We’d just had a doctor’s appointment and were looking for some late lunch at around 3pm on a weekday (Thursday). The staff were not actively unpleasant, but they surely were not friendly either- the level of service and welcome is much less than the other coffee shops in Glossop. We had the potato hash, which was very, very fatty - the hash is made of mince and usually ok, but this was very meat-heavy with very few veg, and it tasted overwhelmingly of liquid fat in the gravy. Having enjoyed it before, several times, this was diabolical - we’ll not be back. Especially as the food hygiene score has now fallen (currently a ‘4’). The service now became quite surly. By 4pm the staff lined up, clearly ready to go home. When asked, very nicely ‘are we keeping you from going home?’, they actually just said ‘yes’. No smile, no mitigation, no explanation, just ‘yes’. We drank our tea, paid, and left. There once was no competition in Glossop. Now there’s a lot, and that competition is friendlier, more welcoming, and- to be honest - seems cleaner also. And their food is now better also. We shan’t be back. This cafe does not deserve our business. I work really hard for that money and it can be better spent elsewhere.

Visited this beautiful clean establishment yesterday 12/09/24 to meet up with a business colleague. I was feeling a bit peckish so after the staff’s recommendation I ordered the soup of the day. When it was first described I turned my nose up at it, it was green Thai curry soup with lentils, it was superb to say the least. It was served with a lovely sliced lightly toasted bread roll with plenty of butter. The seating was very comfortable and the service commensurate with the food and ambience. Thank you very much and thank you for recommending the beautiful soup. FIRST CLASS. Russell

Over cooked meat pie which was a cheap pie full of crunchy gristle plus a overcooked fish cake that was burnt hard underneath , overcooked fish that was dry and very dry chips, tasteless curry sauce but on the plus side the peas were below average Even our dogs would not eat it so it was binned and we went somewhere else and spent another £20 but at least the second meal was not discussing

55 mins to get food , which was almost double the price you get the same elsewhere and it wasn't even busy. Would not recommend.

Possibly the best latte I have had in Leicestershire (up to this date of course), I don't know how they do it...especially as I'm borderline addicted to the things If you get a chance try the vanilla latte and let it cool slightly. Worth every penny. The foods decent as well and the premises is very quirky but unique.
