Caffe Nero in Harborough

Not a big coffee drinker but decided to give my local cafe Nero a go.Ordered a large cappuccino at £3.05 (thought takeaway was supposed to benefit from a vat cut ATM.)Coffee was luke warm, had chocolate sprinkle on top when I politely declined and seemed to be a short measure!Please support your small independent shops where a drink is normally a lot cheaper and a full measure.

We've had coffee and cake from here quite a few times now. One member of staff makes great coffee, the others may or may not make a decent one. The cakes go from dry to stale. You may get a smile, you may not. The chance of a great coffee (we don't expect decent cake anymore) keeps us going back.Sometimes people working in the service industry can get into the habit of thinking their customers are idiots and treat them as such. Wish it wasn't so but that's how it is here.

We wanted a snack breakfast and the last time we had a cheese and ham toastie in Caffe Nero, it was in Dublin on a cold snowy day. This place was dreadful, filthy and mediocre. Really tasteless coffee and sloppy, undercooked toasties served by inept, inexperienced staff.Certainly won't be returning.

I've stopped visiting Caffe Nero Market Harborough. The management are always so miserable. The manageress acts without boundaries, eating her own food while behind the counter, speaking to some customers disrespectfully, she never smiles. If I am going to spend £3 for a cup of coffee to a company with questionable tax returns - let's at least have pleasant service.

Incredibly rude staff. When you use your 02 priority app they treat you like you are the lowest of the low and like it’s costing them money to make you the drink. Only ever found this in this Branch every other Cafe Nero staff are more than ok for you to use the offer. Staff talk to each other in a foreign language whilst making your drinks which is very uncomfortable and often make the drinks wrong on purpose I suspect. It’s not much better when your not using the offer. Toilets are usually disgusting. Place needs a good deep clean. I actually hate going in there but visit family over that area. Not a pleasant place to go at all

Whilst wainting for the Sunday Antique Market to open we sometimes call in for a coffee and what impressed me was the young lady serving behind the counter as not only was she quick, slick and efficient but was very friendly to customers and their children alike Nothing seemed to phase her if there was a slight hickup or change to an order (no problem!); just hope is paid well and they can keep her as she is an asset to Caffe Nero.

Always relaxing atmosphere, great coffee with plenty of seats 👍 food hit with lots of cake choice. Staff always happy to help.

I always come here because they allow my dog in. it is lovely to still find places that they are accepted.

Nice building for a coffee not all the staff are quite as friendly as they could be. glad it was refurb as it was tired for a long time. Very long queues some days though

Normally we will try to find a Cafe Nero when out and about as the coffee is to our taste.We visited this branch for the first time today and will never visit again!!Didn't realise dogs were allowed inside,not very hygienic when eating food,also there were too many people nursing an empty cup of coffee reading a free paper and taking up seats!!

Service good. Customer focused and friendly. Coffe usual standard (I prefer this to Costa or Starbucks.) Most food was average but had a lemon muffin which was great. The Almond croissant was really average.

The Barista was ever so helpful and attentive to my daughter. He made her a Babyccino and brought our and high-chair tray over. Really nice service.

The cakes always taste dry and stale, like they've been sitting out for days. The coffee is alright but I've had better. The prices are also way too high.

Have enjoyed this well-run chain branch - mostly excellent managers - over the years - the vital element in a big organisation! Generally friendly, though less personal service than a few years ago - please norte!

Staff are very helpful and friendly. Food and drinks are of a high standard. The cafe has had somewhat of a refit, however the ladies toilets have been out of action for nearly two months.

Staff are friendly but no matter how well trained or friendly the staff could be, the coffee here is just below standard. Plenty of other places in MH to go for a better coffee.

This little affair is strategically located at the town centre overlooking the main square. Great to grab a coffee and crack on with your shopping or be seated inside overlooking the jolly passers by typical of upscale towns such as this.

Eye catching period facade with arched door and bay window overlooking the town centre square. Great for a good coffee on the go or settle down for a break and enjoy the coffee and relax before returning to the hustle and bustle of life outside.

Best in town. You can get a double expresso with hot milk on the side and make your own strong Cortado if you don't like the single shot Cortado they sell.

Nice place to go, although service can be slow even though staff are pleasant and friendly. However, dogs can be an issue especially when sniffing around coffee displays and tables. Should be left outside.

Called in for a quick coffee and nibble before a business meeting. Fast friendly service, GREAT coffee and good Danish. Not over busy so plenty of seating available. Needed a "comfort" break before heading off and OH DEAR = NOT pleasant! Although not unclean, it was very smelly = drains and toilet seat was broken and very wobbly.

Having been to Milan, Nero does what the staff tee-shirts say - the best coffee this side of Milan. No ironically, I don't like coffee, but my wife and I seek out Nero in general because she thinks that the blend of coffee far surpasses any of the American-Italian chain shops.

Coffee is amazing here in Nero's just what is needed, always pick up a takeaway one if I am working here.

