really be bothered. I have no ill will towards the business or the people who work there and it may have been someone in the kitchen having a bad day or someone starting on their career. Who knows. It was just not good and not worth the money,

Came here some time ago on a business trip where the three tired us were looking for a good spot of dinner after a long day of work. We had driven past earlier in the day and decided this was the place to be. Taking on the theme of a gastropub they have what you might expect for pub fare. Pies, burgers and some fish. We hadn’t booked but the place was busy, not quiet but they had a table for us. Staff were welcoming and helpful and were happy. Sadly, the only picture I got was of my mixed starter which doesn’t appear to be on the menu anymore. I might be wrong. But I was a vegan at the time so the hummus mixed plate was ideal. There is still the Plant-Based burger if that’s your thing. There’s a lunchtime, dinner and Sunday menu along with a specials board on the wall. They obviously host beers and ales from the St. Andrew Brewery which remains to be the only one in the city centre so worth a tipple and try. There’s also the typical pub range. We had a red wine with our dinner, after a couple of pints of Guinness. Overall, a nice place with a decent vibe and welcoming staff. Good menu and food was nothing too fancy but above par.

The food was AWFUL. The minestrone soup with Canellini beans (on menu) no beans, not minestrone, no tomato = it was a white soup. The Beef and mash - The beef was so tough I could barely cut or chew it. The mussels were cold, raw tiny bacon bits and no bread, veg or anything at all. Only mussels. It was the fixed menu. Nice interior and view. Perhaps go for the beer, NOT FOR THE FOOD. I told the server all of this, told Sorry you did not like it.....

Walked in for lunch with no booking but were seated quickly. Service was friendly and efficient. Full marks for offering tap water as standard. Ordered the smash burger which I’d had before. Really delicious and pretty fair value considering portion size and food quality. Beer is on the expensive end but no surprise considering the extensive range of quality craft and local beer. Me and a group of friends booked St Andrews for our Christmas Meal and ordered from their set three course menu and had an all round top time. All of us enjoyed the food and experience. Me specifically I really liked how the Roast Potatoes were done, just the perfect crispiness and flavour for me. Nothing to grumble about with the food and the service was extremely efficient and consistent throughout. Food came out quickly and no major mistakes were made. I visited this pub for a Christmas dinner and drinks, but unfortunately, the experience was quite poor. The pear salad starter was more of a rocket explosion—an overwhelming heap of greens with barely any pear or cheese to speak of. For the main, the turkey crown very dry while the carrots arrived unpeeled and coated in an unappetizing layer of blackened gunk. Dessert didn’t save the day either; the apple crumble was dry, flavorless, and paired with ice cream that could have come straight from a bargain 1£ Aldi tub. Definitely not worth the 40£ for their low quality 3 course dinner. Service was okay, but there were long waits between courses. The food was more like microwaved so I didn’t understand why was it so late. Overall, it was a disappointing meal but the atmosphere of the pub is nice and I have enjoyed their brews.

We ordered food on a busy Saturday afternoon, so expected to wait. We waited over 45 minutes and then had to remind staff about our food order. Most customers were drinking and not eating. It then arrived shortly after so was clear it was forgotten. I ordered scampi bites, which were in fact fish fingers and were £9 for 4 small bites. My husband had pate, very small and 2 tiny pieces of bread, again £9. Just not good enough. Very disappointing as we really like the place.

Roast potato’s were not cooked hard in the middle not very crispy not really very roast potato like, Yorkshire pudding was average, veg was minimal, no extras available on the menu. The service was awful they didn’t have our booking recorded when we arrived so scrambled around to clean us a table and then just left us seated with no orders of drinks or anything taken until I made myself known. Very poor all round service was shocking food was poor I’m afraid we won’t return for food again.

I visited the Brew house on Saturday evening for my son’s birthday celebration along with 14 others. I can honestly say that this was the worst meal I can ever remember having and at least half of our party felt the same way. I had what was called scampi as a starter which consisted of 5 rock hard chunks of overcooked breadcrumb coated I don’t know what ,it certainly didn’t resemble Scampi ,it was dry and fibrous …Then I had mussels for my main as did two others and all of us had the same problem, each mussel was so gritty it was horrendous. Desert was called Plumb fool ..yuk the only fool was me for visiting. Over the years we have been many times to this place with no issues but clearly they currently have no idea how to prepare even the simplest of meals …give it a wide berth.

