Two Magpies Bakery in Norwich

My favourite cafe in existence to be completely honest is that if this cafe was a person, it would be the second profit. The cookies are so good that I'm not completely sure if they are made in earth and the sausage rolls are brilliant (and massive) the aioli is the best thing to ever be tasted in human existence and goes fabulously with wedges. If u need to go to a cafe in Norwich, go to two magpies it will change your life for the good!

Bakery was of usual high standard but lunch experience yesterday wasn’t as good as previously- different staff possibly, especially a female with an indifferent attitude to the requests of what was soup of day- waving at board which didn’t indicate it was displaying soup options. Unfortunately the leak and potato soup was so heavily seasoned with black pepper it rendered it almost inedible- saving grace was the slices of bread. Will seriously consider if returning will be worthwhile. We like to support small businesses. Shame!

We visited twice for lunch on a short trip to Norwich. Wonderful food, really delicious and prepared with care and skill. We had soup and mushrooms on toast (beautiful, in a cream and tarragon sauce). So good was it that we returned the next day and had the same things all over again. Yum.

The positives: - Great selection of bakery items! I came here for a coffee and cake and loved that there were gluten free options available. - The apricot & cardamom cake was delicious. It looks small but was actually very filling. The negatives: - The latte was nice, although the “regular”size was quite small, smaller than a regular at other places which disappointed me a bit, especially as the price is the same. - Sadly alternative milks come at an extra cost which I never appreciate… overall a bit expensive for what you get. - The atmosphere isn’t as cosy as I would have liked in a place like this, and it can get quite busy and very loud at times. Overall, a nice place to visit in the city, especially so if you have the budget to spend a bit extra, however I prefer other ones.

Me and my family recently visited this little cafe for a drink, cake and a savoury food. The service was very nice and quick. The food was good but unfortunately the cutlery and cups were still dirty. Unusual as usually very good.

We decided we needed a drink and a bite to eat so we popped into 2 Magpies bakery in Elm Hill Norwich Ordered Decaf Americano , cheese scone and sausage roll. The sausage had a very hard greasy base, the cheese scone was not as tasty as some we've had elsewhere. I'm disappointed as we've had good and drinks from third Southwold shop and was happy with the products.

Just up Timberhill from the City centre. Excellent selection of beverages and cakes. I had Earl Grey and a bread and butter pudding cake. The Earl Grey was loose leaf, not some horrible tea bag and they removed the strainer when I asked them. It was delicious! The place was packed, probably down to the quality of the food and service.

Nice cafe inside, service was very quick, like 5 mins, food was ok husbands bacon to overcooked and unfortunately was like dust once bitten into. I had Poached eggs with avocado and chilli jam, lacked in flavour. Nice flat White. Would not return as had better in other cafes in Norwich .

We had previously visited Two Magpies cafes in Southwold and Darsham. We had enjoyed both visits, good food and drink and lovely staff. Our visit to the Norwich branch was the complete opposite. My sandwich was dry round the edges, I asked if it could be toasted, which was done, but with no apology whatsoever. My Wife had a sausage roll, heated up. She ate less than half and sent it back. The “welcome” was non existent on arrival. We asked twice for a menu, before I finally found them. It would have been much better to get one for us perhaps? But the girl I asked needed to go and chat with her colleagues. There was no apology about the sandwich, finally, one member of staff was apologetic and refunded the £5.15 charged for the uneaten sausage roll. She was the only person with an understanding of customer service. If we had visited this Two Magpies first it would have been our last.

Just don't bother to have the Eccles cake, its hard enough to brake your teeth, ginger and pear cake wasn't much better very stodgy

Really pleasant staff, good latte and so much choice for snacks and lunch. Will be back again very soon.

Happened upon this place when we were looking for somewhere for a snack at a cup of tea! What a little gem. Really good food…..and very friendly service. They went out of their way to make sure we got what we wanted…I had purchased the wrong sandwich ( dietary requirements) and they were extremely obliging in changing it and making sure I got what I wanted. Great little place.

Amazing breakfasts. I come to Two Magpies most weekends with my 7 year old twins. The breakfast is always brilliant, the staff really friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

Lovely friendly staff in a dog friendly restaurant with fresh cakes which are amazing !! Wr eat breakfasts here most weekends and also pop in for coffees during the week (always happy to serve the dog a sausage aswell even if the kitchen is shut) Highly recommend

The two lunches that we had were no where near the standard of the Holt branch. Mushrooms on toast consisted of soggy sourdough with only two types of lukewarm mushroom. One of which resembled pickled onions !. The sweet potatoes that came with the pperi peri chicken was either undercooked or overcooked depending on which slice you selected. The issues were then blamed on the suppliers !. They did knock a few pounds off the bill, but we will not be returning to the Norwich branch.

The overall service was pretty poor. It’s not clear if it’s table service or not, and when you arrive no one greets you and there’s no signs as to whether you wait to be seated etc. It was a bit of a free for all. Some of our plates were cleared without a word from the waiter, and we were still eating! What the service lacks, the kitchen makes up for! The breakfast was delicious and cooked to preference as well; food arrived in good time. There’s a great bakery selection if you’re passing by. Brunch choices are small but that’s personal preference.

Great tasting cup of coffee friendly enough staff and the place itself is very nice. Croissant was ok but far to expensive being nothing special on par with a supermarket bakery version although bigger. Probably worth popping in for a decent cup of coffee but a regular is tiny for £3.

A cute place in the city. I had the chicken burger and loved it, I also had some of the sweet potato fries, they were a bit overcooked but as someone who doesn't usually like sweet potato, I quite liked the ones I had here. Service was also good I made a mistake when ordering and the staff were kind enough to rectify the issue swiftly. I had a really great time here. The food was good and the staff were even better. Would recommend!!

First impressions on a Saturday at 11am; The food looked nice, a bit put off by dogs all over the place, but we got in the queue. But; Table was dirty and uncleared, I cleared it myself, no one came to clean the table. We ordered a pot of tea for 2 and two cakes, this took well over 25 mins to arrive, table still not cleaned. People behind me in the queue got their before us, but they only had to boil a kettle for ours, so not sure quite why ? When our food finally arrived the teapot had the knob missing off the lid, so you couldn't stir the tea before pouring, I mentioned it to the waitress, who just laughed. The milk jug was dirty. The cakes were dry and over sweet. Also expensive. Not keen on dogs everywhere either.

Takeaway cake - far too sweet, and has the impression of having been frozen and thawed - it also has faint smell of other products - such as savory pastries. Was not the treat I had hoped for

My partner and I went in for coffee and nibbles. The selection was amazing and the quality food in a 2nd to none. The staff are really friendly which made for a lovely atmosphere. I shall be returning for sure.