Ignore someone saying that the coffee is too strong. If you are looking for a weak coffee then ask for one shot. It's simple really... True, its due for a clean up. But so is the competition! Heavy use means heavy wear.

Standard Nero coffee but the place needs a very good clean. Staff were friendly but waited an age to get served as one of the two members of staff on shift preferred to clean rather than serve customers.

Always enjoy the coffee in Cafe Nero and this branch is no exception. Coffee seems stronger than both Costa and Starbuck’s. Comfortable surroundings and friendly staff and the toasted tea cake wasn’t bad either! Dogs allowed in here too so that’s a plus!

And now with Cortado! Actually I prefer the Cortado stronger - you can have it 2-shot if you want.... This place is so friendly and welcoming, the coffee is good and the staff are very attentive: come a few times and they will be able to remember your order. That's what I call good service!

This is still the best place in Harboro' to go for a nice drink and relax whilst reading one of the free available papers.

Lovely little Nero on the square of Harborough. Much prefer this to the Costa or Starbucks both within a two minute walk. Generally nice staff (apart from one rude male worker) and generally well made drinks.

Usual Caffe Nero food and drink. Good quality but slow service. The comment about the lack of daylight by another reviewer is a fair one. The premises are deep (a former Lloyd's bank) and the daylight from the front window only reaches the front part...

Servicio bastante lento y MUY calidad Caffe Nero. La falta de luz no es muy acogedor y tienen encajados uno o dos mesas de aquí - cuando usted no puede evitar las conversaciones del vecino.

Un bonito edificio antiguo. El servicio era sólo aceptable. Bebidas similares, pero nada especial. Por mi dinero Costa es mejor y mas barato

Nos encontramos con el más pequeño y nos las arreglamos para conseguir cómodos asientos (que es difícil un sábado). El personal de aquí recuerdo que casi todos los pedidos! El café es bueno y fuerte - pide un shot si te gusta más suave, son siempre felices de satisfacer.

2 shot coffee and extremely tasty. Been coming here for a while, just once a week but the staff are so friendly and the permanent/regular staff remember your order which is exceptional service - well done Nero!The porridge is great as well as the breakfast sandwiches. I've tried the cheese and tomato croissant and toasties - delicious and served hot.

If you're on o2 priority you occasionally get a free drink at Nero. So I pop in occasionally. To be honest their flat white is ok. I prefer the cortado (costa) or piccolino (Starbucks) but a double shot flat white in Nero is good. However I have to give a shout out to the Nero Chocolate Milano which is without doubt the best hot chocolate drink on the high street. Anyway back to Harborough's Nero. There's a new trainee on and she doesn't look happy and is (forgivably) slow. That aside they are usually friendly and efficient here :-)

The staff are amazing - very friendly and helpful massive plus they allow dogs. Food is always good, one tip for them offer to heat up croissants/pastries would be even better.

I drink here very regularly - every Tuesday with the O2 offer and love this Caffe Nero. The staff are efficient. The cafe is large with quite a lot of seating and the decor is very nice. I would recommend the White Chocolate Mocha.

My partner and I just popped in to Nero after a walk and were very pleased to find out this cafe is dog friendly! Always lovely coffee and a good selection of light lunches and cakes available so it's nice to know where can stop off with our dogs to relax inside on comfortable sofas/chairs.

As a customer it would be nice to be served. True I am not a regular customer but it was very frustrating to be ignored in favour of others, to not be given any thanks for my custom and to have to clear a table while staff chatted. There is plenty of competition in this town so it is surprising that a "chain" allows such bad service encouraging visitors not to return!

Standard caffè nero but a nice historic building and staff are friendly and efficient. There are plenty of places to sit both inside and outside.

It's a good size, not .lcramped, and Nero chairs, easily the best chairs out if the mainstream coffee shops

Perfectly situated in the centre of Market Harborough, this Caffe Nero is like any other. There are plenty of chairs and tables inside and some even outside. Perfect place to get a drink and snack.

I visit here quite often and must say it's looking a bit dated. There's little natural daylight and the prices...they're hitting the sky. Nero, as with other coffee chains, are ever popular because we're brought into this caffeine/sugar addiction in the last 15 years...yet they're starting to show their age a bit. In this particular cafe, there's one member of staff who is especially rude, she never makes eye contact and rather than serve you spends her time on other tasks. The rest of the staff are the antithesis of this approach and always spark up a good rapport.

I visit this coffee shop once every month or so. The staff are lovely, they are always polite and efficient if not over worked. Perhaps the tables could do with clearing more often but the staff always seem to be busy making coffee so can't do both at once. Since I discovered dogs are welcome at Café Nero this has now become my number 1 coffee shop. See you soon and thanks for the great service and coffee.

Love this Cafe Nero in MH. It's a beautiful building and a lovely, relaxed place to enjoy a nice hot drink and a bite to eat. Good choice of seating too with the wooden chairs or the lounge chairs. Selection of newspapers to read to. Staff very friendly and efficient.