Went here for my works Christmas meal, attentive and well timed service, food was variable, portion size was hilarious, really small portions for the money, quality was fine, the cold smoked trout starter was wonderful, but roast turkey with three marble sized roast potatoes and four lonely looking sprouts was a bit bleak, the apple crumble dessert was so small I almost asked for a magnifying glass, a three course meal and I wanted to to stop for chips on the way home. Went in here on Friday evening, just for a drink, after having a meal elsewhere. We bought a pint of lager and a medium sized wine. It came to £14.60, which for Norwich is expensive. After the shock of the cost of drinks, we went to sit down. Because the bar area seating isn’t very comfortable, we asked if we could sit in the restaurant area, as seats were padded. Only to be told by waitress, that you had to be eating to sit in there. As it was getting quite late and the restaurant was 75% empty, we thought she was being a right jobsworth. Returned it and had a tense and difficult conversation with the barman who insisted it was fine when it clearly wasn't. Poured another hazy pint which he declared clear despite the visible evidence. Went here on a Tuesday evening for some dinner. Beers are perfectly kept, lots of choice. Something for everyone. Ordered fish and chips that arrived in good time. The portion size was generous, cooked well and tasty. Pop in it's worth it.

We really enjoyed our meal and the service was relaxed yet the staff were professional and accommodated without much fuss, which we appreciated. Some of the best chips in town and the nachos were really tasty too. We've been before and returned again after a hiatus to be reminded of why we need to go more often. With a couple of veggie options for each sitting - the dishes felt considered and don't feel like an afterthought, which is always a bonus as a vegetarian! Look forward to returning again.

The food was lovely and service was quick. The staff were friendly. I was also really happy to find out that they have gendered and gender-neutral bathrooms.

One of the nicest pubs I've ever had the pleasure of drinking in, the staff were very welcoming to both me and my friend visiting from Germany, and were lovely to talk to. The Beers on offer were lovely, especially the Jubel Peach Lager, which impressed my German friend very much, and if that isn't indicative of a great pint then I don't know what is, plus the koffmann chips were amazing. Definitely visiting St Andrews Brew House again!

Booked a table for 6pm, whilst we arrived early, it was just as well it took 45 minutes to get our main course, we ordered dessert but ended up cancelling it. 30 minutes later still no dessert! The food we actually had was lovely but the kitchen needs a rocket up their arse! So in total it took 1.5 hours and only managed to get a main course! Would not recommend and WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!!!!

Lovely pub, superb beer. The place was packed with Christmas event customers when we visited but the staff were very quick and we barely had to wait.

The Brew House is a great city pub. They always have guest IPAs, it’s more expensive than the Rumsey but it’s good to have another pub with decent craft beer.

A busy warm buzzing beer house with fantastic beers, wines and food. We went for a couple of pints and then the meat / fish sharing platter with a cold bottle of wine. Initially thought that the platter was a bit small but it filled us both and there was no waste. Very tasty. Don’t be put off if you’re in a wheelchair. There is an accessible toilet at the back of the eating area and the staff are quick to help with a ramp to negotiate the small step between the bar and restaurant area. We always stop here when visiting Norwich. It’s actually my favourite part of the day out!

My kind of place. This place looked great from the outside and so we popped in for a beer. It's a fascinating place with emphasis on shabby chic. Great selection of beers many of which are brewed on the premises. We stayed and had some great nachos to keep us going. The porter was fantastic. Plus someone mentioned the Blue light card which we used for a handy discount.

We hope that our experience was a blip as most reviews are excellent. We chose the brew house as our only evening meal out in our stay in Norfolk. We ordered nibbles to start & nothing arrived until we asked staff what was happening. How to describe the ‘pigs in blankets’? They looked raw although they were hot. The texture was soft & slimy & I had to spit mine into a napkin before I retched. I wonder whether they were microwaved rather than grilled. We told the waiting staff & it was deducted from the bill. Our mains were better but not excellent. One of the 2 belly pork dishes seemed overcooked & tough. It was a great shame because the ambience was excellent & it’s clearly a very popular venue.

We chose to book our wedding breakfast at St Andrew's Brewhouse as my husband and I visited on our first date and it was the best decision. The team made it very easy to plan and were very accommodating to various dietary requirements. We were initially offered the formal wedding breakfast menu but when this didn't have enough choice, they were happy for us to build a menu from the main a la carte menu. It worked beautifully and there were so many compliments from guests - the pork belly was stunning! We dropped off decorations the day before and the way they set up was perfect, better than I could have imagined. The service on the day was spot on. We couldn't have asked for anything better. Thank you so much!

We were looking for a Good Beer Guide pub that did food on a Wednesday evening and we found a great one at The Cottage. It serves a range of regularly changing, interesting beers and ciders. The kitchen has recently been taken over by The Bodega and food is served in big portions that are full of flavour and excellent value. We were able to see the current menu in advance on The Bodega’s Pub Grub Instagram page. Service is efficient and thoughtful. The pub has a friendly, relaxing atmosphere. It’s well worth the short walk from the city centre. We’ll definitely return the next time we’re in Norwich.