This is a good CN shop and they are always on the ball with your order. Seating is good and there's a relaxed atmosphere. They are a friendly bunch and do a great job.

I like to pop into caffe nero on the rare occasions I'm in Market Harborough. I always choose to sit in the comfy leather chairs and drink a thick chocolate milano.

This is in a converted bank building and there is plenty of seating and space, the coffee is good, the service quick and the staff friendly

I like Caffe Nero in general but I would not rate it on TripAdvisor however this one is made by the staff. A real focus on customer care and today they not only agreed to charge my mobile phone but kindly reminded me not to leave without it. A nice touch that makes a chain very personal. Thank you!

Came here when me and my nana were doing christmas shopping. Also been to the one in Leicester and both have amazing quality staff and drinks. Lovely experience when here.

Have visited Caffe Nero across England from Falmouth to Kings Lynn and various places in between. My favourite and most visited is in Market Harborough.Consistently good Lattes - at all branches.

The coffee was weak and burned. The shop & toilets were very dirty. The sandwiches bland. The staff were ok but I really couldn't be tempted to go there again because I also found it expensive for what you got.

I visit cafe Nero quite a lot , as I travel up & down the country, I find there coffee a lot nicer than the other 2 main establishments. I visit this branch 3 or 4 times a month. I have to say that the staff are not only very efficient , but always happy & take time to chat while you are making your choice. Nothing is ever too much trouble , busy or slack. The tables are always cleared quickly,it's always very tidy. If you haven't been to cafe Nero , & you normally go to one of the others , give it a try!

Caffe Nero in Loughborough Market Place is our most frequented branch of the chain, but this review also covers those in Market Harborough and Oakham (newly opened). In our opinion the coffee (cappuccino) is the best anywhere. The service is excellent, too, and it is obvious that the staff have been carefully trained, take a pride in their work and are very pleasant, even when they are extremely busy - which they are for most of the time.We like the fact that free papers are available (and to purchase), there are jugs of water and not only is there a good choice of coffee and other drinks from which to choose, but there is an excellent range of food, especially cakes and biscuits. And the loyalty card is another attraction.Yes, the baristas and trainees do work hard, but they also do need to give some regular attention as to when tables need clearing. One way to solve this would be to provide a tray stacking trolley for used crockery, glasses and cutlery as they do in IKEA cafes. This would encourage customers to do their bit and help to keep the tables clear for the next customers when they themselves leave. Health and safety shouldn't be a factor here, because after all, customers are already carrying hot drinks from the counter to the tables. However, the round trays would have to be replaced with rectangular ones!

The coffee is the thing that matters in a coffee shop; the quality here is very good. Incidentally you should ignore that "terrible" review because you can ask for a one shot if you don't like your coffee strong (which is a personal preference not a justification for a bad review). The pastries and service are really good also. All told, the best in Harborough.

Very well located in the square of Market Harborough, very clean, well presented with space for people to seat down by the windows or further inside. had a porridge with berries and that was a great start of the day. the only down side to the coffee shop is that you need to go up stairs and with luggage and extra bags that might be tricky but well worth the effort, everyone was nice, friendly. congrats for the great service.

Often visit here for a coffee on my days off. Must say, the staff are always friendly and efficient, and the coffee consistent and at a good price! Nicki and Hannah always go the extra mile in making sure I keep coming back for more....

Moved into the area last summer and have tried all the coffee bars. Nero outshines the rest by miles. Staff and service is brilliant and considering it's a chain, turnover of staff is very low. Always clean and tidy and coffee tastes great. My only niggle is the slow wifi when busy but that seems to be the norm for the whole area.

What a lovely find, pastries are baked fresh on site every morning, the coffee is delicious and spotlessly clean, unlike Starbucks across the road which is disgustingly dirty (have complained each time I visited!).Would heartedly recommend

Visited while shopping in market Harborough. The coffee and cake was good, seating comfortable, service good, staff friendly. Severely let down by cleanliness especially the toilets which needed a good clean and were very smelly (a stale lingering urine smell)

Toilets are in need of a deep clean, they smell as if they have been mopped out with a urine soaked mop. Shame the standards are not a lot higher because it is a nice place to have a coffee.

Best coffee in Harborough, always good service and plenty of room. They also have a loyalty card after 9 drinks you get one free, and unusually it's the most expensive drink that you get free.

Love love love it food great staff always warm and friendly. Coffee is amazing and always fresh. Much more superior to the other coffee shops in town :-D

We popped in here again last week,10th july and had a coffee and a bacon roll each.Staff were friendly, food and drink were both nice but the place needs a total clean up.It has potential.A tad on the pricey side but worth it.

The coffee is far too strong. I would always recommend Costa just around the corner. The staff are much friendlier as well.

Nice coffee house, but we had tea, no big pots so 1 each! + 5 pots of milk. I do think there should be some economy of scale here. However, it was comfortable and spacious and the cakes were good.
